Aika grew up in the countryside, not really making contact with people besides her six family members (mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, an older sister, and a younger brother). Her mother, being a former weapon, and her father, her mother's meister, had trained Aika to use her abilities as a weapon. When her parents had felt that Aika was in full control of herself, they granted her more freedom and allowed her to travel to the city from time to time. One day, Aika had made a trip to the city with her grandmother and father. When they had returned, they had found that their family was murdered by a witch, their souls taken as well. Aika's father had to use his daughter to fight against the witch out of anger. Now, Aika holds a grudge against all witches, and hopes to avenge her slaughtered family by becoming the strongest and wisest weapon of all.
