Sometimes it was difficult to deal with feelings. Nick found that his best way to deal with them, and of course he had known this since a million years ago, but still. The best way to deal with too many feelings was to cook them away. And honestly, when you were as good at cooking as he was, it was time to just try something new…while baking was fun, he would be the first to admit, decorating cakes was really, really not his forte.
So, here he went, going to some big name craft shop to get some decorating supplies. He was thinking of perhaps just making a nice looking cake…and then eating it all himself. Because…cake fixed everything. Seriously.
He looked around, trying to find something that looked…looked right for what he wanted, but honestly, all of the nozzles and things looked the same to him…but luckily there was someone in the aisle who looked like she worked here. He walked over and sighed. “Excuse me, Ma’am. I’ve decided to get into cake decorating, but I’m quite afraid I don’t know how to start out. Could you help me, perhaps? Point me in the right direction?”
He didn’t like asking for help, but he didn’t want to mess up on something he was just starting on.

Emily always needed new tips. Her uncle seemed to always 'mysteriously' make them disappear (By using them himself) so today Emily planned to make replacements appear, in her room. Perhaps with new piping bags too - she needed them with her baking experiments recently, so she ws almost all but absorbed when someone spoke to her.
Emily blinkd and turned to Nick with a slow blick before tilting her head.
Was she here THAT often? Looked like pumpkin cake tonight for REVENGE.
"Depends on what you want to try." Emily smiled. "I decorate them for a hobby myself." And she offered a hand, flashing her biggest grin.
"Nice to meet a young padawan. I'm Emily. And you are?"

Well, this wasn’t really how he thought someone who worked in the store was going to act, but hey. He wasn’t going to knock it. At least she seemed like she was going to be happy to help him, that was what mattered.
“It’s nice to meet you…I’m Nick.” He gave a small grin. “So, you bake often? That’s pretty cool. I’m more of a savory kind of cooking guy, unless it comes to breakfast…but I figured maybe decorating cakes would be a good way to escape from…you know. The plague of over thinking everything about the world, like I tend to do…so. Where should I start, oh baking master of mine.”
He gave a mock little bow and grinned, his purple eyes glowing with mischief. This was kind of fun.

"Well, it depends on the kind of cake you want to make." Emily said calmly. "How do you want it to look? For a newbie, I recommend premade frosting and a basic kit of piping bags, tips, and food colors." Emily wagged a finger a bit, grinning. "But don't underestimate sprinkles, colored sugars, and such. It's all about experimenting. when you get more advanced, you move into things like fondants."

“Oh…frosting sounds good to me. Maybe today I’ll work on making fun little flowers around the edges or something. Do you make your own frosting? What’s the best kind to make? I’m not really in the mood to go ghetto and use a Betty Crocker cake mix or something. I’m hoping to make the cake from scratch…and possibly eat it all in one go, because that sounds like a damn good idea.”
He gave a little shrug and grinned, going for a set of fancy looking decorating tips. “Can I make flowers with these? Just hold the bag at an angle and squeeze, right? Make those fancy flowers…”
He shrugged again. “I personally don’t understand why people even like using fondant. Sure they look cool, but do they even taste that great? I don’t think so, at least. Do you like the taste of them? Or marzipan. What’s the obsession with it? I think it tastes…not that swell. You know?”

"It's like getting the tools to make a computer." And Emily nodded. "You need the right tools or it won't be the same. Some of these tips?" Emily held a pack up. "I'd buy these for writing. This pack," She held up a pack. "If best for fur. For flowers it depends on the kind. You probably want a basic flower, so try these." She offered a bag, nodding.
"I personally like using buttercream, but any kind is good. As for fondants and marzipan, it's a taste thing, but you can sculpt with Fondant." She nodded. "Marzipan too.Still, it's best to experiment. I made a honey cake once." Emily nodded.
"YouTube videos and books can help, too, or a good instructor."

Nick took the bag she offered and grinned. “Well, thanks. Buttercream sounds delicious, so I guess I’ll look up a recipe online and make it when I get home.” He paused, looking at her for a long moment. “So, just to clarify, you do work here, don’t you? Because if you don’t, I feel pretty stupid…”
She had seemed like she worked here, all knowledgeable and whatnot, but the way she was talking…
“If you don’t work here, maybe you could be my instructor. Since you know. I’m your padawan, after all.” That hadn’t sounded too creepy, had it?
“What’s a honey cake taste like? Was it good? It sounds amazing.”

"Nope. Worried I've beren here too much more like. My Uncle taught me to bake and then BETRYS me, stealing my tips!" She sighed, then grinned.
"Hey, I'd be glad to teach you if you don't mind learning." Emily grinned, dowing.
"After all, the master must teach the padawan." And she rose, motioning.
"And for the record I'd look into the edible decorations. Those help." She nodded.

Nick wasn't quite sure how to respond to her outburst about her uncle, but he gave a smile regardless. "I see! Well, I promise I won't be stealing your tips...or any tips you might give me on baking. See what I dod there? Tips...ahaha."
He whipped out his cell phone and gave a much more suave sort of grin. "I suppose, oh wise cake master. I need your number, and in return, I'll give you mine." The blonde waggled his eyebrows, holding out the phone "I think today I'll just head home and practice todat...and call you when I'm ready for a for real lesson? Then we can eat so much cake!"
The male grinned and laughed, happy to start on the road to becoming a baking master.

"Hey, that was a good one." Emily grinned, and pulled her phone out as well, pulling out her phonebook.
"Sounds good to me. Gives me time to warn my folks and when you drop in, I can try to get a practice cake made. Any allergies?" Emily looked up curiously, smiling some.

Nick nodded. “Not any allergies for me, oh wise master.” He laughed and pocketed his phone when he got her number, finally, snatching up the bag of tips once more and a few bags of edible decorations. “Then, it’s a date. I’ll call you when I have some free time and we’ll see what happens from there. Who knows, maybe I’ll soon be the one stealing your tips too.”
The blonde gave a rather well timed wink, and turned on his heal, waving. “See you later, my baking master. Don’t get your head caught in an oven or anything. Because, you know, that would suck.”
He was excited to start baking, and even more excited to have someone that he could call to help him…because impressing someone always made him work better…especially when it was a girl he was impressing. Oh yeah.
Now he just had to get home and…well. Bake.
