Noemi clutched her trident really close as she looked at her sparring for the day.
"So...So...it is good to see you again Aro..." She said this as she diverted his hugs and arms because once they enveloped you, there was no escape.
"And...and you are really okay with us sparring?"

Arorangi was smiling brightly at Noemi, and had most certainly intended to give the girl a hug in greeting - but then he had seen her shrink away, and he had thought better of it, instead reaching out to give her a friendly pat on the shoulder (he did wish she would have let him hug her, though, hugs were nice and reassuring).
"I am okay with it, as long as you are okay with it, my friend!" said Arorangi, with a serious look in Noemi's direction. "I am sure that you will be very good at what you do, so as long as you are okay with sparring, I am okay with it!"

It wasn't that she didn't like Aro it was that she wasn't used to him and thus, kept her distance. After all, she'd like to think hugs were earned through friendship! And hugging boys seemed different then hugging girls.
"I am okay with it, si." She smiled shyly, "I...I will defend first...if you don't mind? And then I will...um attack you? It is good practice to be good at both...for the field..."
She took a moment. Clearing her mind with a deep breath.
"S...So were you at the mission?"

Arorangi gave a fervent nod. "But of course, Noemi, please do defend first, and then I will go ahead and start, and we will just let it go from there! Do not worry too much, I am sure you are more than capable of handling yourself, as you are already a rank above me!"
He beamed her an encouraging smile, which faded just a little at the mention of the mission. Arorangi twisted his spear around and held it between his two large hands, already getting his feet into position.
"Yes," he said, a little more quieter. "Yes, I was there, it was a very intense mission. What did you think?"

Aro was very kind, so Noemi set herself up, summoning her trident in front of her.
"Y...Yes...Oh I suppose that is true..." She nodded. "I will not hurt you either!" She waited one more moment and then looked at him.
Looked at him with sad eyes.
"It was avoidable." She murmured, "But...." She looked away, "Very scary."

He waited patiently for Noemi to get into position, and then Arorangi swung his spear around in front of himself, wrapping thick fingers around the wood. A smile was on his face as he said cheerfully, "I am glad to hear that, my friend!"
But she was looking at him with a saddened expression, even as Arorangi was rushing toward her, swinging the spear. He frowned a little, sweeping his dark hair off of one shoulder.
"Are you all right, Noemi?" he asked her gently. "Did something happen?"
