Adri was pacing outside of her den. Well her and Waridi, they had just finished cleaning it up and were just about ready to move in. She was pretty proud of the den they had set up. It was plenty spacious, she couldn't help but think they would definitely have room for cubs here when the day came.

However he had disappered on her, she wasn't sure where he had gone but she was sure that he would be back anytime. It was in his character to jet off here and there always excitable the way he was.

Waridi'upya couldn't believe his turn of events! Just a few short days ago he had been a lone bachelor, dreaming of a fresh start while living at home and then bam, new life! He couldn't keep the bounce of his step as he led his parents back to his new den. It was further out than most of the others, up a few steep crags and around some sharp curves. "You're not going to believe the surprise~" Of course, like his father, he unintentionally planned to give his parents a heart attack.

After all, he had only told them vague things to insinuate he had a new home, but not what lay within. He couldn't stop grinning.

Issa huffed as he walked behind his son, pulling himself up onto rocks that his boy practically sailed over. He had energy, too, but not that much! Was he a Sun or something?! "Slow down, Ridi! I'm a lion, not a leopard." All of this climbing was pulling muscles he didn't even know he had.

Turning back to look at his mate, Issa had to smile. It was all too familiar to the days where he and Idris had searched for their own den. And now they had a daughter who was mated! Maybe one day they would even be grandparents. Looking forward at Waridi....that thought was frightening.

Calmly climbing rock after rock, Idris couldn't help a bit of pride at seeing how spry her son was. So much energy and strength. Though, she was entirely suspicious of that goofy expression of his. What was so great about this den? "Why would you pick a den way out here?" she asked, looking back down the steep shift of land they were climbing. She had to admit that it was a good spot to pick, but... why so far from home? She shoved the babying mother in herself down and focused instead and swiping at her mate's haunches. "You're slowing us down, Issa," she said with a smirk and she leapt to get ahead of him. There was no way she could keep up with her son, but she could readily hassle her mate, at least.

Adri could hear the party coming before she could see them. She swallowed hard at the sound of more then just Waridi's voice. She had met his sister once in passing not that Waridi knew that yet, and she knew that wasn't his sister's voice or her mates. She swallowed hard wondering what exactly Waridi was bringing her way.

It wasn't long before she saw Waridi making the last of the climb in easy steps. She resisted the urge to shuffle off into their den when she saw too older lions with him that she could only assume where his parents, instead she put a pleasant smile on her face and tried not to look to terrified.

Moose:
An eyeroll was all that Waridi gave to his father in ways of response. If he knew what lay beyond the crags then he would want to pick up the pace as well. "Safety. The others were too exposed and with an older den I didn't need to spend as much time digging it out to have adequate space for a growing family." Didn't he mean future family? Had he said too much already? Waridi bit his lower lip and pondered on it as he rounded a corner.

Issa had to admit, he was slightly impressed in his son, not that he would let him see it. The boy had a good head on his shoulders when he wasn't clinging to his father's tail. When had his shoulders gotten so broad? Had he always been so tall? It was a little distressing, now that they were this close to seeing him go. "Hey, hey! Keep that paw to yourself, Idris. Unless....you're offering to carry me." He leaned back against her, dramatically slowing them down with a sigh before Waridi came to a stop. Oh, were they there?

Waridi's heart felt like it was doing sumersaults in his throat. He walked the space between Adri and his parents, noticing when his father stilled behind him. He cleared his throat, and looked between the three. "So...I wasn't exactly planning on doing this like this, but...well, Mom, Dad, this is Adri. Adri, these are my parents."

Space for a growing family? Goodness. How far ahead was that boy planning? He had to find a mate first! Idris sighed softly. Ridi had always been excitable.

"Issa, I've been carrying you since you were a fluffy youth. Perhaps it's about time I let you walk on your own." She started to pull away from Issa's weight, but instantly froze when they reached the top, and saw a strange lioness. Idris automatically went on the defense, baring her teeth as she sniffed the air and glanced around. Most lions weren't alone... "Waridi, come ba-" her voice stuck as her son's introduction sunk in. He knew this female. This female was waiting her at the den that Waridi was going to call home. This female...... Wait-what?!

Idris finally sat down stiffly, her eyes narrow and locked on the female as she sized up this stranger who was apparently taking her son on such short notice. Hadn't Waridi just been complaining not long ago about not having anyone?

Adri was still holding her breath but she was glad when Waridi came to her side. She found herself leaning into him a little for support. She wanted to give him a dirty look for spring this on all of them as his parents looked just as shocked as she felt, but she thought better of it, she'd save her scolding for when they were alone.

"Hello, its a pleasure to meet you." Adri said bowing her head low. Immediately the manners she had learnt from her old home came flodding back to her. She need Adri's parently to accept her as she was hoping to be a member of their family.

"I am so sorry Waridi surprised you like this, I assure you I am surprised to. That being said I am very excited to meet you both. Waridi has been such a kind soul to me."

Moose:
"Oh come on now, Idris, you could have dropped me years ago." Issa was prepared to tease his dear mate, but his tongue was swollen in his mouth. While he wasn't as intense in his reaction as Idris, Issa was defensive. Who was this lioness to his son? He furrowed his brows, waiting until the explanation...and then promptly dropping his jaw to the floor. "What?!"

There was no way to take back his words, though Waridi wasn't sure that he wanted to. Maybe the shock value? He certainly would have wanted to smooth that out for all parties involved. Moving his paw to cover hers and gave her an apologetic look. "It was just...I didn't have much of a choice, honestly. Dad kept asking about where I was going, about the den..." It seemed bluntless had skipped Issa all together and settled from Grandmother to Grandson.

Issa flopped down beside Idris and swallowed, his brows furrowing, then opening and furrowing as his mouth couldn't decide if it wanted to be opened or closed. "...He has? Well thats good." He gave a side long glance at Idris and smiled. "It's nice to meet you, Adri."

Idris didn't know what to say. "Not quite kind enough to warn us, apparently," she muttered, aiming a hard glare at her son. She couldn't blame the girl, if she truly was as surprised as they were. "There is nothing for you to be sorry about, Adri." she said shortly, still glaring at Waridi. By now, she was just grouching for the sake of being grumpy at being surprised like this. She'd never been fond of surprises. "You, on the other hand, Waridi'upya..." Her maw was tight as she came just short of pouting at her son. "It isn't that difficult to simply say you have an interest that you're seeing. Honestly, you're as bad as your father."

Unfortunatly, Idris could only let herself get so angry. After all.... there was still a certain mother of Issa's she had yet to meet, and their cubs were full grown...

nessiaing:
Adri tried to keep her smile though she was admittedly more then just a little intimadated by the couple. She couldn't help but smile a little at the scolding Waridi got from his mother, it was shocking to see how different the two were, but she could tell that his mother loved him a great deal.

"Surprise or not I am glad that we all go to meet, and that you get to see our new home. Waridi and I have been working pretty hard. Its the first den I've had aside from my father's that I lived in when I was younger." Adri turned her body towards the den, intending for everyone to follow her and take a look. She insured to stay close to Waridi though she wanted the security of him being close by.

Moose:
Issa bumped his shoulder into Idris'. "I would have liked to have known about this pretty dear myself, but I am not about to let that deter me from welcoming you into the fold. If..I'm correct in assuming that the two of you are going to mate?" It hadn't been formally announced, and he wasn't honestly sure if the affection between them wasn't solely physically based.

"I'm sorry, mother." Unlike the older female, he truly did pout, momentarily put off. Her opinion mattered greatly to the male, and while he had known to expect this reaction, it still stung. "I don't see how you can criticize me," He gave a crooked grin. "Not everyone can have a cubhood romance like Bryne and Vogel."

Or his parents, for that matter. He wasn't the only one to know that their romance had started when his father was still a young lion himself. "Normal" didn't exactly run in his family. Still, his fathers question bugged him; should he be the one to say it, or should she? Did it matter? So, he switched subjects. "Come on, one look at the place and you'll forget all about your irritation." Waridi looked at his father, who only snorted. They both knew the chances of that happening were slightly higher than boars that could fly. He walked close to Adri, pointing out the den at large. "It was a lot smaller before we started work. But you see that support log back there? It's made the space twice as big."

Big enough for grandcubs, Issa suspected. Still, he gave a whistle as he looked about the space. "Adri, you have good taste."

Idris glanced to her mate and snorted. Why could he always be so chipper about things? She wanted to be miffed for much longer, but she was beginning to relax whether she wanted to or not. The girl Adri was very sweet...

"Not everyone is my only son, either," she retorted, a tiny smirk relaxing her maw. Young love was so... well, something she couldn't describe, and that alone made it mystical to her. Her own love.... quite mystical indeed.

She followed into the den, and nodded with approval. Yes... this would make a fine home for her son and- ....and his family. She shook her head. Growing so fast.

nessiaing:
Adri beamed with pride as Waridi's parents seemed to warm a little to the situation. When his father asked if they were to mate she blushed a little at the question. She got a little uneasy when Waridi didn't answer him right away, perhaps he didn't know how she felt. Instead of leaving the question hanging in the air

"We are to be mates" she told her the older couple. She gave Waridi a good nuzzle trying not to be too discouraged he didn't speak up sooner. She wasn't use to having to be the one who was more decisive, though she was beginning to realize in this relationship she may be the one making the more serious decisions.

"I am glad you both like the den." she told the parents, "We are very proud and excited to start our new lives here" she was beaming from ear to ear now.

Moose:
The maternal love that Idris displayed was positively charming. Had Issa known his love for her would only grow by leaps and bounds he would have romanced her so much earlier, even if he had jumped the herd to begin with! "And not everyone is our first daughter-in-law either." He pointed out with growing pride. The girl really was a dear one. Although he didn't know her quite so well yet, he suspected it wouldn't be long before she fit snugly into the fold.

"Life mates," Waridi amended, nuzzling his maw into the tuft of mane on top of her head. He had been unsure, since they were so early still in their relationship, but he was solid now; secure in his place in the world for the first time. "You're both welcome over any time you like. I won't be a stranger at home, so I expect the two of you to be the same." Just not all the time. If they were over to much he might be annoyed, but secretly, he would just be happy that they were so well adjusted to it all.

"It really is lovely. Almost as nice as the two of you!" Issa laughed, beaming bright and happy. "I think we should be leaving them alone, don't you think, dear heart? If I remember us after mating...well, I wouldn't want my inlaws around."

"Dad!"

Slowly, but surely, Idris' form relaxed into a content posture. Waridi seemed so happy, and Adri was so excited... she couldn't stay upset.

Looking sharply over to Issa, she reached up and swatted the top of his head. "Of all the nerve!" she scolded. She leaned in to chew on his ear, but then whispered with a purr, "maybe our own den will be empty tonight~" Straightening up, she looked to the young pair again and smiled more readily. "I hope you two will be happy here. ...Don't hesitate to come by if you need anything."

nessiaing:
Adri was so happy despite the rocky start she was at ease with his parents a little now. Though she was sure she never wanted to get on the wrong side of his mother.

"Thank you both so much, and just like Waridi said don't be strangers. I came from a big family and I'd like to build a big one here too." She wasn't going to get into her life story just now with her new inlaws there was plenty of time for that.

She walked with them to the mouth of the den and watched as they walked down the incline. She turned back towards Waridi and nuzzled deeply into his shoulder. "Welcome home darling" she whispered and then gave him a playful n** before turning and running back into the den.
