Irian did not want to stay here in Harn whatsoever, furthermore she did not feel any desire to answer anything to this queen. She waited for her brethren outside the room he had disappeared into with Belwen, she knew when he came out, the queen should as well. She tried to appear as relaxed as possible though she was far from it. Her eyes flitted more then once over to that... flutter who was the sole reason she had to even converse with the queen. If she never saw that flutter again after leaving Harn it would be too soon. Irian was far from wanting to be near this tree, she wanted to be at home at her and to get back to her job. Oh well, she would have to deal with this first.

Belwen agreed to Mazarine's request to sit in on Teigeirian and Lillian's meeting. He could bare witness to the discussion and lesson these girls would need. And any punishment they may require depending on what they have to say for themselves.

She called the two girls in, motioning for them to take a seat on soft pillows at the small table just as she'd done for Mazarine. She was aware completely of the Harn's attitude by the way she presented herself. This would be addressed after the main issue, away from Lillian's ears. For now, she was pleasant and smiled at the girls. This could be a productive discussion, after all.

"I'd like to hear each of your side of the situation. Why were you out in public view of outsiders, and participating in their rituals? Lillian, you first. Teigerian, I will hear from you after Lillian has had her chance."

Teigeiran - Lillian is first only because of posting order.

Lillian's mind was else where when the two girls were called in. How was she and Paradise suppose to watch over two trees and watch over the seed? What were Harn's seed tenders doing? She'd need to speak to Paradise later.

Lillian sat on one of the two pillows and placed her hands in her lap. Her queen asked her to explain herself first. She nodded her head slightly before speaking. "Yes Queen Belwen. I did not take the decision lightly to go. I went to this strange event with the small hope of locating some of the lost ones. We have not been able to locate them and a big gathering seemed like a good place to start. I did my best not to be seen. I stayed small and hide behind signs and boxes. I did not go to participate in any of their strange rituals. I went to see if some of the lost ones weren't there...And I was lucky. I saw two which was more than what I could have hoped for. Then there was the seed..." Lillian shook her head slightly. "The information I gathered, despite the risk, I believe was worth it." Lillian paused and nodded to herself. "I knew the risks but I went anyway. I am prepared for whatever trouble I get in." Lillian hung her head and stopped talking. Whatever happened to her now was in the hands of her Queen.

Irian sat down on a pillow near Mazarine, she was attempting to be as polite as she could muster. The queen's instruction for Lillian to go first did not surprise her and though it bothered her some, she decided it was best to stifle that displeasure along with her unhappiness to be in this tree in the first place. She didn't even look at the other female flutter in the room, as the words came from her mouth she silently agreed that yes it was a good thing for the flutter young to be found but what she said in conclusion seemed like a kissup to the queen.

"Queen Belwen," she started after the flutter named Lillian quieted she kept her voice level and soft and her emotions out of her words, "I cannot say I had such reasons as Lillian here had. My purpose was more to find out more about their customs, I figure the more we know of them the more we might be aptly able to defend ourselves from them should ever need to. Though perhaps that event of theirs may not have given truly the insight that would be useful... as all it really showed me is they like treasure, games and prizes." she paused a moment to brush a stray bang from her face, "The reason I even spoke to the one they called a Genie, I suppose may have been a foolish one on my behalf, but I heard a fair few talking about the pae in question being able to grant wishes... and I wanted to wish for Queen Indilwen's safe return home... from wherever she is. Probably not my most wise decision, but I worry for her." Irian went quiet from there, unlike Lillian she was not about declare herself at the mercy of the Forn queen.

Mazarine sighed faintly in relief as Belwen granted him the right to remain and watch how to properly handle ruling his tree-mate... Or... Tree-mates as the case now was. Even though his initial reason was still present: he didn't want Teigerian to confront the other tree's queen on her own.

He nodded to his sister briefly as she entered and sat beside him, then turned his attention to Belwen. He seemed to study her at this point, watching her actions, her words, and her reactions as the two girls were addressed, then each said their peace.

The first, Lillian, seemed to have an honorable reason. She knew of the lost seeds and was taking initiative based on her job and position to locate and return them.

Second was Irian. He listened intently to her reason, which of course struck him to his very core. Making a wish to bring back their queen safe and unharmed? It appeared as a valid excuse to him. Had he not been behind in his own duties, he might have actually joined her in her search had he been asked... Maybe not out to a large gathering like she had done, but still....

Yet there was line of thinking there the derailed him back...

Why didn't either one of them think to tell someone else of their idea of going?

Irian, he could understand. Their queen was missing... Until a few moments ago , no one else stepped up to fill her wings, therefore there was no one in a commanding position to report this idea to. She could of least told someone, though.

Lillian didn't quite have that excuse to fall back on. Her queen was still very much present and active in their tree.

His lips parted a moment, ready to step in and ask his query to the two girls.... But then he closed them. He had asked to sit in and observe.... Not take over as residing judge. His gaze returned to Belwen, waiting and listening to how she might handle the pair.

Belwen listened to both stories with interest, not making a sound or movement until they were both finished. She did look to Mazarine to read his response. She crooked smile before turning her attention back to the two flutters before her. Lillian went looking for seeds. Leaving the tree on her own. Tegeirian went on reconnaissance, again, leaving the tree on her own. But also leaving her post as the only sentry to protect Harn.

"I'm not going to punish either of you, but what I am going to tell you, I want you to take to heart. You both are special to me, and I would have been devastated to lose either of you. Lillian, you left alone. If leaving the safety of our Tree and our land, please take someone with you. That goes for you Tegeiran. You both put yourselves in a lot of danger, and you risked the entire colony's safety. Let that weigh on your mind and your conscience the next time you want to wander.

Tegeirian, while the intention was noble, to wish for Indilwen back, your actions tell a different story. You were granted a giant sword? Why? It even caused you injury. How is the sole sentry of an entire colony supposed to do her duties when she cannot fly properly? The outsiders' genies did great harm to you and your tree. You will need to see if Mazarine can heal that injury, but our delicate wings are hard to fix.
"

Belwen was growing a little frustrated with Tegeirian. It wasn't a prejudice, as she did consider both trees to be her family. And right now, they were all under her care. Lillian's offense wasn't as bad, but she knew it'd look like bias when she was dismissed. And Tegeirian's behavior and attitude still had to be addressed.

"Before I go further, I'd like to hear Mazarine's thoughts." Just a little test of his leadership skills. "Because he will be in charge of Harn in Indilwen's absence."

She breathed deep. Let her breath catch up. It was a growing problem as the flutters grew older. They seemed to have no interest in seeing the colonies survive. They want to go out on their own. Do their own thing. They fail to realize that they are not the same as birds ready to leave the nest. They don't understand the dangers outside of this meadow, and the protection it offers. They don't know how dangerous the outsiders are. Indilwen is missing, yet they'd rather frolic with the dangerous beings that are destroying this land and stealing their babies.

Lillian winced as her queen spoke and hung her head. She was right. She should of took someone with her. Paradise would have gone with her. They both held the same job after all. What was done was done and even though there was no punishment, Lillian still felt awful.

Lillian only looked up when Belwen mentioned Mazarine was to lead Harn while Indilwen was missing. Was that what they had been talking about? She supposed it made sense after all, Queen Belwen couldn't run both trees after all. There was enough work just to do in Forn after all. She remained silent as she waited to hear what Mazarine had to say.

"Yes Ma'am" Irian replied quietly not really meeting the eyes of the Queen anymore, deep down it bothered Irian greatly that the queen knew far more about the inner workings of her tree then she ever imagined. She had to wonder if Mazarine knew this before today. "I am unsure why I was granted that thing" she admits honestly, she certainly hadn't asked for it and yet, now she had it. Irian nods at the instruction to see if Mazarine can do anything for the cut in her wing. Irian looked over to Mazarine, she didn't know he was to be in charge in her highness's absense, though in all honesty she was glad he was.

He was a little taken aback as Belwen let them go without any sort of punishment! Then again, he kinda figured that being singled out and talked to about their actions was punishment enough. However, she then turned the table to him.

What were his thoughts?

Well, she pretty much covered that in her own statements. And she went a little deeper than that by verifying that talking to any sort of Genie could have compromised her position in the tree.

He took a deep breath, settling his jittering nerves from being put under the spotlight so suddenly.

"After hearing about both of you leaving the security of your trees, I too grew concerned as to why neither of you thought to let someone know of your plan..." Okay... that was ... a decent start, right?

He turned to his sister, gently lifting a hand to closer inspect the torn wing. It's no wonder she took so long getting to the meeting tonight. He wasn't sure if he could heal it... but he would try. "I understand that with Queen Indilwen's absence, there's no one to report to. However, we are a family. And as such, you still should have told someone of your wanting to leave for investigation of any sort. What if something were to happen to you?" he paused, then smiled sheepishly. "Well, more so than the obvious. No one would have known to come looking for you, or where, for that matter. On top of that, you have a duty to uphold in the tree. You not telling us you would be gone would have left us that much more defenseless if our tree was to be found..."

He turned his attention to Lillian then. "And the same with you. Had something happened and you weren't able to return to your tree, how would anyone have known where to look for you? And who would have taken your place for your own duties until you were found?"

He took another deep breath. His nerves finally settling to a reasonable level. "That being said, I think it's best that any ideas to leave the trees for anything aside from your normal gathering reasons should be brought to someone's attention before any attempts are made. With that in mind, I agree with Queen Belwen on the matter of not leaving the trees alone."

He turned towards Belwen now, hoping he wasn't stepping over anyone's wings. "I'll be assigning pairs to those in Harn based on jobs and such first thing in the morning. It will be in effect at least until Queen Indilwen returns. It'll then fall into her hands whether to continue those pairings, change them up, or dissolve the pairings all together."

Satisfied to see Mazarine jumping right in to his new leadership role, Belwen returned her attention to the flutters before her. "Lillian, you may go tend to your duties. If it happens again, you will receive more than a slap on the wrist."

The Queen took a quiet moment to look over the Harn sentry. She was not impressed, which brought her to her the other reason she needed to speak to Tegeirian. "You've received the same slap on the wrist and warning as Lillian - despite committing the more grievous crime. But I asked you to stay for one other matter."

Most Flutters would not know this, nor was it something that would ever be divulged. And maybe in time, Mazarine would receive the gift if Indilwen did not return - if not him, the one true leader will. The Trees are alive;not like how all flora lives, but the Trees have emotion, awareness, and conscious thoughts of their surroundings, and beyond. They speak to the Queens - the Chosen to act as the mouthpiece and to guide and ensure the Flutters survive. Even if the naive flutters fight it and want to see the colonies collapse, Belwen will never let that happen.

Belwen knows everything that happens within both trees. Indilwen would too if she wasn't missing. There is the always present, always worrisome cryptic messages the Trees give her of outsiders. She doesn't understand the warnings, but works to decipher the messages when not tripping over herself to keep these free spirits in line.

"Tegeirian, this message is for you. It has nothing to do with your or Lillian's security breeches. You've shown disrespect the entire time you've been in this tree. Yes, you are polite with your words, sometimes, but your body language and behavior belie those words. Indilwen is missing. I am the queen of both trees until her return. You know nothing Tegeirian. This world is far more savage and you have bigger things to worry about than the name of the queen you bow your head to. You will respect me. You will respect Mazarine while he bears Indilwen's burdens. You will show all of our fellow flutters respect no matter which tree they may have sprouted from. If I witness just one - ONE- more incident of your disrespect to me, I will personally mete out your punishment and there will be nothing Mazarine or even Indilwen can do to stop me. You do not show such haughty behavior to those who are giving their lives to ensure you keep yours.

Thank Mazarine, for his presence here today has spared you."
Belwen rarely showed this side of her, but Tegeirian's attitude only continued to press on the queen's buttons. Maybe she was overreacting, maybe not. Belwen wouldn't put up with it because these flutters really do have no idea what they are up against.

Taking a deep breath and stepping back, she noticed she'd moved closer to Tegeirian, assuming a threatening stance. She side glanced at Mazarine after regaining composure. "That is all. You are free to return home, or stay the evening in Forn as the sun as set already."
