Tonight felt super charged.

Eris was on patrol in a remote part of the city as part of her watch. She expanded her territory because she felt she was doing to little, and she didn't want to think about the news she'd been given. The Queen was dead. Her whole reason of being was to get her back on the throne and now she couldn't because she was dead. She was rushing towards where she'd heard rumors of Negaverse activities, black hair fluttered behind her as her foot tapped the ground lightly before she was off again, in one of her leaping jumps that made her seem like she was flying.

Eris hadn't even been anywhere near her when she died. God she was so pissed off at herself! She couldn't be mad at her parents. (Well she could, but it wouldn't really be fair as they didn't know she was protecting the world from evil.) So she was mad at herself, as irrational as that was, like she could help being out of the country. Still, she should have felt the scales tipping like that, the fact a great, powerful force of Good was gone. Was she that self absorbed while she was in Japan that she disconnected from everything? Admittedly she didn't actually power up while she was there, treating it something like a sabbatical.

There seemed to be way less Negaverse activity in Japan, so ...

She was just going to blame herself for the rest of her natural born life. Dark eyes narrowed as she stopped on the roof of an abandoned building that ivy and other plants were trying to take over. With her current mood Eris couldn't even enjoy the beautify of that. Instead she started pacing, trying to feel out if this trip was worth it.

The Senshi of Discord was so tired and wary. Since the news of the Queen's death she'd done absolutely nothing but patrol on her off time and she even started applying for law-school so she wouldn't have time to think. Tension was eating her alive and she felt the dull ache in the back of her head that signified she was going to have a killer migraine before this was over.

The fact that Laurelite was anywhere near the Senshi of Discord was a complete fluke, but she was out, tonight—and bitter.

Her last run-in with a Senshi had left her injured, pride moreso than body. Though she would not readily admit it, it was a hard blow. She had spent most of her time in solitude, reporting only to Metallia and avoiding conversation as much as possible. She considered the whole Ganymede instance a failure, and in her position? You weren't allowed to fail.

She almost immediately teleported away when she realized there was an Order Senshi out, but this one was different. No strange aura—not even the same power signature as Ganymede.

It wasn't much, but maybe it was what she needed to get back on her feet. Maybe she needed a fight she could win.

Maybe she just needed to prove that General-Queen was something she deserved.

She teleported close enough to get a good look at the senshi. Who looked…tired.

Though she kept a bit of a distance, she was not far enough that she had to raise her voice much to address her. "You poor thing. You look like you've seen better days. What are you doing out?" she asked, in a voice too sweet to belong to any agent of the Negaverse.

Energy signatures weren't coming to her right now. Maybe Eris was far more tired than she thought because all of a sudden, she heard a voice that didn't connect with a memory. She turned sharply on her heel, holding her hands out in fists, a spark of fight or flight running trough her.

There she was. Another Negaverse agent who thought they could tell her what she could and couldn't do. Eris's dark eyes narrowed as she took in Laurelite's full appearance and just kept her defensive stance. "None of your business." That sickly sweet voice wasn't going to full her. Now that she had her in her sights, Laurelite's energy signature was right there. It almost made her hesitate. Part of her wanted to call for another Senshi to help her, but even if she did they wouldn't get here in time before the battle. ...To top it off, this agent's signature was strong. She hadn't come across this strong of one in a long, long time, if ever.

Maybe if she had the element of surprise on her hands.. Eris ducked down and ran at the other one before jumping up. A foot went out, aiming straight for the other woman's head, hoping to kick her and injurer her early on.

She could win this. She had to.

Laurelite was not used to senshi outright charging at her but, given the oddness of her recent interactions? She should have seen it coming.

Her lip twitched and she was grateful that she had the boost in speed that allowed her to duck out of the way.

"Stupid senshi," she seethed, loosing her sweetness quickly. It was unlike her, but this senshi was not like the last. Not like the one who had given her so much trouble. This one wasn't as strong—and didn't have that strange aura.

This one, she could handle. And this one, she would handle.

"You dare attack me? On what planet," she paused to pull her arm back and slice the scythe in a wide arc, aiming for whatever part of the senshi was still in range. "—Do you think you stand a chance against me?"

She spoke through grit teeth, and though she was so tiny, she wielded the great scythe with a skill that didn't come from familiarity alone. It came from skill.

Because, behind that sweet little smile of hers, was a monster.

And Eris had just unleashed it.

Wasn't used to a senshi charging her? Good. Eris liked surprising the Negaverse, it meant she still had a chance at beating them, even if they had a higher power level than she did. Still, Laurelite ducked out of the way and Eris was caught by surprise. Growling to herself, she ran past the agent and turned on her heel and get caught in the stomach by the edge of the blade.

It was a shallow cut, she'd managed to run past her just enough she didn't get sliced in half. Blood poured down the front of her white fuku and down to her skirt. Christ. That hurt. She hissed in pain and groaned as she tried to run.

That smile didn't bode well. Eris was trying to get far enough away to use her magic without having to worry about the scythe coming in and destroying her. When Eris thought she was far enough away, she once more turned on her heel to look at Laurelite and cast her spell. "Harmonic Discord Strike!"

The Space Cauldron
Sailor Eris can strike an opponent from afar to cause discord in their mind. Most often this'll enrage the enemy and cause them to be unable to differentiate between ally and opponent, subsequently going berserk on the nearest person/youma/park bench/anything. Strength and duration varies along the victim's willpower; the stronger the mind, the shorter the duration and the weaker the effect is - and the weaker the mind, the longer the duration and stronger effect. 30 seconds maximum duration. This can be used on up to two targets now.

Laurelite was powerful, strong willed and strong minded.

But her heart was full of discord, and Eris' magic only amplified it.

She laughed with a lightness akin to little bells chiming in the wind. But her eyes were dark and full of Chaos. The sight of blood urged her on, and if there was even the slightest bit of doubt, or lenience, it was gone. She moved like a shadow, flickering from one position to another. She seemed unable to decide where she wanted to be until she appeared just before Sailor Eris and kicked her, hard, in the stomach. She had planned her attack; the wall behind the Senshi would not have allowed a clear cut with the scythe should she have moved, but perhaps if she could kick the breath out of her and keep her against the wall, she would not be able to escape the scythe as easily this time.

Only a split second after she kicked Eris in the stomach, Laurelite landed back on the ground and planted her legs firmly. Now, she drew back her scythe.

Behind that sweet little grin of hers clung a dark, possessed evil. She was not laughing now, but her smile seemed so much more real when she gripped the handle of her weapon in both hands and with a strength so far beyond human, swung it at the reeling senshi.

Laurelite wasn't reacting how most did to her magic. Eris's already tense body tensed further, her jaw working lightly as she watched the other become infected. She didn't rage against a random object Before Eris knew what was happening, she was kicked in the stomach, causing her to give of a choked, wet gasp as a bit of blood escaped. She was up against a wall, unable to move because of the amount of pain she was in, her chest tightening from the oxygen she was trying to gasp down.

Eris opened her eyes enough to look at the Negaverse agent and saw all too late that the scythe was swinging directly at her. She moved all she could, which was basically trying to lean out of the way and the blade caught her right across her right eye. Blood blossomed like a cactus flower, staining the blade and dripping down her face and onto the white bodice of her uniform. A strangled scream tore it's way out of her throat like a beast clawing out. It was a deep cut. There'd be no saving her eye. She didn't know this now, but she was half blind now. The Senshi of Discord fell to her knees, one hand keeping her up as she leaned further still, the other clutching her face, screams tearing as the blood dripped down her arm, down to the ground below, forming several small pools.

No. She wasn't done. She couldn't be done. She couldn't go down like this. Looking up at Laurelite with her good eye, despite the tears and the blood, Eris looked as determined as she could. She was trying to stagger to her knees.

If she couldn't win this fight, she would have to flee.

Now if her body would just cooperate with her.

The sight of blood ordinarily might have repulsed Laurelite, who—though fierce General Queen she may be—still found the blood distasteful, though her eyes only gleamed tonight. Blood meant she had hit her target, and weakened her.

But her goal was not to weaken the senshi, not to scar her so permanently. Perhaps she would have admitted error, but now was not the time. Now, Eris was displaying weakness and had given Laurelite the perfect opportunity to act upon. She hurled her Scythe to the ground and lurched forward, wrapping her hand around the senshi's neck and shoving her to the ground. With all that force, how she managed to be graceful as she straddled the senshi on the ground was a mystery.

"There, there," she soothed, false comfort leaking into her voice. She stroked the girl's cheek, mindful not to touch any blood. "It will all be over soon. The end of your miserable existence. I will awaken you as something better, something stronger."

Her gaze drifted only briefly at Eris' bloody eye. "Something worth saving."

With that, she pulled her hand away from the girl's face and plunged it deep within her chest. It was a painful experience, Laurelite knew, but what was a little more pain in the grand scheme of things? When she could pluck this feisty senshi from her enemy's hands—when she could make a fine warrior for the Negaverse?

It was worth it, to Laurelite, who looked down at her with a look of such intense focus that it seemed her eyes might have been able to bore holes right through her.

Channeling Chaos was never easy, but she couldn't let this one go.

Eris must be claimed.

The pain was agonizing. It was burning and there was no relief because she instinctively kept trying to blink but she couldn't. The tears streaming down Eris's cheeks mixed with blood and slid down onto her white uniform and down to the ground below her where it mixed into a bloody mud with the grime already there.

Before her body could get it together, Eris's breathing became hard as Laurelite's hand wrapped around her throat. She was already panicking, so the most the usually put together senshi could do was claw at the General Queen's arms in hopes she cut her or startled her enough to get off. It didn't seem like it was going to happen, the way she was now straddled and the other woman was hovering over her. With her one unfocused eye, she tried to look at that face and just spat at her. If it hit her or not, she didn't know. Ringing in her ears made it hard for her to hear what the other was saying, probably nothing good.

All at once a hand plunged into her chest, making her scream yet again. She didn't know what was worse, her eye or the fact that there was a hand in her chest. She knew what was going to happen. She'd seen star seeds being taken from senshi before. Just kill me now and get it over with. Still, gasping for breath, in a world of unimaginable pain, Eris was trying to struggle, trying to throw this woman off of her before she could get to her star seed.

It seemed impossible.

Laurelite's eyes gleamed; a grim satisfaction glowed. Once, she might have been disgusted at the idea of taking someone so forcefully. Now, she reveled in the power Metallia bestowed upon her.

There were those that wanted to be saved.

And there were those that had to be shown.

It didn't matter if Eris' spit clung to her cheek; she did not move to wipe it away. It would be the Senshi's last act of defiance, though.

She squeezed the starseed, hard, with such ferocity that one might have thought she were trying to break it. In a way, it was to give Eris something to remember. Something to think back on if ever the girl should try to deceive her. Laurelite did not often stray from her façade of the peaceful, gentle General Queen, but she would not let anyone forget: she was to be feared.

A surge of chaos flushed through her, from her very core to Eris'. She could have killed her. But instead, she wanted that fire, wanted that power.

Eris could not fight. Eris was hers.

Metallia's.

The power seeping into her, corrupting her very core was painful enough to make her scream again. The changes seemed to start immediately. It was like someone was slowly dipping her into ink; every bit of white on her fuku turned black or a dark purple. Her hair... grew longer, seemed to engulf her even as she laid prone, not able to move.

Between the hand plunged deep in her chest and the mess that was her eye, Eris's consciousness was slipping fast. What vision she had left was starting to go black around the edges. She didn't want this. Corrupting for Eris was basically death. She had plans.

But she couldn't hold on to being awake. Her body was forcing her to pass out, black out, run away from the pain and just like corrupting, she seemed to have no choice. With her scream weakening, Eris's body went limp as the rest of the corruption happened. What Laurelite planned to do to her... She couldn't stop it from happening.
