“Whats up, Kally?” Sh'en took a bite from his sandwich, looking up at his dragon. She walked beside him along the weyrlake, as she often did. Their bond was that of mutual friendship and comaraderie, deep and close but not obsessively so. “You seem... uh... Moody.”

said Kalteth, huffing. Sh'en looked at her and quirked an eyebrow at the specks of firey reds and oranges and yellows that swirled unsettledly in her eyes.

“Yes you are...” said Sh'en, smiling, “Whats up?”

  Sh'en shook his head.

“C'mon, Kally. Spill it.”

she snapped, her eyes flashing red, before fading back to a dour, if content, blue.

He pat the mottled skin of her shoulder. “Well, any idea why?” he asked, “Maybe I can help. Since I am, you know, you're rider...”

  Kalteth said, apologetic,

Kindra had been scrubbing Suunath's hide for what felt like all day, making sure every patch of her hide was scrubbed and checking there were no dry patches to make her beloved Gold itchy. Privately, VERY privately, so not even Suunath could hear, she was glad Suunath wasn't as big as the other Gold dragons, she'd have been tempted to employ a helper or two ... well when N'mol wasn't around that was, but Kindra being proud as she was, never let anyone other than her Weyrmate help her scrub, oil or clean Suunath, Suunath was hers and hers alone, HER responsiblity

As you are Mine Kindra, replied the Gold, startling the young woman, making her chuckle. "Sorry Suunath love" she looked at herself "ugh i'm filthy"

And i would like a bath but not here, i wish to go to the lake she commented, rising from the comfortable position she had been laying in order to allow her rider to attach her riding gear, something Kindra was extremely picky about, she verbally tore into anyone she saw zipping about without a flying harness and proper gear, no matter how short a distance the pair were going. Mistakes like that cost lives, she wasn't having anyone fall and break their necks, sending their precious dragons Between under her command.

"Alright my love, the lake... we can both have a wash there" she smiled as she got Suunath ready, then changed from her dirty clothes into some light riding gear, even that was pushing it on the warm-ness factor, shards she'd never get used to the heat of Trine, but with her dark skin and hair she coped better than most, still she longed for Benden Weyr, "someday" she thought to herself

Perhaps Kindra but we must focus on the here and now, the place where i was hatched may be a long time in the retaking, if at all, we must do what we must here.

"you're right, of course Suunath love, i just wish we were there and none of this" she gestured with her hands and sighed "had ever happened and we were home, home for good" With that last comment she mounted Suunath and they flew straight towards the lake, the cold of Between, not a good thing when you were grimy with oil and scrubbing sand.

Look, there is someone here already, we will not be alone in our refreshing

Kindra grumbled, she'd banked on having the lake to herself, oh well ... she eyed the Green down by the lake, which was getting closer as they neared the lake. She couldn't help see the flash of red in the Green's eyes and she wondered, having grown more used to the signs of another dragon Rising, ever since Suunath Rose Kindra had been more attentive to the signs, making sure she could take Suunath and flee, should it be Narisa's Ceph or that other, intruding foreign Gold look to be about to Rise. Still, she kept her opinion to herself, she may just be a naturally Moody green for all she knew.

"Greetings" bugled Suunath as she curcled to land, failing for the moment to recall the dragon's name, Kindra similarly with the rider, there were just SO many, Malvren's and Benden's refugees having ended up at Trine, in essence almost three whole Weyrs residing in one.

Once on the ground Kindra quickly and expertly removed the riding gear, tossing her light jacket to the ground alongside the leathers, she would check them before putting them back on Suunath. Suunath made a beeline straight for the lake, sinking into it's depths with a delighted groan, just her notsrils and headknobs sticking out but she kept her eyes towards the green politely.

"Good day Greenrider, i see i'm not the only one that decided to come and enjoy the lake" she said pleasantly enough, anyone who knew Kindra knew that she could be friendly with almost anyone but she was a proud woman, such manners and greetings were politeness, not always heartfelt.

“Maybe a dip will help with whatever it is?” he said, giving her a playful nudge towards the lake.

she protested, whining in his mind

“I was just saying that maybe a swim would calm you down, that's all.” he said, shrugging. If Kalteth had no idea what was making her moody, neither did he. He'd been feeling sort of distracted himself lately, and his eyes kept drifting to his friend R'an's... features...

Sh'en looked up as the gold flew in – it was hard to miss a gold dragon. It was amazing how accustomed he had gotten to huge creatures flying overhead all the time in just two turns. He grinned as the gold dragon went straight for the lake, and he felt an answering tug and distraction from Kalteth.

Well, of course. he thought, with amused affection, She is – after all – shiny.

she said, shifting from foot to foot eagerly, her eyes flashing blue from distraction. Sure, she'd been reluctant before (for no real reason why that she could find) but, seeing the gold swimming around... she wanted in!

he said, giving her another shove. She wiggled and joined the gold in the water, splashing a little more than she should have.

Kalteth greeted. The water was good as it flowed along her scales – it was always good. It didn't do anything for her funny mood though...

“Oh, no.” said Sh'en. He looked over her, appraising. It was the golds the ruled the Weyr, after all, and it was good to watch those in charge. Sh'en wouldn't want their job. “On a day like today, I'm surprised there aren't more.” he smiled his dimpled, amiable smile and held out a hand for her to shake. “Sh'en, of Green Kalteth.” he introduced himself, “and you?”

Suunath gave a draconic smile when the green joined her in the water, though she she was splashed in the eye she gave a sharp snort, lifting her head out of the water and shaking it before sinking back down again, spreading her wings out along the surface of the water, enjoying the feeling of weightlessness. Flying was one thing, floating was another, it required little to no energy to hover there in the water, hovering in the air was considerably more effort. "It is warm" she commented amiably enough. Though she caught a stray thought from Hers and tensed a little, though not outwardly anyway.

Kindra eyed her dragon, and the green joining her, she would have to watch for that one Rising soon, have Suunath on hand in case any of the dragons were hurt in the chase, had the rider been female she'd have been more concerned about their safety but she figured the male rider could look after himself, hopefully he could restrain himself enough, from the looks of things the dragon wouldn't be long before she Rose.

Her attention snapped right back to the rider fully at his comment Does this idiot seriously not know who i am? she thought. "There are only three Goldriders currently residing in the Weyr greenrider, i would have thought you would know who i was already" she snapped, giving him a 'look'

Perhaps Mine, he has not long been here and has not yet had time to get to know his betters she said privately to her rider, before turning her head to the green near her in the water You and Yours are recent arrivals? she asked. As her rider did the same with the man.

"Unless you have recently transferred that is" she added, mellowing her tone only slightly. Even recent he SHOULD know who his Junior Weyrwomen were, especially Suunath being so considerably smaller than any of the other Golds, including that new one. THAT thought she kept closed off to herself though, it wouldn't do to irritate Suunath by mentioning her size. The greenrider would have been forgiven had she been a Bronzerider, there were a lot of them but shards... he should have known his Weyrwomen.

Floating was fine for Kalteth, but moving was better: It was so much more fun to move through the water – she just felt so awkward when she walked on land. Better flying than that. Swimming was a close second.

Sh'en knew when he had made a gaff. He smoothly removed his hand, placing it behind his back, standing at easy attention. His friendly smile was still firmly in place, but his eyes studied her intensely.

So. Short fuse..

said Kalteth,

”Yes, ma'am.” he said, cheerfully, ”I have noticed that there are only three. However, I have never met any of you, nor your dragons, face to face, save for Cephieth.” he gave his dragon a fond glance as she enjoyed the water. ”I was distracted at the time”

And to be honest, all three golds look the same...

retorted Kalteth. She could tell the golds apart, though she was a bit foggy on which was which... she hadn't been paying attention that well. Still!

asserted Kalteth.

he said to his dragon, giving her a mental kiss on her mottled green cheek.

”... So you will forgive me for asking... Which of the three are you, Ma'am? I would be honored to properly make your aquaintence.”
