Accidentally created in his first successful attempt at meditation, Shikaku's mindscape currently manifests as an empty void, lacking any features aside from those he consciously or unconsciously wills into existence. No light, nor darkness exists here, nor is there a tangible floor, ceiling, or walls, leaving anyone within with the impression of merely floating in space.

[ Entered] One, two, three. Shikaku counted his breaths, the only thing left in the world that he could sense, not sure where to go from here. They hadn't said what do do once everything had faded away. Four, five, six. His breathing slowed even more as he relaxed further, the lack of sensation not leaving him scared as it would in the waking world, but, comfortable, as if nothing could hurt him here. Seven, eight, nine... His counting stopped where ten should have fallen, as his breathing had slowed to where he couldn't sense even that. A spark of worry formed, as he wondered if he'd messed up, somehow killed himself. But that fell away in the peace of, nothing. If he was dead, at least death was comfortable. Feeling even more relaxed, Shikaku slowly let his eyes slide open, and was unsurprised to find nothing before him. An infinite expanse of nothing, as if his eyes were still closed, yet different somehow, he could see clearly, somehow he knew that, but there was nothing to see. No black, no white, simply, nothing. He smiled, turning around slowly, finding that somehow he was standing, and was able to move easily in the nothing. As he reached a full turn, facing directly behind where he'd faced before, something changed. The nothing looked at him. A pair of vivid green eyes were, and they stared straight into his own silver orbs. Shikaku's eyes widened in surprise, stumbling back away from the new presence. Something behind him shifted, like wind crawling up his spine until it stopped by his ear, whispering something he couldn't hear, and his eyes opened. [Exited]

[ Entered] Shikaku opened his eyes as his breathing slowed to near imperceptibility, and smiled as he once more beheld absolutely nothing. The first time he'd been too stunned at his success to really examine this place, not to mention the shock that had knocked him out of his trance. Now, taking his time, Shikaku once more did a slow turn in place, noting that once again he was in a fully upright stance, though he was quite certain he couldn't feel anything beneath his feet. In fact, he couldn't feel anything at all, even the ever encompassing pressure of the air around him was missing. As a test, the boy raised his arm, waving it experimentally in front of him. Sure enough, he didn't feel any resistance, not a sign of the friction people took for granted in the real world. His limb moved through the nothing as smoothly as if, well, there was nothing there. Giggling lightly to himself, Shikaku promised himself that he'd stop making nothing puns, but in a place like this, there was really nothing for it. Frowning, Shikaku raised his hand again, and smacked himself across the face, wincing as he found that he could most certainly feel himself. "Enough of this." he spoke, shaking his head. "I need to figure out that was..." It briefly occurred to him that if there was something hiding out in his mind that didn't quite belong there, going searching for it may not be the best of plans, but he quickly dismissed that thought. After all, what were the chances anyone else could go digging around in his head? And even if they could, would he really want anyone else in there? No. The answer was certainly no. His mind was his most private place, and even Timmy wouldn't be entirely welcome there. ... Scratch that, Timmy would be the first person on the black list of his mind if it was possible to have guests. Never mind the possibility of his insanity being infectious, potentially giving your older brother access to your innermost secrets was never a good plan. ... Frowning thoughtfully, Shikaku considered that thought. He was sure that he was in fact in his mind right now, but could he really access that sort of things here? It seemed sensible enough, but had Segare or Luo said anything about it? He was pretty sure he could call on his chakra here. That had been the goal of learning the ability in the first place, right? So why shouldn't he be able to call on memories and such as well? But that wasn't important right now! He reminded himself, shaking his head again, astounded at his ability to lose track of his own mind, while inside of it. Right now, he needed to find out what was watching him. And sure enough, as that thought crossed his mind, he felt the hairs of his neck prickle, as the feeling of being watched invaded the nothing he'd felt up until that moment. Spinning around, Shikaku was nearly disappointed to find absolutely nothing before him, but the sensation was still there, and he was certain it was still coming from this direction. Hesitating for only an instant, he resolutely took a single step forward, ignoring the fact that there was nothing below his feet as he was certain he could feel himself moving in the right direction, friction or not. If the owner of those eyes was hiding from him now, he'd just have to find them, and make them explain why they were in his head.

Ten minutes later, or so he assumed as time was difficult to determine here, and Shikaku was well and truly ready to give up. He'd followed the feeling of being watched, sworn he could feel himself making forward motion, but for all intents and purposes, it was like he hadn't moved an inch. The scenery hadn't shown even a flicker of evidence towards changing, and he was beginning to wonder if the inside of his mind should really be quite this empty. Grumbling to himself about how there should at least be something here, Shikaku stamped his foot in a pique of childish anger he'd rarely shown in the real world, and his eyes widened as he registered the feeling of an impact, something he hadn't felt even while walking. Looking down, he still couldn't see anything below his foot, but lifting it and experimentally tapping it down again, sure enough it felt like there was something there. It made no sounds and he couldn't tell by feeling alone what material it might be, but it was something physical, and that was something new. Intrigued, Shikaku stomped his foot once more, bringing it down as hard as he could muster, and yelped in surprise as the nothing around the impact rippled. He wasn't sure if he was seeing it, feeling it, or just sensing it, but before his eyes the nothing seemed to shift, rippling outwards from his foot and spreading outwards. In the process, the entire expanse of nothingness seemed to take on some semblance of tangibility. He still couldn't see anything, but he could now feel a surface under his feet, the slight friction of substance against his skin as he moved, and he had the vague impression of the world around him being smaller, like there was a boundary now, where there hadn't been before. "Well done." Shikaku's eyes widened again, and he spun around in shock. That had been his voice, but he certainly wasn't the one who had used it, as the source seemed to have been right behind his ear. But, once again, there was nothing there. This time though, as he peered into the distance, it seemed like there was a glint of something mixed in, not too far away. Cautiously, as he noticed the feeling of being watched had returned ten fold, Shikaku made his way forward. As he approached, the something grew, expanding from a mere glint to a smooth surface, with something more behind it, or perhaps inside it. It was hard to tell since physics didn't seem to entirely apply here. The closer he got, the more definition he could pick out of the something within the something, and once he reached it, he discovered that it was, of all things, a mirror. Inside the mirror was a perfect reflection of himself, staring back at him with the same slightly confused expression he must have been wearing himself. Raising a hand, he waved it at the mirror image of himself, which waved right back with exactly the same lack of enthusiasm. Experimentally, Shikaku reached forward, noting that though it seemed to be a mirror, there was something different about it. It wasn't glass or metal in appearance, but rather something much more, or perhaps less... It was confusing. As he reached forward and touched the surface, Shikaku felt that it seemed slightly liquid if anything, and in fact it rippled from his touch. Intrigued, he pushed a bit harder, only to gasp and pull back in surprise as he felt flesh against his fingertip. Looking up in shock, he saw his reflection once again, but it wasn't that anymore. The reflection was grinning at him now, hand still extended, and instead of his silver eyes, those same green orbs from before stared back at him. "Time to wake up." the reflection spoke, again in his own voice, but somehow different now, somehow, other. And then, the reflection took a step forward before he could react, straight through the not a mirror, and pushed him, hard, with both hands, sending him falling, down, down, and further down into the nothing that was suddenly turning black, as if he had fallen off an endless cliff into the center of the world, and all the while he could still see clear as day the other standing at the top, smiling down at him until finally, he blinked.
