Gaia Name: TwiDawnLight
Character Name: Milara/Ramali
Age: 19
Race: Hylian
Gender: Female
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 130 lbs
Blood Type: AB-
Appearance:

Milara:
As a lady born into nobility Milara commands the poise and grace that a woman of her station is expected to. Long graceful gowns, impeccable manners, fiery curls bound into a bun and blue eyes patiently averted. What one may care to notice is the keen mind behind the facade, the power in the set of her shoulders and the mana-charged air around her; for the noble lady is not all that she seems.
Ramali:
A simple traveler is his guise and he seems it as he looks at the world with the starry eyes of someone new to its many wonders. His orange hair is cropped short the carrot-colored mop falling into dark green eyes and absently pushed out again with the flick of a wrist. There’s a certain guilelessness in his bright-eyed wonder and his hesitant smiles. But a careful observer can see the weight to his shoulders as he stands with staff in hand calling upon his mana. A child weary with the weight of the world.

Personality: Clever. If you asked her father that would be the first word out of his mouth quickly followed by synonyms crafty, sly, and 'cunning as a fox. Of course he could be mistaken since the quiet lady that wanders aimlessly across the ballroom at social gatherings is nothing but polite and charming. She seems content, perhaps a little withdrawn, but fairly harmless nonetheless. Surely no fox could hide beneath such a pretty smile?
And he will say, with a fond air of resignation, "That is exactly what she wants you to think."
Being her father he is, of course, perfectly right. Why does anyone need to know that with a distraction and a wave of her hand she could easily incapacitate a soldier? Many Hylians know magic, but few are as well versed as she is at her age. If they question it she'll simply say they never asked.
When she isn't off being a "delicate, lovely young lady" she shows her true colors. Headstrong, cheeky, and borne of a spirit of mischief she's forward, unafraid of speaking out and very, very intelligent. Her very best asset is her mind and not simply in what she knows but what she can plan even under duress. She can be a bit impulsive, slightly impatient and her temper isn't the best but self-control and her time in the court has taught her a few things and she can usually keep her emotions under wraps and possesses quite the poker face. She can be kind and in rare moments of peace these feelings filter through, but there is an inherent ruthlessness in her that proves she is not a woman to be crossed. You’d never guess with how confidently she carries herself, but she is a bit naive and inexperienced in dealing with the world beyond her home.
In comparison to the noblewoman her traveling persona, Ramali, can seem quite the fantastic twist. Where Milara is tight and controlled Ramali is more carefree and adventurous, light-hearted in nature and prone to friendly jests if the mood finds him. His curiosity knows no bounds and he finds it difficult to hold his tongue in favor of discovering the answers to his questions. His faint timidity in an unfamiliar environment, his sharp temper and his insecurities- the feelings Milara dare not show even on her own are the traits Ramali boasts. And if she is to admit it only to herself, in the silence of her travels or the safety of her thoughts, she may just be slightly envious of his freedom.

History: Milara’s tale begins before her conception with a woman who traveled the world and a man with a noble heart. This woman saw dissent in the world and wept for it, and when the man saw her tears he swore never to let another fall again. She was Kaiulu, a friend to the Lanayru, he was Basil, noble knight under the king. Upon his oath they were married, and a year later a child was born. They almost lost her, breath stolen by the cord around her neck, only to be revived through the efforts of healers well and whole.

From the very moment she was born Milara displayed an inherent -and genetic, Basil would swear as his wife laughed openly at whatever mischief the child had gotten herself into this time- curiosity about the world around her. She learned to speak and read quickly and clearly in an effort to find answers to the questions that so troubled her young mind. Her tiny feet guided her into many troubles, throwing their home into an uproar at her constant disappearances, but her parents loved her dearly and were proud. She learned many things of her status and a few not so much, beginning an early tutelage in magic where she showed a talent for the art. It was when she turned 7 that she played her mother (notorious for her skill) in chess and won with only a piece taken from her. And the shard her mother had unknowingly held for so long passed onto her.

As the year went her mother grew ill, no doctors could find what ailed her and by the time of her death she'd been confined to her bed for months. But on the last day before she was no longer able to stand she took one last trip with Milara to their library. "Books hold many of the answers" Kaiulu had said "But as a wise man once said 'The world is a book and those who do not travel have read only one page.'" It was a philosophy that Milara took to heart.

Her mother passed on her 8th birthday.

When Kaiulu died Basil's heart froze with her, he didn't know how to raise Milara into womanhood and so turned to the way his own father had raised him. He made her devote herself to her studies which may not have been a problem had it not been for the fact that she had hardly a moment to herself. She was pushed to be the best and fiercely accepted the challenge, but despised how she was also expected to be a proper lady of the court. And still that would not have been so terrible were it not for the fact that her father kept pushing her away as well. A rift grew between them and whilst the brusque treatment hardened her heart it made her even more determined, her stubborn attitude kindled and held in silent rebellion. When within her father's sights she became the disciplined noblewoman he seemed to expect her to become. However whenever she was out of his reach she let her fierce nature show. She'd rebel against a million tiny things and claim innocence whenever she got injured in the process. She never got it all past her father, but she got away with quite a lot.

Time marched on and Milara continued her studies in magic though she went far beyond what her teachers thought she knew. She learned of Illusion and using it would escape her home to mingle in the streets with the other folk, to enjoy their hustle and bustle. She met many people but never truly made friends. Used to the court as she was, too used to being guarded and only versed in those manners, finding friends was difficult for her. Most often after she'd enjoyed the life of the city she'd disappear to the graveyard and wander among the spirits. She could see them and talk to them, and a figure in a midnight blue cloak became famous as a new specter in the graveyard. Then the vision came.

Milara had noted many times that there was something rather strange about her own mana, as if there was something else alongside it. But she had never known what it was that was different until that moment. In the midst of her dreams she foresaw a shadow stirring, readying until it awaited on the edge of the future ready to wash over the past and drown it in its sickliness and strife. Unable to do anything other than watch the horror unraveling before her she fell to her knees as despair waited to claim her. Then in the distance she heard a ringing. Before the amassing wall appeared one light, then another, and another bursting into existence in magnificent shower of sparks, rallying spirits and bringing hope and power so rousing it sang in her very blood. Then she woke up.

She would waste no time attempting to find her answers alone. On that very night she made her decision.

A good three months of preparation went into the plot with many visits to the town in that time. The clothes she readied for travel were not of her home but from material bought and weaved in town. As was the pack, the saddle and stirrups she readied for her horse Arion (who even went through preparation of his own), the metal staff carefully crafted, everything. She couldn’t risk taking anything from home with her, doing so would help her father track her. All that came with her was her mother’s necklace and her lifelong friend and stallion, Arion. On her 19th birthday she disappeared into the night. And so she began her journey.

Chosen By: Triforce Shard of Wisdom

Weapon: Her metal staff, which she can use to bludgeon foes into submission. She has some talent in fencing but against experienced swordsmen she'll be soundly defeated. Since she’s begun posing as a boy she’s earned herself a mean right hook as well.

Equipment:
Green Traveler’s Cloak
Light Leather Armor
Leather Pack: Filled with simple supplies such as food, drink, a map, etc. It’s rather light and packed only with necessities.
Mother’s Necklace: A simple blue teardrop-shaped crystal, flattened silver surrounds it in an oval shape. It doesn’t seem to have any special properties, just sentimental value.
Staff: It’s a simple metal pole without any adornment, the layer beneath that is laced with runes and aids for magic. The design allows it to act as a channel for mana.
Arion: Her faithful (if rather stubborn) black stallion, Milara grew up with Arion and considers him a good friend. She has a rather odd relationship with the horse, treating him as an equal instead of a pet. Furthermore she even seems to be able to understand him. While others find their camaraderie odd Milara thinks nothing of it.

Magic Abilities: Despite her age Milara is a skilled sorceress though it’s something kept only within the walls of her home. She has studied extensively in several magical fields ranging from the destructive to the restorative.
The Three Spells
Din’s Fire: A fire spell. Depending on the caster’s intention it can be used to create a dome of fire, a fireball- whatever creativity can be put to use within the bounds of reason. Milara has enough experience with the spell to make a fireball a little smaller than a beach ball.
Nayru’s Love: A barrier spell; manifests a blue crystal shield around the caster or target. It protects against magical and physical attacks, however whatever force is dealt upon the shield is applied to the one shielded (ex. if someone swings their sword at the shield and one doesn’t defend in time, the force knocks you back). Milara can hold this for a full minute on herself (5 posts) and for 30 seconds on others (3 posts).
Farore’s Wind: A teleportation spell; at its greatest Farore's Wind allows one to cross vast distances in the span of a few seconds. Others even use it for battle to appear behind the enemy. As it is for Milara she can teleport up to 200 feet in any direction, the distance is halved when she takes people with her.

Healing
Nayru’s Heart: A healing spell, Milara’s experienced enough with it to heal moderate wounds. As a side effect if she’s injured her mana will start attempting to knit her back together which can drain her energy and dip into other spell reserves. It requires a conscious effort to stop the process.
Water: Milara has a unique and unusual ability to heal others using water as a catalyst. At present because she knows little of it, it can only heal minor wounds. With more experience it may even surpass the strength of Nayru’s Heart.

Offensive
Farore's Lance: Green wind gathers in the air above the target and takes on a vague lance shape before plunging down to attack. Upon connecting (or not) with the target a burst of wind flares outwards from the point of impact knocking those closeby back. (Wide Area Attack)
Nayru’s Fury: Five icicles materialize in the air around the caster before shooting at the target.
Din’s Saber: A line of fire rises from the earth and goes for the target. It’s a straight-line spell so it can’t change direction.
Nayru’s Will: Summons up a pillar of water to blast foes; it can be used in combination with Nayru’s Fury for interesting effects.
Din’s Wrath: An earth medium is needed for this spell; Milara calls up spikes of earth to rise up from the ground and strike enemies. Like Fortitude it can be used on stone at the cost of taxing the user. Milara can use her staff as a second medium to connect with the earth, barring the need for physical contact.
Farore’s Grace: Sickle like blades spread out from the caster to slice and batter foes. It’s an effective long range attack, it can be condensed to 5 sickles making the attack more potent.

Defensive
Din’s Fortitude: An earth medium is needed for this spell; Milara calls up a wall of earth to shield her. An earth catalyst must be used for this spell with soil being the most common. Stone can also be used but causes a greater strain on the caster. Wood and the like cannot be used as they are part of Farore’s domain.
Farore’s Shield: Wind gathers in a circular shape before the caster constantly spinning. This spell is made for magical defense; the winds spin either clockwise or counter in order to disperse magic. The only physical attack it can fully block is ranged weapons. Melee -while they may be knocked slightly off course- will pierce the shield and shatter its magic.
Nayru’s Mirror: An extension of Nayru’s Love though this time it can only be aimed in one direction. As the name implies it reflects attacks upon the offender. Like Farore’s Shield, however, it’s only good for magic attacks. In this case it can hold up for a strike or two from physical attacks before shattering.

Psychic
Sight: Seeing spirits is a simple matter for Milara, her closeness to death as a child guaranteed it. She’s fond of talking to ghosts and tends to frequent graveyards because of it.
Prophecy: Under the influence of her Triforce shard Milara’s Sight expands to see a probable future. Because it is born of the shard alone and by very little of her power what she sees is limited. The fact that she can use it at all, however, means that she has a natural potential for it.
Telepathy: Milara’s telepathy is strong enough to allow her to communicate not only with others of psychic ability but even those without. The difference is that the latter can’t respond to her; she’s not a mind reader. The closer people are the easier she can communicate with them so more distance means a garbled connection. She has a range of 32 meters which isn’t really saying much since at that distance her ability to communicate is shaky at best.
Mental Defense: Like most psychics Milara has powerful mental defenses around her mind. Her own are a mixture of puzzles, mazes, riddles, history, traps and a great deal of redundant paths, dead ends, etc. It’s all very time consuming, really which is a problem for anyone who feels like picking at her brains as it gives her time to come up with a counter.

Other
Illusion: Milara’s a skilled illusionist for the simple fact that she’s been studying it for some time and using it just the same. She’s especially skilled with physical appearances that affect all five senses. Making illusory copies to run amok for a few feet is also a claim to her ability given that she is forced to maintain her male guise at the same time. The culmination of her skill can best be seen in her male disguise, Ramali. Even if unconscious she can maintain the minor flow of mana needed to keep her illusion going, the real problem comes if she’s low on magic reserves.
