Chaonis had been having a rough go of it. Now he knew what it was like to be on the White Moon's side of thing. Running and hiding, trying to remain powered down as much as possible. For him, though, there was no comfort in his civilian life. He was nothing, he was empty. At least as a senshi, he could almost remember. He felt terrified and stressed, he felt overwhelmed and very much like he could not handle everything as it stood, but at least, as a senshi, he felt something. And it was much better than nothing.
Even if it was terrifying.
The injuries he had sustained from betraying Painite were not healing well. He was lost and scared, and he had no one to turn to. He went back to the roof where he had met Navi every night, but so far, two nights in, he had not been able to find her. He was a bloody mess, his hand and leg wrapped in makeshift bandages, and he limped along with great difficulty. He powered up hoping he might feel her nearby, but so far he only felt Negas.
Except tonight, there was something else on his internal radar. Not a Dark Mirror senshi, but a Corrupt, like him, and he was drawn toward it like a moth to a flame. Though inside he knew that they were just as loyal to the Negaverse as any other soldier, he felt kinship. Maybe he could get some help from whoever this was. Maybe it was someone who would know him and help him, and who would not turn him over to Painite.
Or maybe he was just walking into another fight he was not sure he could win.

It really wasn’t often that the corrupted senshi of swans powered up, normally that was reserved for when she was summoned for meetings or whatnot, and to be perfectly honest, she was pretty sure most members of the Negaverse didn’t even know she was there, which was how she liked it. Tonight though…tonight she was powered and looking for…or well, hoping for someone from order to come after her. She was tired of this, and she was just ready to purify and be done with it. Or maybe killed, that would work to.
Joining the Negaverse had really been the biggest mistake of her life, and for the past…what was it, almost seven years now? Seven years of regret that just…she was so over it all.
With a sigh, the senshi felt someone coming closer, and was quite disappointed to find that it was not someone from order at all, but another corrupted senshi like herself. Well. Damn.
She didn’t want to talk…it got harder to lie as the days dragged on…and she didn’t want to be killed by someone on the side of chaos, no, she would truly rather a magnificent death at the hands of someone who thought they were saving the world, because that sounded so much more…magical.
And the world could surely use a little more magic. The good kind, that is.
As the other corrupt moved close, Albireo called out. “Hello there. Come to chat, I suppose…?” At least she could start out being friendly…

"Chat? I guess so."
Chaonis supposed that was what he was here to do. He was not good at conversation, though he was not aware that this had been a consistent thing with who he used to be, as well. Except back then he had just been too brash and egocentric to really care about any of it. Now, though, he was just not sure what was safe to say and what would get him in trouble.
Not that it mattered now.
Leaning on a wall, looking like death warmed over, Chaonis watched the other senshi. He was pale and even trembling a bit, his injuries largely untreated. But he was not looking for help with that, not right now. He wanted a different kind of help.
"Do you know who I am? Did you know? Before... this. Before corrupting...?" It was a strange question to lead with, but he did not really think he had much time. If she was loyal to the Negaverse, then he needed to get his butt out of there as fast as possible. "Do you know Painite?"

Albireo took in the look of the other senshi, a bit of concern on her face. “I don’t mean to be a pest, but you don’t look so good…” It wasn’t often that she felt pity for her fellow agents or senshi..but something about this one…it touched something inside of her that she hadn’t felt in quite a long time. Was it pity? Was she actually feeling pity for someone who was part of a group she disliked and didn’t agree with?
She began shaking her head as he asked if she had known him, because she was quite sure she hadn’t…or at least she didn’t recall. It had been a long time since she had been actively in the fight…regardless of which side. When he mentioned Painite however, the corrupted senshi stiffened and looked at him, nodding ever so slightly.
“Ah…yeah. I know…knew? Painite? I don’t know. We haven’t spoken in years…but she used to terrorize me when I was part of the white moon…her favorite thing to call me was ‘duckie’. If you want the truth…she still terrifies me, even though I make sure to stay far, far away from her…though…” She shrugged. “I mean. If you like Painite, I have nothing against her...I guess.” Or at least nothing she wanted to say…she wasn’t sure if her words were going to get her into trouble, and she sure did not want that. She was enjoying just staying out of everything.

Chaonis was aware of how bad he looked, but he was doing his best. He even kept his mangled hand behind his back, so she did not have to see the lump of bloody bandages wrapped around what was left of his hand.
When the other Corrupt Senshi spoke about Painite terrorizing her, Chaonis nodded. It sounded about right, from what he knew of the woman, and her love of being cruel had only intensified over the years. She was a nightmare, he saw that clearly now, and he wanted nothing more to do with the woman he used to call master. She might have forced him to join her team and controlled him when he was confused, but now he was starting to know better.
He did not belong on this side of the war.
"She is still evil. Don't go near her. She did this to me, and she's going to keep hurting people I know and that I care about. She knows more about me than I do now, and I don't know... I don't know what to do or where to go. I shouldn't be telling you any of this. If you're loyal..."
He would have to cover his tracks. He could not have her telling them, telling Painite, that she had seen him.
"I just... I need some help. Some food? Or... some supplies... but I'm a traitor... if you're loyal to them, to the Negaverse, I'll have to fight you..." he did not look like he wanted to, though he did not look like he was capable of it at the moment, either.

Albireo nodded sympathetically. She knew Painite was a crazy b***h, she always had been…and even though she had appeared nice to Albireo when she first joined the Negaverse, she had no reason to suspect that the woman would have changed, or grown any nicer to her, especially with her slacking off with anything and everything to do with the worthless twisted group that made up the Negaverse.
When the senshi trailed off at the subject of her being loyal, she snorted and shook her head, looking rather disgusted. “Are you kidding me? Of course I’ll help you. Come on. You can come back to my house. I’ll do whatever I can for you.” She moved a bit closer and flashed a smile. “My name is Sailor Albireo. Senshi of Swans…and I made the stupid mistake of joining this rotten group a long time ago…I guess I’ve regretted it ever since.”
The corrupt threw a piece of her long hair over her shoulder and shrugged. “I’ll do whatever I can for you. Are you looking to purify? Because…I might be able to figure out something…I used to know some people…”
Though…it had been so long…she didn’t even know if they were alive anymore. Or on the side of order…or anything anymore. “…At least I can go looking. I don’t have any sort of reputation, so maybe someone on the side of order would be willing to talk to me a little…and not make me some sort of Kill on Sight type of person…Which, no offense, but if you were hanging with Painite for any length of time, I ‘m sure that’s what you’ve become. She was always a nutter.” Albireo had not felt so alive in a long time. Maybe…this guy was going to be good for her. It gave her a sense of purpose. She loved purpose.
“Seriously though. I’ll do whatever I can for you.”

Chaonis was surprised by how nice she seemed, and he nodded his head, willing to trust her because he had no other options and because he was in desperate need of the help. He felt like if she had any reason to hurt or attack him, she would have taken it by now. It was not like he posed much of a threat.
"I'm Chaonis," he said, slowly. He knew his name, but only because he had been told it. It seemed to hold more meaning now, though, than it did before. He was starting to remember more about his powered life, about what he lost. It meant being Chaonis was actually important to him now, and he was no longer Painite's dog.
"Purify? I don't know..."
He just wanted to get some sleep and tend to his wounds. Maybe get some food, if he could swing it. But he felt oddly guilty, asking so much from someone he only just met.
"I appreciate your help... whatever you can do for me would be a great help. I just need to rest for a little... I have somewhere I need to be tomorrow..." he went to the old recreation center where he had met Navi before, hoping she would show up again.

Albireo nodded. “Of course, Chaonis. Whatever you need.” She felt such a great surge of kinship for this guy. It wasn’t fair what happened to him, seriously it wasn’t fair at all…and the ones who liked the chaos rushing through their veins...well. They were just born evil, that was all there was to it.
The girl stood up and gave a defiant expression. “You can come back to my house. I don’t care what comes of it. You need help, and I’m not turning my back on you. I’ll take care of you and get you cleaned up and whatever. And tomorrow you can go do what you need to and come back to my house after if you want. It can be your safe place. Us misfits have to stick together, that’s what’s up.” She gave a little grin and held out a hand, clearly expecting him to take it. Because what misfits didn’t want to hold hands. It was perfect. She finally found a friend.
Someone who was battered and nearly broken…but a friend none the less.
