Yukiko had been lost in her own thoughts when she reached the base of the mountain. She chewed softly on the satchel she carried and when she heard the voice she jumped where she stood and turned her head quickly toward it. It was a stallion. No, it was –the- stallion. The one she was just thinking about.
“Phantasm.” She breathed out, surprised that she even remember this name. She slung the satchel over her back and blinked over at him again.
“I-it’s nice to see you again.” The words were out before she knew what she was saying.
She leaned forward as if she was going to take a step toward him and then hesitated. Her ear flicked and then she walked toward him. She needed to head that way anyways. She wanted to get some stuff that the two legs left behind for the horses for winter. As she drew closer to him she tilted her head lightly and nodded her head in the direction she was going. She was inviting him to join her if he wanted too. It was an odd sensation she felt with his presence there. Her steps seem to have a bit more bounce in them. Was this was it was like to have a …Friend? Were they even friends? They had only met once before.
No no, they certainly weren’t ‘friends’ the word didn’t exist in Yukiko’s vocabulary! The mare was a loner and that was … She glanced to the side as she passed him. His expression was a little unreadable but it certainly wasn’t one of “Ugh I can’t stand her” or “I don’t want to be near you.” That caused the smaller mare to stumble but she caught herself.
