Forte paced back and forth while she waited for Orrin to come back. She told him to come early because she wanted to make sure they didn’t get there late! She didn’t get to see Syn and the kids all that often and now with Autumn here the snow would soon some and she’d be stuck close to the teepee until it melted. She knew Orrin wasn’t purposely running late, he cared for his family very much. She just hoped that something hadn’t gone wrong. For that matter, where was Starlet?
Starlet carried some flowers she stopped off to pick up. She wanted to make sure she got something for Syn. She hadn’t seen the mare in a long time and was even more excited to see her brother and sister. Not to mention her nieces and nephews. She danced in place with excitement as she arrived at her mother’s Teepee. “I’m here mom!” She called out an then almost walked head first into her mother.
She took a stop back and then smiled. “Orrin’s not back yet?” She spoke around the flowers but just as she said that she heard the approaching.

Orrin as per usual was a feeling a little anxious about everyone meeting. He wasn’t all that sure why. Everyone got along well, but maybe he was scared that someone harbored bad feelings but never spoke them. He couldn’t ever see or sense anything negative from anyone. He knew that Forte enjoyed seeing Syn and his kids. She, just like Starlet have always longed for a large family and when Forte agreed to be his mate… They got their wish. He was truly so very lucky that he and Syn have become such good friends and she seemed to enjoy Forte’s company. Starlet didn’t really look to him as a father, she was an adult by the time he came around but she cared for him. He was welcomed by her, just as she has been by his children.
She’s finally been able to play with siblings. Something that she missed out on and now she was enough an aunt! Maybe it was because it all seemed to perfect? He was standing in a nearby stream cleaning himself up, knowing that he was probably making Forte worry. He loved her with all his heart, she has changed his life and has allowed him to grow into the stallion he’s wanted to be with her love. He was a proud father.
Now that he had giving himself his pep talk any worries he had slipped off him like the water of his pelt as he left the stream. He was looking forward to seeing his grandponies before the winter sets in. It was hard to get around once the blizzards started. He headed back to the teepee. As he was rounding the corner he saw a familiar pink tail duck around the corner and then the sweet voice of Forte’s daughter calling out to her. He picked up his pace as he trotted over.
“Sorry I’m late. Just wanted to clean up.” He nodded to Starlet before nuzzling into Forte. “Is everyone ready to head out?” He asked them. When both mares nodded he took the lead, leading them to the clearing where his side of the family would be meeting them. He wondered who would be there, he know that every-pony had a life and couldn’t always make it to the larger gatherings. So there was always a change of faces. He felt a surge of energy and glanced back to Forte and Starlet. He hadn’t noticed the flowers before.
“Who are the flowers for Starlet?” He asked the mare, and when she told him they were for Syn, he smiled brightly. She was such a sweet mare. He hoped that she found a stal-or rather, a mate in general who treated her right! Once in the clearing, Orrin looked around to see if anyone else had arrived yet.

Synestra was excited for today. Orrin was coming to visit before the weather turned too nasty for them to travel and he was bringing his own mate and family with him. It would be good for the extended family to get to spend some time with the herd and for everyone to spend some time together before the winter snows locked them in for months on end. It had been a while since she had seen Orrin, other than a short meeting to set up this little gathering. and she hoped everything was good him and Forte. She was also looking forward to meeting Starlet, who was Forte's daughter.
The grey mare paced about waiting for the three to arrive while the others waited further away. She glanced back towards her family, smiling at the sight of them, while not everyone had come today to the gathering she knew that in a future visit them would all come and poor Orrin would be overwhelmed with how large his family and extended family had gotten.

Ah! And there was Syn. It didn’t take long for Orrin to find the mother of his child. His eyes found the grey mare and took her in. She looked happy and healthy. So things much be going well. He couldn’t see who else had arrived with her but Orrin turned and nodded with his head to Forte and Starlet before starting to walk over. He wanted to run to her and see his which of his children came, or if both did. He was hoping for both since he wouldn’t get to see them again until the spring came. The dried up grass crunched under his hooves as he walked and then again under the hooves for Forte and Starlet.
It was odd how the grass dried out as it did. He and the other horses stood out so well against the changing leaf colors and paling grass. It was certainly scenic and they lucked out with a sunny day too. As he approached he greeted Syn.
“Synstra, it’s great to see you.” He smiled and stepped to the side. “You’ve met Forte and this here is her daughter Starlet.” As he introduced the mare he watched her look down shyly before boldening herself up and smiling to the other Synstra. “Starlet, this is Synstra. My past mate and mother of my first children.” He beamed proudly at the mention of his children. Synstra had been a great mother to them and they grew up so wonderfully he felt like he might explode with pride having everyone meeting. It felt like this every time one of these gatherings came to be. Forte followed behind Orrin and tilted her head to the side. She smiled upon greeting the other mare and nosed her daughter forward. “It’s so wonderful to see you again Synstra.” Forte spoke softly and fondly to the other mare. She too was curious of who else was going to be there. She really enjoyed being around Snystra and the rest of the family. They had been so welcoming.Starlet glanced down at the ground when all the attention was put on her. But she has to get over that nervous feeling. She didn’t want to hide behind her mother forever after all. Sure, she was going to be meeting some new horses, she was gaining a whole family! She wanted this.
“Ii-t’s very nice to meet you Synstra.” Starlet spoke around the flowers before stepping forward with her mother’s guidance and placing the flowers in front of the gray mare.

A smile grew on Synestra's lips as the three walked towards her. It had been too long since the last time Orrin had visited, but she also understood he couldn't always be here. Their children were grown now but these visits still meant a lot to her and to their sons, it was even more special now since Olo and Syrrin had children of their own. She stepped forward to give Orrin a friendly nuzzle and then turned and gave one to Forte as well. "It's great to see you both again." Synestra turned her attention to Starlet and smiled as the younger mare laid flowers down. "Thank you Starlet, and welcome to the family." She gave Starlet a greet nuzzle as well.
Hearing approaching hoof beats behind her Synestra turned to see the group who had come along with her closing the gap. " She turned back to Orrin and the others. "I wish they all could have come to see you." But some was better than none.Oloneric felt like a foal again waiting for his fathers arrival. He loved when his father visited and couldn't wait to see him again, and most of all introduce him to Pembroke and Whisper. If only his other children had come along, but they had chosen to stay behind to help the rest of the herd with some pre-winter prep. "Father!" He called out as he came up to the group. Coming to a stop he glanced back at his mate and son, before looking back to his father, Forte and Starlet. "This is my mate Whisper, and my son Pembroke." He couldn't help but smile wide as he introduced his father to his son. "Our other children, Blossom and Sykes, are back helping grandfather to get things ready for winter." Next time he would make sure all his children were here to meet their extended family. He looked back to Whisper and Pembroke. "This is my father Orrin, his mate Forte and Forte's daughter Starlet."Whisper followed happily behind Oloneric, making sure that Pembroke was with her but not being rushed too much. "It's good to meet you all." Whisper smiled to all three of them. "I hope your journey here went well." Feeling Pembroke press against her side she lowered her head and nuzzled her son, he was still nervous around strangers but she knew in time he would open up to them.Pembroke picked up on the excitement of his parents and was eager to meet these new members of the family. He had been told about Orrin and his family before but this would be the first time meeting his other grandfather. Pembroke stopped beside his mother and looked at the three new Usdia standing in front of them. Now he started to feel nervous, sure this was his grandfather and his family but he was still feeling shy. Pressing himself into his mothers side he took comfort from her presence.Synestra watched as everyone was introduced to each other and then spotted Lapin finally catching up with the group. "And this is my daughter Lapin. She is our herds healer." She told them proudly. "Syrrin decided to stay behind with his children as well to help prepare for winter." Surely they would understand the need to get things ready before the snow set in, especially when dealing with a group as big as their herd was now.Lapin followed behind the others, though a bit more slowly. As the healer of the herd she always had her eyes open for any plants or herbs that she may need to collect before winter set in. Not spotting anything of significance at the moment she caught up with the others and nodded her greeting to everyone.LunaRei_SilverBlood So sorry for the delay in reply.

Orrin smiled to Oloneric as he stood close to Forte's side. "It is so nice to meet you Whisper and especially you Pembroke." Orrin lowered himself down to level with the colt hoping that would help the foal feel more comfortable with coming over to say hi. His ears leaned forward hopefully. Scarlet would have a good time with Pembroke if they both were able to overcome the nervousness.
"Forte and I are trying to have foals as well. So hopefully by the next gathering we'll have some little ones to play with you little ones." He smiled some, his green eyes glancing up at Forte. It was amazing how large the family had grown. He couldn't help but feel excited.
"Yeah, I hear the winter this year will be harsh. So it's good that the others were able to stay behind to help get things ready. I can already feel my winter coat coming in." Forte shuffled her foot with a blush. She couldn't wait to have small hooves running around again. She grinned over at Oloneric's mate Whisper. "Oh my, Whisper you're mane is so full. You'll have to tell me your secret." She gave a delightful laugh, hoping that would break the ice a bit. She was very friendly anyways. Starlet giggled when Synstra gave her a nuzzle and her tail wagged as she then noticed the foal. She glanced at her mother as she hooves got anxious. Foals were fun! She could roll around with them and play! But she knew that if she got to excited she would scare the little colt so she had to take in a deep breath and calm herself. "Your family is so lovely Synstra. I'm so happy to be able to be a part of it!"
