since now that everyone one of the rooms has their own mini-theme, we need a basic idea on the plot to get started on creating characters and room plots.

PiratePad <--- this is kinda like a google doc that we can all write up on but also has a small chat.

Idea's previously mentioned.
we can have all the fun of the characters all being supernatural/mythical creatures!
~room ideas~
Ghost/Spirit creature Room ( GHOST PIRATES)
Fairy/trickster creature room - perhaps in a mythical forest or glade
Vampire/Werewolf room - gotta have some drama/conflict right? perhaps they are trying to set aside their differences
Mermaids/water creatures - a mermaid grotto as such so a few air breathers could come in or a sea castle.
Demons/succubus/incubus rooom?
and a
forest dwelling creatures ( centaurs, naga, etc)

Inspired by Superstitions
-Black Cat
-Friday the 13th
-Crow's Omen
-Soul capturing mirrors/photos

Halloween/monster bash/party
It's beginning to get close to Halloween and strange things have been happening, like Floor Number 13 appearing in all building's with an elevator, the building may not even go up to 13 but it is there, it's even been on the news as who ever goes up to Floor Number 13 will not be coming back down until after All Hallow's Eve.

Floor 13, what lies behind the mysterious doors of floor 13, Fog waft's in as the door opens to reveal a Luxurious Mansion, the gates rusted and vines growing over the top of them and the wall, holding them open. The soft Yellow of the Lights spread through out the fog, brightening the area where they stay but the shadows, they seem darker than ever.

Walking though the gates, tufts of grass have sprouted up through the cobbled path, leading to the door which creaks open with each new attendant, a soft melody plays from somewhere in the back of the mansion.

A small puff of smoke appears in front of you and once the smoke moves away it shows a decorative envoluope, in which the letter inside reads.

"Welcome to the Mansion of the Between,

you have been cordidnally invited by the King of the Creatures, ________, to participate in the Monster Bash.
He wishes to inform you that any killing or maiming will result in a stay in the mansion's dungeon until the party is over.
And that this party is being held in celebration of his term as king and hopefully to convince guests that he should run another term as their king.

With Regards,

His Royal Majesty,
_______"

Some sort of school prom.
Any modern setting could work out for those guest who are not to keen into dressing up.

People love making fun of Twilight.

Supernatural Historical Room

Before they can eat mermaid pirates start raiding them.
Pirate killed the party host and they become a vengeful ghost.
Vengeful spirit host goes mad and kills all the pirates and guests.
Everyone is dead and can’t pass on because the host won’t let them because they became cray cray and thinks everyone is at fault for raiding, destroying, dying, and getting blood everywhere which ruined the party.)

ooh, suggestions? o vo

a mysterious town / village or some sort! i was watching scooby - doo with my sister earlier and neil gaiman and it popped up!

a (new orleans? just a thought!) town supposedly haunted by mysterious beings! kidnappings, ghosts, murders and witches! strange sightings everywhere- - - a mansion's suspicious groundskeeper, odd happenings in the graveyard, trampled gardens, a horde of ghostly spectres marching to war or galloping through the town every seventh friday, whispers of monsters beneath the lake, along a river to the sea, a wooden gate to nowhere in the middle of the forest and a changing wood. Dead men walking, upturned graves and half - eaten animals turning up off the roads!

so why are these happening?

simple! the town was built on cursed land, right over a leyline! The walls that sever the real world from the otherland are thinnest here, and with a little bit of coaxing, a hole has been made.

this could run as a theme on itself, i think, but there's more if it would interest!

let's call the town Scuttwight.

There's a Scuttwight in the real world. And there's a Scuttwight in the Otherland.

Scuttwight Above. Scuttwight Below.

In the sewers, the dungeons in the castles or mansions, trapdoors in the basement, the randomness of entrances into the Scuttwight Below and places where people fall in and find themselves in this odd, terrifying, fantastical land below the cobblestones of Scuttwight Above. Creatures with horns, vampires and any kind of magical creature and more. Perhaps a bustling square and a central market where wizened old gypsies sell readings and talismans and paper charms next to a giant cat's stall, selling duck curry and "berry juice." Fallen stars who attempt to charm your soul out of you and an odd little store where goldfish are worth their weight in gold and places that sell live jewellery, hermit - crab earrings that whisper endearments in your ear, jelly - fish bracelets that protect you from the dead, spider ornaments and snake adornments that function as protection.

i picture the land below like in Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere, derelict, sort of victorian - era - y with a division between the rich and the poor so extreme it hurts. Gangs and underground circles and suspicious persons and vigilantes and all those things. Mercenaries for hire and whatnot. Pirates and ninjas and stuffy old nobles. There is no sun, but there is a moon, and the "sky" is a roll of fog that remains an ever - damping grey. occasionally, twisted creatures fly down to terrorize the Belowers.

The Below is ever - changing. Landscapes are subject to change all the time. Doors never lead to the same place all the time. Random teleportation is common. One cannot hope to control it, only adapt.

There's a limited amount of time an Abover can spend in the Below before they are assimilated into the Below and uniquely configured into a Belower, changing their appearance 5ever. However, Belowers can travel Above without much repercussion, unless they have some incriminating attributes, which, let's face it, almost all the Belowers have. The use of magic is much more limited Above than Below, since the Below is built into the leyline as opposed to on top of it, which is where the Above is.

the town / village would be one of those peaceful, rustic vacation spots. The locals aren't really very friendly, though, or at least a portion of them. the ball - goers can be tourists or visitors to the village due to a festival of some sort with a magical or supernatural significance. The hosts and co - hosts can be Abovers who know of the Below and Belowers who have travelled Above. There could be an adventure! A major villain! A deranged and powerful Belower masquerading as a figurehead of good who plans to open a Door underneath Scuttwight Above to sink it into the Below and unleash the forces of the Below into the real world!

or something o3o;;

how about regular humans are having a supernatural themed party and since their costumes are so great the real monsters actually think that this is a party for them and through out the time of the ball they do things that are considered normal to monster but the humans are kinda freaked out by it.
hosts can be either human or a "monster"
the "magical girls"( since this is gaia we be needin' some magical girls ) since they kinda play jump rope with the line could know that the party is really for humans but are having too much fun laughing at the monsters that think its for them

the new room could be either a school news paper or school radio that is there to write about / live talk about it

other rooms..... im a bit.... lost on?

quotes eren on
"how about regular humans are having a supernatural themed party and since their costumes are so great the real monsters actually think that this is a party for them and through out the time of the ball they do things that are considered normal to monster but the humans are kinda freaked out by it.

I guess I'd be putting a twist on what you said though by saying that the kids go to the monsters thinking they're all just costumes and then realize they're actually real.
So it could take place in some sort of town or a huge haunted mansion on a property with lots of cool things aka the rooms.
So the rooms in a sense could be like The Living Dead like a graveyard {ghosts/zombies}, Magical Beings {meadow maybe} {witches, wizards, fairies}, and then I guess however you want to categorize monsters owo they could be in the mansion in rooms.
Just to spit an idea. x3

Ha, I've been waiting for the time to start brainstorming plot ideas. Obviously the plot needs to connect all the rooms, so we have Underworld, Pirate, Witches/Wizards, Fae, Circus, and Mermaids. Hm... well it would be a good idea to establish why each of these groups are holding a ball.

It's that time of the year.

The three days that has the supernatural thingies at their most powerful...

The supernatural groups have organized to throw a celebration for those days!

A meeting has been called by the underworld's king and sidekick, to decide what they'd do for those three days.

The other leaders and minions were invited to come and toss around ideas.

"We should have a picnic inside our grove!" declared the Fae.

"We shall cast magic to entertain the guests in our tower." stated the Wizard.

"And we will throw a ball for everyone to enjoy." said the King of the Underworld.

And so, it was resolved.

The invitations to the celebrations were sent out the next day.

(Better words should be chosen. Bleh, my limited vocabulary.)

========================================================

On the day the celebrations were starting, a pirate ship was spotted along the west coast.

"Arrrgh! We'll steal all their treasure and drink their rum!" Laughed the pirates, on their magnificent ship.

On their way to the celebration, their steerer person suddenly had a bout of directionlessness, and crashed their ship onto a cove!

A cove inhabited by mer-folk!

The mer-folk were not very pleased.

They began to attack the pirates, in vexation. The pirates began to fight back. They were soon in a stalemate.

With animosity brewing between them, they decided take it to the Underworld's king, to solve their problem.

They began to argue in a childish 'did not' fight.

"Did not!" cried the Pirates
"Did too!" hissed the mer-folk

"Did not!"
"Did too!"
"Did not!"
"Did too!"
"Did not!"

"ENOUGH!" roared the Underworld's king, after watching the two sides squabble. he was 'slightly' stressed with all of the planning needed for the ball.

"Let the gaians who come decide who's fault it was. Now, let us enjoy the celebrations in peace!"

The mer-folk and pirates, still glaring daggers at each other, left silently.

========================================================

Meanwhile, from the east side, there came a carnival,

"I can't wait to take part in this celebration, huh everyone?" said the Ringmaster cheerfully.

The rest of the crew were in the gamut of very excited to indifferent.

=======================================================

Can't think of anything else. Sorry. Bleeeeeeeeh.

This is awesome. Maybe the ball could be a ritual of some sort? Like, all supernatural beings have to gather every 13th year to keep some ultra baddie away, and after a while they decided to have fun with it and turn it into an event? Except this year, maybe the baddie is at risk of breaking through.

On the Road so far!

Quote:
villain:..Alcoholic Hobo . Some sort of being escaped the underworld and possessed a human?
- Or a hobo. Just sayin' (Violet)
If hobo he should be possessed smile yes, an evil spirit escapes and takes over the nearest person or something: a hobo. But the hobo is in there too and they have awkward conversations sometimes? Wanders underworld thinking he's seeing things 'cuz he's drunk.
And then at the end the spirit and the hobo grow to like each other and then the hobo accidentally drinks Holy Water cause he's got an alchohol problem.
Hobo was rummaging through the trash cans at the carnival because that's where he lives. Make dealings with pirates for their booze.

Quote:
Plot idea... What if there is a magical girl (Ahh it's really all I think about huh?) she wouldn't have to be a good person at all. Maybe she can try stealing underworld'a power? (Lucky)

Quote:

Maybe every 13 years (duh??) all the mythic and magical creatures host a celebration (Minako )

Quote:
Some portal thing (I'm good at this, I swear!) opens up cause of this being the 13th AURB and all and all the creatures come through, but maybe some are crazy and wanna take over the world. (Violet)

And possibly there's a subset of the creatures that are against this idea and wish to help the mortals (Silverbolt)

To add on to the portal thing. How about everyone is celebrating the opening of the underworld which causes everyone to have some sort of power up. Maybe this cause a potential villain to use it to their advantage?(TheMainCharacter1)

Quote:
Three days, that the supernatural peoples are at their strongest. Celebration? (Mushroom)

Quote:
Well, if no party. We could just have the typical battle of good/evil. And neutral parties as well, cause there's always that. Different factions in each of the rooms too, cause otherwise that would be really boring and we'd be scraping along for room plots. (Violet)

Quote:
Underworld could be a huge power source but are happy where they are but the upper lands want it for themselves and attempt to steal it ( five gems of ultimate power or something, hidden across the rooms and the only way to combine their powers is to bring them together in the underworld )
Perhaps this power source is a trinket of some sort. Or an enchanted items? Like Crests of Power? (Silverbolt)

Convo between Main and I
Quote:
What do you think about the mirror idea?
i like the stones/gems more but it is a possiblity
Okay.
mainly cause mirrors shatter too easily and arent found in room themes normally
What do you mean not found in room themes normally?
the fae room wouldnt normally have mirrors, iffy on the underworld and pirates ( as they dont normally care for their looks)
Oh. I was thinking they all just had random pieces of the mirror and the villian was trying to get the pieces back to make the mirror whole again. I see your point though.
we're not even sure if we're having a major villian rather than fractions (rooms) all fighting between themselves (cause imagine the crossovers )
I don't think everyone would be fighting...maybe for those who want crossovers.
maybe a race i dont know where i was going with that
lol let me see if I can add on to it.
Okay. It might not work but how about all the room main host are in a race to the end of the underworld or somewhere and the rest of the rooms are supporting their team or something like that...I don't know
it could work but the underworld room would have an unfair advantage :/
I could be somewhere else and the rooms are watching the race on some sort of monitors or looking glass.
better > smile
another thought would be that it could be made up character doing the race and hosts are just supporting them so it doesn't have to be the main host. They can still be part of the ball instead of away racing?
that could work, we could make it seem like a radio broadcast or something too
the rooms are "pubs" haha

Yeah .Unless you do want to race then we can just held it on the last day and the first two days are just for fun.
or that
lol
The news room can be the radio station.
tots
Still in support of using that Hobo somehow>.> Don't hate ;.;
we thought about making the floaters drunk hobo's since they would think theyre seeing things XD
Yesyes.
So will there be a villian like someone similar from that old cartoon Wacky Races kind of thing?
im not too sure on the villian( at least a rp-able one) as the last two were everywhere at once and when people couldnt find someone with the password it stressed everyone out
So it wouldn't work out if the villian was just consider a floater lead or it has to be the annual ball account to be used?
if the rooms base their plot around the villian its going to happen wheather or not its a floater or the annual ball mule.
I see. hmmm...that would be a problem...but
i know our plot didnt but 2 room plots did and i remember seeing a lot of panic in the chat at one point because of it
Yeah, I remember seeing that too.
we could have an antagonist that is apart of the first part of the plot eg. how people got to the rooms but isnt seen or heard from till the end
Oh I like that idea. It will add more humor to the hobo I think. Suddenly a hobo appears at the end talking about we are doomed then he drinks the holy water and the being that possessed him disappear and everyone is like wtf just happen. Can't spell tonight lol.

MERMAID/PIRATE CROSS OVER (Wintry)

I feel like the mermaids would be trying to seduce the pirates or something like that... Then it fails miserably somehow. Then the mermaid being all SEXAY find interest in the hobo?

Or maybe the mermaids are interested in the pirate's booty

Quote:
How about instead of a party Idea, we due something like the 6th annual ball where the rooms weren't necassarily throwing parties, the guests found something and it brought them to the individual rooms? The rooms go about what they normally did but noticing newcomers (Guests)

Yeah the 6th was entirely like that, we used G-corp as our main reason why people found the things, ended up where at the end we had to fix time paradoxes (i believe that is how it ended) (epcot )

Expanding on ideas mentioned.

The Supernatural Races happens every 13 years. Riders from different fractions attempt to make it to the finish line.

The first two days are campaigns and party for the different fractions. On the third day, the Main Hosts will race on their personal choice of transportation. This will mean that the Main host can use a vehicle, some sort of mythical animal, or anything else to race. A possibility can be that Secondary can transform into the vehicle or creature used for the race.

Supporters from each room can watch the race on their own selected viewing object.
(Looking Glass, Crystal ball, Monitors, etc) After the race there will be a celebration for the winner and can continue, later days if the forum is still open.

For those who do not like the idea of having the race at Rally and for those who might have glitches or loading problems we can use dice to represent the race.

A separate thread will be created for the race in some sort of paranormal realm. Another option will be the race is through different areas of each room and the finish line is somewhere in the human world. Each Host will have a certain amount of times to roll. After everyone is done, the team with the most numbers will be the winner.

The News Room where the floaters can be assign to can be humans or zombies broadcasting what’s going on in the rooms and the results of the race. They can go around rooms as if they are part of a news team. They will still be responsible for AURB info, room news, events, Q/A, FAQ, contest results, story updates, role-playing tips, etc. They can be secretly supporting the villain who are paying them with brains, are being threaten, or bribing them. They are reporting false information about the hosts. They can be newspaper articles or tabloids headlines posted in the newsroom and or the host threads.

The idea of there being a villain or not will need to be further discussed. However, for now…

The head floater can be the villain who can be a human, zombie racer who want to prove that humans or zombies are superior, or the races. The person will have to be available when needed if rooms revolve their sub plot around them. He could be using the newsroom to slandering the other hosts names through smear campaigns so he can gain more supporters. With everyone with questionable stories about them, he will be the only one with a clean reputation. The slandering can be solved with humans or zombies being bribed or threaten by the other room hosts together. They then tell the truth before the race begins.

We can also have him be the villain that goes unnoticed by everyone and is only acknowledged last minute. With the race determine by dice this could mean that there is a chance the villain can win…I believe that will cause a lot of suspense for everyone.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The portal to the underworld has open causing weird phenomenon that affects all supernatural creatures.
To celebrate everyone decided to hold their party to celebrate their own increase in power. Without their knowledge due to the underworld opening a powerful being, manage to escape. While this was going on an alcoholic hobo that lives in the carnival trashcans found himself wandering around the underworld unaware of the danger. While escaping, the being accidentally ran into the hobo and end up possessing him. Dissatisfy with the body and the fact that the hobo won’t shut up in his head he decided to go ahead to set his plan in action.
Each room holds a powerful item that represents the power of each fraction. If the being gets his hand on each item, he will be able to rule everyone. He must get the Witches/Wizards, Fae, and Mermaids items which would cause him to gain more power that will be enough to go after the underworld item which is the ultimate item.
Depending on how the Carnival and Pirates will work out, they could have items also. They could be long lost keys to the underworld vault that hold the power item. They had no idea how important they are and thought they were regular old things apart of a treasure.
The possessed hobo could manged to get all the items with out anyone noticing because when he’s not being fully possessed he can sneak by. He will just be seen as a confuse human so nobody pays him any mind. The being then takes full control of his body and go on to the next item location.
Once he collects the items, he will go to the underworld but before he can get close enough to the vault he lose control of the hobo. Due to his strong urge for alcohol consumption, he mistakes a bottle of holy water as alcohol. He drinks the holy water and the being is exorcising out. The underworld guards then take the being back to prison. The hobo is then starting living life as a fae due to him actually being handsome after cleaning up. Either that or become part of the pirates, carnival or go back rummaging through the trash.
Any possible happy ending for the hobo.
There also the option of the villain not being able to get any of the items either. He keeps messing up because of the hobo interference in his plans. Because he was so frustrated, he heads to the underworld finally acknowledged as a threat. He tries to force his way to get the item but due to being so angry he lose control of the hobo and he ends up drinking the holy water.
The News Room where the floaters can be assign to can be hobos that are panicking and talking about what’s going on in the rooms. People think they are just crazy people speaking nonsense. They can go around rooms talking about what is going on and accusing people of trying to take over the world and doing crazy things. They will still be responsible for AURB info, room news, events, Q/A, FAQ, contest results, story updates, role-playing tips, etc. They will appoint the villain as their leader because they think of him as a brave person for going into the supernatural beings territories. The villain will ignore them majority of the time unless they find useful information.
