"I told you it would worked." Castor's return was accompanied with a sullen glare. "Come on now you wanted to unhinge them and get them talking. You wanted them to discount you and become afraid of you. You did exactly what I said and it worked." Pollux was not beyond rubbing his plan's success into Castor's face. "You made me mention-"
Pollux held up his hand. "You agreed. You practiced. We went over this. You have to do what is needed to play upon their minds and emotions." It still left the prince of hail annoyed.
A month of planning and careful calculations. Had it been worth it? Castor trusted Pollux, trusted him deeply, but his brother's mind was an enigma to him, and he failed to see in the long run how making people think he was unstable would help.
Pollux was a man with his own desires, and they might have aligned fairly evenly with Castor's he had no plans to simple let the opportunity to use his sibling go to waste. Make the senshi afraid of him- they talked. They told others. Whispers of Castors 'instability' would spread. Fear would take root and they would be suspicious of him at every turn, waiting for him to lash out, to give them reason to target him.
Yet that would give them all they needed to kill those who would stand in their way.
"So tell me battle genius, how am I supposed to get people to listen when they dismiss me as insane?"
Pollux pat Castor on the shoulder. "Pity. Understanding. You are the symbol of the broken, of the unfortunate fate that falls to those who pay the costs of war." Castor's look was one of hurt, a look Pollux was fast to sooth.
"You become their symbol and reminder. You become the one who shows them the reality and I-"
"Will be the one to speak of sanity and mortality." Castor finished. They had had this discussion before, and it remained fixed.
"Don't act so upset, this will all fall into place." Pollux was sure of himself, something he hadn't been about himself, as a senshi, since he'd begun. He didn't know his past life. He knew fragments, where as Castor knew a tapestry that told the sordid tale of their relationship. Pollux was bloodthirsty. Castor recognized his own desire for carnage, his own want for blood, yet it was Pollux who made him afraid. Pollux, who had yet to sink into his own memories, and uncover just who he was and what he was capable of.
It was why Castor agreed. It was why he would comply and do what he was told. For all his power and his strength and conviction, Pollux held something far greater.
The ruthlessness to execute his plan at any cost.
"They're coming." Castor whispered. Pollux smiled and went to his sibling's side. "Shall we face them Castor?"
The senshi took a deep breath, moving towards the shadows.
"I was born ready."
