 Danielle got home tiredly from school. He was glad it was a Friday so he could enjoy his new game. He had saved his money for its sale premiere and got out early just to get it. He threw his bag to next to the door in his room and turned on his Xbox. He went down to the kitchen to get himself something to drink and opened the fridge. He got himself a soda as well as a bag of chips and went up to his room. His parents weren't home yet and they only bugged him to do chores. He took out the game already in the Xbox and put in the new game. He couldn't wait to play it.

Annaleze, being a part of the game, spurred to life as everything else on screen did. She looked around, then at the new boy. She stared at him. These pixels were her world but he was different. She stared at him, deep in thought. ❞☆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━✾━━━━━━━━━━━━ ☆

Danielle watched the screen come up and saw a girl there, almost staring straight at him. He felt that kind of weird, but that's how most games were. He opened up setting and started to create a character he would be playing. When he clicked the finished button, though, his game got frozen. The character he was going to play was not moving around at all. He tried hitting his console only for it to end up buzzing strangely. A light started coming out of it and engulfed him. He closed his eyes and tried to cover block the light from his eyes. By the time it cleared up, he looked around and....it wasn't his room. It looked like...his game. How could that be. He didn't even know that he even looked like his game character

"You're not from here are you?" she asked as her head tilted to the side questioningly. Without waiting for an answer, Annaleze asked another question "Where did you come from?" Immediately after she asked, a pop-up opened in front of the boy giving him the option to select his home country. Annaleze swayed her hips back and forth as she waited for him to select one. He could just tell her of course, but her programming didn't let her speak while the player was making a choice. This design was so the player could make his/her choice in the game without being distracted by the voices of in-game characters.❞☆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━✾━━━━━━━━━━━━ ☆

Danielle was startled a bit and turned to the girl now in front of him. He was startled again by the pop-up window in front of him. It showed all the countries come up and didn't know if he should answer with his voice or the pop-up. He thought maybe he should go with a different country than where he was really from. He clicked on the United Kingdom instead of United States of America. "United Kingdoms..I'm from England," he said after the pop-up disappeared.

"Have you played before, or is this your first time visiting Aldhaven?" she asked and again a pop-up opened on the screen: 'Tutorial? [yes][no]' Annaleze's hips swayed as she stood unable to speak. There were always so many pop-ups in the beginning. Her blonde hair blew in the virtual wind and leaves fell from trees in the distance. ❞☆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━✾━━━━━━━━━━━━ ☆

Danielle turned to the girl and saw her be happy. He shook her hand and calmed down a little. He was going to say this was his first time there only for another pop-up to come. He clicked on 'Yes' and wondered what would happen afterward. He didn't even know how he even got there. Something was up.

She was an archer and had a bow always with her. She noticed he wasn't following and turned around "Come on, follow me" She began walking again and stopped in a busy area "this is the market, here you'll find a blacksmith. from him you can buy armor and weapons, and from the farmed you can purchase food for healing." Annaleze brushed her hair from her face, she hated tutorials, why did they have to be so formal. She led him out to a pasture where pigs roamed "you can collect different items from different kills. from pigs you'd get raw pork which can be eaten to regain health or sold to the farmer for gold" She looked up at Danielle who was substantially taller just in time for another pop up 'Repeat Tutorial?[yes][no]' ❞☆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━✾━━━━━━━━━━━━ ☆

Danielle saw her move again and watched her go. It was as if she was a real person. He was pulled out of his thoughts at the second time and followed her. He looked around and was surprised by how everything worked. It was like any other game. Only this time he was in it and not using his controls. When the pop-up came up again, he looked at her and saw her go still again, but with everything still in motion. It was amazing. He clicked the 'No' button since it seemed basic and easy enough. "I got everything. Thanks for showing me around," he said.

☆ ɐıɹɐZ ǝzǝןɐuu∀ ☆ ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± ❝ "I've never been outside of Aldhaven" Annaleze said, speaking out of her programming "I wonder whats its like beyond the pastures and this small town" Annaleze was shocked by her ability to speak outside of just what she was programmed to say. She felt like for once she was more than just a group of pixels. She wanted to get out of Aldhaven and go someplace else, someplace new. "Take me with you!" she blurted out, unable to contain herself. Annaleze was talking, and saying what she wanted to without going through a meaningless script that someone else came up with. She looked up at Danielle, in shock with herself, and though feeling embarrassed about her outburst, hoping he'd say yes. She was an Archer, not a tour guild and she was sick of pretending, she had an outstandingly high level and just wished there was reason. If he agreed, there would be. ❞☆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━✾━━━━━━━━━━━━ ☆

Danielle was a bit surprised by her reaction. She seemed to go back to her normal self, like she was just another person. Maybe that movie about games having their own personality outside of the gaming business. "Well, I could use some help around the game even if I know the basics," he said before she blurted she wanted to go with him. "Sure. I won't mind at all. I was never against girls going on adventures. I could use the help around." He wondered if there was someone who can help him with his dilemma. He liked being in the game, but he preferred to be in his own home.

I can't leave here without your help." she looked down at the cobblestone path and shifted her weight back and forth "you have to add me to your party first, and if you disband a party with me outside of Aldhaven, the game will see me as a virus and attack." She looked back up at him "If I die in this game, I won't come back the way you will." She looked away from Danielle again "so if you want to change your mind now, i understand"❞☆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━✾━━━━━━━━━━━━ ☆

Danielle stood still when she wrapped his arms around her in a hug and smiled softly. 'I guess this isn't so bad,' he thought. He then hugged her a bit before letting go of her. He listened to her explain and nodded. "Alright then. I'll add you. Then we can go out together," he said. "And I don't think I'll be able to come back as well when I die." He wondered how to make the menu window pop up and concentrated until it did. He then clicked for her to join his party and closed it. "There. That should do it."
