User Image Though he was displeased by the necessity, Antarmur'ss left his camp to go flitting off to speak to another God. Or rather Goddess. He was aware of her existence, though had not taken in her company yet. He had been rather preoccupied as of late, and she was, as far as he could determine, something of a minor power at this time. Still, in the last war Antarmur'ss had taken up company with some minor powers.

Finding the Goddess was not so much his goal as locating her primary temple. It couldn't have been too well hidden or else how would potential followers find this one to pledge to her? When he finally came upon Katerina's temple, he chose not to simply stride in. Rather, he called together some darkness into a detailess form of a humaniod with glowing purple eyes. Small as a normal pockettu, but creeping close to the walls as he whispered his voice out from the manifestation. "Goddess Katerina. I request a audience with you."

Katerina was indeed a minor power. Not that she minded. She'd been focusing on her realm, gathering followers and making sure the communities and people got along well, especially since it was rather a sprawling area, with its outlying woodsy areas leading all the way up to the main city near the mountains. Summer time was when her realm would show small signs of her weaker powers, Some areas would become patchy and not completely snow covered, and most frozen lakes would thaw. She tended to stay in her realm when the rest of the world was warmer, and so would be quick to not only notice the form requesting a audience, but answer him.

She knew who it was, she could sense that much, not only was his power very strong, but she could sense the vibes one gets when an evil presence is afoot. It was hard to think of some gods as evil when compared to, say, the Cursed, but it was still smart to tread lightly. She had no reason to deny his request, however, even though all she knew of him was what her aides and her own eyes and ears could discern. She was not one to rush to judgement, and would be quite willing to speak with any of the non-cursed gods unless given a good reason not to.

"Granted, God of Darkness; you are welcome in my temple for your audience," her words would drift to him in a polite and friendly tone, allowing him to appear as he wished.

Once the permission was granted, the little shapeless formed shadow began to grow. Expanding while at the same time growwing thinner, until a archway of shadow stood where the form had been. Thin as a sheet of paper, but as pitch black as a moonless night. Antarmur'ss stepped from this archway and squinted his eyes lightly at the change of territory. His tail swayed behind him as he stood in his normal garb. He had no intention of showing up on a Goddesses doorstep arrayed in full wargear.

"Lady Winter." Antarmur'ss greeted Katerina with a slight nod of his head. "Thank you for allowing me to come. I hope that all is well within your domain so that I am not imposing upon your needed presence."

Katerina had manifested herself as soon as answering his request, she stood there placidly, hands clasped in front of her as his archway appeared. She had watched curiously as it formed, then as he stepped forward, waiting patiently for him to adjust to not only the light, but the cold, if such a thing even bothered him. She nodded at his greeting, and smiled happy with his politeness in wishing her realm well.

"You are quite welcome. Thank you for the polite request, I appreciate it. And yes, things are well for now. Quiet, yet steadily becoming busier, but you are not imposing. I would ask if all was well with you, but well, rumors are abound of trouble in paradise...and I suspect that is what brings you here?" she asks, to confirm what she'd heard about the war.

Despite the gravity of his errand, Antarmur'ss smiled placidly towards Katerina. He folded his arms across his chest and adopted a relaxed pose to enhance his appearance of being at ease. "You are well informed Katerina." He responded with a slight tilt of his horned head.

"The Cursed have entered my Umbra Roads and brought an army down upon my territory. They have destroyed my guardian temple, a gift I had created for one of my demigods upon his ascension. I have worked hard to push them back, but it appears that strength is on their side at this time. My forces, along with those of Lukarius who has been aiding me in the protection of my city, have been forced back. The cursed are but a step away from being outside my home walls. They are threatening the homes and livelihoods of my followers." He stated rather somberly. "They have captured my children, and while they have been rescued, it is a constant threat upon them to be dragged off by these invaders. I have need of reinforcements to help bolster my followers strength, so I have come to you to ask for any aid you might offer me in the protection of my home."

Katerina waved the well informed comment off dismissively, though still smiles. "I would be risking my followers if I did not try to learn much about the world around us upon my awakening, yes?"

She listened to him the smile fading as she nodded gravely to his words. "I understand, Antarmur'ss. But...why seek the aid of a new Goddess such as myself, who isn't exactly the strongest to help you, nor who has many followers to even spare? Surely those who fought previous wars with you would be better. Have you asked the older and more veteran gods for aid yet? Those with not only more followers, but more experience in such matters?" She was at least partially sure she knew why; her loyal aide Emeric, who she sensed had appeared nearby, as he almost always was, had learned as much about the previous wars as he could and passed on such info to herself. She could only discern there had been some falling out between them, but she would have thought such desperation that he described would bring him to reconcile.

When Katerina would question he purpose for coming to her, rather then seeking out what Gods were as old as he. As powerful as he. "It is not always the strongest who can be the most useful Katerina." He made a slight gesture with his hand as he glanced away and peered off in the direction where his own domain laid. "In the first war it was merely three of us against the Cursed. In the second war, those other two actually teamed up with the cursed to attack me. Would you seek out an alliance with those who joined forces with the cursed against you?" He asked while turning his attention back towards Katerina.

"In the last war I allied myself with two new young gods. They hardly had many followers to speak of, and in fact it was their purpose to use me as protection against the cursed. Yet even their few followers proved to be effective. Without them I would not have been as victorious as I turned out to be. In addition, they became strengthened by their efforts." He stopped to give a brief pause to follow. After he did so he continued. "If the cursed defeat me, they will turn their sights on the next conquest. Whom do you think they are more likely to come after Katerina? The Gods they have already tainted with their alliance, or the weaker ones they can easily sweep up at their own leisure?"

Katerina nodded gravely as she listened to his words. She had known some semblance of what had happened in the last war, though she wasn't about to guess what anyone's personal motives were, or try and play the "who's right and wrong" game. She told him as much. "I understand how you must feel, then, but perhaps things have changed. I am a firm believer in the 'Everyone makes mistakes' mantra, no matter how cliche it may sound, but the important thing is not to dwell on the past. Especially when the present is much more dire, by your description."

"And to answer your question, there is no way to know what the Cursed would do next, nor would I be quick to assume I knew how they think, either, though I disagree with your assessment."

She pauses, as if thinking to herself for a moment. Then looking like she'd come to a decision, she speaks again. "I will make you a deal, Lord of Darkness. If you can bring yourself to speak to those gods you feel wronged you, and they still refuse you their aid, I will give you mine. But only in a healing capacity," she adds. "In this we will both learn if there is any forgiveness or remorse for past actions, or imagined transgressions, yes? From any of you."

Antarmur'ss listened to Katernia. When the Winter Goddess reached the end of her words, and laid out her deal to him, the Darkness God lifted a hand up and waved it dismissively at her.

"Lady Winter. I did not come to you for the purpose of being manipulated into what you feel is the proper path of forgiveness. I seek no forgiveness nor do I offer it to any at all but those who call me Lord and Father. I would only turn to those whom I feel amity for if I were asked by my followers. What makes you think I would even bother returning to you for aid if I were in such dire straights as to need their help?" Antarmur'ss turned his gaze over Katerina with a slight scowl now on his lips. "My position would be so weak and so desperate that I would know that I would merely be dragging you and yours into a certain defeat. I hardly see what could be gained by weakening your stance against the foe that would undoubtedly be at your door soon enough. here, as I stand now. I still feel I have a chance for victory with but a little more aid. This is why I leave my home and my followers to speak with Gods I know little about."

Antarmur'ss made another small wave of his hand, and he turned on the ball of his foot to pass back towards the shadows that brought him forth. "It is also a most unwelcome gesture on your part to try and mend a rift that you have no information about. I can assure you, there is no remorse on either part for the actions of all parties. Good bye Katerina. Do take care." He stated dismissively before vanishing.
