Family History: It all started 3 Generations ago when her Great-great grandfather purchased a few acres of land. He loved his fruit trees so much that he dug them up from his old place, to the new one. He planted several more trees, more that he needed and wound up with too much produce that he and his family could eat. He began selling and letting people pick it themselves. This eventually grew by buying more plots of land and planting more trees. One year they traveled to South America and fell in love with the cocoa trees. Since they couldn't grow them in Japan, they bought a good amount here. Business was very good. They distribute mostly to the best restaurants and hotels. As well as supermarkets.
Personal History: Her mother was Scottish and her father Japanese. He came to the country for a vacation. He met Val's mother and they fell in love. She spent her childhood in Scotland but when she started middle school, she was transferred to a school in Japan. Been there ever since. She was raised not to be spoiled, privileged in any way, or think she is better than the rest. She had to learn how to take care of the trees whatever the situation.
