It was chaos and it was all his fault. Eternal Sailor Vespa did not mean for the situation to degrade quite so horribly, and if he turned around, he could see the fight only continuing to get worse. He had no love for the Negaverse or Queen Metallia, but he did not wish ill upon some of their officers, and nor did he wish havoc and destruction upon his (hopefully) soon to be allies and the park. "This madness is my fault, Iris! I'm sorry..."

It seemed like such a typical thing for Vespa. To shoulder the blame and be the first to tear himself down when it came down to it, all to rid the other person of the satisfaction of doing so. He had taken Pasiphae's word to heart and he knew that Iris wouldn't care much for this destructive nature of his, but he felt that it had to be said. If they wanted a face to put on this flop, then let it be his. It would be his final failure as part of the Negaverse, he told himself...

"But I'm going to make it right somehow. Not sure how... but if I have to work my a** off to make things right for everyone hurt here, because of my stupid mistakes, then I'll make it right." Vespa looked towards the fighting for a moment more, his heart racing wildly in his chest. Somehow, with all the fighting, it only made his decision easier. It made him quick to forget the life he was going to leave behind, the one he chose to leave behind. Even when part of that life was standing next to him, still holding his hand. But perhaps that was for the best. "I want to remember everything from my time in the Negaverse, if that's possible. I... don't have too much intell to give, though most of it is with Kallichore, but anything that I could do to help defeat the Negaverse, I want to remember it. The good, the bad... mostly the bad... but maybe I can convince others? They're not all bad..."

He could have named a few off the top of his head, but that would get him no where tonight. Tonight, if he had any intention of saving them, he would have to save himself. So he turned to Iris, trying to stand strong despite the quiver of fear that managed to escape his voice. "I'm... ready. Is this going to hurt?"

The time had finally come. Through all the madness, the Chaos, the sudden revelation of Scott being Vespa and their hurried flight... they were finally free to begin the purification. Pasiphae squeezed Vespa's hand supportingly as he spoke about taking responsibility, a reminder that he would not be undergoing the process alone. She would be there. If Iris wanted to chew them out, she would endure it. She was, after all, partially to blame.

It touched her deeply to hear her boyfriend's motivations. He wasn't doing it for her, and that made the entire situation less heavy to her. If he had been switching sides just for her, because it was what he thought she wanted, then Pasiphae was not sure how she would have handled the situation. It was not about her. It never had been. It was about Vespa, about Scott, about overcoming his own demons and rising to stand above them. She could not be prouder of him for his decision, for his desire to remember his time in the Negaverse and to help others like himself. If she had done anything to help him reach this part of his life, then she felt blessed.

With a final squeeze of Vespa's hand, she moved to stand beside the other members of Iris's team, a girl in purple and white, and a gentlemen in brown and gold. If there was more that she could do, then she would take whatever direction was given her.

The f*cker made a farewell video?! Where as it made sense in certain aspects of sentimentality, it was probably one of the stupidest things that Vespa could have done.

If this was a normal day, she probably would have attempted to beat his face in. The other senshi he brought with him probably would have suffered a similar fate just from Iris' wrath, though her offense was not nearly as drastic in the yellow-suited senshi's opinion.

Iris was sure she had a migraine now.

Rubbing at her temples, she considered their new location. It seemed secluded enough where it would be difficult for someone or something to sneak up on them for an attack.

"...when this sh*t is all over... I get one free shot to yer face, Vespa!" It wasn't a request, it was a demand. The blonde rubbed at her temples a bit more before she turned to her teammates.

"Ya know what t'do... right?"

DivineSaturn
Though she didn't approve of Iris' means of self-expression, Irene couldn't help but think she had a point. There was something to be said for sentimentality and wrapping up loose ends. There was also something to be said for not doing things that resulted in a giant, meaningless battle royale. People were getting hurt because of Vespa's actions, and for what? For a video that, at this point, his family might never see?

But he was clearly distraught at the damage he had inadvertently caused, and eager to make amends. Because of that, Irene offered him an encouraging smile. "I'm given to understand that it does hurt," she said apologetically. "But not for long. And then it will be over, and you'll be able to start anew."

That was all she had time for. More than she had time for, really. Nodding at Iris, she stepped away from the clearing, taking up a position slightly closer to the action so that she could intercept anyone who got too close.

Desukyun
The senshi nodded before stalking off, not wanting to do anything that would anger or annoy Iris further. He knew what he had to do: Protect all of them until it was over and then take her back. That’s it.

Parthenope scanned the area until he found a fairly large gap in the foliage on the edge of the playground where he immediately took guard at. Anything that wanted to get through there would have to go through him.

With a slight mewing sound, the chubby manx cat seemed to slip off of Iris' shoulder (landing on her feet at the ground) and also distance herself from the blonde. She managed to loom in near Pasiphae and Vespa, offering a gentle "Come now... it would be wise to move you away from here for now, sweety!" With a cooing-like purr, she trotted forward to a third area where her other two senshi were not upholding their duties.

Iris rubbed her gloved hands together. "...let's get this over with quickly..."
PostPosted: Tue Sep 02, 2014 10:25 pm

He didn't blame Iris, or anyone, for their anger, and nor would he defend himself against such actions right now. If Iris wanted to punch him in the face, either now or after the purification, he would gladly accept it. It was something he was going to have to carry with him into the next phase of his life. And he'd gladly do so, so long as he made it to that next phase.

He squeezed Pasiphae's hand, looking up and her and offering her a small smile, thankful for her company. He wondered if he could have done this alone... he worried for Kallichore and hoped she was safe and away from this chaos, but he was grateful not to have been alone. His mind was racing with a million thoughts and his heart was beating rapidly in an attempt to keep up, and he didn't even want to think about the butterflies in his stomach.

Iris was already doing him a huge favor... what was one punch to the face in return for that? He gave her a nod, uncertain if she was joking but not letting that effect his decision in the least. Irene had offered him some advice to go along with her smile, and he was surprised that he hadn't shirked at the mention of there being pain. "I'll take it. I'll just think of it as... punishment, for being stupid and falling for their lies in the first place. Thank you..."

While Parthenope hadn't said anything to him, the fact that he was quick to take a guard position helped put his mind at ease. At least no one else would be hurt... too many had been hurt needlessly this night. At ********* request, he reluctantly released his hold on Pasiphae's hand, but not before giving it a squeeze. "I... I love you. In case something goes wrong, or I forget... but you know, so you'll remind me. See you on the other side..."

He hoped. Then he pulled her hand away, and looked straight ahead at Iris. Nothing could hold him back now. Not his family, not Penelope... not even Scott Erlea himself.

"I'm ready."

Pasiphae openly frowned at Iris's words. How could she threaten someone who was not only apologetic but clearly caught offguard? No one had intended this battle, and was the pain around them not enough? But Vespa agreed to it, so the Shame Senshi bit her tongue and determined to bear it. If he could, then so could she. She was there to support his decisions, not make them for him.

The other two Senshi moved away to take up guard positions, and Pasiphae would have joined them had ********* not motioned for her to join Vespa and Iris in the third area. Unwilling to let her boyfriend face the trial alone, she followed. Then he addressed her in that sweet, kind voice that had become dear to her. He loved her. Whatever happened, whatever the future held... he loved her. It was the most wonderful, most humbling, most painful moment of her life.

"Scott... I love you too." She could not keep her voice from cracking, but she smiled at him all the same. Soon, he would be safe. He would not longer reek of Chaos. He would no longer have to fear the Negaverse's hold over him. He would be free... and that was all she ever wanted for those Corrupted. She made sure her smile was bright, that any sign of fear was wiped away from her face.

He would be free. Soon, he would be free.

Iris was not the sort who was sold by romantic mush. She watched the displays in an almost indifferent manner, seeming to hold back any commentary on the subject. Her eyes seemed to flicker for a moment like embers kicked up in a fire.

She heaved in a sigh, closing her eyes in an effort to clear her mind.

She could summon her strength as a princess, even with anger lingering within her, but it would be best for everyone if she evened herself out.

One more breath in and out, and as she opened her eyes, her outfit transformed suddenly. The tall blonde's fuku seemed to almost burn of a white light as it grew out, shooting to the floor simultaneously as her hair did the same. Her tiara faded, revealing a symbol of a star and an arch upon her forehead. When her outfit seemed to cool, it was a floor length gown of warm yellow. It was only then that two wings suddenly shot out of her shoulders, tearing a stifled grunt from the princess.

Eyes were probably upon her, but she did not pay anybody any mind. Her golden eyes were fixed upon the corrupted senshi. Wordlessly she stepped forward, holding her hands together as she moved. It was only once there was about 3 feet distance between her and the Wasp that she parted her hands to reveal her crystal.

Had it been there the whole time?

It was simple looking, quite unimpressive for a gem of any sort. However, the crystal floated up from her hands, and as she closed her eyes, it began to glow. The crystal pulsed through the spectrum of the rainbow, one color at a time. Upon a final pulse of pure white, the gem seemed to splinter into a more impressive display.

With the sudden splintering, the area was bathed in an intense white light.

Vespa watched in silent awe when Iris made the transformation from Eternal to Princess, and given what little he had known and witnessed about Iris, the flowy dress that billowed slightly in the late summer breeze, though gorgeous, didn't quite fit the foul-mouthed and punch happy person he thought he knew Iris to be. Not that he didn't think she deserved the status... she had obviously proven herself worthy, and he could only hope that he was strong enough to overcome the darkness within him to accept the light that she offered.

He peered down at the crystal that she held in her hands, almost mystified by its sudden appearance as well as its beauty. It was a beautiful crystal, definitely, and he wasn't sure what to expect from it. Was he suppose to touch it? His fingers itched- he wanted to touch it. But before he could say anything or move towards it, it began to splinter and the brilliant light that shone from it was unfiltered by the visor he wore over his eyes. He fought the urge to look away from its light, feeling a burning sensation within his chest starting and beginning to spread, but he kept his gaze on the light before him.

He wanted the light, he told himself. He wanted the salvation it brought. It was as though there was a wildfire within his chest, burning bright and fiercely and it made him want to scream, but he did not try and stop the pain, nor did he utter a single cry. Sometimes, the wildfire needed to happen, to cleanse the forest of its impurities, and he tried to think of it that way, as it burned hotter and hotter within his form. The crystal and its power was cleansing him of all the darkness within him... it was going to uproot all the seeds that the Negaverse had tried to sow within him and pollinate the new ones. It was going to slay the monster that the Negaverse had tried to create, removing the painful shackles that tried to contain it until its rage became too much, and heal the wounds inflicted from the whips and prods of its oppressors. The light would purify him... so what was there to fear from the light?

'I'm Sailor Vespa...' He told himself, gritting against the pain he felt and refusing to let himself succumb to it. He rose to his feet, to overcome the pain, the last remnants of the chaos that Laurelite had placed into him three times before clinging on. But not for long. He reached for the crystal, though it was just out of reach, and that seemed to do the trick, as the pain had dissipated and turned into a warm, comforting feeling, starting from his chest and spreading to his entire form. 'And I am a monster no more...'

He could not see what the others have seen, but he knew something was different. The darkness that had once consumed him and weighed him down... it was gone. And there, in the midsts of the light, he stood, Eternal Vespa, Purified Senshi of Wasps.

While she had seen Princess Iris before, she had never before seen the way her Eternal fuku transformed into the long gown that now bedecked her. As Vespa and Iris moved closer to each other, Pasiphae held her breath and hoped. Hoped that the process would be quick. That it would be mostly painless. That no one would interrupt this important moment.

To say that the light that was beautiful would be a paltry description. Pasiphae had seen many beautiful sights as a Senshi, perhaps as many as she had seen terrible ones. She had seen the fine pink dust of her moon. She had seen the lavish setting in the Surrounding. She had seen magic that previously had only . She had seen people standing up for the truth, for what was right, for what one another. All of these were beautiful, and most paled in comparison to what was before her now. Yet, the light of Iris's crystal... what other word could she use, besides beautiful? It glimmered in every rainbow shade before unifying into white, blindingly glorious and warm in the same manner that Pasiphae's own starseed felt.

For a time, she could not look at Vespa or Iris. Her gaze averted from that light, even as the Corrupted Senshi reached out bravely to accept it. When next she could, she looked. Her heart leapt as his aura blazed in her senses. No more nausea. No more sickening pit in her heart as she looked at holes in his head or his chest. How simple, and yet how important, was the symbolism of the white cloth that now covered his chest rather than the black.

She did not know what to say. So, she said what was immediately on her mind, for once not caring at all how the words sounded as they came tumbling out, "Thank you... oh Iris, thank you." She reached out for Vespa's hand, a reflexive action by this point, as tears stung at her eyes. How blessed she was, to have been here for this moment, to see that what she had always encouraged Corrupted Senshi to do was this beautiful, this... peaceful. Her efforts to save her brethern would have to be doubled from this point onward.

But for now? There was a battle. There were people still in danger. Pasiphae had sworn, and intended to keep her vow, to do what she could to protect the innocent. That meant it was time to go back into the chaos they had left.

Quoting you to request you don't post until the next time we quote you? Going to require a bit of back and forth on some of this stuff <3

In recent times, the Princess had been confronted with a couple failures which had left a sour taste in her mouth. The attempt to assist Bischofite rid himself of his youma disease and the dilemma with Labyrinthite were enough to shake Iris' beliefs in the power her crystal possessed.

Yet as the light dimmed and when the blonde opened her eyes, she found the Wasps uniform had changed. Her lids were already heavy as she gazed upon his form.

"...good..." was the only word to escape her as her crystal vanished as suddenly as it had appeared. With it gone, the light brightening the evening darkness faded. Iris staggered forward, no longer able to carry her own weight upon her two feet. As she buckled down to one knee, the dress seemed to glisten as it also faded back to the less regal form of a senshi's fuku.

"That's my cue!" the cat announced before she promptly did a rather simplistic back-flip. Over the spot she had jumped a folded up blanket with silvery stars appeared.

The tailless cat's eyes drifted to Parthenope, who was obviously the next part of the plan.

"Your turn!"

Parthenope could hear the commotion around him as he vigilantly guarded his gap in the trees. Purifications were never sunshine and roses whenever he was around. The first almost resulted in the deaths of everyone he found important, including himself and the second was supposedly ruined by a dumb decision. Still, he found himself unexpectedly intrigued by the whole thing. It made him realize just how much more of a last ditch effort the previous purification had been. Compared to this, it seemed shockingly incomplete.

When it seemed to be over, and the once corrupted Vespa stood there purified, ********* call drew him back to the small group. He regarded the other pair quickly as he gathered up the blanket and draped it over Iris, taking care to make sure that anything clearly identifiable was hidden by the star covered cloth. Parthenope almost felt like he should say something especially after what he had witnessed but all he could muster was a small nod. It was better to keep it as professional and as free of awkward small talk as possible.

After his task was done, motioned to his teammate. “Do your thing, Irene. We shoul’ be gettin’ as far away from this place as possible.”

As she stood guard, Irene couldn't help but worry. What if this didn't work? If all of the effort they put into this, and the fighting that was going on all around them, meant nothing? Before, she would have insisted that such a thing wasn't possible. Now, she knew better. Having everyone united in purpose and trying their best was no guarantee that they would be successful.

She couldn't watch. Even if facing in that direction was an option, the light would blind her to what was happening. At least that meant she wasn't tempted to abandon her post. When she could feel the change behind her, as the chaos was seemingly burned away, she let herself relax just a little bit.

Everything would be okay now. They had helped someone, and he would be able to get a fresh start. That was worth the fuss, in her opinion.

It didn't mean she could let her guard down, though. Once the light died down, Irene backed away from her post, watching as Parthenope bundled Iris up in the blanket. Once he was done, she nodded to him and clasped her hands together. "Irene's Peaceful Offering!"

A small, sparkly tree seemed to sprout in front of her, growing at a rapid pace. Leaves unfolded from its thin branches, and were quickly joined by flowers, blooming and scattering intangible petals.

Once the sapling was in bloom, Irene straightened and let her hands drop. "Alright, we're ready to go!" Parthenope knew how her magic worked already, so she turned to Vespa and his friend instead. "That will help you get away, as long as you don't fight anyone. I'm sure that some of the people here will be unhappy with how things turned out, so you may want to get away while you have the chance. But things will get better! So congratulations, and welcome!"
PostPosted: Fri Sep 05, 2014 11:30 pm

Only once she was within the assumed safety of the blanket, the blonde went completely limp against his body. She couldn't hold herself up any more, and any sense of power she once had completely vanished.

For all practical purposes, whoever Iris was, she was now a normal girl at the moment.

After the girl had slumped against her teammate, the manx cat easily reminded him after Irene had used her magic "Alright. Time to go!"

With a vague wave of her paw in his direction, ********* dismissed him.

He pulled the blanket even more snug around her body when he felt her weight sag against him, hoisting her rather unceremoniously over his shoulder. Normally he’d be able to take his time and make sure there that she would be as comfortable as possible even in her unconscious state but the time for such a luxury had passed. A stiff back, and a sore shoulder for him, would be bearable if a little annoying. But it wasn’t like she would be up and out immediately after something like this.

Parthenope watched expectantly as Irene’s magical plant sprouted from the ground. The effects were nearly instant. The fairly fast senshi was more agile than ever as he quickly took off with their fallen Princess, sprinting for nearby tree cover and disappearing into the darkness. Their job was done and the battle continuing in the background was of no concern to any of them. He figured that whoever was out there had it under control. If not, there were always more allies somewhere waiting.

Nothing had changed, yet everything had changed. The outside world around him had remained the same, even once the brilliant light had faded, but he was different. He looked at his gloves and almost wanted to cry-- black, still black! But there was more color, the more his gaze moved from his hands to up to his arms, blue and green fabric, to match the white on his chest... the fact that he could see colors, TRUE colors without the bug-eyed visor filtering everything made everything all the better. Was this what being purged of Metallia's darkness was?

He knew that, physically, he was different. His head felt light, as there were no longer long, golden locks to weigh him down or threaten to trip him. His bat wings were replaced by fluffy wings, soft and white, enough to want to snuggle his face in them if he could even reach that far. He wanted more time to observe the changes over his form, though he was not completely blind to what was happening around him. Pasiphae was at his side still, ever loyal and emotionally overwhelmed. She seemed so happy... though he wasn't quite sure why? Perhaps she simply wanted to believe that there was hope and it healed her as well as himself to see the deed done?

Before he could ask what it was that invested her into helping him so much, he watched as a sheet was thrown over the one that had saved him, and before he could say anything, such as thank her or offer his cheek to punch, Parthenope and ********* flung the blanket over her, and her overwhelming aura disappeared, letting him know just what cost her selfless act had cost her. He wanted to apologize and help, but Irene had acted too quickly for him to react properly. Had this been planned? How many others had been saved before him to warrant this kind of well practiced procedure? It was a happy kind of curiosity, though, and Irene was kind to leave them a way out. "Th-thank you... all of you! Let Iris know that I'm okay with her punching me still!"

Even though he wasn't sure exactly why, outside of causing the fight at the park. That would have been enough, to be fair, and he looked towards the park, knowing that others would have felt the change... was the fight still going on? How much longer would the fight go on? How many more others would be hurt, while he and Pasiphae escaped? He could have easily escaped using Irene's magic, and yet... he felt as though he shouldn't have left. That'd be cowardly to at least not try to end the fighting that he had caused. Perhaps if Mica saw him switch sides, she would lose her will to fight and call off the attack?

He looked to Pasiphae, the one that stuck by him, the one that was holding his hand as though he were special to her... "I'm sorry... but I have to go back. I started this fight, I should find a way to end it. Peacefully, if possible. I can't have anyone else hurt because of me..."

He pulled away from her, and moved away from the safety of Irene's magic. Closer and closer to the battle, as foolish as that was of him. "You can go, if you want. Thanks for helping, Pasiphae. I'll thank you properly someday... eventually."
