In the beginning, Aeleos awoke. She opened her eyes and saw all. In her heart beat all that was and all that would ever be. She felt unlimited power within her, but all she could harness was the power to create life. She knew what must be done. From her heart, she pulled Atrios, so that they may build the universe together. Atrios awoke, an entity vast and formless. His first action was to gather up all that they were and contain them in ethereal forms, so that they may look upon each other and cooperate with ease. They found very quickly that they could not, though, for they could not speak. They could not share their vast thoughts, but Aeleos knew what to do. She reached into her heart and pulled from her Laelyai, who rejoiced in her new form and gave the gift of speech to her companions so that they may do what they were meant to do. Laelyai was strange to the others, for she was of magic, knowledge and speech, while the other two were aspects of creation, but they embraced their new sister fully, taking on the third divinity with love.

The First spoke with the Second and Third for a long while. When they had finished speaking, they understood what the three of them could, and indeed, must, do. Atrios was the first to act. He conjured for Aeleos a great cauldron so that she may gather the essences of the universe and mix them within. Then, he conjured for Laelyai a book, quill and ink pot. The book would never run out of pages, the quill would never dull, and the pot would never run dry. Lastly, he conjured himself a great forge, so that he may hammer out the world they were to create.

Then, they worked. Atrios forged what he conjured together with instruction from Aeleos and Laelyai, as the First understood all the essences and the Third knew well how to fit them together to create their glorious world. The manifestations they wrapped together were so perfect that they formed solid matter. Firstly, came stones, which they forged together and ground down and built up. They made many different varieties and they all teemed with the life Aeleos gave to them. Each type had it’s own essence, and the essence varied if different types of stone mingled together, but that was all. Every type of stone and sand and soil shared a part of it’s greater essence. They felt joy, knowing the foundation they were laying would eventually lead to their greatest of creations and help to care for them.

Once they had formed their world of rock and soil, they rested, all except Aeleos. Aeleos drew from her another, the Fourth, Unare. He was given his form, which was to be his only gift from Atrios. He received speech from Laelyai, who liked him very much. She shared with him her gift of magic, allowing him to form it into weather and certain elements and care for these as his children, while she retained the arcane for herself. Unare smiled and embraced her, then descended upon their planet. He shed his form and spread all that he was across the world, forming a great sun of fire to and a moon of ice to serve as his eyes and bring warmth and cooling to the world. They spun around their great world of rock, so that one side was never too hot or too cold. He watched the world as it changed, but soon grew terribly lonely. He could report all that happened to his fellows, but he would never feel their touch again, and they did not seek him out. His loneliness formed great, grey clouds, and the clouds soon wept, filling the world with water and thunder. Laelyai saw his weeping and came to him, speaking softly. He explained that it was terribly lonely, away from his family, and Laelyai understood. She pulled from her the aspect of magic and sent it down to the planet, encircling the planet in little pinpricks of light. These were stars, the company of Unare, and the source of arcane magic. They shifted and shimmered in the sky, often blocked out by the glorious light of his sun, but always there, adding the strong hum of magic to the world.

So, Laelyai was now bilocated, forever split but always the same. She smiled, and the sun shone upon their world once more, though the water from his rain would reform clouds under the heat of his sun. Much of the planet’s lower places had been filled with water that formed lakes and oceans. It ran in streams and rivers and creeks, feeding the bodies from other bodies. Unare and Laelyai saw the soil, now met with rains and rivers, swelled with life-force, begging for something to spill it into. They saw, and they reached out to the others so that they may know. The others set to work once more.

Laelyai and Aeleos formed a plan for more complex life. Small rocks that held abundant life force and drew from the soil’s life, the sun’s fire, and the water’s love so that they may grow and spread quickly, as the rocks and soils changed only very slowly. They called these rocks seed, and with Atrios they formed the first. They planted between streams, settling it in a shallow hole, and it flourished under the rains and sun. From it grew a great tree, and they beheld it and felt pride. From it’s branches dropped more seeds and it soon became the watcher of a great forest that spread from lake to lake. They crafted many types of seed and spread them all throughout the world, filling it with beautiful trees and flowers and herbs and shrubs, and again, they were very happy. Their planet was now even more beautiful, and The Watchers could see the planet grow. Again, they rested, all aside for Aeleos.

Now it was time for the Fifth. From her heart, she pulled Nymx. She did so with fear, as the new life would be her counterpart, opposite her in powers. While Aeleos gave everything souls, Nymx would take them away and use what bad they had gathered and use it to rot away at their bodies, which would in turn feed their essences back into the soil and turn around to support the rest. The souls were returned devoid of essence, as pure energy to be used for a purpose Nymx did not yet understand. They came forth and embraced the Soul-Giver, offering them a subdued smile and proclaiming their love. Aeleos felt much joy, and embraced their counterpart preparing for their endless dance.

Nymx took the souls of the plants that had grown too weak to hold onto them and set the bodies to rotting. She breathed death onto them and the soil filled with essences to feed those plants that were stronger.

The first animals were the insects, creations thought up by Nymx. They would aid the plants as well as feed off them, feeding into the soil, and helping some plants to spread their pollen to one another, strengthening their children. Slowly, they filled the land with creatures of all sorts, ideas from each of the divine mingling to form many animals and beasts and creatures. Some were gifted with just the knowledge they needed to survive. Others had much intelligence, knowing how to use the land to their advantage and learning over time. Some still were given magic. They took many many forms, but their souls and essences, while having varied individuality, were still heavily linked to what they were. Thus, they propagated on their own, and died when their bodies became to weak to carry their souls. Their growth was a system implanted by the divinity, and while they brought them much joy, they were still not the final creation. They were still not the most beloved.

Aeleos was the only of the divine that knew of the People, though the others new their greatest creation was yet to come. She still felt within her heart those that would guide them, and now was the time to bring them forth. From her heart, she pulled three other divines, the Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth. Naryol came first, The Law-Binder that would give order to the People. The Seventh was Anino, The Home-Sire, who would bestow to the People their homes and the knowledge of how to care for themselves and their dwellings. The Eighth was Karsycus, the Hunt-Mother, who would teach the People how they may feed themselves from the wilds that surrounded them. The three emerged and linked hands, breathing deep and opening their mouths in song, and from the song came the Ninth, Osine. He was song, the Kind-Singer, and he had brought with him a new kind of magic. Laelyai pulled him close and called him kin, though in truth, all the Divine were kin.
