Name:
rayvvan lind
Nickname:
rayv, ray, rav, lin
Age:
nineteen
Birthday:
april 21st
Species:
snake
Gender:
male
Sexuality:
demiromantic, though he seems to lean a little bit more to males
Flaws/Disabilities:
ray acts completely on his instincts. half the time he doesn't even think of what he is doing, he just goes with it once it enters his head. it is the same for him when he is talking as well, he will speak whatever is in his mind, the second it pops into it. no regrets or concerns with what may happen once he's said or done those things. sometimes it isn't really bad, just like spewing out compliments, or weird facts that run through him. but most of the time he is pointing out flaws. judging really hard. he tries his best to dial it down when he is with his 'friends', but around people he doesn't know or doesn't particularly like he just doesn't hold himself back
half the time ray isn't even in our world. he is always thinking and wandering on deeper and deeper into his thoughts every time he has the chance to. he spaces out at random points of time and you real have to get his attention in order to bring him back. not only does he lose himself in his thoughts, but in books as well. he gets really into everything he reads, blocking out everything around him so he can focus better, not acknowledging anything until he finishes what he is oh so focused on
Ray cannot stand large amounts of heat, which is why he tries his hardest to stay in cold areas. if he cannot, then the heat starts to wear him down, making him lose his breath, become very weak, and eventually pass out. so keep him from the heats
also he like-- never blinks
Secrets:
one of his secrets would be that he is blind, he doesn't like to tell people that
Powers:
i wouldn't call it a power, but he can stay under water for extensive amounts of time
then with his sight, he is not fully blind. he clicks his tongue or make a hissing sound, or just a sound, and it is how he sees. grey sort of outlines all the objects in his vision for a short amount of time before it goes away. he can see as long as there is some amount of noise. he cannot make out physical features unless he is really close, and the only colors he sees are black and grey

Personality:
rayvy is very..uh. well. most of the time he has an emotionless face. rarely will you see a different expression on him, only for short moments when he surprised or confused. loyalty is become a big part of his life, even though his owner, and ex best friend wasn't loyal with him. he is always striving to pay back favors, if you have done something for ray in the past then he will forever stand at your side, no matter how small the deed may have been. he really appreciates favors, he sees them as the different ways other people give their loyalty to him, and he always willing, if not eager to repay them with his loyalty, seeing as he things that is pretty much all he has to give. loyalty is very important to him. all of his impulsive actions, ray is actually very intelligent. in his free time he is often seen just reading anything he can find to read. he reads from history books to cooking books. from cooking books to children's books and so on. he retains information really easy and he is always somewhat striving to learn more though he may not seem like it. whenever someone mentions information he has never heard before he gets a twinkle in his eye, and he just devotes himself to that person, yearning to rack their brain for the information. he even spends his time using what he has learned from reading to actually writing his own novels. though granted, most of them never make it past chapter five, counting up the amount he has and hasn't finished, he has written almost nineteen short stories and small novels in his time as a human. ray is not completely heartless though his appearance may seem like it, he does care about peoples feelings a little bit. he does his part and helps out when he is needed, just as long as it is not to straining for him. because of it he is a lot nicer than he wishes to be, helping when he believes it is needed, like with chores and such and trying to give advice and comfort somewhat the same. but his kindness only extends so far. anyone outside his ring of 'friends' wouldn't exactly get the same treatment as them, as he has been with them longer
Bio:
ever since he could remember, he was with emily. of course, he wasn't, but that was when he liked to think his actual life started. when he was given to emily by that lovely brother of hers (well he was lovely at first), he was completely happy. though he could never express his happiness to the sweet girl, he was pretty sure she knew how happy he was. before emily, the snake was never as 'active'. he spent what he referred to as solitude. being stuck in a giant metal death trap with several other stuff animals of his kind. one by one he watched the others get taken, slowly he started to believe that life inside of the box was nice. that was of course until some little boy came right up and freed him from the box, leaving with him draped around his neck. after that he was given to emily as a present, and he loved her as much as she loved him. she was a sweet and kind little girl, and her brother wasn't half bad. he actually was a great guy, the one who introduced them to the world of imagination. the world of heroes! and rayv always was one of the important ones. an undercover super hero who helped everyone, who never let evil win. those were the days of true bliss
but, bliss seemed to fade almost as quickly as it started, and the cause was aging. or growing up. those happy days of three manned super hero games slowly faded, emily and rayv losing one member in their fun games. the splendid older brother claimed that he was too old to play games anymore, and he left emily in the dark with only rayv left to comfort and play with her. they still played those fun games, but, it happened less and less. rayv watched as emily left the toy box close, bidding good by to his caged friends as he was the only one who remained outside and securely on his best friends shoulders. he was saddened by the fact that he wasn't that amazing super hero anymore, but he was still till very important in emily's eyes, so he was glad for that. he knew that she wouldn't forget him like the other toys, because he had a special place in the girls heart. he was the secret holder, the protector. he knew more about emily than most of her family did. he knew about the bullies, he knew about her tears, and he knew about the want not to be a burden. all rayv wanted was to hug the girl, tell her everything was going to he okay, but he couldn't. all he could do is look at her through gleamless eyes and he there for support. all he could do was keep her secrets and her tears. and it killed him that he could't help more
the times became more and more rough. once middle school hit, emily had stopped carrying him proudly on her shoulders and instead stuffed her straight into her bag. like he humiliated her. he couldn't understand why he did. wasn't he the hero? the one that would always save the day, and send the bad things away? since when were heroes not to be proud of? it confused rayv greatly. but he still stayed on her shoulder while at home, so that was a good thing. the words of emily's parents concerned him none, because he had faith in his dear best friend. she wouldn't give him up, and he knew it. that was until the day of the garage sale. everything was normal, he was at his rightful place on emily's shoulders. he bid farewell to his friends of the toy box, hoping that they would have nice new lives with new children, and he watched as some other childhood possessions of emily were taken. but then there was that boy. that annoying, annoying boy who walked right up and shouted to have rayv. rayv disliked him from the very start. he just wanted emily to tell him right way that he wasn't for sale but..that moment never came. once emily's mother stepped over, she gave him away. she gave him away! at that moment, it felt like he was cut open with a jagged piece of glass, like his heart was ripped to pieces but sewn back up and given away. she sold him for a dollar. a measly dollar. and it was a complete goodbye to the friend who had been his life. his purpose. his whole being. it was all gone one the dollar bill hit his best friends palm
[so much rage and hatred built up inside his long body once he was given away by emily. he never cared at all for the boy who he was sold to, all of it was just a blur. no matter how much he cared for him or no matter how many secrets he gave. he never felt anything. he tried his best to forget her, and he tried so hard to focus on the sweet little boy who he was given too, but he just couldn't. his mind wouldn't allow him to. he was forever plagued with the pain from emily. emily. emily. emily. it was the only thing his mind could process for the longest time, only the swirling, swirling sorrow because of emily. the time he actually started to notice the boys existence, was when he grew apart from rayvvan, and it hurt him, but of course not like emily. eventually the boy threw him away just as emily did, except he was just thrown in some dumpster, unlike getting sold like before. the next fourteen years were..actually quite nice. having someone who tended to him and the others he was picked up with like they were actually people. like they meant something, like they all were important. ruth was one of the only people he loved besides emily, and after a while of being bathed in her kindness. he almost forgot the girl who broke his heart. the moment when his body turned to that of a humans, of course he wept and mourned the loss of ruth, like the others. but after, the emotions from emily hit him like a train, he screamed and cried in rage over her, mostly sorrow overwhelming him in the beginning but rage soon took its place after. he felt so unwanted and unimportant because of that girl, and she want on to live her life like he never existed. she didn't deserve a pain free life in his eyes. if he had to suffer through it all, he was going to make sure damn well that she would too. what ever it took to make it happen
it took years, but finally rayv got his revenge on emily. it wasn't what he expected. it wasn't a thing that made him happy, it wasn't something that made him sad. he felt, neutral about it. no tears were shed, nor grins of triumph, he just simply, ended her and went on his way. he wasn't exactly sure what to do with his life afterwords, since he had devoted his very existence to ending the one who wronged him so. so, he thought that, he would just go where ever after, explore the world he had been so intrigued with.
[note: rayv is like 6'3". hes a really tall baby]
