It was awfully nice of Sherry to show her what to do, though she kinda wished the hunter could have came with her.
Part of her wanted to ask, but, no, she couldn't hinder Sherry-san from her duties. That wouldn't be nice! And she had told her that this "bonding" part had to be done by herself.
Though she had no idea what that had meant, she trusted Sherry, and, well, all magical girls needed weapons too, right? Like, how Madoka had her flower bow, Mami had rifles, Sayaka had swords...

She pondered what kind of weapon she'd have. Would she be a healer? A mage? Maybe a warrior! She did fancy herself to be a warrior of justice, but having a staff and casting spells sounded kind of fun.
What kind of spells would she have? Maybe water spells, or... or nature!
Sherry-san's coat had a golden tree on it, so maybe she was able to cast earth spells, like... summoning trees! Or, or making cherry blossoms! Or she could be a healer! Yes, that definitely seemed to suit her. After all, Sherry-san was super nice and pretty, so her weapon and attacks would definitely be elegant too. But what did she mean by "partner"? From what she remembered, her partner was a "she". Did that mean she had a girl staff? Did weapons have genders?

Completely lost in thought, Mimi had totally forgotten she was walking down stairs, and her foot hovered over a step, heel overstepping the edge.
"Kya!"
Sliding down the last few steps, she let out an "oof" when her foot finally reached the bottom, wincing as rubbed the back of her head where she had hit it.
"Owwie..."

Mimi immediately sat up, pain in her tailbone temporarily forgotten as she looked around.
"W-who said that?"

"H-hey, that's not very nice!"

The voice didn't respond, and Mimi slowly got up, looking around some more. It was a good thing she hadn't fallen from the TOP of the stairs, and now that she was at the bottom and got a good look around, she noticed it was... quite dark. Well, aside from the torch mounted on the far wall, but not that she wasn't distracted with her thoughts anymore, she realized she was in a small room surrounded by... stone. Glowing stone. Oooh...
This was like a dungeon, or, or, a loot room! A dungeon loot room!
...ah! Maybe that voice was...

"U-um, ano sa... are you... my partner?"
No response.
"U-um..."

The voice continued mumbling, and Mimi only stood, listening, as she slowly realized that the voice wasn't one that was spoken out loud. Not in... a physical sense per say, but kind of like... an angry thought. She felt it buzzing around her head, kinda like what her conscience told her, though her conscience usually told her nice, positive things, like "Ganbatte!",and "Dattebayo!", and "don't worry Mimi, we all make mistakes!" To think that it was saying such harsh mean things to her...

A tear fell, followed by another, and soon, the voice slowly died off as tears streamed down Mimi's face, soft hiccups escaping her mouth as she tried to stop.

"I... I can't help it. You're saying such mean things... I mean, sometimes Mama and Papa scold me, but they usually say things like 'Silly Mimi, you're just imagining things', or 'Mimi, maybe you should stop watching Madoka, it's not good for you'. Well, I guess sometimes the students laugh and tease me for saying I see shadows moving, but there's always someone encouraging me. But... to have that voice IN your head calling you mean things, I just can't... I... I can't..."
Dropping to her knees, she pressed her hands to her ears, as if it could block it out.
"Kowai... I don't want this... kowai..."

I feel being stuck with some disgusting thing like you? You hear a voice in your head and suddenly you think it's the end of the world. What about me? What about what I gave up? I didn't ask to be weaponized so I could be stuck with some sniveling ghoul who's scared of her own shadow. I wanted POWER, jackdammit. That's what I agreed on. That's what I gave up my beautiful body for, and yet THIS is what I end up with. I wanted to fight. I wanted GLORY. I don't want this pansy of a human wielding me. This is an insult to my pride, to my very RACE. This is extremely upsetting. I should be the one crying here, Jack.>

The voice finally seemed to quiet down slightly, as if trying to catch its breath after that rant, and it also gave Mimi some time to recompose herself.
While some things were kinda mean, she supposed the voice was right. She couldn't let such simple things deter her from her goal. Didn't she come here to become a warrior of justice? To fight the forces of evil? If she let such silly things like voices in her head and moving shadows scare her, she would bring shame on all the magical girls out there. She couldn't let them down!

"You're right... I'm sorry. I... I won't let it happen again."
Wiping away the rest of her tears, she stood up, fists clenched against the hem of her dress.
"U-um, my name is Mimi! Mimi Magloire! I'm 17, and I want to become a hunter so that I can protect the people I love! I want to make this world a happy place, and vanquish all evil! I promise I won't cry anymore, and I won't run away! I'll work hard, so please don't look down on me. I'll work hard, so you don't have to regret your decision. So please... don't cry!"

A moment of silence passed, and Mimi thought she heard something akin to a snort.

"Pull you out....?

Mimi turned, seeing one of the glowy rocks seeming to beckon her, pulsing at a slightly brighter light.
Without realizing it, she found herself drawn towards it, hands reaching out until she grasped the tablet with them, and then, she pulled.
The moment it came out, it shifted, until it formed a sort of sword, and she nearly dropped it at the sheer surprise... and weight.
