It was turning out to be a rather lovely day in the glade a young adult Hippoflutter had turned into his home. It was a lovely, if small territory -- easy to protect and tend to and provided almost everything the stallion could have needed: Through the thin trees he could see a small stream with a miniature tiered waterfall that filled a pool with cool clear water on the pebbly stream full of rounded stones, good for drinking and bathing in, though a bit small and shallow for most soquili, barely going over their ankles at its deepest.
The Glade was full of Flowers of various, sweetly scented types that gave off nectar at different times of the day and year, of rich, almost candy like lichen for the winter and tender clover for the warmer seasons. And, on the edge opposite of the lovely little waterfall peering through the clearing and surrounded by a several rings of broadly capped mushrooms, stood a tall and wide hollowed tree, the ancient wood long having died and lost all of its frightful looking branches, instead creating a tower with the occasional open window. Its Wide open bottom seemed almost as if it was a teepee's entrance, though only up to the average soquili's knee, and if one peered inside they'd see it had a wooden roof high up, with a small hole that'd allow life, if it could fly up into it, into the more protected part of the tree.
The lowest hallow itself would make for a lovely lair for a small animal... If they didn't mind the noises they made being amplified out into the woods, the entire tree acting like the resonance chamber of a guitar, a small amphitheater that shaded and hid its performers. And much too small for the average soquili
Not that Regal was the average soquili: He was of mixed Flutter heritage, and he leaned heavily on his mother's side. Because of this, he often was in his smaller form, smaller than the average kitten in size. For him the glade was a fantastically large space with plenty to eat, plenty to drink, and full of inspirational beauty.
A beauty that, on this particular day, inspired him into a lilting melody within his tree, artistically setting up pebbles and rounded gems and even small gold nuggets he had collected from the stream to the floor in spiraling patterns to create a stone floor for his home, tapping his hooves against the stone as he sort of danced about.
"Chuaigh mé isteach i dteach aréir is d'iarr mé cairde ar mhnaoi an leanna. Is é dúirt sí liom "Ní bhfaighidh tú deor. Buail an bóthar is gabh abhaile"
The sound was warm as it filled the tree and went out at the same strength it would if he was full sized without it, for all appearances seeming as if the both smooth and knotty tree, long having lost its bark, was singing.
"I came by a house last night And told the woman I am staying I said to her: "The moon is bright and my fiddles tuned for playing""
Setting the last stone in, he fluttered into the air, creating a hum within the tree, hidden up high above the arched 'roof'. He then went outside to grab one of the small bags of sand he had set aside, made nearly of of pure quartz, silica, and flecks of gold and dumped it into a pile in the center of the room. He landed on the pile and began to dance on it with sweeping motions to spread it out into the cracks to create a sort of mortar and smooth out the surface for walking on.
"Tell me that the night is long Tell me that the moon is glowing Fill my glass I'll sing a song And will start the music flowing
Never mind the rising light There's no sign of day or dawning In my heart it's still the night And we'll stay here till the morning
Níl sé ina lá, níl a ghrá, níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go maidin, níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go fóill, solas ard atá sa ghealaigh.
It's not day nor yet awhile I can see the starlight shining Níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go fóill, solas ard atá sa ghealaigh.
Fill the glasses one more time And never heed the empty bottle Turn the water into wine And turn the party up full throttle
Don't go out into the cold Where the wind and rain are blowing For the fire is flaming gold And in here the music's flowing"
Inspecting his work from the ceiling once more, the sun streaming inside to the glittering rocks ground, creating a surface that'd retain its heat in the summer night, he hummed the chorus before fetching another bag of the fine, beautiful white sand to finish off the beautiful floor.
"Tell me that the night is long Tell me that the moon is gleaming Fill my glass, I’ll sing a song And we'll keep the music streaming Until all the songs are sung
Níl sé ina lá, níl a ghrá, níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go maidin, níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go fóill, solas ard atá sa ghealaigh
Níl sé ina lá, níl a ghrá, níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go maidin, níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go fóill, solas ard atá sa ghealaigh!"
OOC Note: He's singing Níl Sé'n Lá Another version since I felt it was rather catchy tune he could sing while working XD

"Have you seen anything yet?"
The bobbing, weaving shape in the distance from the mare called out in the negative and Anushka shook her head, meandering on. It was a pretty day, and she wanted to be equally surrounded by pretty scenery, but so far everything she'd come across had been out of the ordinary, and she was starting to get slightly crosspatch, a playful breeze tangling mane and tail around wings and legs, so that she was forced to stop every now and then to shake the strands loose.
Her long plumed bird friend, Athalia, was now scouting ahead for the mare, and she hoped that meant she wouldn't have to do too much more wandering around looking for a pleasant place to while away the day, but so far she'd not found anything either. Lost in slightly grumbly thoughts, and whilst untangling her mane again, she was stopped by a tweak to her ear as the hummingbird had finally come up trumps.
A short while later, she arrived at the glade that had caught Athalia's attention, and she was pleased to see that her friend had done rather well. She inhaled the scent of the flowers that hung on the air, and took a moment to take a drink from the clear water of the waterfall-fed pool, before taking a proper look around. It was whilst doing so that she registered the noise - the singing that was coming from - where?
Athalia had by now flitted off on her own concerns so Anushka had to investigate herself, tip-hoofing around the glade as she tried to locate the source of the singing. Sometimes she could understand the words clearly, others they were a jumbled tongue that her ears couldn't make sense of, but the tune was pleasant all the same. Eventually she located the hollowed tree trunk, and as she couldn't see anywhere else for somewhere to hide, she reasoned that the hidden songster must be inside.
"Hello?" she called, when the song seemed to have drawn to an end. She was glad there was no one around to see her addressing a tree! mindsend I'm sure this will be a rather underwhelming post compared to yours, but here we go XD

The singing reverberating from the tree stopped short with a soft gasp, the stallion having been so caught up in his renovation and singing dance he hadn't heard the mare approach, and from where he stood all he could see was her hooves and the hair that pooled around her feet. Fluttering up into the hole of his roof, he peeked slightly out of one of the holes in the wood to get a better look without being spotted, wishing to be careful -- while he could tell she had non-cloven hooves and lacked a long serpentine or spaded tail, at his size he was but a mouthful to a hungry Kalona-mix or Skinwalker and needed to be sure she was safe before responding. His people did, after all, tended to hide away and spy on strangers to insure they are the sort to be welcomed.
"Oh! Dia dhuit -- Hello beautiful princess!" He chirped softly, whistling much like a bird as he fluttered another story higher getting to just below head level where a larger hole that'd allow him in and out was available, poking his head out of the hole a little bit just exposing his nose a touch. He could fit, and did not wish to receive a startled kick or stomp. It was safer to be closer to head level ,but a flail could still reach him if he startled her where he was "I apologize for my fright -- I did not hear your arrival."
He carefully poked his head out a bit more, chirruping to get her attention, "Down here!" He fluttered his wings a bit, letting their snowy white shine glint in the sun like glittering diamonds to attempt and attract her attention. He shook a leg, trying to get the quartz and gold rich dust off of his fur a little, feeling a bit embarrassed, "I wasn't expecting company and was decorating my home -- I just moved here recently.... I... I'm not intruding in your territory, am I? I swear m'lady, I hardly take up any space" He gave her a playful, hopeful grin. He had investigated the area on the back of one of his two Long tailed, peacock-like condor companions, but they were only so good in the forests, and he hoped he hadn't intruded into a sacred place, but it was rather close to his own home and reports had stated it was fairly open territory.
While he wished to live beyond his home valley, unlike some others who had ventured out from their land, he didn't wish to settle in too far away from everyone he knew, all his friends and family in the little flutter herds. The Glen seemed like the perfect place to set up a home base and start up his own family -- a spot that could attract others to join him. He wasn't however expecting anyone so soon.
CitrusCupcake Not an Issue! XD I dont expect massive essays in response, and I don't usually post a bunch of song lyrics.

For a moment Anushka thought that maybe she'd just been hearing things but then there were sounds of movement from within and when attempting to peer in she smiled prettily as the whoever was inside gave her a lovely compliment.
"And hello to you too." she replied, her head tilting as she tried to work out who she was speaking to. Finally the owner of the voice poked its head out and after he said whereabouts she should look to see him, the mystery was solved.
"You're so little!" she exclaimed with a soft giggle, not really paying too much attention to anything else he had said at first. She was incredibly intrigued by his colouring more than anything and wanted to see the whole of him, for at the moment he looked for all the world like a tiny, male version of herself.
"Oh no, I'm just passing through really, I'm the one intruding on you. Which I am sorry for, but this is a lovely spot to spend a day and well, singing trees are slightly unusual so I had to investigate."

"oh no, princess, no intrusion on your part" he flit out of the hole, using the light bob created by his flight to make it look as if he was was trotting up a slope with his legs to get up closer to eye level for her before hovering in place with a fluttering of his wings, "I do enjoy company, and part of why I left the valley was so I could meet interesting people such as yourself."
"as for my size" He teased as the two long display feathers of his tail flicked upwards playfully, nearly tickling his ears as he fluffed up his leg feathers and puffed out his cheeks slightly, playfully making himself look bigger with just that, trying to make her laugh and show how comfortable he was -- he didn't want his first guest to feel unwelcome before he could get to know her. He wanted to know more about those who have lived outside Flutter Valley, the culture they came from -- having her shy away to avoid insulting him for being in 'his' territory, "I could make myself bigger if it'd make things easier.. I'm actually capable of being much larger than I look now if you'd like to see...?"

The more she saw of him, the more she was thinking that she'd stumbled across a distant relation, he was such a pretty little thing, though she didn't often describe stallions that way. She was sure that it was because of his size, and so she nodded at his question about becoming larger, stepping back to give him some room for that little bit of magic (she'd heard of flutters and their ability to change size but she'd never actually seen it)
"Why thank you, but I think you more interesting than myself. You look so cute! And you're very much like myself. The colours are so similar. Do you have family around here?"
She caught herself and then added; "I'm sorry, I should introduce myself before I pepper you with questions. I'm Anushka." and she dipped a curtsey, her long mane falling around her face as she did so, and she shook her head to move the hair as she straightened again.

Making a fluttering twirl in the air, he stood himself upright with the fluttering up, then shifted to his fullsize, his back hooves touching down lightly before he carefully set himself solidly on four feet. The fluttergryph clearly had a flare for flourish. which made the shift to full size a little more impressive considering he was about half a head shorter than the average mare and lightly built, any sort of bulk primarily being the feathers on his legs, the build of a poet or artist rather than a brave knight.
"Anushka is a lovely name, Princess. Very fitting for a mare as endearing as yourself. I'm Regal." He smiled rakishly, teasing her slightly, knowing that his name was a bit odd, his head tilted as he watched her through his lashes, looking playfully bashful, "I was told I held myself like a little prince and turned my face to the wind as soon as I stepped from my basket. Màthair* called me her "Regal little sprite" and it stuck long enough that it became my given name during the naming ceremony to make one's name official and I was dubbed Regal. Most of my family have more traditional names."
He then bowed respectfully before holding his head high, wings fluttering uselessly and expressively as his tail feathers once again perked to tickle behind his ears, "Aos Sí, my homeland, is not too too far away -- just a day by Eagle back... Though the valley is difficult to reach by foot, and often overlooked by those who are not Eachan... My people, the Small. Usually the only ones noticed by the Fada, those who are forever tall and live outside our lands, are the Ridir, our knights, and expectant mothers of mixed blood. The Pureblooded Eachan, the Sidhe.... "Flutters"? Stay small their entire lives unless they become a Ridir."
By the end of his speech, the snow haired stallion's expression was both embarrassed and slightly frustrated, smiling apologetically, "I'm sorry -- I've only recently moved from Aos Sí, and haven't quiet gotten used to using terms that are more commonly known for those outside who are not of the Eachan... Most Eachan are private and prefer to stay in our lands and hide from strangers, so we usually only speak to our Fada allies who already know our terms."
*Màthair: MotherCitrusCupcake (Sorry for the gaelic dropping -- apparently he was chatty and didnt want to just say "yeah its a valley somewhere in the mountains"

She watched his dancing in the air, taking a little step back as he changed before her eyes, becoming if not great in stature, at least a lot larger than he had been at first! It was the first time she'd seen a flutter do this transformation and it had been fascinating to watch. She wondered if it took a lot of effort to do so.
"Is that easy to do?" she asked, before nodding at his name. "Regal? Yours is even more fitting." she said, acknowledging the compliment with a little smile. He had pretty words as well as looks, and though she had a moments pause with the unusual word he used that she didn't recognise, she gave another nod.
"I can well imagine that, and it really does suit your appearance." she said, adding; "We do however have some similarities in looks, and if it weren't for the fact that I'm not aware of any flutter in my family line I would ask if we weren't distantly related."
Anushka's face became one of puzzlement; she managed to tease some understanding of what he said but she had to shrug a little helplessly and then she chuckled. "It's okay, it sounded very pretty, even if I didn't understand the words. So, can I ask why you've move away from your people, your homeland?" mindsend No worries, she'll just look slightly confused every time he does it hehe

"It is simple, princess, though it does tire one out to do too often. It is in the blood of the Eachan and Sidhe -- those of the fluttering wings -- to be able to change from large to small and small to large." Regal grinned, bobbing his head in allowance of her comment on his name, "as for why I left my homeland... "
He blinked a little in thought, never really having thought of it in a way to explain for another, head cocking a bit as he searched for his words, "Mmn... Why I left... Well, I'm not too far from it, so I can visit my family as I wish, but I can still see sights and meet others who are not of the Aos Si or the neighboring Brughadair and Mion-Shrad kingdoms... New sights, new soquili! a Nice territory of my own. Perhaps the chance to find a lovely princess such as yourself." He grinned in a friendly sort of mischievous flirting, a low laugh trickling from his chest, "I'm not the main heir, though still have a fortune set aside for me beyond just what I own now, and I have no responsibilities at home, and am from a very large family -- it is tradition for those like me to go out and seek my own adventure and learn from others. Plus I'm a hopeless romantic and reveled in the idea of making my own little glen to create a home base away from home for me and my companions and defending it, of creating a family in the land beyond the valleys."
"What about you?" The amethyst stallion lifted a snowy brow, eyes glittering like a richly colored set of polished Rubellite Tourmaline pendants, the gemstone feathers of his coat ruffling and smoothing. At his current size, it was much easier to see that his coat, instead of soft plush fur was made mostly of tiny, brilliant and soft feathers, the coat thickening at the back and feet of his legs into larger display feathers, while some of the soft downy feathers grew a little longer along his chin like a little bit of roguish scruff, while his hair was silky, fine and thick looking soft and plush and clearly made of hair rather than feathers, though the feathers at either side of his face were, on such close inspection, growing from his mane, as were the much longer feathers growing attached close to the base of his tail --no trickery was making the 'accessories' twitch and dance, they were, truly, part of him, "What brings you out here?"
Eyes bright and eager, those tail feathers were practically tickling the backs of his ears as he swished his tail back and forth, as if the stallion could not stand to stay still for long, and yet did so in rapt attention for his new companions response. She was his first Fada -- Non-shrinkable soquili - out in the Fada Tir (Tall Lands) beyond the land of the Aos Si, an exciting prospect for a stallion who had only ever met the few Fada that lived in their or the neighboring kingdoms, those who were fully ingrained and part of the culture of the land.

"Then despite it being a very interesting thing that you can do, I won't ask that you do it merely for my amusement." Anushka said, she wouldn't want this princely looking stallion to wear himself out on her behalf. She listened carefully as he talked about why he had moved to this area.
"And to think, I thought I would have to search further for a handsome prince." she flirted back. She pricked her ears forward at his description of himself, she liked the idea of a hopeless romantic, and it sounded like such a pretty dream as he described making a place for his future family.
"What about me? What I am doing here do you mean?" she smiled at Regal. "I was looking for something new, something different and something that was unusual but in a beautiful way. And I found you. So I definately achieved my goal for today." she flicked her wavy fringe from her eyes, and took a moment to look at him properly again.

The stallion fluffed slightly at the praise of his appearance, both pleased and proud, but also modestly embarrassed to have praise from a mare that, despite their physical similarities, the differences seemed to make her look, at least to his eye, more pleasing.
His own hair stopped just above the knees of his front legs, and curled halfway between his ankles and hooves on the tail. While his tail was well managed, a soft wave more similar to her mane than her smooth silky tail, his own shorter mane was both thick and wild, textured in a way that some locks naturally fell into loose ringlets in spots -- he had been working since his arrival here a week ago, though the two trips to visit with his family and collect more supplies for his new house meant fussy servants chasing the energetic stallion around with fine brushes trying to tame his hair into something a little more consistent, trying to dress it up into something more 'fashionable' with accessories he had sense shaken off, as he lacked his mothers wild curls or his fathers smooth locks, instead being somewhere in between.
His feathery stripes of gold and pink lacked the gem like detail of her short coat, and the short fetlocks made the mare look dainty compared to his rough, uneven feathered locks. Her purple was a brighter color than his own, with richly colored matching wings with subtle markings to his stark, if glittering, snow white translucent wings. Though, he thought to himself, Comparing looks with a beautiful mare will make most stallions seem rough and a little ugly in comparison since what looks good on a mare often looks different than what looks good on a stallion.
"If you'd like to see something unusual, I'm told most soquili in the Fada Tir... Ah... "Tall Lands", the lands outside of my home" Regal clarified, smiling in a soft apologetic quirk of his lips, "I'm told that most do not live in full dwellings -- many do, built by either by something I'm told are called "humans", or by familiars like we frequently do. Or Hippogryph mixes such as myself but with claws. But I've been working on a floor design for my own dwelling -- when I'm small its best to have shelter from the elements since raindrops are much larger then -- And perhaps you'd like it. I'm hoping to get it set up, and then set in heated resins by some architect mice to set the design and smooth the pattern out further."
He moved over to the tree, pointing with his nose at the little opening at the bottom, the stones set to spiral out of the opening. a few circles of taller stones were set out, with the hole between them left open -- a location to add posts for building additional shelter for the bottom floor, but without it the delicate beautiful design of different colors of rocks, smooth rounded and flattened pebbles set onto their side from dark on the outside and light in the center to create spiraled patterns, The occasional gemstone or gold nugget accented the piece, including a few pebbles that glowed with a natural light. Between them white, glittery sand flecked with gold acted as grout between the rocks, creating a sharp contrast and adding more light and sparkle to the currently unset floor, "I've spent a whole week on this. Its been a major project, and I've occasionally gotten a little help. One of my companions is currently fetching the architects. It's going to be glossy and smooth, as under a smooth, clear, shallow pond of water, but solid as stone. The carvers are going to carve designs on the outter walls, and some construction will be done to create some walls on either side here and a roof, and a door. The whole tree will be polished and sealed with special potions to keep the rain from rotting it and make it last for centuries with a little bit of upkeep..."
