At about eleven o'clock one morning there was a pounding on a certain trainee's doorway and a certain other pair of silly Intermediates were standing hand in hand in the hallway.
"OLIVER BUDDY GET UP we're going to get coffee, come with us!"

When Oliver answered the door, his hair was disheveled from laying on the bed, and various articles and books from the library lay amidst papers with scribbles on them. He had clearly been doing work in the comfort of his own room. Whether it was real and required work, or personal interest in the guise of work, it would be hard to draw a line between the two. "Um... Did you, uh.... want me to get you guys coffee?" Oliver asked hesitantly.

Shiloh popped his head out from behind Ian, grinning widely. “No, silly, we’re going to get the coffee. You know, together! You look like you could use a break, anyway.” Shiloh was incredibly chipper, rocking on his heels as he snuck a peek into the other hunter’s room. He was curious by nature and unable to help it, but he didn’t do it with ill intent, he just wanted to know things. “We can go to the cafeteria, their coffee isn’t that bad. Maybe we can grab a bagel or something to go with it, I’m famished. A granola bar is not nearly enough for breakfast.”

Ian would have rolled his eyes, but that would have been bad, so instead he said patiently, "Oliver, you don't always have to get coffee for people, okay? Just because a certain someone is always on your case, doesn't mean everyone is."
He reached out and ruffled Oliver's hair, squeezing Shiloh's hand simultaneously as he flashed a smile at the pair of them. "Like Shy said, we're gonna go get some coffee together, and we wanted you to join us! Come on, kid, let's go and relax."

"Oh." Oliver could not keep the surprise out of his voice. This was the first time he had been invited out for something like coffee. The trainee didn't even seem to notice Shiloh's inquisitive peeking, but he did take a slight step back almost instinctively in a 'welcome to my room' sort of gesture. There was not much to see to indicate what sort of person lived there, just a half bag of junk food on the desk, and a round dinosaur plush toy on the bed amidst the papers. It took a moment longer for Oliver to process the request, and accept the gentle nudge taking him out of his comfort zone. "O-okay, I can go," he said, a little bit of shy awkwardness becoming visible in his body language. "But, um... I think the machine by the labs has better coffee? A-at least that's what Jack says, and he's, uh, very particular..." The last little murmur was added as a nervous afterthought.

“Someone?” Shiloh asked, looking between them. “Is someone bullying you, Oliver? Do you need any help?” His concern was genuine, as he looked Oliver up and down. He wondered who he could have gotten involved with, hoping for the poor hunter’s sake that it wasn’t some of the rougher crew. But as Oliver nervously agreed to accompany them, he accidentally let a big enough hint slip out and Shiloh latched onto it, exclaiming loudly. “Is Jack bullying you, Oliver? I swear, he’s cruising for a bruising himself, someone’s got to teach him you can’t just go around being a jerk to everyone.” He scratched the back of his head with a sigh. “He does know his coffee though,” he relented, though he still didn’t look happy about the idea of Oliver getting pushed around. Forcing a smile, he gave a quick glance to Ian, before swing his arm over Oliver’s shoulder. “To the labs then!”

Ian could not help rolling his eyes, and probably would have rolled his eyes into infinity if it would not have been very uncomfortable to do just that.
"Okay, Oliver, here's what you do," said Ian sternly, pointing a finger in Oliver's direction. "You've seriously gotta tell Jack to stop being such a d**k to you, okay, just because he's got his panties in a twist doesn't mean he can take it out on you okay?"
He gave a decisive nod that accompanied Shiloh's statements, and then gave them both a big smile.
"Okay, serious talk over, time for fun, let's go goof off, you rascals."

"H-he's not bullying me!" Oliver insisted, waving both hands in front of him. "I-it's fine, really!" Sure Jack had his moods, but it wasn't like he was cruel or anything. And fetching coffee was far more preferable than violence. Not that he feared Jack would beat him up or anything! The worst he ever got was a displeased glare and some curt words, and it seemed pretty normal to run into people like that on the island. If coffee made it better, Oliver would bring it. He didn't believe his words had convinced either of the guys. Especially after how easily both of them had jumped on the 'bullying' idea! Jack wasn't that bad. So he sheepishly tried to avoid that topic now that he had his say. "Um, okay, fun..." He muttered, managing a little smile. But when he started in the direction of the coffee machine it was only Shiloh's arm over his shoulder preventing him from falling into his usual quick coffee-run pace.
