The Light tribe are the most peaceful of all the tribes, valuing their peace and quiet above all but their own magi and The Grand Weaver himself. Nary a glance is taken out of turn within the confines of the tribe, because to assume another is against you is to turn your back against a brother. Here within the confines of Lychinidos, the blood is thick, though in a very non literal sense. Each Light B'alam looks upon the next as their kin, and their pillar of strength. Without the B'alam next to them, they would crumble and weaken, something they've not allowed to happen to their civilization since they all began to awaken such a short time ago ...
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
OOC || The judging for the Featured Characters will be pretty strict. These characters play extremely important roles within the tribe and will be founding family lines of important cultural figures within the Light Tribe. We want them to be role played, and often. These characters are going to assist in building the culture of the tribe and preserving it for the future. Their offspring will carry on their legacy, and in a few generations their names will be remembered and spoken of with reverence.
arrow As these B'alam are the first of their line, preferential treatment shall be given to those entries who wish to extend their lineage. These are prized FCs, and as such we want to see them pass on their traits and trades to further generations <3
Judging will be based on the following qualities || xxx☁Knowledge of the setting! xxxxxx→ Study: Shop Front Page xxxxxx→ Study: The Beginner's Guide xxxxxx→ Study: Lychnidos culture foundation. xxxxxx→ Study: Light Tribe Guild We will be looking for knowledge of the shop's setting, knowledge of the Light Tribe itself, and how you use the cultural foundation and 'ideal direction' of the tribe to your advantage within the prompt.
xxx☁Conformity to the founding culture! These B'alam will awaken around the Magus of the Tribe. There are no references for them at the moment as the staff opted to sacrifice their getting official artwork for their magus for opening the shop up in the final summer month. If you want to make references to one of the Magus, currently the only named Magi are Pumbaa'Mlinzi played by Depawsit and Usha'Sri, played by Lady Kitania.
These B'alam would be educated directly by the Magus. Both Magus are extremely loyal to the tribe and to the ideals that will bring about the survival of their culture and their people. This means we don't really want to see any revolutionaries in the first FC's. These FC's are setting the standard for this culture's mentality. They were woven into being as ignorant as newborns, personally educated by Magus who were personally enlightened by the Grand Weaver, and mentored by their leaders until they were confident enough to begin teaching others. Revolutionaries or divergent thinkers right now would be...too soon. In this regard, we also don't want to see B'alam who would seek out relationships that would be non-reproductive in nature. Part of the duty of the FC's is to start a line, to bring about new generations personally educated and born into the trades of their parents. It's a little soon for alternate ways of thinking if a character is woven into a society that discourages it.
If the cultural information says that stealing is okay if it means survival- that is what the FC's will be brought up to believe. If the cultural information says that diverging from the body they were given, in any way, is against their laws, that's what the FC's will be taught.
xxx☁Creativity! We want to know what your B'alam is all about. What is their personality, their future aspirations, what they want in a soul-bound partner, why they were chosen for their trade, how they go about it, etc. We'll score extra points for real thought and heart. If you research how they do their trades and express that through the prompt, if you really put a lot of thought into the character, and if you convince us that this is a character you will build on and role play we'll take your entry more seriously than if you're just trying to get something pretty for your sig. Remember- these are very important characters!
xxx☁In-Thread Activity and Behavior! Whatever happened outside of B'alam is your business. We'll be taking a look at in-thread behavior, frequency, etc. as 'tie breakers' between favored entries. Sometimes we can't pick between plots, character ideas, etc. You guys have so much creativity and heart that we needed a system of tie-breaking. This is our way of letting you know that activity and good behavior are rewarded. Even though these award tiny points to the final score of every entry, it can be the difference between a close win and a close lose. Again, we -want- these characters to be active. They are essential characters. That said scores tallied from the previous fc contest will not apply to this one. This means everyone gets a behavior blank slate to start.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Enter only if... → you are willing to be active and roleplay. → you are willing to roleplay and be active with the tribe owners: Depawsit and Lady Kitania. → you are willing to roleplay with other tribe members. These FC's will be trusted with the young minds of their tribe-siblings. → you are willing to play according to the rules and standards of the shop AND tribe.
Do NOT enter if... → you just want something pretty for your sig. → you intend to have your character break tradition. These are part of the founding culture. Defiance should roll out a little later down the line, not right at the starting line. → you want to give these to a friend.
Rules || xxx→ Anyone, save for Depawsit & Lady Kitania, may enter. Even if you got an FC from the last contest. However- you MUST be able to make time for any and all fc's that you enter for. xxx→ You may edit entries up to the cut off date. xxx→ Do not copy the entries of anyone. If two entries are too similar, we will disqualify the one that came second. xxx→ You can enter for more than one but you can only win one. The staff will choose which entry they like best, you cannot set a preference. xxx→ We reserve the right to extend the contest if need be or to add rules if there are any problems that arise.

Magus
☯ Pumbaa'Mlinzi: Mlinzi is the Magi with a heart of gold, despite his many hardships in life, this old Magi has never allowed the lower things in life to drag down his mood. He always holds to his upbeat lifestyle, his milky white eyes, always shining with the innocence of a child, while his cheeky maw holds a wide toothy grin for anyone who cares to greet him. Mlinzi has a soft heart and it shows in his day to day interactions, he relies heavily on his mate and others to help lay on the hard tougher side of things when its time to get more intense and sincere. As he's never really been the type to keep a straight face, or the type to have the heart to hurt another.
Mlinzi has a soft spot for the children, and the sickly and can often times be found mentoring those who others would often steer clear of. He enjoys the mentality of "Laughter is the best medicine", despite his ironic living conditions for his eager and fantastic mood.
☮ Usha'Sri: Sri is one of the calmest Magi around. Always with a gentle smile on her face, she loves her tribe and the B'alam she watches over. She treats everyone as an equal, even with the females being more dominant. She does have a soft spot for 'shinies' though. The many colored scales of her species are something of collectibles to her. Eagerly, she seeks out those who can craft her beloved scales into fashionable materials; both to be worn and to be put up for decoration.

The Magi Adviser
Even the Magi in charge need a bit of advice from time to time, especially when things require one to have sight with which to deal with them. This being said, it is understandable that Mlinzi and Sri would take a B'alam under their wing and chisel them into the perfect advising machine. This lady stands more by Sri's side than Mlinzi's as Sri has the ability to take things into her own paws and do what needs to be done. Where Mlinzi is a bit more tender hearted and weak when it comes to being the one in charge of the stern talking tos.
Beware! The form is a small test of sorts. There may be trick questions that you will need to answer correctly if your entry is to count. Read the form carefully, take your time filling it out.
Side Notes || → This girl will be working very closely with Usha'Sri, and should be reflected in your prompt in some way. → Though she will be brought up and mentored by Sri, Mlinzi was the one to discover her. He brought her back to Usha and explained the things he could sense within her. → This girl will train other advisers under her, but these advisers will not be advisers to the Magi. They will be advisers sent out across the tribe to settle simple disputes or troubles that one might need to resolve. → Though this is to be heavily decided through her RP, she may grow to have the right to name her own successor. Given that both the Magi and herself approve, there would be no issues of which to speak. → IF the player of this character becomes inactive, the shop can make IC assumptions that she named a successor and we reserve the right to strip this rank away and hand it to a new FC. ◘◘◘Colorist/Editor || Lady Kitania & Little Yellow Jacket◘◘◘

◘═══════◘ ►Tell her story ♦♦♦ |[ Prompt ]|
** This lady has two portions to her prompt you are to do both **
She has just woken up, she is as ignorant as a newborn infant. She has instincts, thoughts, dreams, and curiosities. She is a complete being, a sharp mind in the body of an adult. She can hear the crisp chirps of the birds in the trees as her eyes slowly open to the sight of something large and white lumbering right into her face. She is too late to react and the white object stumbles completely over her with a light 'Oomph' of a response. As she turns her head to focus further upon the stumbling white boulder, she gasps at what she sees. A large white B'alam ... but he's different than her, in ways she can sense, and see. A closer look reveals the larger B'alam to be hurt.
Give us an example of a self-roleplay. Tell us how this experience goes. Tell us what went through her mind, and how she reacted to Mlinzi's injuries. What does she do or say that so impresses the male into bringing her before the other leading Magus?
---
Upon returning the Magus back to his home, you find a very upset female waiting in the wings. She rushes to his side to ensure his safety before immediately jumping on his hide! "Where have you been?! You know you aren't supposed to wander, WE WORRY ABOUT YOU!" Hardly finishing one word before allowing the next to fly from her mouth like a bullet. The more male, merely stood blankly with a small smile upon his face and a dead stare.
It is in her blood to step in and relieve the tension in the room, but how does she go about doing it? Remember that Sri is the one she will be working closely with, and she should probably make a lasting impression.
Show us who this B'alam is. Give us a taste of what we can expect from you in taking this role on. We want to believe this B'alam's story, her dreams, her personality, her spirit. There's no word limit.
You are free to take on the role of Mlinzi & Sri for this RP.
(Type your response here!)

The Abbot
Beware! The form is a small test of sorts. There may be trick questions that you will need to answer correctly if your entry is to count. Read the form carefully, take your time filling it out.
Side Notes || → This boy will be working very closely with The Master Cleric. This should be mentioned somewhere within your entry. → The Abbot holds a very highly dignified position among the tribe, he is the leader of ceremonies. Second only to the Magi of the tribe itself. He is the whisper on the wind of The Grand Weaver's work, the one to lead the path through the dark, the leader to the weak. → The Abbot, is the spiritual leader of the pride. While the Magi are quite dedicated to The Grand Weaver and have devoted their lives to his work, the Abbot is the true voice behind his words. → The Abbot is the passer of judgements within the tribe's walls. While he must consult with the magi, all vacationers entering and leaving the tribe, must come through his doors first. → This boy is said to hear things of a certain level ... though those are probably just rumors ... right? → IF the player of this character becomes inactive, the shop can make IC assumptions that he named a successor and we reserve the right to strip this rank away and hand it to a new FC. ◘◘◘Colorist/Editor || Lady Kitania & Little Yellow Jacket◘◘◘

The day is slowly becoming night as the male blinks his bleary eyes and pulls himself to his feet with a yawn. It was strange, he couldn't even remember being asleep, yet he distinctly remembered awakening. His ears twitched a bit as he tried to put some sense to that riddle, but he could give none.
He would have spent more time upon the question in front of him if it hadn't been for the strange sounds bustling around him. As though they were encircling him in a veil of whispers. His eyes blissfully closed as the words flowed around him, words ... and footsteps?
Coming out of his blissful state for but a moment, he was alerted fo the bulky male before him. The milky eyes blinking around as if trying to locate something. Sensing a bit of distress from the larger male, the newly awakened stepped towards him with a light greeting.
"Ah, there you are, i've been expecting you!" His dopey fin grew wider as he focused in upon the voice that had greeted them. "Come! We have much to discuss and such little time to do it in." He proclaimed waving a paw at the male, and turning his back to walk away.
Over the course of the coming weeks, the two would come to know one another well. Mlinzi would come to be the larger males name, and he would catch the other male growing quite silent throughout their many conversations. When confronted on why he grew so quiet, his answers were always similar in response leaving Mlinzi with growing curiosity.
He felt as though something was calling out to him.
Needing no further knowledge than that, he felt he had found exactly what he had come searching for. But what could their conversations have held that struck the Magi so strongly? Even more importantly than that, what is the future Abbot hearing that makes him feel so at ease and blissful?
(Type your response here!)

The Crystal Specialist
Beware! The form is a small test of sorts. There may be trick questions that you will need to answer correctly if your entry is to count. Read the form carefully, take your time filling it out.
Side Notes || → This girl, will occassionally need to work paw in paw with the Scale Connoisseur. The two will not only need to share potential trade routes, but also nifty trading tips to further the tribe's successful imports. → The crystals this girl collects hold no special powers, aside from the ability to absorb sunlight during the day and burn it off throughout the night. They are the B'alam's version of a flashlight, and nothing more. → This girl is going to have to be able to sell these crystals effectively. Meaning she has to have some strategy up her sleeve ... → A crystal's size does matter, and directly correlates to how brightly it is capable of shining. The amount of sunlight it absorbs, will only dictate how long it will stay alight. → IF the player of this character becomes inactive, the shop can make IC assumptions that she named a successor and we reserve the right to strip this rank away and hand it to a new FC. ◘◘◘Colorist/Editor || Little Yellow Jacket◘◘◘

There is an array of rocks and gemstones before her, but nothing more mesmerizing than the far away crystals she can see in the distance. She can feel their very presence humming, as though pulling her toward them. Though before her eyes can focus to decide where she should concentrate first, and bumbling white figure crosses her path and slips gently over her foot. "I beg your pardon, I was only looking for someo-" Mlinzi paused with a chuckle, before patting the female on the shoulder. "You must have questions, I am Mlinzi, and I am here to answer them for you/ Pausing but for a moment in his speech, he hoped she would respond in kind, but she said not a word.
"Are you admiring our scenery? Or simply put off by my size? I hope its not the latter, I don't think i'm [that big...." He chuckled once more, wishing for the millionth time that day that he could see but for a moment. But alas, he remained blind, and she remained silent.
Finally she uttered but two words...
'They're humming.'
Confused, Mlinzi tilted his head a bit to try and catch this humming for himself. But there was nothing to hear, at least not that he could hear. Taking note of this, he lightly tapped the female on her shoulder and guided her away from the clearing to begin her introductions to the world.
As the weeks slid on and their lessons became more friendly and personal, Mlinzi began to detect a certain pattern in the conversations the two would hold. The female would constantly describe to him the different variations in the crystals and gemstones of the area. All in elaborate detail, leaving nothing to the Magi's imagination. She was ... quite the open book when it came to the rocks so many of them simply ignored. Perhaps there was some use for her yet...
Give a detailed account of one such instance in which the Crystal Specialist's expertise really came through for Mlinzi. What was it about the encounter that impressed him so drastically? Was the idea behind bartering the tribe's crystals her's or Mlinzi's? Your prompt should answer all of these questions.
(Type your response here!) Beware! The form is a small test of sorts. There may be trick questions that you will need to answer correctly if your entry is to count. Read the form carefully, take your time filling it out.
Side Notes || → The male will be working very closely with The Fire Tribe and it should be lightly touched on, somewhere in your prompt. * As not much is known about the Fire Tribe at the moment, a very gentle touch is all you'll need. → The art of collecting scales requires one to be incredibly stealthy, otherwise things are going to get really weird, really fast around here. → He does not simply steal scales off a B'alam's back! That would be cruel! No, he waits for a B'alam's scales to molt and collects them from the ground. → There are many different ways to tell when a B'alam is close to molting, what are some of this male's tip offs? Traveling the lands, with a small rumble in his belly he stumbled aimlessly unaware of exactly where it was he was going. Until a gleam struck the corner of his eye, it was light at first, but striking enough to catch the eye. Trying hard to focus his eyes upon it, the sun only cast a brighter glare into his newly opened eyes. Yet the gleam quickly got brighter, and ... closer.
Finally it was upon him in the form of a bright white B'alam with sparkly scales the color of the sky's glitter. The male smiled around as his milky gaze stared blankly in different directions before finally pausing before the other male. "There you are, i've been looking for you!" He joked mildly, hawing at his own joke before pawing the male on what he hoped was his back.
As the newly awakened male would later learn, over the course of his introduction to the tribe, the white male with the stunning scales was Mlinzi, the male magus of the tribe. He was good sort, but tended to need help from time to time in one thing or another. It was on the final day of his introductions that Mlinzi came across something he hadn't expected to deal with. The other male could see it, in all its shiny glory, dangling vicariously on the edge of falling from the Magus' body. Yet he didn't seem to flinch, nor even notice it was there. Strange as it was, he felt strange to bring it up.
Sometime later as the two were practicing proper horn ettiquette, the scale slid off of Mlinzi's side and to the ground in on fluid motion, all the while glistening just as it had when it was attached. But, his new charge's change of interest didn't sneak past Mlinzi's eager little ears, and he whispered to him as quietly as possible. 'The scale has chosen you, now where do you choose to take it next?'
(Type your response here!)

The Master Cleric
Beware! The form is a small test of sorts. There may be trick questions that you will need to answer correctly if your entry is to count. Read the form carefully, take your time filling it out.
Side Notes || → This girl will work very closely with The Abbot. This should be reflected in your prompt. → This girl will have no healing abilities unless she becomes a magus. All of her current remedies come from a concoction of random things. It is your responsibility to tell us what she makes, and how. → The girl will have the heavy responsibility of not only working closely with The Abbot, but also with the soon to come Alchemists of the tribe. → As a Cleric, this girl is always bound to see something new come into her wing. Which means there will always be need for some new medicine! What type of recipe would she make to heal an assumed broken paw, that was really just a cub fibbing. * It is your choice whether she knows the cub is a fibber. → IF the player of this character becomes inactive, the shop can make IC assumptions that she named a successor and we reserve the right to strip this rank away and hand it to a new FC. ◘◘◘Colorist/Editor || Lady Kitania/Little Yellow Jacket◘◘◘

◘═══════◘ ►Tell her story ♦♦♦ |[ Prompt ]|
Unlike nearly every B'alam in the Light Tribe, the Master Cleric has been on her own for some time since her awakening. She has had some time to learn ways in which to heal and care for herself in this time. The reasoning for her delayed introduction to the pride, would be Mlinzi's run in with The Magi Advisor.
----
A rustling in the bushes startled the female awake and she quickly hopped ot her feet. Her heart beating a bit more quickly than usual as she frantically searched the area for signs of her intruder, of which there seemed to be none. More rustling - this time from behind her, and as she turned to face her fate she was met with a face to face invasion with a giant male. A small screech escaped her throat as she outstretched a paw and swiped at him before skittering away.
Mlinzi let out a small yowl of pain before shaking it off and returning to the more important task at hand. "I mean you no harm, you know. I'm actually here for you!" He tried to offer a friendly smile, but with the pain from the swipe it was a bit horrendous. The female frowned as she debated what she should do, but as she realized the male was not tending to his own wounds she knew what she must do. She sighed heavily before marching out of her hiding place and approaching him. Lowering herself to his level she examined his eyes ... what an interesting color .... and yet he didn't seem to notice her in the slightest, despite her close proximity.
"I can't see you, in case you're wondering. I'm unable to see, have been my entire life. I can tell you about it if you'd like?" He offered trying to get the conversation flowing a little more freely. Curiosity overtook her senses and she eagerly agreed, while nudging him to a clear path so she could take a better look at his paw. It seemed deep, and her claws weren't exactly the cleanest things in the world ...
As the two sat together, speaking of one's misfortune, while tending to another, a special bond was formed. Mlinzi offered to take her back to the tribe, having apologized profusely for leaving her alone for such a long time. The female agreed, stating that she would need to keep a careful eye on his mending injury as time took its toll.
As the weeks went on, Mlinzi's injury healed, and with it came a new realization. The tribe currently consisted of no one with a higher knowledge of anything than wrapping a bandage. Perhaps this female's knowledge would be of great advantage to their ever expanding community? It was then, that he approached her with the opportunity to change the pride - one repair at a time.
This prompt should detail how the Master Cleric went about healing Mlinzi's wounds. She is a Master Cleric! A simple band-aid isn't going to cut it here! Be as creative as you can, while also telling us of how she feels being leveled with the task of teaching an entire tribe the things she had to teach herself.
(Type your response here!) ◘═══════◘
►About the B'alam ♦♦♦ xxx◘ What's his name? Om Vikram (Goes by Vikram) xxxxxx→ Meaning? Literally translates to Original Pace or Stride in Hindi. Which he will explain means 'Pace Setter'. xxx◘ Personality || Out of necessity, Vikram is a very patient listener. His position in the pride is his lifestyle, he never has 'time off' because the Weaver could always be sending him a sign. The Abbot is very enthusiastic about his lifestyle, and all of the responsibilities (Or privileges as he sees them) that come with it. Every time he has a visitor, or his presence is requested, it is another opportunity for him to represent The Grand Weaver in the best possible form. The first time a couple comes to him to say a kind word about their idols, he will begin to long for a family of his own; but he would never admit it. When it is time for him to find his other half, the Weaver will show him, until then, he won't see it if it's staring him in the face. xxx◘ How was he treated by his parents? 1st Gen. have no parents. I see what you did there. xxx◘ What is his mindset within the Tribe? While he does have a unique job, Vikram believes one of his most important roles in the tribe is being a Civil/Spiritual Servant of sorts. xxx◘ What kind of plots would you like for him? Casuals: Participatory RP leading up to Ceremonies, Idol Blessings, Plots with the Magi of any tribe/colony, vacationers passing through the lines of the pride (usually his biggest source of information before it hits the rest of the tribe). Family: He will want a large family and he will be very devoted to them. They will be taught as he was taught, just in small doses. The nights will be full of long, meaningful conversations / friendly debates. Professional Aspiration: It seems logical for him to become a Magus in order to be closer to The Grand Weaver. Vikram wants to be the best vessel for Him that he can. xxx◘ What will he look for in a soul-mate? IC: He won't really look for anything, Vikram believes that when he is supposed to find the other half of his soul, Grand Weaver will show him. OOC: Spirited, spiritual, grounded, and empathetic B'alam. Tribe unspecific, though I'd like to see him with a Magus as he will be one himself eventually. xxx◘ What does the Abbot's day look like? Since Vikram's prime responsibility is to interact with vacationers coming or leaving the pride, the earth toned Abbot spends a lot of his 'down' time outside of his home in the capitol. As such, he is always willing to speak with any passing B'alam as much as he is with the Magi. Some come to him for advise, some come just to pass the time, but it turns out that most are sent to him by The Weaver. Vikram also attends meetings with the Magi and The Master Cleric. He doesn't particularly understand the details of her job, but he values her role and enjoys her company. xxx◘ Can he really hear voices? Not in the conventional sense; he has a very strong intuition which translates fuel for his heightened instincts. This allows him to be certain of the legitimacy of his judgements and metaphoric messages he interprets for those who are meant to hear it.
When he is asked about the rumors, he completely circumvents acknowledging them at all, it's not civilized conversation. But, what he will never tell anyone that is not his blood, is that these insights are stronger when he is wearing the very humble scarf that was draped around his neck upon his awakening.

►Tell his story ♦♦♦ |[ Prompt ]|
He has just woken up, he is as ignorant as a newborn infant. He has instincts, thoughts, dreams, and curiosities. He is a complete being, a sharp mind in the body of an adult.
It pained him not to fully divulge the answer to his new-old friend, it was not out of spite nor any sense of dissatisfaction with the Magus. In fact, Vikram's feelings towards him were quite the opposite; he felt as though he were in the Magi's debt for sharing so much of his time with the newly awakened B'alam. It was a true privilege to be treated with such distinction, it gave him strength to listen harder to what was going on around him.. That and his secret advantage: his simple, humble scarf. One evening after Mlinzi had retired for the evening, there was still something that the larger white B'alam said rattling around inside of his head. They were discussing ethics and there was a slight disagreement that spawned from an uncharacteristic reluctance to believe in one action or another to be right. But he was to be the Abbot, such decisions should come to him with ease and certainty as they were before the situation arose. The white male assured him that it was a tricky situation, but inspired little optimism. Vikram pondered as he walked along the crystal structures that grew around his section of the capitol. He didn't get too far before there was an unseasonably cold draft of air that shot right up the backridge of his neck, pushing his long hair forward in a small burst. 'The Scarf!' he thought to himself as he quickly grabbed it before heading out once again. Once he draped it around his neck as it was when was first awakened, a warm burst of energy filled his every molecule. It was as if he had just stepped into the sunlight for the first time after many long hours of darkness. As if some magical being had finally found him with the same expression Mlinzi gave him that first time they met 'Oh, there you are!', but instead of a paw gesture, Vikram was getting a full body hug that promised never to let go. From that moment on, Mlinzi didn't really have any other brain-stumpers for him, Vikram was ready to become the Abbot. Not because he had all of the answers or because he was better than any one else, but because he had a new, special connection with The Grand Weaver. He felt a promise down to his bones that in exchange for his lifelong servitude, The Weaver would give him all the information he needed to do his job. But how could he explain this to the Magi? It might be mistaken as weakness or crazy before Vikram can prove himself. Instead he chose to say quiet about it, but he most definitely held himself with a different wind beneath his figuratively spiritual wings.

►The Quiz♦♦♦ xxx◘ What is the name sometimes given to cubs who are brought before the lead Magi during the CoR? Rohan (males), Rohana (females) xxx◘ Why do the Light & Dark tribes share such a close bond? Because Light Tribe and Dark Tribe exist in balance, just as light and dark exist in eternal balance (balance and equality being rather important to Light Tribe). Also because a member of Light Tribe is soulbonded to the leader of Dark Tribe. xxx◘ One thing the Light Tribe fears is? Darkness—they have very poor vision in the dark. xxx◘ What do the Light B'alam ask of the Wind Tribe when they come for their crops and resources? A story or two from the outside world.
◘═══════◘
►About the B'alam ♦♦♦ xxx◘ What's her name? Sarababandi xxxxxx→ Meaning? Hindi for temperance. She will strive to keep a cool head whatever the circumstance so that her advice is unbiased. xxx◘ Personality || Sarababandi is patient, compassionate, and firm. She prefers having all of the information in front of her before she gives advice; rushing not only makes her nervous and unsure of herself, but sends her into a spiral of depression when things go wrong. Her priority when giving advice is to save as many lives as possible, rather than to get the job done quickly. As the world ages and B’alam become more brutal, this will probably begin to backfire on her… She is calm, and even when panicking inside, keeps a cool exterior.
Sarababandi has never thought of Mlinzi as anything but a capable leader; she considers his blindness to just be a part of him, like her stripes. She does not think of it as a handicap or a weakness. She looks up to Usha as a role model, and is honored as anything to be her advisor. xxx◘ What was her life like before Mlinzi stumbled upon her? Hard to say—Mlinzi stumbled upon her when she was, what, five minutes old? So I’d say her life, such as it was, was somewhat muddled before she met him. xxx◘ What is her mindset within the Tribe? Capital-Dweller. She does not want to make the mistake of valuing one life over another, so she tries not to make many attachments. All B’alam are her equals, but she does not often socialize, and thus does not often make friends, making her seem aloof. xxx◘ What kind of plots would you like for her? Getting her outside of her comfort zone (possibly by forcing her to give advice under pressure); exposure to different viewpoints and philosophies; tough decisions—forcing her to put more value on one life than another. xxx◘ What will she look for in a soul-mate? Humble, compassionate, honest, loving to all regardless of tribe, wise. xxx◘ Given Mlinzi's inability to see, how would she go about explaining a very sight necessary strategy to the Magus? I can’t really think of a situation in which this would be necessary, but she’d probably describe directions by scent (east and west would be morning sunwards and evening sunwards respectively—I assume he could figure those out by the feel of sun on his face). The height of objects would be described by the length of their shadows at a certain time of day, etc. xxx◘ Given that she is the Magi Adviser, what do you think would be the most difficult issue for her to resolve, and how do you think she would react when confronted with it? If the Arch-Magis’ (or any Arch-Magus’s) lives were in danger as well as another group of B’alam, she would struggle to determine whose lives were in more danger and whose to save. She would likely be forced to choose the life of the Arch-Magus, because they are the leaders of the tribe, and there may not be a clear line of succession. She would then ask to be held trial by all Arch-Magi (or as many as possible, including the Arch-Magus in question) to determine if her decision was the right one to make, and whether she should be allowed to keep her job. If they told her to step down, she would.

►Tell her story ♦♦♦ |[ Prompt ]|
--- Upon returning the Magus back to his home, you find a very upset female waiting in the wings.
He was large, and pure white in every aspect. Was that normal? Were other B’alam that pale, and were her own stripes an exception? No matter. The stranger was lying across her lower back and wheezing. His paw was bent at an awkward angle. “Sir!” she gasped. She had no idea why she was being so formal; he was…well, he was bigger? No, that wasn’t it. There just seemed to be something special about this B’alam, besides his size and color. “Sir, are you hurt?” Foolish question, but she had to ask sometime. Just to be sure. It was very important to be always certain of everything at every point in time.
“I think I twisted my paw,” the other B’alam said.
She wriggled out from under his bulk and lowered her head to inspect his paw, nudging it gently with her nose. He groaned in protest, but kept still. “I think you think rightly, sir,” she said.
His lips raised themselves in a grin, but his eyes remained where they were. “I’m not a sir,” he giggled. “I’m just Mlinzi. Could you help me up?”
The nantlil nodded, but the other B’alam didn’t seem to notice. Oh. He couldn’t see. How normal was that? No, wait, that information does not pertain to the situation at hand. Find it later. For now—“Yes, of course, Mlinzi.” She helped him to his feet, letting him lean on her. His considerable bulk made it tricky to balance, but she just managed it. “Which way do we go?”
“This way,” he said, gesturing with his head. “Just follow the path of debris.” -- The path of—less than graceful passage—led to a shining tree of immense proportions. The nantlil’s eyes grew wide with surprise and delight at the breathtaking beauty of it, but she did not gasp. It was just so…graceful, and shining, and huge, and—and her admiration of it was cut short by another nantlil, this one even slightly larger than Mlinzi, leaping down from its branches and storming towards them like a hurricane. “Are you hurt? Let me see your paw! Oh, no, what did you do? Where have you been?! You know you aren’t supposed to wander—WE WORRY ABOUT YOU!” She ignored the striped nantlil beside Mlinzi, instead, rushing out a stream of words like a roaring waterfall, holding Mlinzi’s paw, dropping it, and roaring in his face.
The tension in the space was thick enough to cut with a claw (despite the serene look on Mlinzi’s face), and quickly turning rancid. Without hesitating—without hardly thinking at all—the newly-woven nantlil had to step in. “Please, ma’am, do not be too harsh on Mlinzi. The moment he was hurt, he made his way back here without delay. I walked back with him, and nothing I saw would have put him in danger. I am certain, given his maturity and wisdom, that he would not have ventured into the woods had there been any danger.” Well, while she was at it, she might as well admit it… “He hurt his paw when he stumbled over me, ma’am. If anything, I am to blame.”
Mlinzi’s serene expression turned into another grin. “She’s not a ma’am anymore than I’m a sir. This is Usha’Sri, my mate. Welcome to Lychnidos.”

►The Quiz♦♦♦ xxx◘ What is the name sometimes given to cubs who are brought before the lead Magi during the CoR? Rohan for males & Rohana for females xxx◘ Why do the Light & Dark tribes share such a close bond? A member of the light tribe is mated to the head Magus of the dark tribe and they are equal opposites. xxx◘ One thing the Light Tribe fears is? Death xxx◘ What do the Light B'alam ask of the Wind Tribe when they come for their crops and resources? They ask the wind tribe for news from the outside or a story.
◘═══════◘
►About the B'alam ♦♦♦ xxx◘ What's her name? Chaarudatt xxxxxx→ Meaning? Sanskrit for Born of Beauty xxx◘ Personality || She is very confident, sure that the advice she gives her Magus is absolute. Having a bit of a gruff exterior sometimes, she is truly a sweet thing once you get to know her. Life outside the city frightens her, but she enjoys getting news from beyond, often traveling around the city herself to find important facts to tell the Magus. She is unwavering in her loyalty and will serve others before herself no matter the consiquences. xxx◘ What was her life like before Mlinzi stumbled upon her? She was only just born before she was found my Mlinzi and brought to Sri. xxx◘ What is her mindset within the Tribe? She respects her place in the tribe and is very grateful to Mlinzi and Sri for seeing her potential and helping her realize it. She thinks of them in the highest regards and puts them as high as the Grand Weaver himself. xxx◘ What kind of plots would you like for her? I think she could profit from a plot later on in life where someone attempts to discredit her advice to the Magus. Then there is, of course, lots of basic RP I would love. I think she would enjoy going around the tribe itself to view all the different jobs they undertake. I think it would be something that would help expand her usefulness as well. Plots to find her own love would be fun too! I would really just enjoy things that would expand her horizons and help her in giving the best advice possible to the Magus. xxx◘ What will she look for in a soul-mate? She will be looking for someone who is completely committed to the tribe. One who would never even think to go against the Magus or anything that they stand for as a whole. She would never go for the rebel sort and is more likely to want to be with a Light tribe member who wanders about than another who stays in the city. Eyes on the outside as it were. And she would find the tales they told facinating. xxx◘ Given Mlinzi's inability to see, how would she go about explaining a very sight necessary strategy to the Magus? It would completely depend on the situation. If it was guiding Mlinzi to something/someone, she would be very discreet about the act. Showing him slowly to what he was supposed to be doing. If it's something that he simply needs to be told in order to create a stragey, she would give him all the details he would need in order to see it in his mind's eye. Never leaving anything out, even details that may seem small to others could very well be the one that makes the difference. xxx◘ Given that she is the Magi Adviser, what do you think would be the most difficult issue for her to resolve, and how do you think she would react when confronted with it? The most difficult thing would be if there was ever a problem to arise between Mlinzi and Sri themselves. She is a very loyal girl and would HATE to have to choose between the two on any matter. She would rather they despute amoung themselves. The only way that she would think a reasonable way to react to such a situation would be to go out and collect more information on the matter. Advise each on the opposing views. It's something that she is good at and would believe a brilliant way to solve the problem.

►Tell her story ♦♦♦ |[ Prompt ]|
Chaarudatt stares for a moment at the larger white B'alam. Certainly him being hurt is her fault... Though she certainly didn't mean to be in the way! It was the place she was simply... well... placed! She looked at the other with uncertainty, slowly creeping closer and closer, not wanting to alert the other too much of her presence. Certainly not since she had no idea who he was, or if he even had concern for her! Coming closer Chaarudatt became more worried he had been injured badly. Coming to sit near the other, she lightly nosed at him. She wanted to know the extent of his injury. Wanted to know what she could possibly do to help the other. The other grunted and she started a bit.
"Can you help me?" He looked at her. Chaarudatt wasn't sure how to respond, so she nodded slowly in response. She was still stunned at what had happened.
She lifted the other up slowly, looking him over a bit, she saw the injury. His right foreleg had been scratched a bit in the fall. Certainly something on a clumsy B'alam would end up with. She looked him over a bit more carefully, coming to his face, she saw it. Eyes as milky white as his coat of glistening fur.
"You can't... see?" She questioned it a bit. Not really sure if it was a rather rude thing to say or not, but there it was. "I can help you! I certainly owe you that much after what I've done..."
The other seemed to smile at her, raising his paw and brushing it on top of her head. "I would welcome your help." With that, he stood best he could, with her glued to his side. She gently and swiftly lead him in the direction he told her. For a blind guy, he certainly knew his way around! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chaarudatt couldn't believe her ears! Though she could understand the worry, she wasn't sure how yelling was really going to help in getting the point across to this male. This male who was clearly just as deaf as he was blind. That's when the other female noticed the scrape on his foreleg.
"And THIS is why we worry so much! What if you had gotten hurt even more severly! How would we have even KNOWN!" She looked at him with fire in her eyes, clearly not happy with what had happened. Chaarudatt figured that now was as good a time as any to speak up. Perhaps the female would understand a bit more if she helped to explain.
Bowing Chaarudatt started, "I appoligize for the injury he has sustained on his leg. It's my fault... Well... In a way. It was I he tripped over when he became injured." She puffed up her chest a bit, certainly no point in stopping now. "I did make sure to help him all the way back here, to his home. And I hurried as quickly as I could! Knowing that he would need to be tended to," Chaarudatt paused for a moment. "And I figured he could use the help with him condition." She stood at attention, waiting to find out if the female would accept her explantion. Accept the information she had brought forth for her consideration. Information was an important thing after all!
The two larger B'alam smiled at her. She was certainly not expecting such a reaction! But, perhaps, this meant good things were to come for her. And she would certainly not say no to such things!

►About the B'alam ♦♦♦ xxx◘ What's her name? Archini xxxxxx→ Meaning? Sanskrit for ray of light xxx◘ Personality || She is sweet and gentle when it comes to others, not enjoying confrontation on a day to day basis. Often seen as a meek and shy individual, everything changes when she is selling her wares! She becomes a confident and firey personality. Not accepting anything below when her crystals are deemed to be worth to her. They are her prized posessions and certainly not something that can simply be given away! She will often get into heated arguments about the value of her crystals, but she always wins. If she doesn't, it's fine. She doesn't have to agree with the terms just because the other is right. Most would probably be shocked to see her double sided personality, as she tends to keep her buisness life and her personal life seperate. xxx◘ How was she treated by her parents? She is a 1st gen, no parents. xxx◘ What is her mindset within the Tribe? She sees all her light tribe companions as friends and allies on one hand. Instead of getting upset, she decides that she likes their spunk and attitude, so they become friends. She could wander a little too far into the forest and end up lost. She will look for someone who stays within the city and has a firey spirit. Someone who will be able to tell her when she is doing something wrong an won't back down when the fire rises in herself. xxx◘ What is her strategy for selling her crystals? Archini usually likes to keep her trade secrets secret, but she is willing to divulge a bit of information. In her selling she finds that it's easier to be straight up and to the point. Let them no that there will be no dallying around the prices and she has the last say if anything is going to happen. It's not the best strategy with some, but most respect her for it and find her words usually ring true. xxx◘ How do you judge a crystal? There are two ways to judge how good a crystal will be at holding and releasing light. The first, and the easiest, is the size. The bigger the crystal, the better it holds and releases light. A nice large crystal can be sold for a VERY good price depending on who wants to buy. The second way to judge a crystal would be a bit of a test. A simple test to see how well it does, in fact, hold and release light. This is simply done by observing the crystals at night. The ones that hold and release the most light are the better ones!

►Tell her story ♦♦♦ |[ Prompt ]|
The female is pulled into the world with a tug as her eyes are shot open to reveal the gorgeous scenery around her.
Archini was so excited to see more of the world around her, especially the stones and crystals. They were so many different colors, shapes, and sizes! She really didn't know how anyone could overlook such beauty before their very eyes, but so many did. The Magus Mlinzi seemed to enjoy the descriptions she gave him though! And that gave her happiness. She sometimes longed for Mlinzi to be able to see what she could see... The sparkling and glittering of the colors... She could never truly describe those things to him. No matter how long she thought on how to describe them.
On this particular day, Mlinzi seemed interested in a rather pretty crystal. Archini wasn't sure of the details quite yet, but she was sure he was waiting for her to be by his side, near him and this crystal. As she approached Mlinzi seemed to simply sense her, and the smile plastered on his maw showed it! Archini sat next to Mlinzi, looking at the crystal carefully and waiting for him to speak to her, tell her what it was he wanted.
"It's a pretty crystal, isn't it?" Mlinzi looked at her, his eyes seemingly reading her every thought. For a blind Magus he was certainly perceptive enough to make up for it. Much more so than others give him credit for.
"It's very pretty Mlinzi. What is it for?" She had a questioning tone in her voice as she started to observe the crystal, turning it and inspecting it's every angle. She always loved looking at new crystals, especially larger ones like this.
Mlinzi stood and seemed to watch her for a moment before he answered. "We need it appraised." He stopped short of an explanation. Or at least and explanation that she liked.
"Yes?" There was that questioning tone again, "Was there a reason you needed it valued?" She cleared her throat as she realized it wasn't really her place to ask such things of the Magus.
Mlinzi smiled even wider at the girl. "You'll find out a bit later. For now, simply take the crystal in."
Archini did as she was told and started looking at the crystal again. It seemed to swirl and glow on the inside, a beautiful milky white like Mlinzi himself. She liked this crystal much like her love for her Magus. The crystal felt kind and gentle, truly the embodiment of Mlinzi himself. Though she knew that was impossible as his own crystal sat in his horn as her own did. She took continued to look and took note of the soft flecks of gold that seemed to shimmer in the swirls. This was an interesting crystal indeed. Unlike anything she had seen before. When she decided she was finished, she spoke again.
"This crystal is unlike what I have seen so far. It feels... Gentle... And kind." She screwed her face up a bit. She wasn't sure that was the best way to put it and tried again. "The crystal is a beautiful milky white with soft golden flecks in the swirls and glow within. It's rather large, but weighs almost nothing." She looked at her Magus, "I would honestly consider this crystal priceless, but if one were to sell it... It would be worth more than my collection. Even in the light of the sun itself, it glows." She blushed a bit, sure she seemed strange.
When she looked at Mlinzi again, he was smiling. "You will need this information for later, remember it all." And with that, he walked away, taking the crystal with him.
---
Later that same day she was called upon by Mlinzi. She was sure that it must be about the crystal from earlier. Maybe he had a buyer? She hoped not... She would much rather have it for herself... Forever to keep close.
As she came up to him, she saw another B'alam standing near him. She didn't like the look of him... He seemed... Shady? Yeah, that was the word for it. Archini looked at Mlinzi as she came close. He had a big smile plastered on his face, as usual. She took in her surroundings for a moment while she waited for him to explain why she was here. Looking in front of the two males, she saw it. The beautiful crystal from earlier. Though it seemed... Different? She shook her head as Mlinzi started to explain.
"This gentleman says that he has acquired a rare form of crystal." He paused for a moment, "And I am in a position to buy it from him. With your advice, of course." There was that smile again. He seemed so laid back sometimes. "I brought you here to appraise the crystal that he's brought today."
Archini nodded silently and slowly at her Magus. If it was an opinion on crystals he wanted, he certainly came to the right place! Though as she looked at the other B'alam, he seemed nervous. Like he wasn't expecting the Magus to have someone else with him. Though she was sure that Mlinzi had told his mate his plans to buy a rare crystal.
"I would be happy to look it over for you Magus," She bowed lightly as she went to work.
Looking the crystal over, she sensed a slight familiarity. Though not much. It resembled the crystal she had looked at earlier, but it didn't have the same feel to it. It was the same size as the other, though the color wasn't as clear. It didn't have the same dull flecks of gold either. As she lifted it, the other B'alam got visibly more nervous. Though she wasn't 100% sure he had a reason to... Yet. As she felt the weight, it was heavy. Not even close to what the crystal earlier felt like. She looked closer still, seeing something strange. She reached over and scraped at it a bit... Something came off in little flakes, showing the crystal to be fake!
She huffed and looked up at Mlinzi fiercely. "This seller was trying to fool you Magus! This crystal is a fake!" She snarled at the fool of a B'alam who would try such a thing, but Mlinzi just smiled at her. He knew he could trust her judgement and she came through for her Magus! She felt pleased with herself, but left any further speaking up to Mlinzi himself.

►About the B'alam ♦♦♦ xxx◘ What's his name? Amrit Pritap xxxxxx→ Meaning? Immortal Dignity in Hindi with Sanskrit influences xxx◘ Personality || A steadfast, stoic, this B'alam is serious and does not back down from many challenges. The only things he will never sacrifice are his legacy (both personal and professional, as the two are intertwined), his sight, and the good name of those he holds dear. He's trust worthy, determined, and rather intelligent. This intellect of his allows him to perform the duties of his position with ease, and adapt to the fire tribe culture when he is there. Sometimes there is an aristocratic air about him and the way he holds himself; he does not believe he has any inferiors, instead Amrit simply aims to conduct his business with dignity as a representative of the Light Tribe. xxx◘ How was he treated by his parents? 1st Gen. have no parents xxx◘ What is his mindset within the Tribe? Right now the Tribe is malleable in the respect that it can be molded, with the potential for greatness. Every little indent is like a pillar for another B'alam to grow off of, better make his a good one. He loves the opportunities / possibilities that comes with it! xxx◘ What kind of plots would you like for his? Fire Education: I could see him going up to a Fire Male that looks like a crafter and says quite a few of the right things to get this male angry. Thankfully someone will come to his rescue and begin his education on the Fire Culture. This would cement a tight bond with whomever the other character is that jumps in. Traveling Woes: Since he's going to be commuting back and forth quite a bit, he'll be sure to run into other B'alam. Perhaps in trouble, injured, sick, maliciously intended, or whatever the case may be! Lots of RP/plot opportunity here. In The Lands of Fire or Light: The quality and intentions of interactions would verry between the tribes, but as he'll be spending good amounts of time in each, I'd like to explore how they differ. Fire Tribe would mostly be with his Nantlil and merchants or crafters; Light tribe would be with the Magi, bringing information the to The Abbot, filling special orders with the The Crystal Specialist, and whomever else he runs across while collecting scales. I could go on.. xxx◘ What will he look for in a soul-mate? Fire Tribeswoman that can get him into audiences that may not want to give him a fair price, and out of sticky situations if need be. As importantly, he will need someone that can thrive in both of their cultures, as he aims to do the same. xxx◘ What does Amrit do with the goods he gets in return for the scales? Since most of it tends to be made materials, he keeps what he likes and either donates or sells the rest on a first come, first serve basis. This is not particularly the highlight of the operation for him. Ideally, this would be something his partner, or soul mate handles. xxx◘ Since he travels so much, he must stop and brief The Abbot, what does he think about that? Amrit is under the assumption that The Abbot is just a crack pot religion slinger. He does not go so far as to hold distain for the coveted B'alam, it's simply amusing for him. When he goes to see The Abbot, he goes in with a light heart, ready for some laughs. No matter who else sees it, Amrit believes he is one of the funnier B'alam he's met.

►Tell his story ♦♦♦ |[ Prompt ]|
He has just woken up, he is as ignorant as a newborn infant. He has instincts, thoughts, dreams, and curiosities. He is a complete being, a sharp mind in the body of an adult.
Amrit was mildly overwhelmed by the introduction Mlinzi gave him to the tribe, the more he concentrated, the less of it he seemed to pick up. Like anything, this culture and lifestyle would come to him with practice. Graciously there was something that was a wonderful distraction for the yellow backridge-less B'alam, the more he seemed to focus and study on it, the better he understood the rest. It was as if the scale falling from the mulching Magus was a metaphor all on its own for the way of life and the Tribe itself. Every little scale played an important role of the whole, even when it falls from the rest, it still sings the Light Tribe song of illumination.
Each movement the older B'alam made caused a unique reaction to the singular scale. The more he moved, the more the scale wanted to stray. In more than this particular spot, there seemed to be hair growing in odd directions beneath the scales that seemed to be pushing it up, Amrit noticed. It was as if there was another new scale getting ready to take the current ones place. Could it be possible that with a little more time, this would not be the only scale that fell from the white B'alam? Was it like a coat that peeled off one at a time, or in bunches? These questions filled his head as he observed the evolution of the scale's demise over the course of the interaction. Once it fell, the yellow B'alam was both scared, saddened and over joyed. The question the Magus asked him nearly iced over his blood in it's tracks. Could the white one also read minds? This, he would surely ponder at a later time. For now, this scale seemed to partially belong to him, as it chose him. So he levitated it up to his eye line to get a closer look at it, hopefully to discover how it was hanging on at all.
"I would first study it," He said with slight hesitance as he looked at it, "then perhaps gather some more and perhaps take it to another tribe that does not have so much light. I've noticed some impressive pieces of work coming out of the Fire Tribe, I wonder how they would re-purpose these magnificent scales."
Amrit was mesmerized, he was speaking as if it were an audition for a particular role in a play. In fear that he had just forgotten his place, or overstepped his boundaries by speaking of reaching beyond their boundaries, he looked up to Mlinzi.
"With your permission, of course."

Rohan (for the boys) and Rohana (for the ladies) xxx◘ Why do the Light & Dark tribes share such a close bond? The Arch Magi of the dark tribe is mated to a light tribe lady. xxx◘ One thing the Light Tribe fears is? The dark- they can't see in it. xxx◘ What do the Light B'alam ask of the Wind Tribe when they come for their crops and resources? Often times a good story or information about the outside world.
◘═══════◘
►About the B'alam ♦♦♦ xxx◘ What's his name? Mizar xxxxxx→ Meaning? One of the stars in the Big Dipper xxx◘ Personality || Mizar has a gentle way about him. His voice is quiet, barely above a whisper, but it has a soothing quality to it much like the chiming of a bell. He has a poetic outlook on life and often times he spends hours simply observing the world around him and attempting to understand it. He's fascinated by the patterns on leaves, the gentle way a butterfly drifts on a breeze, and the intricate weaving of a spider. He believes that everything is connected in some way and lives to find this connection. In everything he believes he's learning to understand the voice of the Grand Weaver himself. It's in the way the wind blows through the grass, the singing of the morning birds, and the gentle silence of the twilight hours. The language of the Weaver is written all around. xxx◘ How was he treated by his parents? He has none! He's a newly woven. xxx◘ What is his mindset within the Tribe? He understands that his role is a heavy one but he carries it gracefully enough. As a judge of sorts, he spends a lot of time observing the daily activities of the others within his tribe so he can better understand little things such as motivation, intentions, and social connections. When he's not among the tribe or meditating out in the field, he's checking in on the Master Cleric, greedy for any healing secrets she may be willing to offer him or badgering the Magus with his most recent observations. xxx◘ What kind of plots would you like for him? - Interaction with the Magus! I would love for him to be seen as something of an endearing eccentric sort. A wise friend and counselor but a bit of an odd one. - Interaction with the Master Cleric. He sees their roles as equally important- a healer of the body and a healer of the spirit. - Plenty of students! He's eager to eventually build a small abbey for those who wish to hear the voice of the Weaver. - Cubs to adopt? Newly-woven rogue cubs will always be welcome under Mizar. He'll have a soft spot for cubs. - Eventually I would like him to find a lady. He'll be a bit of a workaholic so he'll often drive himself to exhaustion, perhaps developing something akin to insomnia. He'll need someone to remind him to eat, force him to lay down now and then, and give him some down-to-earth conversation. - I'd like him to catch wind of Morning Star's cult and attempt to persuade the magus to allow him to establish a faction to respond to the threat. xxx◘ What will he look for in a soul-mate? He'll not actively look sadly. He'll be married to his profession for quite a while.I would like a relationship to kind of creep up on him or beat him over the head. I think it would be more fitting if someone that's more grounded and level-headed provided a foil to him. xxx◘ What does he think about the dark tribe? He thinks they're just another part of the grand tapestry! No better or worse than any other creature, being, or tribe. They have a role to play in everything else. There's a moon for every sun. xxx◘ Is he a pacifist? Actually no! He believes that violence only breeds more violence but a strong defense is essential to preserving peace. Why do B'alam have claws and teeth if not to use them? Like anything, it's know when to use them and how. Self-control is part of who he is. He observes how other creatures defend themselves and attack one another and will slowly attempt to rationalize these observations in self-defense.

►Tell his story ♦♦♦ |[ Prompt ]|
He has just woken up, he is as ignorant as a newborn infant. He has instincts, thoughts, dreams, and curiosities. He is a complete being, a sharp mind in the body of an adult.
"You...were expecting me." Mizar said, his voice hushed and his tone thoughtful.
The conversation had been about small things. The purpose of their scales and the light from their horns. It was technical stuff but it echoed in the background of his own thoughts. When they had first met, the Magus Mlinzi had said he had expected him. In the weeks to follow he had never once explained how he came to expect him. At first, he didn't question it. He questioned nothing in the first days of waking. He rarely spoke, rarely acted on his own, and thought only of what he had heard. Slowly, however, he began to make his own observations. His own thoughts. It was as if a small voice from within began to point things out that his mentor was neglecting. When they passed through the wood learning about the crystal bark, his mind would marvel at the little patterns that the bark made. There were tiny veins in the leaves, a sound that the wind made that was slightly different from the sound it made in the grass. He often stopped during their walks to stare at something, to listen to something, or to touch something he found interesting.
The magus glanced his way and raised a thick brow. His train of thought effectively ran head first into a wall. Once more his pupil was staring off, his eyes distant but thoughtful. "What was that?"
"You said you were expecting me." Mizar repeated. He smiled and looked his way. "A strange thing to say. I've tried- but I've not been able to expect a single thing, least of all a weaving of our sort."
"I was." The magus affirmed with a nod.
"How could that be?" Mizar turned away and reached out to turn a blade of grass over. The under-side was less glossy than the top, and it seemed to be a lighter color. Why? The dark side faced the light while the lighter side faced the ground. The shining side faced the sun, the dull side faced the shadows.... dark turned to the light, light turned to the dark.
"Sometimes... you get a feeling. A tugging.A drawing I suppose."The magus explained. He was quite used to his pupil losing himself to his own musings.
"A voice." The green male smiled a little more. "A whisper?"
"Not exactly. It's a little more subtle."
"Less than a whisper..." The male turned the blade of grass right-side and glanced over to a small insect that crept up the blade of a nearby stem, its tiny wings catching the sunlight. It was the way their scales shone...but it had veins like that of a leaf. The insect flew on wings like scales with leaf-shapes within them. Like the earth.Like the wind.Like the light.
"Less than a whisper?"
"It has no voice, but it speaks. It has no form, but it's powerful." Mizar reached for the insect but the creature launched away the moment his shadow fell over it. Light..that feared the shadows.
The magus nodded slowly, but kept his comments to himself.
Mizar continued. "A still, small voice with no words but all the meaning of the world. It tells you what to expect- it must be the same thing that's explaining the little things to me. The things you leave out."
"I-"
"It's not your fault." Mizar chuckled. "Perhaps I'm just a better listener."

►About the B'alam ♦♦♦ xxx◘ What's her name? Sumati Bāgha xxxxxx→ Meaning? Hindi for good-minded tiger (aka intelligent tiger) xxx◘ Personality || When you look at the female tiger-colored light tribes-nantil striding by you, you couldn't help but to notice that she have a friendly smile on her muzzle that reaches up to her soft pink eyes and hear a pleasant greeting from her as she walks by you. This nantil is Sumati Bāgha, a very generous and sweet female that uses her unique ability of gaining wisdom and strategy to help the light tribe to thrive and blossom into what they are destined to be. Soft-spoken, Sumati is usually not noticed when she is in the room because she prefers to keep her eyes and ears open for any new pertinent information that she could convey to the pair of magus or store it aside for various different reasons. This nantil is not an impulsive type and will think for a while before she acts upon her thoughts or say something to anyone because she wants to make sure that every word she says will be able to help whomever she's speaking to. violence, blood and the malice...Sumati Bāgha barely could tolerate those things and will try to use her words to get herself or others out of that situation quickly. The light tribe is her life, her pillars of strength and she's really loyal to them to her very last breath.
xxx◘ What was her life like before Mlinzi stumbled upon her? She didn't have a life before Mlinzi stumbled upon her. She is newly woven into the life. xxx◘ What is her mindset within the Tribe? Capital Dweller. She strongly believes that she needs to stay near either or both magus just in case they needs her. There are a lot of traffic happening in Capital so its perfect place for her to glean information and learn more about various different things along with b'alam watching.
xxx◘ What kind of plots would you like for her? First Experience of War or Battle: This will be a huge challenge for Sumati due to her aversion to violence, blood and malice. The magus will need her advice, suggestions and whatnot so she will have to be forced to confront those deep-seated aversion to provide perfect advice/strategy so the light tribe could win the battle/war
One Mistake could have huge costs: Sumati's job is to be an high adviser to the magus but she's just a regular b'alam with her own flaws. I would like to see a situation where she gives one of the magus a wrong advice or strategy and have it blow up in her face (perhaps literally?). It will force her to take a deep look at herself and figure out why that mistake was wrong then fix it.
xxx◘ What will she look for in a soul-mate? Sumati's ideal mate will be a generous and easy going tahtll with same core values as her (loyalty, honor, honesty and family). He will be an intelligent male who will be her partner in everything, perhaps even as adviser's assistant as well because she will need someone to keep her information updated and adding more new tidbit of information or strategy that she could use in future circumstances. At same time, she needs someone who will challenge her words and give her some excitement so things won't get too stagnant in her daily life.
xxx◘ Given Mlinzi's inability to see, how would she go about explaining a very sight necessary strategy to the Magus? Sumati is a very resourceful and 'think out of box' kind of female, she will develop this room where the table in middle will be a map of the entire kingdom along with another table charting a map of Light Tribe lands. However, there is something different about those maps, the lines and the texture are upraised so it’s very easy for Mlinizi to run his paw across those ridges and textures while being able to tell what he is 'seeing' along with small pawns that is designed for each own tribe. She will start explaining to him about the strategy by doing it in steps and guiding his paw to appropriate spots. She will keep her paw on his paw and 'move' the pawn while explaining what she feels that they need to do. She will make sure that the capital have several of those rooms just in case they can't reach to the main one in time. Those rooms will have those tables along with things that she could use to show him what she's talking about. (Think of braille) When they aren't near those rooms or tables, she will be using her tips of paws or tail on Mlinzi's side, 'drawing' out what she is seeing in her head for Mlinzi to see as well while talking out loud to explain more about the plans or whatnot.
xxx◘ Given that she is the Magi Adviser, what do you think would be the most difficult issue for her to resolve, and how do you think she would react when confronted with it? I think the most difficult issue for her to resolve is the issue of death. At the moment, there are no deaths or wars happening but when wars or killings do happen, the magus will turn to her for help on how to deal with dead bodies and the violence. She will have to get over her deep-seated fear of death and aversion to violence to figure out how to stop the violence and b’alams dying. At first, she would panic internally and fight the instinctive urge to run inside the capital to avoid the sight of death but after some stern talking to herself, she will come back and confront the problem head on. If there is a body that she needs to look at and figure out what to do with it, she would sit with the body and learn everything about that b’alam so she could relay those information to the scribe before she advises the magus to how to deal with the body along with all of the information she have learned about the deceased brother or sister.

►Tell her story ♦♦♦ |[ Prompt ]|
A ball of light appears in middle of the crystal forest and it continually grows until it reveals a vague shape of b'alam nestled right in heart of the light. The light pulses before it reaches to the blinding levels and 'pops' out of existence, leaving a tiger colored nantil lifting her head off her paws, her newly formed pink eyes squints at the seemingly bright light in confusion, not sure what is happening. So many questions pops into her head as the tigress looks around curiously at things that seems so familiar to her like the glimmering sheen on the trees that forms a protective shelter over her head to the feeling of warmth coming from the bright orb in the sky. The dark red orb in her white twisted horn starts to glow as it absorbs in the sunlight while she closes her eyes, basking in the warmth while her black ears swivels around when she hears someone stumbling through the forest with a lot of twigs snapping and leaves crackling under the pressure. Lifting her head up, the tigress's eyes widens when a large white figure stumbles toward her fast enough and tripped over her body with a light 'oomph', the nantil's first reaction was to spin around and inspect the creature to make sure he or she is all right before she figure out what's going on. The sharp metallic smell fills her nose as she stares at a huge scrape marking that goes down from the large male's shoulder to back with red thick liquid oozing out, coating the scrape mark.
As the large white behemoth shifts his head toward the tigress, she recoils briefly in startled manner at the sight of milky white eyes and she instinctively realizes that the male is blind, and in a lot of pain.. judging from his ragged breathing. Tilting her head to side curiously, the female stayed silent as the need to look around for things to help him grows stronger but she is very confused about everything. Why is this male in so much pain? What happened to him? Where am I? Who am I? The questions swirls around inside her head as she instinctively dove into the nearby water body to grab seaweed from bottom of the lake. As her head broke the surface of the lake, she gasps for air while the large male turns his head in her direction with a pleasant smile tinged with pain and she felt this strong sensation inside her chest that could be described as powerful kinship love and protectiveness toward the large male that is laying on the ground few feet away from her. There is no questions in her heart that she is connected to this male in a way that she probably couldn't even explain.
"This should help." The female finds her voice as she moves over to the male, draping the dripping seaweed on top of the scrape wound carefully and her ears pins against her head at the sound of his pained hiss when the salt water hits the wound. "I am so sorry." She murmurs as she presses down on the seaweed to staunch the bleeding. Her ears swivels around as the ethereal voice whispers inside her head and it continues to repeat two words that sounds like.... her identity. ~Sumati Bāgha~ Her eyes flickers as she comes to realization that she finally knows her name and she whispers it to herself. The male leans in little bit to hear what she was whispering and he smiles at her but it didn't reach up to his milky eyes. "What are you whispering, my dear?" He gently says and the female stares at him with startled look, not realizing that she was making noises. "I am so sorry I am disturbing you.. I ju.." The blush graces her cheeks as she presses her paws more against the seaweed. "I found my name. Its Sumati Bāgha” She says with wondering tone. The male chuckles as his warm smile becomes bigger before he nods little bit. “It’s my pleasure meeting you. I am Mlizini. Do you really have to use salt?” He inquires as he fidgets in discomfort because the salt is starting to cause his wound to sting little more than usual.
"Salt is a cure to everything from our tears to oceans." Sumati gently murmurs to the male, feeling like she had to explain the purpose behind the seaweed being pressed down on scrape wound. Staring at her orange paws pressed against the dark green seaweed on white background tinged with pink, Sumati Bāgha closes her eyes briefly while the voices whispers inside her head along with wisps of advice flickering from one spot of brain to other. Feeling the texture of seaweed going from silky to pasty, indicating that it’s stuck to the white behemoth's wound, the nantil slowly takes her paws off while tapping his shoulder to get his attention. The nantil could sense that the tahtll she's interacting with is a very important being (she will discover later on that every light tribe members are very important and dear to her) and she wants to bring him back home without any more injuries added to his body. Mlizni is impressed with how calm this newly woven nantil is handling this along with having pearl of wisdom tossed into the mix so he decided to guide her back to the place where his partner would be waiting for him to return from the mini mission he went on instead of guiding her back to the tribe lands and assign someone to help her get acclimated to her new home.
----
On the journey back to her new home, Mlinzi was more than happy to answer all of the tigress’ questions about her identity as a light tribes-nantil, light tribe’s culture and various different questions. The magus noticed that the nantil is more primarily focused on political and cultural questions instead of superficial questions that he typically fields from the newly woven b’alams and he smiles to himself, secretly pleased about his new discovery but that smile remained when he sensed the tension when they reached the spot where another nantil is waiting. Sumtai looks at the tahtll that calls himself Mlizni, a magus of the light tribe where she belongs to and she smiles to herself, feeling the sense of wonder fill her body. Feeling quite blessed that she belongs to a very rich culture with a huge strong family that are connected to each other in so many different ways.
As they approaches the place, she noticed a very upset nantil comes flying out under the wings where she obviously was waiting and started screaming at Mlizni. “Where have you been?! You know you aren’t supposed to wander, WE WORRY ABOUT YOU!” The nantil screamed at Mlizni whom just stood there with a small smile on his face and dead expression, it seems to Sumati like he’s used to this kind of reaction from this furious nantil. The tigress shifts her weight as she felt like it’s her duty to soothe the tension and resolve this situation and she smiles at the furious nantil, waiting patiently for the female to visibly catch a breath before she smoothly interjects with an introduction and an apology. “I am Sumati Bāgha. I am afraid that Mlizni got himself in a little situation before he found me.” She gently says as she smiles at the male, knowing that he probably could sense that she’s smiling at him. “He wa-“ She gets interrupted by the furious female.
“Mlinzi is BLIND. He can’t see anything so how can he go wandering around and get himself injured or worse, KILLED?!” Sri screeches at the tigress, getting more infuriated that the male decided to go wandering around and got himself injured. Thankfully it wasn’t a severe injury but it could have been that way if he wasn’t careful! The female paces back and forth in front of Mlizni and the newly woven female, too freaked out to recognize that the female is new to this world. She wouldn’t know what she would do if something serious happened to her partner. Mlizni shifts his weight before he sits down on his hunches, listening to both females intently and is interested in what the female that calls herself Sumati would do in this situation. The female rounds onto Sumati with a pissed look in her eyes as she was going to launch into this long winded rant about Mlinzi being too important for them to risk him walking around due to his blindness and so on forth when the look of other female gave her pause. The new female looked a bit nervous but mostly she looked … calm and thoughtful which threw her off because she’s used to apologies and cowering when she is in one of her fits.
Black ears twitches as they flattens against her skull in a contrite manner briefly before the female nods, understanding why another female are so angry at Mlinzi for heading out, wandering around when he couldn't see anything. Closing her eyes, Sumati mentally reaches to that place where she have discovered her personal peace and wisdom and that’s where she stayed there for few seconds. In that moment, she realized that Mlinzi might be blind but he’s not truly blind, he’s still able to see in some manners. Sumati noticed that when she closes her eyes, her other senses like hearing, feeling, and smelling heightened like its compensating for the loss of sight and her eyes flew open with a smile on her face. “This is a crazy but...” She holds her paw up to the furious yet confused female. “Could you please sit down and close your eyes for few minutes? Mlinzi might not be able to see with his eyes but he’s able see with his other senses like hearing, smelling and feeling.” The female smiles at Sri before she looks at Mlinzi while she starts talking once again in earnest- “When one sense is being taken away, other...” She quickly mentally takes inventory of senses she have by inhaling in the air, brushing the soil under her paw, listening to other nantil’s angry breathing along with tasting the crisp fresh air and she smiles. “… Four senses will improve to compensate for a loss of one sense. “ Sumati gets up and walks over to Sri, noting that she’s little bit bigger than her and she have that same ‘magus’ aura around her like Mlinzi does but she refuses to let that stop her. “Please… do this experiment for me.” She looks at Sri before she sits down on her hunches once again in front of Sri and closes her eyes to demonstrate that she will do it with him. As her mind registers that the sight is gone, the other four senses have enhanced themselves like she have predicted and every little thing she smelled, heard, tasted and felt are noticeably more detailed than when she have her sight. A quickening breath in front of her indicates that other female is ‘seeing’ what Mlinzi have been seeing for a very long time and she grins widely, knowing that the tension is finally disappearing.
Sri eyes Sumati doubtfully, she glances over at Mlinzi whom gave her a nod, almost like he’s telling her to try it and she warily settles down on her hunches, closing her eyes for few minutes wondering if the new nantil is telling truth or not. The sound of other b’alams talking a good distance away sounds so close to her, Sri’s ears swiveled around wildly as she struggles not to open her eyes because now she could feel the grass under her paws along with slight vibrations from other b’alams’ walking or the shift in the earth under pressure. The vivid fresh and crisp smell of air after the rain assaulted her nose and she inhaled deeply before she swatted at Mlinzi when she hears him chuckle in amusement at her reactions to the sensations that she’s experiencing. After a long moment of being in silence and darkness, Sri opens her eyes and stares at the new nantil with newly-found respect. “What is your name again, nantil?” Sri inquires as she moves toward Mlinzi. “I am sorry. I never realized that you could ‘see’ with other senses that I have forgotten about that could be useful.” She frowns as she headbutts Mlinizi, feeling bad that they have been telling him that he couldn't do all of those things just because he couldn't see with his eyes.
“Sumati Bāgha.” The tigress says with a gentle smile as she watches the female apologize to the male. “Every moment is a learning opportunity. Mlinzi could show us how to see the world he is seeing right now with all of his remaining senses and we could show him the world we see.” She softly says as she lifts her chin up when both of the magus approaches her. “When you cage a bird, it won’t sing for you…” She commented as she looks from Sri to Mlinzi and she smiles gently. “But if you set a bird free, it will sing its heart out for you. With your permission, madam magus… I would like to learn everything about this culture along with how to deal with situations like Mlinzi’s so we all could be educated and work very well together.”
Sri stares at the tigress for few heartbeats, deeply impressed with how this female have handled this situation with grace and composed attitude. “I am Usha'Sri but you can call me Sri for short. I ...” She smiles little bit as she glances at Mlinzi whom continued to sit there with a small (now) amused smile on his face. “I would like to apologize for my behavior. I seem to forget that Mlinzi is capable of taking care of himself sometimes. I- “ She suddenly falls silent as she looks thoughtful while Mlinzi is using their personal connection to tell her of the observations he have made about Sumati- the tigress’ keen interest in culture, politics, society takes priority over superficial things and she is also very interested in current events. “I think we found our head adviser, Sri. Don’t you think so too?” Mlinzi’s voice carries across the personal connection between two magus as Sri stares at Sumati thoughtfully when the tigress looks around at the room they are in with interest before meeting Sri’s intent gaze with a warm yet curious gaze of her own and a small serene smile on her muzzle.

"Despair" or 'Desperate" It's french. xxx◘ Personality || Quite and meek, most of the time you wouldn't notice him sitting next to you. Vary Polite he -hates- conflict and would do anything to avoid it. He is more comfortable with being a shadow and would have a peaceful existence; also would be perfectly content if no one noticed him. Passive, he is a wonderful friend, loyal and loves to make other Balam feel comfortable and happy. Self doubting, he is only confident in the scales he finds and what he could do with them. xxx◘ How was he treated by his parents? Woven without parents. Gen 1 xxx◘ What is his mindset within the Tribe? He is the scale collector, he realize his duty-nay, gift is a strong paw hold in the economic future for the tribe. Which, gives him the strength and will to meet with the 'intimidating' fire kin. He knows the Clan trust him for trade, and with his strong sense of loyalty in-spite his personality stands up to make sure such a thing is successful. He is at heart a Capital Dweller, but ventures out as a Wanderer for trade for his found scales. xxx◘ What kind of plots would you like for his? -I would like him to spend time with the Magus, Mlinzi. Because of Despereaux's cub-like spirit really looks up to the Tahtill as a father figure. -I would also like to see him become more bold and confident but still be able to keep his mild nature. -His Trade expanded it would be cool to work something out with the wind kin and fire tribe for trade of wears xxx◘ What will he look for in a soul-mate? He Doesn't even know! He is too shy, but what Dreamer knows of him, he would need someone that had a strong spirit. One that would encourage him, and not be 'put off' by his meek and almost skittish nature. However, someone balanced enough to know not to speak for him, but encourage him to his own words and expression. xxx◘ So by now we all know that a Light tribe's scales molt. But this boy knows just how to tell when that's about to happen! Not in the obvious ways either! What are some of his tip offs? -During warmer weather, the scales have a easier time 'molting' off of their owners. The scale's themselves become softer, and it why it is easier to craft them on to things with fire. -When a Light Kin is more 'stressed' or 'worried', the scales tend to fall off of the Balam easier. -When a Light Balam starts to want to eat more then normal, it's a good sign that they are going to need extra energy to replace the scales. -Obvious signs are the dulling in color on the scales while attached to the pelt, they scale's retain their shine faintly, but the color seems to 'soften' and 'lessen' from the balam's natural color. Much like how a snake skin lightens when it about to shed. See Drawing: - The time when a cub becomes an adult, they shed their cub scales for their adult one's, (these scales are not as highly valued, and are used more as decoration rather then armor.) -Another obvious way to tell if a Light Balam is about to lose their scales, is they start to curl up from the scale membrane, causing it to 'feather' up wards a little bit. See Drawing:
xxx◘ Particular scales are of a higher value than others, to those who require them. But this male has a judgement scale all his own. Which scale does he most value, and why is it his highest priority? The Cub Scales: These scales do not hold as much value as they are still 'young', and are not as nearly as strong or as durable as Adult scales. They are genuinely more use for decoration or play and cheep currency.
Adult Scales: These Scale's being more mature are stronger and more durable, and are used for a multiple of uses. That include: Armor, expensive decoration, light reflecting, and further more uses that are thought up.
Magus Scales: Should anyone be so lucky to have such a thing is considered priceless and are the strongest of the scales as well as the most rare. Despereaux only has even a few, that he has collect from the Magus. (The first one that was given to him, he keeps close and is a priceless token-that he wouldn't trade for the world.)
*all scales have a value to them, small or large, broken or whole, damaged or untouched. They can be used towards something.

►Tell his story ♦♦♦ |[ Prompt ]|
He has just woken up, he is as ignorant as a newborn infant. He has instincts, thoughts, dreams, and curiosities. He is a complete being, a sharp mind in the body of an adult.
Upon waking, Despereaux followed Mlinzi around like a sight-seeing newcarved cub as much as he was allowed. Quite he did his best not to bother him and his teachings of others, and when asked to leave he would reluctantly do so. Perhaps this is what honed his skills in being so quite to not bother anyone. Always observant, Desi found that he rather listen and watch before saying anything. This skill, helped him in noticing things that other's didn't seem to notice.
Such a skill, or rather quite gift caused him to catch the sight of a single scale that hung off his leader's scale membrane. Curiously the Tahtil turned his head and looked subtly. The glimmering scale, caught his fancy quickly and almost mesmerized him. He wanted to have it, however it seemed odd to just to pluck it.
It was shinny....and pretty, he must have it....
So he waited and waited. For that fateful moment, when to his delightful joy it -finally- unclaimed from Mlinzi's pelt.
AT LAST!
To Desi surprise, just as his tail shifted to seemingly and unknowingly take the scale; Mlinzi's milky gaze caught his own wide sight, words left his Magus just as if he had seen and knew Desi's plot.
'The Scale has Chosen you, where do you choose to take it next'?
Wait. The Scale -chose- him. Well, it had to be true because his magus told him so. Mlinzi had trusted him and believed in him in all this time, since he had woken! For the first time Despereaux felt he had found something that held more meaning then the priceless fallen scale: Purpose.
"To the ends of the Earth, if you would have me to do so Senpai." Left Despereaux softly and in much admiration. He felt he could do so much more with all the scales he could collect. Something told the Balam that their was purpose in such a thing as small as a scale, if there was purpose even found in he likes of him.

►About the B'alam ♦♦♦ xxx◘ What's her name? Rahata xxxxxx→ Meaning? Succor xxx◘ Personality || Sweet, swift, organized. Rahata has a smile for everyone, no matter how busy she is—and she does get very busy. She keeps her medicinal supplies in a hollow beneath the root of the great tree, with each ingredient meticulously organized. She cannot stand a mess or sloppiness of any sort. Rahata has an excellent memory, not only for locations, routes, and remedies, but also for the cubs of the tribe. She hates losing her temper, and prefers walking away from an aggravating situation. In fact, if she walks away from a conversation or asks to be left alone, chances are she’s struggling with her temper and needs time to cool off. xxx◘ How was she treated by her parents? What parents? xxx◘ What is her mindset within the Tribe? City Dweller. Rahata loves her tribe and her patients especially, with an extra soft spot for the cubs. She respects the Abbot and often goes to him asking for advice, and, more specifically, asking him for any news he’s heard of events yet to come, so that she can start gathering supplies and making more bandages. xxx◘ What kind of plots would you like for her? Learning how to read and write from a member of Water Tribe! At the moment, she just memorizes everything by rote and rhyme. When she discovers writing, she’s going to go in a recording bonanza. xxx◘ What will she look for in a soul-mate? Someone wise, someone gentle. xxx◘ Having spent so much time out on her own, the cleric had to find ways to care for herself at first. Which included lots of trial and error, what first gave her the idea that plants could be used for something more than just sustenance? She first got the idea when she herself was injured. She felt a burning sensation at the wound, and remembering how cool plants feel to the touch, she slathered a bunch on her wound. To her surprise, the wound healed within a few days. Ever since then, she has been constantly experimenting. xxx◘ This gal isn't just a cleric, she's the MASTER cleric. Which means she's got some sweet concoctions under her belt! Give us one of her recipes, and don't forget the secret ingredient!I’m actually not quite sure what you’re asking for here—a food recipe, or instructions for healing a wound? So I’ve decided to write up both! The wound healing comes from the question in the character description: What type of recipe would she make to heal an assumed broken paw, that was really just a cub fibbing. * It is your choice whether she knows the cub is a fibber.
Injured paws are common injuries for active cubs. Rahata’s primary concerns are threefold: first, she needs to set the bones for the cub’s broken paws, then she needs to prevent infection of the wound (since broken paws are often accompanied by scratches), and finally she needs to prevent further injury of the paw. Oh, and of course she needs to determine if the paw is actually broken. If she determines that it is not, she will smile and gently tell the cub that it’s not broken—good news! You can continue to play today! But if you really do break it someday, just let me know, okay? You can always come to me if you’re hurt, no matter what. Should it be injured in some other way—sprained or strained or suchlike—she will wrap a poultice of herbs around the paw and instruct the cub to come back the next day to get it changed—and not to lose it, of course. In the case of an actual break, she would give the cub something sweet or tasty to eat, such as a stick slathered with honey, so that the cub would be distracted by the painful bonesetting. Once the bones have been set, a poultice of asthisamharaka, ginger, and ground hot peppers (for the capsaicin) is tied to the bone with a bandage, as well as sticks to hold it in place. She will check up on the cub every day to make sure that s/he is alright, to change the poultice, and to monitor the healing process.
That’s the easy part. The hard part is keeping the cub occupied and off of their healing paw. Cooking is a bit of a hobby for Rahata, so she asks the cub to help her make something with her—a stew, perhaps, or maybe something sweet. She asks him/her to help her collaborate on the new recipe, and when it is done, she records it and names the dish after the cub. If Rahata is making a recipe of her own, you can bet that it will be spicy—this gal loves her some chili peppers.

►Tell her story ♦♦♦ |[ Prompt ]|
Unlike nearly every B'alam in the Light Tribe, the Master Cleric has been on her own for some time since her awakening. She has had some time to learn ways in which to heal and care for herself in this time. The reasoning for her delayed introduction to the pride would be Mlinzi's run in with The Magi Advisor.
----
A rustling in the bushes startled the female awake and she quickly hopped to her feet.
Lowering herself to his level she examined his eyes ... what an interesting color.... and yet he didn't seem to notice her in the slightest, despite her close proximity.
It seemed deep, and her claws weren't exactly the cleanest things in the world...
She needed to keep her claws cleaner in the future, but she’d spent the morning digging up roots in the forest, and, well, soil was soil, so…Right. First, clean the wound. It needed to be clean water—from the stream that ran not far from here, specifically from the center where the water was the swiftest. There was no danger to that, not really. Soak moss in the cold, clear water at the center of the stream, rub it on his paw, the wound would be cleaned out. Of the dirt, of course, but she’d come to the conclusion that there was more than just dirt involved. Honey, then—she had an extra comb in her den, and that stuff lasted forever. Dab raw honey on the wound, wrap it with reeds, and deliver to the stranger an admonishment to go easy on his injured limb. Oh, and apologize. Very important, that, and a shame she hadn’t thought of it earlier. “I’m sorry. You startled me, but that’s not an excuse worth making. Please follow me.”
Remembering belatedly his lack of sight, she reached out her tail to brush against his face. “Just follow my tail, I’ll lead the way.” At the river bank she selected her moss and began the task of cleaning out the wound. Center stream water. The banks of the river? Too much algae, too many fish. She didn’t trust the water at the edge, only the stuff in the middle. She’d noticed that it worked better, too—what, you thought she’d use a stranger as a test subject? No, totally rude. And unnecessary, it wasn’t as if Rahata had been woven with any sort of spectacular grace. She’d had plenty of time to get scratched up and suchlike. Yes, she knew something about healing. Oo, now, yes, honey. When she spread the raw, sweet substance on the wound, her patient lowered his head to lick it up. Mindful of her claws, she patted him gently on the cheek. “That’s not for your tongue. That’s for your paw. Honey seals off the body. It creates a barrier through which no evil can penetrate.” She pulled out a reed bandage and began the task of wrapping the paw.
“You know your stuff,” the male murmured. “How would you like to teach us?”
Rahata glanced up at his milky eyes. “Us? Who is us?”
“We are Light Tribe. My mate and I live at the tree with other B’alam. I’m afraid none of us have quite your level of expertise. That’s why I was seeking you out. This, ah…wasn’t my only injury as of late.”
Rahata peered at his paw. Under the white fur she could now see bruising. Internally she berated herself for not having seen it. “That could get inflamed,” she said. “You really should be more careful with yourself.”
He chuckled. “Usha’Sri says the same thing. But I’m not the only one who could do with some help.”
“How many? In your tribe.” When the larger B’alam answered, she frowned. So many? And none of them had figured this out like she had? Alright, so it seemed that her discoveries were a more unique talent than she had previously imagined. “I’ve learned a lot living alone. But what’s the point of learning so much if you can’t share what you’ve got? Lead the way, my friend. I will teach your tribe everything I’ve learned.” But she’d also need to get supplies from her den—ginger, the honeycombs, the peppers…There was so much to do, it was time to get started!
