DraconicFeline Quick tag to get this started! Peralian was at loose ends. His father had gone off to join the majority of the tribe in trying to hunt down the Trask... which he wasn't even sure what it was. he had his weapon too! All shiny and new and epic.. he wanted to go use it, but this land was not near his home, he didn't know it and wasn't sure he wanted to risk getting lost. So he wandered about the camp, looking and exploring the area right around it, hoping to find soothing to keep him occupied till his Da came back. Either that or another hunter going off to join his Da so he could track them and join in!

Zamanavyi didn't know why her sister Harasathi wanted Groda mushrooms. Groda were icky and poisonous and boring, and Red had better things to do than hunt for ribbity things. But Hara wanted it, and she'd said that she'd get Red an audience with the chief for the whole choosing her clan thing – which was kind of a big deal. So here Red was, with her little stone hatchet and her shortbow, hunting for little groda. For some reason, the little bastards were being hard to find. “Come out come out!” she muttered, “I just wanna take your mushrooms.” Technically you didn't have to kill the groda to get its mushrooms but at this point, though, she'd murder them too. “Hey!” she called out to a silhouette among the stones, “You see any Groda?” (135/600)

Peral paused as he spotted a dovva girl wearing a pelt as a cloak. Wonder if I can get Da to make me one of those? He thought as he paused in his roaming. He wrinkled his nose when she called out to him. "Gorda? Why'd you want a Groda? You can't eat them... and their mushrooms aren't any better to cook with than normal ones you can find elsewhere."That and their mushrooms had a Groda egg in the cap! If you ate that... it'd hatch inside you and eat it's way out! At least.. that's what Da said.. so maybe it wasn't really true. Da sometimes told tall tales....

As Red came closer she noticed that he was a funny shade of blue and had dark eyes and hair, but that meant about as much to her as any other color. He looked familiar, in fact, she knew she'd met him before. Who he was didn't matter so much – she didn't remember things like that so well– but she was also sure he was from the tribe, at least sort of. He looked a lot like that Oblivionite that lived out along the way. Hey – maybe they were related. Whatever. She scowled. “My sister wants 'em. I dunno why.” If she had to guess Hara's motives, they were probably for some sort of medicine... thing. Who knew with healers? “So, you seen 'em or not?” she asked, hands on her hips. (269/900)

DraconicFeline ... I forgot... COMPLETELY FORGOT, they'd met before OTL So silly of me.... Peralian suddenly recalled the girl… actually he recalled her pelt coat more than her. This was the silly thing who was so stupidly proud of her killing a mara… mostly by luck. Which, he thought in his mind and would never admit out loud, was kind of like his eyeshot on that dragon…. No idea about her name though, it’d been a few years and why would he recall some girls name? “Nah. But I haven’t explored this whole area yet.” He said. Her sister wanted them? He could understand if it was him and Tarlen going after Groda… they were fun to catch if you were careful, but a girl? “I’ve always had luck looking in marshy areas… got any of those near here?" words: 352/900

“Uh...” Red thought, “Yeah.” she turned in the direction of one of Ayr's claustrophobic swamps and started for it abruptly, stopping after a few paces to turn and look back at the hybrid. “Well?” she said, squinting at him, “You comin' or not?” (314/900)

Peralian's first thought was: why should I follow her? But then he realized it wasn't like he had anything else to do so why not? "Sure I can come... Why? Not feeling like you can capture a Groda?" He said with a smirk. Or maybe she just didn't want to get dirty! He picked up his new imprinted weapons, settling the unstrung bow across his back and picking up his staff. Since he had them, he wasn't going to leave them behind! Plus you know, it'd be nice to show them off! words: 444/900

“'Course I can catch a Groda!” Red retorted, giving him a brief, purple-eyed glare before, tromping into the damp swamplands. In Ayr, a swamp was a place where the winds were held back by something, where rain and seed did not get swept away in every passing storm. In this sheltered sanctuary, life could live in the harsh land, taking root in the sparse soil and enriching it as equally precious sunlight filtered through the stones and Ayr's eternal clouds. Life, being life, thrived. Red wrinkled her nose at the smell of decaying plant matter, shoving a small lichenous bush aside as she stepped, barefoot, into the mud. Clearly she had been looking in the wrong places. “Oh. Hey.” she said, pointing to a Groda on a rock, “There's one.” She crept up to it, wondering just how to deal with it. Should she use a bag and wrap it up, or her axe and kill it? She decided to catch it first. She pounced, throwing her bag over it. “Haha! Gotcha!” she said, picking up a rock... (493/900)

DraconicFeline Peral thinks the slime is toxic.. it is.. but not as much as he thinks it is :p Most of the toxins are in the mushroom. Peralian rolled his eyes, what was with girls and always making commentary on their actions? Not that he had a lot of experience with girls living out alone with his family, so anything annoying this girl did... was an annoying thing all girls apparently did... in his eyes at least! He followed at a distance, sauntering along like he had better things to do but was humoring the girl. "You shouldn't talk when hunting." He commented after she pounced on the nice sized creature. "It lets your prey know you're there. And don't smash the creature, it's poisonous! You don't know how much of that poison is in its slime!" Stupid girl! She'd obviously never handled a creature that had poison in it's blood and slime.... "If you're going to bludgeon it to death, put it in a bag and then do so... though that'll destroy the mushroom which I thought was why you were looking for it...."

“Well, you shouldn't talk either!” retorted Red. Much as she had wanted the company – after all, things were more fun when you weren't alone – the boy was starting to get on her nerves. At his advice, she stared at the captured groda for a moment. She knew it was poisonous, but in its slime...? If she hit it it would get all over the place and – most importantly – on her. Not that she cared – getting dirty was almost her specialty – but poison was not good. She frowned at the groda. So... what would she do? Wait a minute...“Its already in a bag, you idiot!” she exclaimed, baring her teeth at Peral in a snarl, “So don't tell me to put it in a bag if it's already in a bag!” She looked at the groda again. He did have a point, though... If she bashed it like she had been going to, she could destroy the mushroom. “I'm gonna bring it back alive, let Hara deal with it.” She said casually, “She's the one that wants it, so she can get its mushroom off.” The truth was, Red wasn't entirely sure how to go about killing the beast properly. Did you shoot it? Smash it? Stab it? “Hey... did ya hear that?” She asked: something in the swamp's paused air had nudged her mind into wariness, but she could not figure out what it was... (738/900)

Peraian sighed and rolled his eyes. "Bag as in not your pack... cause it looks like that pack of yours gets a lot of use and isn't something you'd want destroyed, so unless you want it to get completely slimed...." His parents had stopped making him bags after he kept getting his ruined trying to hold disgusting things, or burning it when filled with things to see if it exploded, or using it as a bag for sharp objects and getting it shredded... Now he had to be more careful since he had to make his own. Peral also sensed something, like it was a it quieter than it had been. "Dun hear much...." He said as he slid his boy off his shoulder and strung it. This was the wild after all... maybe he'd find something to shoot? words: 741/900

Red gave him a very cross look. “You're annoying.” she tied off the bag for the time being, ignoring the pulsating beat of the groda's breathing as it made the skin of the bag move. With the critter out of the way, she took out her own bow, saving her throwing axes for when she knew what was bothering her. And something was bothering her. “We're being watched...” she said warily, moving back nearer to the boy, looking along the small swamp. She had no idea how she knew, of course – it was just that prickling feeling one got when you knew you were about to be in trouble. The question was, what was watching them? She notched an arrow to her – very much not magical - bow. What is that? she squinted at something, some indistinct shape in the brush and, slowly, extended a finger from her bow hand to point it out to Peral – yes, that was his name, she vaguely remem bered it: Peralian. See? she thought, petulantly, I'm quiet when I've got to be.Not that it mattered when the dragon, who had been watching the interlopers carefully, sprang from the bushes, its teeth dripping with poison. She fired off her arrow, scoring its hide in a glancing blow before she ducked and rolled to the side, dropping her bow and taking out her stone throwing axes in one smooth motion, one in each hand. That... is a dragon. she thought warily, watching for an opening – as it was still moving - where her axes and melee attacks could do their work. (1008/900)

DraconicFeline I do not think these two will get along O.o Peralian smoothly pulled out and arrow and notched it when he saw the bush shifting, almost snorting when he saw the other take her hand off her bow to point at it. Who takes their hand off the bow to point? I can see just fine, he thought with scorn. As it sprang he waited for it to land before firing his arrow. Animals always paused to reorient at themselves as they landed, giving him a small moment to aim and fire. He grinned and looked at the other as his arrow, built to penetrate scales, hit the dragon in its eye. Another eye shot, he thought proudly, Da's teaching really is the best! I'll have to go brag to Tarlen about this! I've got some skills! He looked over to smirk at the girl unaware of the dragon that had crept up from behind them and was eyeing the tasty morsel staring with his back to the dragon. 900/900
