Moose: Ever since Waridi had become friends with Adri he had come to terms with himself. He was a Nanny-in-training, and after all this time of trying to dissuade himself from the feminine path he felt at home. Though he didn’t officially hold the rank yet, he was on his way to claiming it, and that made him blessed.
As it was he had decided to finally move out of his parents den. The space had been cramped with five cubs and two adults, but now with so many large bodies…Well, he had never been claustrophobic, but Waridi thought he might be now.
He perused around the open dens, looking into the abandoned spaces with a critical eye. Most of those that were open had been left for years and pieces had caved in. They would need a lot of work, but maybe…just maybe one would be for him.
nessiaing: Adri was hanging around the pride's dens. She hadn't really claimed one for herself yet, she felt weird claim a space as her own. She knew that she should though it would be one more step to making this place home. The only den she had ever had before was her father's den. She was an adult now though in her new home it was time.
She looked along the dens, most were taken and she didn't really know about how to go about claiming one as hers. Getting frustrated she sat at the end of a row of dens having poked her head in everyone along the way. This shouldn't be this hard. she thought to herself.
Moose:The lighter lion brushed along a few occupied spaces before circling to a newer area. This side had more lions, and he definitely wouldn’t be without neighbors, but to him it was a little cramped. Maybe he should go back to the older section?
Of course then he spotted Adri and thoughts of ditching the area went with the wind. “Hey Mountain girl.” He approached casually, brushing his rustic mane away from his face. “Finding a spot to sleep shouldn’t be this hard.” Waridi looked around him at all the filled dens, and rolled his eyes. Did they have an easier time at this, or did they just hide their frustration a lot better than he?
“So, which ones yours?”
nessiaing: Adri immdiately perked up when she saw Waridi. "Hey stranger long time no see" really it had only been a couple of days but she was still very excited to see him. She also quite liked that he had come up with a nickname for her. It made her feel special and important to him.
She looked down the row of dens, "None of them is mine, I guess I'm having the same trouble as you. Finding a place to call your own doesn't seem like its a quick or easy job." she sighed
Moose: He had to frown. It was easy for him to take his time looking since he had his parents to fall back on, but he didn’t imagine it was the same for her. Cocking his head back the way he came, Waridi turned to move. “Follow me. I’ve found some fixer upers, but a little dirt is better than sleeping in the rain, huh?”
The young lion bounced around a tight corner, swerved down a little incline towards a few of the dens he’d seen earlier. A few had jumped out at him, but if she wanted his top picks then he’d concede easily. “This one here is a little short, but it goes on forever. And that one, that one’s caved in, but I think if you cleared it out it could be pretty big.”
nessiaing: Adri did her best to keep up with Waridi you could tell he had grown up in the rocky area. Despite Adri's mountain markings she had actually been raised in a forest and found the rocks a little harder to move around on.
She slid up beside him and took a look into the dens that he was describing. "Well despite the cave in this one looks nice, its big. There would be room for a family in here." she said looking around inside a little.
The mention of family brought up the other ideas that had been swirly around in Adri's mind. She had ben theinking a lot about Waridi and more specifically of her and him and what they might become. This den shopping may have brought up the perfect opportunity for Adri to bring it up but she was getting cold feet.
Moose: Lowering his head, Waridi walked into the opening and looked around. “I see what you mean. If you propped up the rear wall you might even be able to extend it so you won’t be tripping on cubs.” This size den would be plenty large enough for a family to live and grow comfortably. It was why he had originally thought of claiming it for himself. It might be a bit of a climb to get to, but it was definitely worth the effort.
Of course now that he had imagined a family he couldn’t help, but to think of Adri with hers in here. After all the heartache she’d been through she deserved to have a nice, big, happy family to come home to. “So what do you think? It this one a keeper?” He turned to look at her, all smiles and bright eyes.
nessiaing: Adri had a smile on her face imaging the family she would have here, and she couldn't help but include Waridi in that imagination. He had found her a perfect den, of course she considered that Waridi may have been thinking of claiming this den for himself and here he was giving it up to her, the male was definitely one of the most considerate creatures she had ever met.
"I think this one might be it!" She told him excitedly. "I have a couple of conditions on it though" she told him slyly.
"One you have to help me clear it out." there was enough big boulders in there that Adri knew that she wasn't going to be able to do the work all by herself.
"But more importantly the second condition.... you have to share it with me." it was a rather forward of her to ask him to live with her, in her old pride this never would have happened, the males choose the females never the other way around. Already Ardi was being changed by her new home and she thought it was for the better.
Moose: “That’s awesome!” He stepped back out into the open air and spun with a happy turn. “I’ve always thought this one had the most potential of the whole lot. You might not have a lot of neighbors, but hey, that’s kind of a blessing in a pride this big.” Waridi rolled his shoulders, “Conditions? Alright, yeah, sure, hit me.”
Anything she had couldn’t be that bad. Ardi didn’t seem like that demanding of a lioness, and since he was a male, after all, he would help her out with as much work as he could. “Done. I’ll even ask my sisters to give us a paw. Beyond Bryne the others are just lounging around anyway.” He laughed.
Onto the second! Which sort of made Waridi choke on air and turn his popped out eyes towards the lioness. “Wow, that’s really…” Sudden? Soon? He was stunned into silence for a little while, simply gazing at her, but he knew the answer. He had always known. “I can do that. Pretty damn happily, too.”
nessiaing: Adri had the biggest smile she had ever had, "I know its soon but when you know you just know. Plus there is no point in delaying the inevitable, why bother fixing up two dens when if we were honest with each other we know we'll end up in just one." It sounded all matter of factly but in truth Adri's stomach was doing flip flops. She couldn't beleive how direct she had been this was not how she usually behaved, and certainly not how she had been raised. It was okay though it had worked out for the best.
"Well then now thats sorted out, why ont we meet back here in an hours time, and you can bring your sister and we can get to work." She was excited to move into her new home and she hopped that Waridi would be raring to go and tell his family his big news.
Moose:Waridi laughed a little. "So you know?" He had to admit, he was flattered. And very pleased, since he himself had started to feel that way about her as well. "I think your thinking Mountain girl. Very direct and to the point. It saves this lazy guy a lot of work, that's for sure." It was a change to see her so to the point. Ever since he had met her she had been very demure, but now....well, it was a change that he kind of liked. Waridi didn't mind not being the Alpha of the pair if that's the role she wanted to take. Moving closer to her he brushed his cheek alongside hers in a brief, but intimate contact. "See you in a few hours." Smiling, and giddy beyond believe, Waridi bounded over the mountainous terrain back to his home den with more spunk than he'd had in years.
nessiaing: Adri watch Waridi leave, her heart beating in her throat. It wont be long till you see him again. she told her self. She was certainly be counting away the minutes. Her cheek was warm where he had touched and she knew that she was blushing. She was excited to be starting her new life officially.
