What is this?
•This is a contest for one of Richard and Astor's daughters. There will be at least two given away.

What is the prize?
•A bowl from their breeding! What more? Your input on how your girl will look! That's right! A custom* bowl! I will be doing their breeding, in LS.

What is the catch?
•This lineage will be strict and plot intensive. There will be personality judging to make sure they fit in well with the family, along with a quiz to make sure a full understanding of the line is there.

Ending Date?
•It will end two weeks from now, at 10pm CST on September 20th.

Concept Credit:
•The concept is based off of a Harry Potter fanfiction called Indago, written by LDDurham. Slight modifications are adapted within this concept.

*Custom limited by parents; all children will have to look like the parents

Rules

Griefing:
•If you don't win a bowl, please don't complain, point fingers, or grief in any way.

Qualifications:
•This is a strict line. There is plenty of freedom when it comes to plotting but mates and children will have to be of the same species. Mates can be exempted if the infertile route is taken.

Lineage Rules:
•All descendents must mate to the appropriate type; Subicios to Superos and vice versa. If an Indago DOES mate with a non-indago, there /cannot/ be any children produced.
•No RomeoxJuliet with werewolves. Nu-uh, none of that. They are natural enemies, with instincts to hate/fear each other.
•Again, the ratio for Subicios needs to remain low when it comes from a litter.
•Indagos won’t know what type they are until puberty. Indagos also won’t be able to experience lustrum until they encounter another of their kind that isn’t family.
•Plotting is a must. Even for the grandchildren. We’ll have a group skype chat for the family, and it’s enthused that anyone given permission for custom-in or that are already a part of the family join it.
•Do note that any potential, preexisting pets becoming Superos/Subicios has to go through Lolli and/or Bull for approval. If they're from another family line (such as the Airay line) it has to be approved by the founders of that line, and the owners of the parents of that child. Please be aware that we may reject you on the premise of character personality, ill fitting background, or ratio issue. The first two, however; we'll try to work out with the user if they're willing to alter personality and background.

Household Rules:
•Concerning “heirs”, if/when Richard steps down, only a male can inherit the company. Females from this breeding can potentially have their own “side branch” of the company, but they’ll never be in the position to inherit. However; if Richard sees it “fit” he can write in their children as heirs. Assuming, he and Astor don’t have any males that are desirable as heir.
•Even if the kids don’t agree with Richard and Astor, they must keep in contact with the family, at least Astor. They may not disown themselves.
•If they leave the world that Richard and Astor currently live in (which, really, it’s basically like our present day world) then there needs to be some sort of explanation.
•Any kidnapping/leaving for a lengthy amount of time needs to be talked about with Lolli and/or Bull. It can happen, but we’d still like to know about it and offer our own input.
•The children will be raised in a dignified household.
•Astor will not have as much status as Richard, since Richard constantly undermines him and treats him as a child at times.
•The children will be spoiled.
•Astor loves them unconditionally and shows it constantly; completely neglected children will be unlikely. However, some could feel a bit... disheartened by Richard’s expectations.
•The children will attend banquets and events, though it could mainly be just background information.
•Most likely, there will be a lot of fights about how the kids are raised, mainly, by Astor and Richard’s mother.
•Richard’s mother is the type to dote on the “potential”. That is, if they live up to her expectations, she’ll preen and attempt to train them for the business scene and finding a “suitable” husband.
•Arranged marriages can happen, if you want that as part of your characters background. Richard and his mother will both push for it. However; Astor does not feel the same way about it.
•Richard expects a lot out of the kids. He thinks that they should be consistently sanitary, clean, use their manners always, and obligated towards their work. His mother though, will have more expectations and will push for them to be the “best”. If these “requirements” aren’t met, Richard is bound to lecture. His mother, however; will use underhanded tactics and would try to make them feel like trash.
•Their father is the sole owner of Powers Industry; a big music-producing company and practically a monopoly in their world. That being said, as long as Richard trusts the kids, they can have just about any position within the company given the proper requirements. He’s not against pulling a few strings for his family.
•When Lustrum comes around, usually the kids are sent to Richard’s grandmother. There’s also a “vacation home” that they go to, as well as their “main home” near the company. Even though they may have a vacation home, there’s bound to be other vacations around the world, usually dealing with business that either Richard or his mother have to attend to.
•For any “favourable” children, the grandmother may try to cajole them into going away with her for long periods of time.
•When it comes to schooling, the kids have two options. If they’re a favourable child and they’re willing to, they may study at a private institution. If they don’t want to or aren’t favoured, they’ll be going to the school that their fathers went to. Richard will have “eyes” everywhere if the latter is chosen.
•Astor prefers to be called Dad or Daddy.

Important People

Richard Powers
There are a few things that Richard needs in his life, and he tries to live by that minimalistic principle. Richard can afford riches and splender, but he’d rather not. However; he doesn’t believe that his children or the man that he cares the most about should live the same way. If Astor or the children want anything, and given that they meet his expectations, he’s more than likely to give. Money is pointless to him. Yet he wants what’s best for his family.

Even though he may spoil his kids and mate rotten, he’s also very straight laced and has no qualms being a disciplinarian. Commonly, he’ll get after Astor for speaking out or getting into fights, taking away some of his possessions. Whatever misbehaviour that the kids exhibit will be promptly dealt with in the easiest fashion for Richard. Usually, it’s taking away something that they cherish, however; he has no problem sending them to his mother in order to straighten them out.

Richard also has set expectations for his family. Prim and proper is the least they can be. Which is why he gets so agitated when his mate decides to act rashly. First impressions are everything to him, and he’ll make that clearly known to his kids. If they don’t meet what he has set in mind, they may be guided into the “right” direction, or, they may be pushed into it if he has to. For the most part though, he lets his mother handle the parenting when she’s around. And relies heavily on her insight.

Due to how Richard was brought up, he doesn’t believe in love. And therefore, will never tell the kids that he loves them. That’s not to say that he doesn’t care deeply for his family, however. He’ll just never claim that he loves them. He’s very honest in that regard. Will only claim what he’s feeling if he knows that it’s absolute at least when it comes to the ones that he cherishes.

Nonetheless, he may seem a bit distant. His work will typically come first and his family second. But the kids are always welcome to come to his office as long as they behave.

Astor Powers (Tails)
Astor is nearly everything Richard is not. He’s rather young, nearly 20 years younger than Richard. Richard was the principal of his school and, due to the discovery of what they were, they were forcibly brought together.

Astor is, to put it bluntly, is a brat. He’s impulsive in nearly every sense of the word and is not afraid to throw a fist. However, it has toned down quite a bit since leaving high school. Before Richard went off the drug, Astor was constantly a thorn in his side; continuously skipping classes, pulling fire alarms, and starting fights. He’s rather short, being 5’3.

He’s also the type to try and sneak out of the pheromones range, in order to argue his point. If he has to properly ‘apologize’, he usually gets rather pissy when he’s away.

Astor has a father and a step-mother, plus several half-siblings. He’s the constant disappointment of his household and, rather than trying to make it better, seeks attention through disruptive behavior.

He doesn’t like Richard’s mother at all. Before having children, he constantly attempts to meet her expectations. When he gets pregnant with his first child, her belief that she’ll be a bigger involvement in his children’s lives slowly ebbed away at his desire to be accepted by her. When he gets hit by a car, which caused a miscarriage and ruined any chance at a career as a professional basketball player, he discarded all beliefs of seeing eye to eye; especially when she essentially blames him for the loss of the child.

Astor loves basketball and was aspiring to do that for a living. After his dreams were ruined by the accident, he got into music, working at a radio station part-time. When the children are born, he’ll work at a bakery next door to Richard’s company, purchased by his mate.

He will try to raise his children and will love them unconditionally. Will constantly try to shelter them from the business world and disagrees strongly with Richard. He’s also not afraid of saying that he loves them or Richard.

Underground
•Richard has connections to people that delve in the “underground” circuit and most of the staff at the school dabble, used to be or are currently in the underground. He doesn’t belong a part to any one gang (although, Giovanni is a close and old acquaintance of his) but he does still do “freelance” work in the underground. Mostly, he either takes a potential employee under his wing for a low non-contracted price and leaks information about the company and their artists.
•The children do have the opportunity to knowing the rest of the underground members, such as Giovanni and his mate, Dexter. Dexter is an old crush of Astor’s and went to school with him. There are plenty of gangmembers and information could be provided upon request. Most likely, they won’t know about the underground work until they can be trusted though.

Indago Information

What are Indagos?
•Indagos are a type of species that look like humans(in the TLN verse, tails and ears are allowed). When it comes to reproduction, there is no gender differentiation but rather, ‘roles’; the Superos and Subicios.
•They are often in a pack, with one alpha.
•The Indago gene is a recessive trait; an Indago having a normal mother and father is perfectly normal.
•Indagos have a high healing rate. Because of that, pharmaceutical drugs don’t work.
•Neck baring is a common quirk both Superos and Subicios do. Superos towards other stronger Superos and their alpha, Subicios to all Superos. It’s to show submission.

What are Subicios?
•The submissive branch of the Indagos, they are the ‘mothers’ or ‘carriers’. Their personalities aren’t necessarily submissive; it’s only when affected by a Supero’s pheromones do they become compliant, with the primal instinct to please. After some time, a Subicio is able to ignore the desire to please... to a point. And usually, only after becoming used to pheromones.
•They are stronger than humans, though not nearly as strong as Superos. •They also have greater senses and a high aptitude of adapting a physical skill.
•They are generally smaller than Superos.
•During pregnancy, Subicios tend to ‘den’. This involves finding a place of comfort and security where only they frequent, gathering soft materials to create a sort of ‘nest’. They are rather protective of their area, even towards their own pack. During pregnancy, Subicios require a constant touch, needing the nutrients provided from a Supero; this is a way for nature to sort of check that the Subicio has a Supero mate. Without touch, they will slowly become crazy; putting laundry in the dishwasher, walking out of the house in a robe, mismatching shoes, and a sombrero. That sort of crazy. And will become frantic. Mostly, it’s to gain attention from their Supero. They will also be more subjectable to challenging their Supero.
•Subicio’s are unable to impregnate. At all. They are also only able to carry for a Supero.
•The first time a Subicio encounters a new Supero, they are almost certainly unable to meet their eyes.
•Subicios are rarer than Supico, to a ratio of 1 of 3, which is usually the reason of packs.
•Subicios have a weird way of apologizing. If a Supero becomes enraged, the urge to please will most likely win out. The way they apologize is by going to their knees and rubbing their face on the Superos thigh, waiting for forgiveness. Forgiveness is granted by a hand touching their hair. If they are pushed away, they are not forgiven.

What are Superos?
•The dominant branch of the Indagos, these are the ‘fathers’ or ‘protectors’. Their personalities are usually rather dominating and controlling, though some are able to repress the instinct. With practice, they have the ability to withhold their pheromones, for those who want a more normal relationship with a Subicio. Their instinct is to protect the Subicio; some even go as far as dictating the subicio’s every decision, for the Subicio’s greater good.
•They are stronger than both humans and Subicios.
•They have something called a Bloodfury. When high on emotions such as anger and fear, they will develop silver markings on their neck, cheeks, and pelvic bone. They descend into an animalistic state and are extremely violent. Usually, the reason for Bloodfury is due to a threat to their Subicio. It takes a few hours to a few days to calm a Supero from a complete Bloodfury. During this time, they lose the ability to talk and perform just as an animal would, responding in growls and refusing anyone near their Subicio(unless a pack mate), especially when said Subicio is injured.
•They are generally rather large.
•They are unable to carry a child. They are also unable to mate with anyone besides a Subicio; mating with a non-Subicio will not provide any children.
•Superos are able to take a custom drug that suppresses the pheromones and their reactions towards Subicios. This drug is hard to make and a supplier would need to be found.
•Superos feel the urge to stay close and control their Subicio.

What are Hunters?
•These are mostly non-Indagos. They hunt down Subicios and Superos, sometimes killing them, other times capturing them. More times than not, the hunter will use a controlled Supero to hunt down Indagos. They gain control with the hostage of the Superos’ Subicio.
•Being kidnapped by the Hunters is an option, though we would like the plot to be discussed with us so we're clued in and offer advice.

Feelings towards Werewolves:
•Werewolves are a Indago’s natural enemy. Without the drug, the ability to suppress the urge to fight(for Superos) or flee(for Subicios) is extremely hard; if the Indago is able to suppress it, it is only for a short period of time. A werewolf bite will not change an Indago nor is it deadly to them. However, if a werewolf bites a pregnant Subicio, it could potentially become deadly, as the bite has a very high chance of effecting the fetus. If the child is far along in the development and a full moon happens, they will attempt to change, destroying the innards of the Subicio(yikes. >>) So, if this happens, it is highly advisable to terminate the pregnancy.
•Mating with a werewolf should NEVER happen.

What is Lustrum?
•Lustrum is a week long mating period that occurs twice a year; once in the month of October, the other in the month of February. This is the only time Subicios can conceive with a Supero. During this time, the Superos and Subicios have an insatiable need to copulate with a Supero; usually, the Indagos would opt to stay at home, seeing as public eyes are the last thing on their mind. (Remember, pg-13 on Gaia, follow TOS. >> This is mainly for those who do a little more.)
•The week before Lustrum would be considered a Subicio’s menstrual cycle; although no fluids are included, they experience high emotions of, well, bitchiness. Subicios do not want to be touched by anyone, especially by a Supero. They are downright surly and disagreeable. During this time period, it is usually advised to eat plenty of fruit, breads, and sugars; it helps curb the irritability. Baths and other relaxing methods are also suggested. This lasts usually a week long and immediately runs into Lustrum, where they suddenly start craving contact.

FaQ

Are they immune to the effects of alcohol as well? I can only think that being able to heal quickly, their blood would circulate faster with any abnormalities within the system, or anything that could be considered "health-hazardous"...
•They... aren't immune per say. Like, if they are bitten by a werewolf, they would still be sick. If they were hit with a tranquilizer with a high potency, they would still go down. However, the alcohol will clear out of their system faster than a human's. It also takes more to get them completely smashed.

You've made it seem as though Subicios get physically pregnant, which is totally awesome, but does that mean that male pregnancy is as visible as it is common? (I.E. Do they have a belly and crave everything under the sun?)
•When a male Subicio gets pregnant, they have... a layer of tissue in their stomach that, in hospitals, is often mistaken as extra tissue. There is also a line just below their stomach but above their pelvic that could be mistaken as a scar. Which, essentially, is how the baby comes out. It's a private affair, done alone where they nest. For several days after giving birth, the Subicio will be animalistic and will not respond to much, extremely protective of their young. Food given, they'll share half of it with their child, first... chewing it up for them. >> Because, babies at birth, can handle solid food, just can't chew. Ummm... hmmm.. Oh, the scar on the stomach will be rather irritated looking for the first week but it will fade. So yes, they do get a belly. And craving definitely happens. ovo

What are Astor's hobbies?
•He enjoys basketball, though he can't go professional anymore and his skill has deteriorated. He also enjoys cooking, but more specifically, baking. Practically the only thing he's patient with. He enjoys listening to music. And, when he's denning, he enjoys knitting/sewing, though he's absolute crap at it(in the regard that he constantly pricks himself)

Where would one start on a hunt to find the drug to suppress the pheromones?
•As of now, only those who discussed it with us will have the drug in their plot. However, it usually requires a witch/wizard to brew it up and very hard to get hands on.

With this being a recessive trait, is it completely overshadowed by the dominant, or is it a partial dominance? Could you possibly explain what you meant by "normal" and if not mating with another Indago can bear any children at all for the later generations to get the trait? /biology major curiousity
•Um... I know very little about biology. However, I mean normal as in non-indago. An Indago cannot mate with any non-Indago, even if they have the (dormant)Indago strand within them. A human produced from two Indago parents(which is rare), will still have the Indago gene; but only for the purposes of carrying it on. The human born from two Indagos can breed with humans and whatnot, though it may be several generations before another Indago pops up into that lineage.

With school, are they allowed to study what they want to or will Richard kind of lead them in a certain direction?
•Richard, I believe, will always try to lead them towards the 'right' path. However, that doesn't mean they can't push for something else; creates more tension and that's always great!

• What's the best way to have them find their respective Sup/Sub? Is it a love at first sight thing, a hunt, or just normal relationship with the underlying instincts and reactions until they know each other more?
•There really isn't 'finding' their mate. Half the time, it's coincidence. There are a few Indago packs out there and individual discussions on how someone finds their mate is great. And it's not really any of those. I'll break it down between the two types and how they react:
Supero: As soon as they're in proximity(Somewhere around a few yards) of a Subicio, they'll have the urge to claim. Especially if they haven't trained themselves to rein in the pheromones and control the urge. They want to claim, possess, dominate. At least, at the core. Some may be less this case than others but that's the basic gist. If it's their first Subicio they've encountered, more likely than not, they'll experience things they normally don't feel before. A usually submissive Supero being extremely dominating with his/her Sub is definitely not unusual. When in proximity, they don't really... act themselves? If that makes sense? Anyhows, it's not love, it's not attraction. It's the feeling of claiming.
Subicio: For first time exposure to a Supero that can claim(i.e. not a family member who is a Supero), they'll be extremely obedient. Usually, to the point of not meeting the Supero's eyes without permission. There will be a nagging feeling to please, ultimately. This does die down a bit after... copulation. >> (though, remember. ToS) The angrier a Supero is or the closer they are, the more the need to please is there. This does not mean a Subicio is submissive; a stubborn, hardheaded Subicio could be forced into submission easily by the Supero. But, once out of range, that same Subicio could come back to his senses and get angry over the situation.

Would Richard accept something that was baked for him? Or any gifts? He likes to spoil the family, how would he deal with a hint of spoiling?
•Yes, he would. He accepts things from Astor all the time; his kids would be no different. However; he wouldn't feel any sentiment, really. Doesn't really think that it's spoiling? He's not very materialistic, he's more about the time that he spends together with characters. Which is why he favours Roxy(Lolli's girl from the litter) so much, I think. It's not the tea that she brings him or the consideration, it's the time that they spend together that he enjoys. If that makes any sense. -Bullterrierlove
