Richard: *tail flickers, waiting outside the locker room with a wrapped gift in hand*
Astor: -exits the locker room to go to the gym, immediately stopping before even seeing Richard- Why are you here? -frowns though slouches at the compel, eyes narrowed a bit- I'm playing today. 8T -believes Richard is going to take him out of the game again-
Richard: I came here to support you, not to take you away. Calm down. *comes over, studying his hair* Hmm...Your tie is slightly off. *unties hair and slowly combs through it with his fingers* Your jersey could use a washing as well. *eyes*
Astor: -slouches even more at the command, studying skeptically- It's going to get messy anyways. e-e -leans into the touch, still glaring- And it'll just get dirty. u-u It's fine. Stop fussing. -tenses for a moment before gritting out a 'please' under his breath-
Richard: If it gets too messy, I'll stop the game and tidy it for you. Make sure it doesn't get that way, and I won't have to stop the game. *frowns, pausing and yanking on a strand*It's barely decent, but---*grabs his chin and stares* It'll do. *grimaces at Astor's jersey* I'm washing /this/* fingers a shoulder strap* when we get home. *snorts* I'm not fussing. If I was, I wouldn't allow you to go out like this. Go on, go. *nudges*
Astor: -jaw drops- You can't do that! -winces at the yank and grits his teeth as his chin is grabbed, eyes dropping but still glaring- Whatever... -grumbles and tenses at the strap being touched- You are. -snaps before rushing down the hallway quickly to go to the gym-
Richard: *Smirks, patting Astor's cheek* You underestimate the power that I have on this campus. I can practically do what I want, given the proper justification. *leans in, stroking his cheek* I like it when you look at me, Tails. *narrows his eyes* I'm not. I'm just more conscious about my appearance and yours. Something, that you should learn to do. Future successes will depend on it. *watches Astor leave and decides to wander over to his seat is*
Astor: -wrinkles his nose over his shoulder before sticking his tongue out at him and going onto the court-
--Timeskip--
-misses the goal at halftime- Damnit! D< -kicks at the ground and grips his hair in frustration-
Npc player: How the hell did you miss that, klutz?! |8<
Astor: -narrows eyes and rounds on the speaker, throwing a fist- Shut the hell up! D<
Richard: *frowns, tensing as Astor kicks at the ground and abruptly stands up, moving from his seat and towards the other male, nodding towards the coach and referee* Astor. *Glances at him, disappointed, and thumbs the gift in his hand* This, was for you. If you behaved. But---*looks towards the other player, with as much sincerity as he can muster* It seems like you can't even do that right now. I'm sorry that one of our players so /rudely/ hurt you. My condolences. *hands the gift over* I'll see that he's handled. But first---*Pointedly eyes Astor* Apologize. /Now/.
Astor: -opens his mouth to shout more at the player but snaps it shut as his instincts kick in, shoulders slouching and head dipping, though still glowering at the floor- But- -cuts off, biting the inside of his lip in aggravation, wanting to storm off but close proximity preventing it- I'm sorry. -spits out the apology distastefully and unwillingly, glaring at the other player, not at all meaning his words-
Richard: *lips twitch in annoyance, fingers twitching to make a grab at Astor, yet refrains from doing so. Instead, he sidesteps closer to Astor, smiling at the other player* I'm sure he'll have a more /sincere/ *eyes Astor from the side* apology for you later on, once I have a proper talk with him. Now, if you'll excuse me. *places an arm on Astor's shoulder, directing him towards the closest exit*
Astor: -opens his mouth the grit out something else but stops as Richard steps closer, opting to remain quiet, nerves on edge- I'm- -cuts off as he's directed towards the exit, wanting to protest over leaving the game but not daring to do so at the moment- ... -resists the urge to stammer out an apology- where are we going... sir? -remains looking at the ground, anxious over the anger he felt from Richard-
Richard: *narrows his eyes at Astor at the protest, daring him continue and glad that he decided to shut his mouth as soon as a hand was laid on him. Opens the door for Astor, nudging him forward, voice low* Home. Anything that you left in your locker will stay here, until the morning. You can't be trusted here. *clucks his tongue, disapprovingly* You can't even be trusted in the parking lot. *lets out a heavy breath* You need to learn how to control yourself.
Astor: -tucks his chin into his chest, letting go of his irritation in favor of the submission, in order to please- I'm sorry... -fiddles with his gym shorts a bit, glancing over his shoulder at the closing door briefly- I have homework. -considers dragging his feet to gain some distance but remains overwhelmed for the time being- but... he did start it.
Richard: *lips downturn* Now you're sorry? I shouldn't be the one you're saying sorry to, short stuff. It should be that other placer. *softens his tone, rubbing Astor's shoulder* You'lll never be a professional player, not when you attack an opposing player at a mere comment. Restrain yourself; life would be a lot simpler if you rein in your anger. You're lucky that scouts /weren't/ there this time. *hand stills, curling around his shoulder* There is still going to be word of this around school. *stills* How much homework do you have? *eyes* Honestly. Can it be done in the morning? *clenches his jaw* /He/ made the comment. /You/ were the one to punch him. Ignoring him, would have been the best. Which you decided /not/ to do. And you think you're going to be professional with that attitude? When there are going to be fans badmouthing you and your performance left and right?
Astor: -shrugs his shoulders lightly, relaxing at the tone- still... -glances up at richard from beneath his lashes- I do have a rein on my temper. -blatantly lies, looking away in a pout- ...yes it can. I guess. -eyes flicker downward at the scolding, scowling at the ground- they aren't really fans then, are they.... sir. -lets out an irritable noise, trying to drag his feet now since Richard's anger wasn't as pronounced-
Richard: *tightens his hold* Still, what? You didn't hurt me; you /disappoint/ me. *Narrows his eyes* And I have no idea how to make you mature, at this point. *Stares at Astor harshly* No, no you don't. *pinches* Stop arguing with me, Tails. It's getting you /nowhere/. *rubs temple* I feel like I'm dealing with a three year old. e-e *sharply exhales, exiting out of the building and into the parking lot* Good, I'll wake you up early then. You should be able to get plenty of rest when we get home. You won't be able to do much else. *eyes with a bit of contempt* Three year olds don't need access to any technology. Or toys, for that matter. *Clenches his jaw* Arguing /again/, Astor? A fan can call themselves a fan while still criticizing your actions. They don't have to be /your/ fans either. It wouldn't surprise me if you only had one in the stands, out of pure obligation. *snaps his fingers, pushing at Astor* Impudent brat, pick up your feet. I won’t ask again.
Astor: -frowns- I didn't want to... -slouches again at the anger, his own irritation rising up- don't pinch me...sir. -spits out the word unwillingly, letting out a groan at the thought of waking up early- but it's not even that much! And I'm not three! -continues to not meet his eyes- I'll have many. -pouts stubbornly, swaying at the push and glaring but obediently picking up his feet to go faster-
Richard: *squeezes his eyes shut, , mentally attempting to calm down* I know. You don’t mean to but you continue to do so. If you just---/listened/, for once, things would go /so/ much smoother. *frowns down at Astor* For someone who just /decked/ another boy, you sure are a hypocrite. A pinch is the /least/ you deserve. *glares at Astor, clenching his teeth together* I don’t want to hear it Astor. You chose to ruin this evening and act like a child. I had plans tonight. But they’re now out of the question since you decided not to /behave/ like an adult. *eyes wander towards his car, miffed* And to think that I was going to let you skip tomorrow. *Rolls his eyes* Not with that attitude, you won’t. Get in the car. *steps away from Astor in order to open up the door for him, and eyes him warily, unsure whether he will or not* I’ll throw you in, if I have to.
Astor: I try though. -mumbles and runs a hand through his hair, messing it up slightly- I barely hit him. -eyes widen into shock before his expression falls- W-wha- -eyes the car, contemplating for a moment, before ducking his head at Richard's voice and gets into the passenger seat- Alright... -contemplates whether he should properly apologize, as much as his pride protests at the thought-
Richard: *Frowns* You don't try hard enough. Most boys your age know how to restrain themselves at a mere comment. *lips twitch in irritation, wanting to fuss with the strands.* You still /hit/ him, Astor. The mere act is inexcusable behaviour. You're not a heathen; you're better than that. If you weren't, I wouldn't care so much about you. *criticizes Astor* I'm not going to repeat myself. *never takes his eyes off of him, and, as soon as Astor is in the car, rleaxes, shutting the door before going to the other side and getting in himself* Thank you. *Makes sure that the surroundings are clear before leaning into peck Astor on the lips* Why do you have to be so difficult? *backs away in order to tidy Astor's hair* I told you to keep this tidy.
Astor: -shrugs his shoulders again, unsure how to respond without inciting his anger further- you only care because of what we are.. -pouts as the door shuts; slumps into the seat, buckling up- hey- -lets out a surprise noise but doesn't move away, actually lightening up at the gesture and moving closer, slightly disappointed at the lightness- it's hard to keep it neat while I'm focusing on the match.
Richard: *sighs in aggrivation* No. If that were the case, I would only use you for carnal desires. My feelings for you go beyond the----biological means. *frowns, staring at Astor in slight confusion* What /now/, short stuff? *continues fussing with his hair, tying it off as soon as he's satisfied* You should focus on both: the match and your appearance. *cups Astor's face with a hand, staring and pushing up his glasses with his free hand, before nodding curtly to himself* That's good for now. *starts the ignition, pulling out of the parking space before side glancing at Astor, contemplating* Do you think you'll be able to behave during dinner?
Astor: But you refuse to say love. -lets put a huff, remaining still as Richard messed with his hair, quickly growing impatient- the match is more important if I want to go professional. -leans his face heavily into one if Richard's hands, eyes closing as he enjoys the touch, before settling into his seat when Richard releases him- hm? -looks up with mounting excitement- yes, I can!
Richard: Because love is an emotion that people believe in, but it's not a proven state. I'm not going to say I love you when love doesn't exist. But I do care for you, deeply. You're the person that I care for the most. *kisses temple, clenching his jaw* /Both/ are important. Scouts don't look for great unnattractive players. No one wants to see a ruffian on the court. *brushes a stray strand behind Astor's ear before putting his hands on the wheel* You look decent enough for the public. But, you'll need to change your clothes before we go anywhere. *Frowns, starting to drive towards home* Are you positive? You're not going to argue or, heaven forbid, /hurt/ the waiter if they get your drink wrong?
Astor: I think it exists. -looks at Richard with a slight bitter expression- I /love/ you. -still feels slightly complacent over being the most cared about- Hmmm. I think skill wins, overall. -still messes with a strand hesitantly, allowing Richard to brush it back, own hand dropping to his lap- I'll change quickly, then~! -glowers for a moment, sulking- I won't misbehave...

Richard: It doesn't. *hums noncommittally* And who's to say that you'll say that in the future, Astor. *Shakes his head* It's...not right. *exhales heavily* Skill may be beneficial. But attitude and appearance is what people are going to catch onto first. Not your skills. *touches Astor's hand in an affectionate gesture and looks at Astor in displeasure* Not too quickly, you still need to look /nice/. There isn't any real rush. We still have----*eyes the time on the face of the sound system* Two hours, approximately. *smirks* If only I could believe that, short stuff.
Astor: I will. -lifts chin stubbornly, frowning at Richard- I'll always say it. -grumbles in response to the scouting discussion but decides to let it go with a roll of his eyes, though contently settles down when his hand is touched- I have to dress up? Where are we going? -wrinkles nose- You can believe it, because it's true.
Richard: Your stubbornness can be charming, at times. Even thought you don't know what you're talking about. *pats chin affectionately* Someday, you'll realize. *nods curtly* Yes, you will. At least out of your ratty jersey and into something more---acceptable. *smiles softly, irritation having ebbed away.* That's a surprise. I can't let you know everything, can I? *smirk fades* I'll believe it once you prove it, Tails. After your incident today, I don't know how far I can trust you.
Astor: I do know what I'm talking about. -lets out a slight noise of displeasure- You're so cynical. e-e -tilts head to shrug the hand off- Don't patronize me. Acceptable... how? I won't have to wear a tie, will I? -glances at curiously, pulling his legs up onto the seat, leaning closer to Richard- Why can't you tell me? -rolls eyes and lets out a huff, running a hand through his hair, slightly irritated- You never trust me, so what's new? -adjusts, now leaning against the car door and staring out the window in a sulk-
Richard: *Doesn’t take the effort to look Astor in the eye, opting to focus on the road* You’re too young to be that versed in life, boy. No matter how /experienced/ you may think you are. *shrugs halfheartedly* I wouldn’t call myself that. More, practical. *lips twitch, eyes narrowing at the other male* I’m not patronizing you. You need to stop being so…argumentative, Tails. *closes his eyes in exasperation* A tie would be /preferred/ but I suppose you don’t have to wear one. *nudges Astor with the side of his arm* Because I don’t want to ruin the surprise. Unless you don’t want to go. *scrutinizes* The moment I do trust you, you break it. Or did you suddenly forget what /just/ happened at the game?
Astor: How /old/ do I have to be then, d**k? e-e -hiiigghhhllyy annoyed at being called 'boy'- You're cynical. -flashes a glare towards Richard- I'm not being argumenta- -pauses before throwing himself back into the seat, huffing- ... Is the place we're going to somewhere ties are expected? -sits up straight, frowning- Of course I want to go! -sinks back into the seat at the reminder, deciding to just ignore it and not answer- ...
Richard:*hardens his stare, jaw clenched* At the rate you’re going, you won’t reach the maturity, even if you were that age, short stuff. *fingers curl around the wheel* I don’t like it when you call me by that name. You know that. *swings into the driveway a bit rougher than usual, pressing the garage opener harshly* And /you/ are getting on my nerves, brat. You’re far too young to be making a judgment like that. *smacks the wheel impulsively, raising his voice* You are! In fact, you’re doing it right /now/. *swings around and Glowers* You know, you really need to learn when to shut your mouth too, Astor. *seethes, slowly coming into the garage* Yes, it is. And you like quite good in a tie, better than that jersey. *sighs, taking the keys out of the ignition* Just---go inside. Get cleaned up. I’ll be there in a few minutes. e---e
Astor: -remains silent during the duration, not enjoying the deline in personality- But- -jumps at the sound of the wheel being smacked and drops his eyes- Yes sir. -hesitates, staring at Richard's chest, before slowly and awkwardly shifting around, leaning over to rest his chin in Richard's lap, rubbing against his thigh apologetically- I'm sorry... -sucks down his pride to avoid a moody evening-
Richard: *lips twitch in irritation, tight lipped* You're going to be the death of me yet, Astor. *relaxes his stance, arms falling to his sides and stares down at the head in his lap* Sure you are. If you didn't say it so much, I'd actually believe it. *sighs, brushing his hand over Astor's hair, slightly irritated at himself over the lack of control on his temper* Go inside.
Astor:-closes his eyes against the comment, moving his cheek further up his thigh, keeping posture as laxed as possible in that awkward position- I do mean it, sir. -keeps voice soft, smothering the spike of irritation at the doubt, before relaxing at the touch on his hair- thank you. -places a kiss on his thigh before sitting up and opening the car door, getting out- alright. -closes the door, feeling immensely better, before darting to the house door. Pauses, casting an irritated look over his shoulder, before going inside-
Richard:*hums noncommittally, carefully eyeing Astor, a sense of calm attempting to overwhelm him* Right now, I'm sure you are. *fingers the hair at the nape of Astor's neck* Good boy. *Watches him leave, absently rubbing the place where he was kissed* Next time, don't kiss my clothes, Astor. *Slightly thankful that Astor wasn't a woman and didn't wear make up, but still bothered by the fact that his clothes were now a bit "dirty". Yet pushes the thoughts away in favour of watching Astor go inside. As soon as Astor is in, Richard lets out a long breath, relaxes, and after a moment of staring out at the door, goes inside himself*
Fin.
