Good people of the GCA it's time to do a little Halloween event planning. Now I know we had a thread about Halloween but that one was going on the notion of getting a plot for the event we might not be getting. In this particular thread I want to gather ideas for what you guys feel will be easy to run contests, games, and giveaways that will attract people to the thread and keep them posting. I'd really love to get a clear idea of what we're doing and giving away in the next couple of weeks so we can start to put together our thread ahead of the event.
To start off here's an overview of what we got so far from the current round of crowdfunding. On top of that here are a few things to keep in mind about the items we have.
✘ We have at least two of each GOSH crew doll on the list.
✘ We have two of each Right to Bare Arms body mod generator.
✘ We have three of the Prefurable Furmilliar Comfurts (pink sweater).
✘ The Agape's Cut we have is for Animals.
✘ We also own a pair of Red Horns of the Demon.
✘ I'm totally not against handing out prize bundles.
On top of the prizes we currently have 23,513,348,732 in gold funds but we can always use more.
So now that we know what we have in the way of prizes here's what we did for our last event.
✘ Door prizes determined by random number generator.
✘ Best Dressed Human avatars.
✘ Best Dressed Paws avatars.
✘ Mini random number generator game.
✘ A food stand.
✘ Hand drawn charms.
Not everything we did last time can be done this time due to school schedules and work loads for classes. I'm not expecting an exact repeat of the last event, however, I would like to try and have around the same number of contests and games for the Halloween event. Door prizes are the easiest thing for me to run so I'll be handling that again. If anyone wants to run a contest or hand out art and have it hosted in our event thread just let me know.
Things to lock down for the event:
✘ Number of door prizes.
✘ Do we want to do have a page number giveaway (IE first post on a certain page gets a random prize)?
✘ Should we include gold as part of the prize packs for contests?
✘ If we aren't able to do art this time what other givaway or contest would be fun and easy to have?
✘ How should we give out a full set of GOSH dolls (we have enough for two full sets)?
✘ Any kind of theme you'd like to see for the event thread?

I have been wanting to get a chibi version of Gino to use for things. I don't know if restricting it to chibis only would drive people away or if we should have a best chibi category on top of regular art. I want a way to get a chibi of Gino or any of the other GOSH crew for things like using in our future event stuff without needing to pay way too much and this does seem like a good way to go about getting one.
@ Guild: So who'd be up for us running a fan art contest? And if we go through with it just how many prizes should we hand out for it? Don't forget I still want to do the two Avatar contests on top of everything as well.

Maybe we should try to promote Gaia and the trees for this event as well? Maybe have halloween trees given out as prizes or something? I mean drawings of them. If I have time I might be able to do something like that, but don't count me in quite yet.
If not that, I don't mind help hosting a Fan Art contest. Also I was kind of hoping to do some Tarot Card Readings to get people to bump more!

Having two separate categories would be helpful, Regular and Chibi art.

You do what you think you have the time for. I can definitely put you down for something and if you don't think you can make trees you can do a tarot both again. Anything to boost thread activity would be awesome.
That does sound like a good solution to that problem. I've also floated the idea of fan art contest before the SOP gang to see what kind of outside interest there would be in such a thing.

It definitely wouldn't hurt to see if anyone from the SOP gang wants to participate, it pretty much is like a sister group to those in both the Casimir and Nyx groups.

I was thinking of doing some kind of random deal where someone posts a little graphic or something and the first person to quote that post gets a small Halloween type prize. It could be either some type of candy or one of the Halloween based treats or pumpkin items.

It's looking as though time travel might be a big portion of the theme for the event. We could play along with the theme and send everyone back in time to early days of Porta Denia, either before or right after the uprising that freed the town from the Fattorino Mafioso. So things would either be steampunk mixed with the looks from 1908 to 1918 (When Aero Fattorino had control over the island) or the 1920s when the town was getting its first legal start.
So we'd either be dropped in the middle of a crime infested town with people living in fear or a town trying to reverse the reputation given to it by the presence of the Fattorino Mafioso. That is, if people are up for something like that.
Also to gauge opinions here. Should we have some kind of page number posting giveaway to keep people posting? I know Hassli's group has done that in past events and I've won something from it for being lucky enough to have the first post on the right page number.

We have a RP contest thread where every first post on each page that poster gets a prize and the rp half puts us in a time warp. Past present and future all meet up in a Time limbo.

I've also won a RNG from the D-Party before. Either that our your idea would be good =) It would be low-maintenance yet any host/ess helping out could award the smaller prizes. Say, a small item for every 5 pages (like an item from the newly updated HWR) and a larger item for other pages. Hitting pages and RNG's were wildly popular when the NPCs were giving away swim wear in the Beach Party forum. Boo!

I dunno, I get an AU vibe from the first tier of Ivan about rewriting the past :3 What we usually do is have a main thread for the event detailing the theme, what contests we're having, what prizes people can win, and links to other threads and guilds we're affiliated with that people hang out in. Then, for things like our Best Dressed contests and other larger contests we have separate submission and voting threads off in the Test forum to keep things nice and tidy. Usually we have three to four threads tops depending on larger contests.
