His plan involved stalking a drunk young man on his way home, not once offering any assistance as he stumbled his way through the dark and empty streets of the business district. A good knight, or at least a good Samaritan, would have felt obligated to walk the man home, knowing full well that he was only making himself the perfect target for either thieves or Negaverse officers. Sarras was neither.
Tonight, Sarras was a hunter, and this drunken fool was the bait. His prey? Hopefully, Buddingtonite, or someone that could lure the general there. The business district was where he hunted before, so he hoped Lady Luck was on his side. He kept his eyes open for movement and his senses on high alert... the hunter had no intention of becoming the hunted tonight.
The squire was right to assume that Buddingtonite would be in the business district and that a drunken idiot would have made the perfect bait, as Buddingtonite was drawn to the sound of someone tripping and making quite a racket. What stopped the general from seeking out this easy target was his promise to Serpentine to stay put until he arrived, as well as his own thoughts.
You should bring up those nightmares...
The nightmares... he cringed just thinking about it, and he tried to push the thought to the back of his head. He wished Serpentine would hurry up... though, with the racket that the drunken young man was making, Buddingtonite was becoming all the more curious. "Hmmmm, I should be able to nap that energy and have a little fun, and get back in time, and Serpentine wouldn't be any the wiser."
That's all he needed as far as convincing goes, and the rose-clad general wasted no time, dusting himself off as he rose to his feet, and made his way towards the target. Just a quick in and out procedure, he told himself... no one would ever know!
Wuthering gee
Sorry for the delayed start.
