There was a little cloud of doom and gloom hanging over Cirrus’ head today. The other shoppers studiously avoided making eye contact or going near his general direction, just because the second anybody neared him it was if all the fun and joy in the world was suddenly leeched away.

It wasn’t uncommon for Cirrus to find himself in such a state, but he usually did in the comfort of his own home, where he could drink large amounts of tea, curl up in his pillows and throw salt around at invisible demons. Instead he was in aisle six, staring at cracker boxes as if they were responsible for every ill in the world and he couldn’t do a damn thing about it.

The Pegasus gave a very, very big sigh and continued to stare vacantly at the seaweed flavoured crackers.
