Mating betas has some nice perks, namely being guaranteed at least 3 eggs in a breeding and possibly producing the maximium of 5 eggs.

Betas are only considered officially mated and eligible for these perks if BOTH tags are updated. All matings must be confirmed by all owners/co-owners involved. Mated beta can ONLY breed with their mates.

You may include several mating pairs in your post, but please separate the pairs with quoting blocks if you can.

To mate your beta, please include the following information here:

You may also take your certs directly to the colorists to update, but please be sure to confirm your matings here first!

To confirm a mating, please quote the post containing your beta's tag (you can cut it down to just the tags) and put a statement of approval, similar to so:

Please only quote the information pertaining to beta you own and its/their intended mate(s).

Updated certs will be posted here and/or the main shop thread.

Breaking up an officially mated pair is a rare occurrence, but sometimes owner friendships dissolve messily or people fall off of Gaia for months or years. Staff will try to accommodate such things as best as we can, but we encourage you to explore all avenues of discussion/contact before resorting to this.

Applications to break up a mated pair will be judged on a case by case basis and require a VERY VERY GOOD REASON for them to be approved. While Staff is fairly understanding, there is no guarantee of approval.

If the owners of a pair of no-longer mated beta wish and agree to reinstate the mated status, Staff will take care of it as soon as possible. However, if you break up a mating solely to immediately resubmit your beta for mating with a different beta, Staff may take their time about updating it.
