Occasionally a new sign went up on the corkboard in the cafeteria, something that Abbi was always quick to look over because it was always good to be in the know. Nearly every time the notice was something she had no feelings on, or not strong enough ones to act upon, but there was always the hope things might change.
It just so happened that finally a notice went up that caught the girl's eye, but also that felt like a blessing; Someone knew something about tattoos!

A few weeks ago Abbi had acquired her first, something small on either wrist that she was awfully proud of, but really growing tired of how itchy it was. Ecstatic at the idea that someone could help, the girl sat down at a table and whipped out her phone.

Hi hi! OuO// You don't know me but I saw your sign in the caf about tattoos?
( ・◇・) I have some questions, would it be cool if we meet up sometime today or something???

Now all she had to do was wait!

//Absolutely! I’m in room 131! Swing by any time and I’ll answer your questions!//

The reply was fairly immediate, but maybe a little surprising since he said to swing by ‘any time’. Unlikely that she knew he’d had a rather hostile run-in with true monsters in the haunted house. He was still a little unsure what he’d done to get quite that kind of reaction, but perhaps that was just in the creature’s nature. Maybe he was thinking of them as too ‘human’.

Remiel said something about treating others the way you wanted to be treated, but he had the odd feeling she didn’t mean the monster.

Though the reply was fairly quick, Abbi was an easily bored girl and had wandered off for a bag chips to munch on before she'd realized there was a message waiting for her on her phone. Quick to peruse it, she sat and chomped down on her snack quickly before she replied.

Awesome! I'll head by now! I'm in the caf, but I'll be over in like 5! *o*/// Thanks so much!!

Not wasting any time, Abbi took the chips with her, walking as casually as one could while eating chips. Well, actually, surely there was someone who could do it better than she because she tripped three times and decided to just finish the bag before she made her way out.
Since his room was somewhat close to her own, there was no worry of getting lost and before long the teen was standing in front of a door marked 131.
She took a breath and knocked quickly against the door in a peppy pattern (and resisted the urge to sing any songs about building snowmen).

“Come in!” Called the voice from within, accented though if the new zeland accent was familiar to her or not…

“S’not locked!” He added just to be sure that she’d actually open the door.
He was in the process of trying to shrug on a shirt thanks to his recent run in at the Haunted House. At least it hadn’t –destroyed- his tattoos even if the claws across his abdomen had done some interesting new break-ups to the top edge of the ones that arched up his side from his hip.

“You must be Abbi! What can I do yeh for?”

The door Abbi had knocked upon was opened by her own hand, but then immediately slammed shut when she realized the guy inside was struggling to put a shirt on.

"I'M SO SORRY!" She yelled through the door, both hands slapped against her face as though that would keep the blush from forming on her skin. "I DIDN'T MEAN-- YOU SAID-- UM" Wait, why was she apologizing for something that wasn't her fault?

Carefully the door was edged open once more, a blue eye peeking around to see if the man inside had finished getting dressed.
"Sorry, I didn't meant to um... Barge in... Are you um... Ready for me?"

Zac blinked as the door closed again, it was just a shirt, surely Americans had seen people on the beach without shirts.

“….Ah…Sorry, it was just a shirt, I didn’t mean to ah…” He apologized hesitantly, flabbergasted by the mix of sensibilities here on the island. One bloke had been fine with him dropping trowsers to show off his ta moko, another acted like the placement was a nightmare, Rep had gotten designs in rather not so dissimilar positions, and well…now this.

“Sorry! I just…” He repeated and got the better part of the shirt buttoned.
“I mean I wasn’t starkers or anything, I thought everyone had seen people at the beach and what have you. It’s on it’s buttoned, you’re safe!”

With time to think about it, Abbi arrived at the conclusion that she might have overreacted just a tinsy bit.
Which would explain why the next time she was given permission to enter, she practically jumped into the room, as though to show she was totally not a weirdo.
"N-n-no sorry that was my fault! Um! I thought that like you weren't ready and so you um didn't want me to er--" Flushed and prepared to bolt back out the room and call this whole thing a wash, Abbi fretted in the doorway. "I've seen people on the beach yeah, but that was like... They chose that? I thought I was... I thought I wasn't consented um I'm not saying this right... I was trying to be polite um! I'm sorry!" She could just turn around and never have to see this guy again right? Just bolt off down the hallway, transfer Islands, never relive the moment she waywardly assumed a man getting dressed hadn't wanted to be seen when he'd invited her into his room.

"Starkers? Whazzat... WAIT! Oh like stark naked? HA!" Its that one little weird word that catches her attention only to have her realize his whole accent isn't something she's used to.
"I've never heard starkers... Where are you from?" Still fully prepared to run away due to her own embarassment, Abbi at least felt she could try to be friendly before she never saw this guy ever again and avoided him for the rest of forever.

“Ok… Hold on.” He held up his hands palm out to placate her “One, have a seat, two…breathe, breathe, ok? No the end of the world, I shocked you, I wasn’t thinking about it. My bad.”

He hunched down slightly into his shoulders to seem smaller at the least to be less, he hoped, uncomfortable.

“I’m from New Zeland, bit of a long haul eh?” You ever been?”

Not wanting to make more of a fool of herself, Abbi nodded once and took the offered seat. Maybe mentioning that she was normally skittish was a good idea? But she was, still, unwilling to seem that lame and just pretended she hadn't shrieked to see a boy's chest.
In her defense, a girl had to be warned of that sort of thing.

"New Zealand! Oh! No, I've never been! BUT THEY HAVE HOBBIT DOORS SO I WANNA GO!" Especially since she'd heard the hobbit doors were still in tact. How fun was that!?
"There's another guy from New Zealand here on the Island... I mean I'm sure there's like... A bunch of New Zealanders running around but uh yeah! That's super cool!" A less nervous smile is given, the girl trying not to wring her hands in her lap.
"I'm guessin' that's where ya learned tattoos?"

He gave a startled laugh but nodded. “Aro, he’s from there too, same city actually.” He grinned.

“But yes, Hobbit doors and wizards aside that’s where I learned tattoo.” He grinned at her. “What can I do to help you?” He asked “You said you had questions about tattoos, did you want to talk about getting one, designing one?” He tipped his head curious hoping to settle the poor skittish girl.

He felt awful about upsetting her so much, but he really didn’t mean to upset her, he’d never thought about it.

"Wow! Really?! That's totally awesome!" Wasn't Auckland a big city? That made sense to meet someone from the same place if it was so big, but it must be nice to have someone to relate to about their former homes.
"Well you can't forget rangers and dwarves and elves and orcs too." Abbi grinned, all too excited he knew about Hobbits. "Have you ever seen the doors?" She leaned forward as this was a very important question.

Oh wait yeah tattoos right oh yeah!
"Uh, kinda!" A chirpy laugh left the teen as she pulled back her sleeves and offered the underside of her wrists to Zac. On her left wrist there is inked "Heads" above a Bird and
on her right wrist there is "Tails" above a Cage. An all too proud grin is flashed at the man.
"I got them around a week ago and I just wanted to make sure they were healing ok? They're super itchy." Her mouth screwed up into a pucker because now that she'd said it they'd begun to itch and she had been instructed that scratching them would ruin them.

A warm smile spread over his face at her concern and he nodded, a tight lipped smile as he tried hard not to laugh.
"Itching is normal, just don't scratch it!" he said tracing fingers very lightly over the marks. "They feel alright, here…" he turned and fished in his desk pulling out a little thing of cream.

"You probably have some, but just put some more cream on it, if you think you can't help but itch, slap on them a bit. Sounds stupid but it helps." he nodded.

"They are healing, that's all. Itching duration seems to depend on the person, at least yours are somewhere easy to reach! Nice work, very nice work." He nodded.

When he runs fingertips over her wrists she cannot help but sputter and laugh, though Abbi is good and keeps her hands stretched out on display.
"Yeah, the uh... The lady who did them said to smack them and it helps a little but uggghhhhhh~" If it isn't already quite easily showcased, the teen had next to no self control when it comes to little things like this, or much else really, and the only thing that has kept her from sating the itch is the fact she knows she will ruin her new marks.

But she seems to forget about it a second later and turns an optimistic grin up at Zac.
"Yeah? You like them? They're from a game but um! Um! What do you have?" It was totally tattoo sharing time right?

“Ah… mostly ta-moko” he said. “Which you likely saw part of when I ah…told you to come in.” He rubbed the back of his neck apologetic. “Pardon if I don’t show the rest, if you were uncomfortable with shirtless then I think you’d really not like most of the rest.” He laughed sheepishly.

“But yeah, they are sweet.” He nodded approving. “Hmm… another trick you can do.”

He twisted to his desk and then set his wrist against the smooth edge of the desk and rolled it back and forth.

“Never scrape it back and forth, but its an alternative to slapping at it.”

"Ta... Mako? Moko?" She repeated, not familiar with that. Was it anything like 'aroha'? "Oh! I wasn't uncomfortable!" Sort of???? Whatever, she was sticking to that. "Sorry again... I just wasn't expecting like yanno... Partially undressed dude. But I'm sure the rest is really cool!" But why would she be not ok with the rest? Was it rude or something?
A scoff from Viveca and things made more sense, only Abbi had one very important question.
"BUT DIDN'T IT HURT?!"

With a pursed mouth of concentration the girl leaned forward to watch him, nodding at the motion.
"That looks pretty simple... But I'm really bad at like... Self control I guess?" One of her fists knocked gently against her temple. "So I think I'll tough it out." She smiled at him in thanks nonetheless, leaning back into her chair.

"So! You been at Deus long?"
