Something was...different ever since the last family reunion. Seeing everyone there, so happy and rambunctious, he was filled with a warmth he hadn't felt in a long time. Particularly with his adorable new sisters. Babies used to be admittedly a bit of a nuisance, but at that gathering suddenly they were downright adorable. The two males had been living together for well over a year now, and he wasn't getting any younger while as his parents kept popping out new ones...

Maybe he should approach Sigurd about the topic? He rubbed the back of his neck. How would I even ask? Just go up to him and say, lets have a baby? The demonic sighed. He even chickened out telling Sigurd he loved him. How was he going to straight up ask about having children? He fidgeted, glancing out the window to the suns position. Sigurd would be home soon, and the fae always had a knack for sensing when something was on his mind.

User ImageSigurd grunted as he hauled a moderately sized deer home. He'd been out hunting for a couple of days, needing a moment to gather himself after meeting all of Shageki's family. It was a good excuse, the house did need more meat, but that's all it was. An excuse. The fae shook his head, blonde locks falling into his eyes. The morning had been turning into afternoon at an almost frightening pace, and Sigurd was almost positive something required his attention at home.

It had been nice to meet his prince's family. Beyond nice actually, they all were really happy for Shageki. What Sigurd hadn't understood is why Shage felt like he had needed to hide their relationship. Was Sigurd that much of an embarrassment to him? The fae sighed, trying not to think on it too much. Shage had his reasons, he was sure of it. Maybe he was just flustered and didn't know how to handle what was being offered to him. Or maybe he really was trying to reject him and Sigurd couldn't take a hint. He frowned, that wouldn't be the case. Shage was easier to read than that. If it was rejection, Sigurd would have known by now. Wouldn't he?

It was about then that Sigurd felt that little tingling in the back of his mind. That little tingling that he got every time he thought he was needed desperately by his prince. With another grunt, Sigurd doubled his speed in an effort to return to Shageki. It wasn't long before he was in the tiny clearing in front of their home, deer slung over his shoulders. "Shageki?" He called, looking for the blue demon.

Why was he so terrible at expressing himself? Surely the fae knew his feelings though...right? Sure, he didn't outright say anything, but he just showed his mate to every pae in his entire family. That showed how much he loved him...right?

Ugh, when did I become such an idiot? He rubbed his forehead as he made his way to the bathroom. Dipping a hand into the cool basin of water he flashed a few handfuls onto his face. As soon as they got home Sigurd had run off hunting. Certainly they were low on the meat, but there seemed to be some sort of undertone to it.

No, he was being ridiculous. Sigurd wasn't a passive aggressive kind of pae. He wrung his hands just as his name caught his ears. Speak of the fae. The demon quickly strode out of the humble home. "Sigurd! I missed you." Shageki quickly moved to greet the other.

Sigurd smiled, happy to see his prince. "I missed you too Shage." The fae returned, shifting his weight to gain some comfort from standing with a deer slung across his shoulders. He didn't want to drop it until he reached the gutting table. Which meant no immediate hug for Shage. It was a thought that saddened Sigurd.

"I am sorry that took so long. The game in this area are starting to learn to avoid me. I have to go further and further to catch anything." He shook his head, not really wanting to think about it. This was truth, he had to keep going out farther to make sure the game wasn't catching onto him. If he had to change from hunting to gathering who knew what he would do. He certainly wasn't as good at it as Shage or his mother were. "What have you been up to?" The fae smiled, curious as always.

It was a shame he couldn't hug the fae, but that didn't stop him from leaning forward to softly kiss him. A blush spread on his features at being so bold in the open. "It's okay. I'm just glad you're back...welcome home Sig." Shageki would say it was distressing for him to be without meat, but hunting had never been his forte. There was nothing wrong with going vegetarian for a little bit, contrary to what his siblings would say.

So. What had he been up to? "Well...I cleaned the place. And I found a great new gathering of fruit trees to the west." As he spoke he started drifting towards the gutting table, anxious to let Sigurd rest. No doubt the others 'shageki sense' would be going off the charts soon, if not already.

Sigurd smiled, enjoying the small display of affection. How could he have ever doubted Shage's feelings? "What fruit do they produce?" The fae questioned, following his Prince to the gutting table. He'd have some work to do before he could truly rest, but it was well worth it. Shage would be there the entire time. Wouldn't he?

"So, what's up Shage?" His head tilted off to the side, wondering if the other was going to hesitate around whatever it was he wanted to talk about. If that was the case he'd just have to wait. Sigurd was nosy, but not that nosy. No sense in pushing Shage to talk about something. "Or would you like to wait till after this deer is gutted?" The fae offered him an out. Sigurd wouldn't speak in absolutes like that, it wasn't any way to talk to anyone.

"Apples! They're even ripe right now." He spoke with a bit of a grin, proud of his accomplishment. Sigurd did so much, what with making the house and gathering their meat. It was nice when he was able to help ease the strain of day to day living. That and it was nice to make idle chatter instead of what was really on his mind...

He hoped too soon. The male didn't hop around the bush pretending he didn't know what the fae was talking about. They both knew each other too well for that. But he couldn't start talking about it right then and there. Romantic gushing of his feelings over the spilled innards of a fresh kill?

Pass.

"I'll spill...after you've finished with our friend on your shoulders." The demon spoke playfully as they walked behind their house. "Meanwhile I can tell you about the skunk I chased away." He laughed warmly even as his nose scrunched up in memory.

Sigurd would have shrugged about Shage's topic change, but it wasn't that big a deal. At least, not right now anyways. There were other things that needed to be done, namely gutting this deer so they could go inside and relax together. "Apples?" The fae grinned, "What color?" They were always good to take on hunting trips, and even better when they were served with a meal. A nice crisp addition to almost anything.

"He must have gotten out pretty quick, I don't smell anything. Or was that your doing?" Sigurd was still grinning. Shage was really good with the household stuff. He thought it a blessing his prince was willing to clean their home, he was certain he himself couldn't manage to keep up with that. He was already gone from home so often it wasn't even funny anymore. "Tell me about this skunk Shage." And he was honestly interested.

Delicious, apple crisps. Leave them out in the hot sun for a while and have yourself a delicious chip. That was a favorite he needed to get started on. "As green as our wings." So apples with a bit of a tart bite to them.

But the skunk. He nodded with a bit of a half smile. "Well, I was out pulling the weeds in the yard when I saw the pest. I rightfully could have just run inside and waited him to leave, but I couldn't let a skunk win. So I ran inside and got a basket and a broom." The male paused to let that sink in for a moment. "I held the basket up with one hand while using the broom like a sword." He moved his hands so one was a clentched fist by his chest and the other slightly raised slightly higher than his shoulder. "And commenced in battle. I'd coax the bugger with the broom." He jabbed with the hand that was over his shoulder. "While keeping the basket up as a barrier in case he sprayed. Finally shoo'd him away." Shageki lowered both hands to his side to resume normal walking. "...But on a not completely unrelated note, I've started to weave a new basket."

Sigurd smiled, apples as green as Shage's wings would most certainly be delicious. "Mmmm, I can't wait to share one with you, My Prince." Sigurd leaned over to gently kiss Shage's cheek.

Catching himself, Sigurd straightened his spine a bit as Shage launched into his tale of the battle of the skunk. He was listening intently until Shage said he had started weaving a new basket. Thank the Guardians that they'd managed to get to the table out back because Sigurd couldn't help but drop the deer as he laughed. Of course the epic battle had ruined the basket. But it sounded like his prince had fun. That was what was most important for the male.

"You fought well Young Warrior." He managed between laughs, highly amused at the situation.

When Sigurd started to laugh, he couldn't contain his own any longer. Soon they were doubled over the table, their laughter entwining into the skies above. It was moments like these that he felt so warm and comfortable with Sigurd. Like they really were made for each other. He ran a hand over his eyes, having teared up from laughing. "Why thank you my love, someone has to defend the castle while you're away!" Tick...tick...tick.

Oh Guardians.

Shage's laughter. It was surely a sound created by the guardians to cheer him out of any foul mood he could have ever gotten himself into. At least until he heard the next words out of Shage's mouth. The fae dead panned for a minute, jaw falling slack as the words registered.

That wasn't embarrassment over bringing home a man? It was... Sigurd was sent reeling. Everything he'd just been brooding about thrown out the window. The fae finally collected himself, realizing Shage probably was fretting to himself over there. With the widest smile he thought he would ever wear, Sigurd closed the distance between the two of them and kissed Shage with a mighty force. Demanding enough to let his partner know he felt the exact same way, but not so much that he wanted to overwhelm Shage.

His hands reached up, twisting through Shage's much shorter hair. "I love you too" he breathed, only backing up a hair's width of space.

Oh Great Guardians, the Goddesses, guiding spirits, what ever higher power. He had done it now. Words that previously were so hard to conjure had spilled out as effortlessly as breathing. Now they were staring at each other. Why was Sigurd just staring? His lips parted to say something else, anything else to follow up his statement. But nothing came out. And a moment later, he had no need to. As Sigurds lips touched his own, he wrapped his arms around him to pull him close. Certainly they had kissed before. Many times in fact. But never had his heart beat harder.

When the other pulled back, he felt his features spread in the giddiest grin of his life. Of course Sigurd loved him back. He never doubted that for an instant their entire relationship. "I've wanted to tell you for months. I love you. I love you. I love you." He could finally say it.

Perhaps, he could finally say the other things that were on his mind now?

Sigurd was having the hardest time containing his excitement, wanting to do far more than just kissing his prince. But Shageki just kept going. The demon had to know what he was bringing forth inside the fae. With a quiet groan, Sigurd broke from Shage's lips to kiss him along his neck line.

Yes, they'd kissed before, but it had never been like this. This was the first time Sigurd had known for a fact that Shage loved him. His prince love him! The fae was so ecstatic it should have been illegal! Sigurd couldn't smile any wider, or keep the two of them standing much longer.

A sudden thought occurred to him, probably out of a way to keep them both in comfortable positions and get good access to make outs. Sigurd leaned them towards the skinning table, at least before he picked the demon up and sat him there before he resumed kissing and nibbling the other's neck and jawline. He didn't need or want words to express his feelings for Shageki, surely his actions would express them just as well. Right?

Even if Shageki had wanted to stop the male, he sincerely doubted he could. Sigurd was so strong he was lifted like a feather, and before he knew it he was on the table. A soft groan with the others tickling kisses. They were out in plain sight to any random passerby. He should have been mortified. Should have also been disgusted at the fact they were making out passionately on a surface that regularly had critters insides on it.

But he didn't care. Not a lick. Which is just what Sigurd was doing as he felt a flash of tongue. "And...and Sig...I want a family. Kids. With you."

He really could say anything he wanted at that moment!
