In the wake of the events that scarred her for life, Edith found herself unable to fly. She didn't have the energy to make her wings beat for her even though she needed to get home. Her clothing was torn from debris, and she was absolutely soaked from the rain. A part of her knew she needed to get home before her big brother started to worry, but she couldn't bring herself to care. Edith sniffled, and stopped walking, bare feet soaked in muck. She lowered her head into her hands for another soundless scream. Why? Why did it have to end like that? She was a horrible, horrible friend, and there was nothing she had been able to do to save him, nothing!

Seriously? It just had to rain today. Scrowling at the forest path around her Kenna cursed the fact that she had decided to venture out by herself. Sierra was out of town for competitions and the litleo had absolutely refused to go so was no regretting every moment of it, "Could be having a fancy meal right now..."

Still it was better this way.

The last thing Kenna wanted to do was to see Sierra's expression as the litleo walked around as a human rather than as her beloved pokemon. The memory just put a heavy rock in her stomach. I really didn't ask for this you know... Stumbling at the thought the litleo paused as she noticed a muddy figure standing in the last of hte sprinkling rain, "Hey!" She bit her lip. Should she even care about this other poke-human? But something about the distressed way that the girl was standing bothered Kenna. That helplessness...rang with her own past feelings, "You...shouldn't be just standing here in the rain. Are you crazy?"

When she looked up dirty tear stains ran trails down her little cheeks. There was something small about Edith at that moment; as if the life had been sucked out of her. He might as well have used the leech seed.... Maybe that would have made him happy? Edith wrapped her arms around her torso, looking away from the stranger to stare at her feet. After some long, tense moment she shook her head. She wasn't crazy, just bad. A bad, bad girl. Her wings hung heavy at her sides as they flexed, trying to shield her as best they could. If the girl thought she was crazy...then why was she out here, too?

Okay so this girl...really is having a moment. Sighing Kenna moved as if she would walk right past Edith, but after a long moment of hesitation she instead poked the girl's shoulder, "Hey, hey. Are you trying to become a statue out here? A dead body for the woods?" Kenna rolled her eyes at the dramatic actions of the other, "You know doing stuff like this isn't going to help your situation in anyway...whatever it is."

"Seriously though..." Kenna's gaze did soften a bit, "If you're going to be upset you should at least do it out of the rain. Last thing anyone needs is to get sick while they're feeling like this." She pursed her lips, "Not going to speak though are ya?"

Edith wasn't sure how she should respond. She was at a loss for words, since there honestly wasn't anyway to help the situation, so what did it matter? She pulled her older model cell phone from her pocket, slid it open and typed out "Can't talk. Friend evolved, changed. Tried to talk to him, help him, he was sad. He attacked me, and I attacked him. He ran away." Knowing the way Kole had treated her earlier she might be better off as a dead body in the woods. She sniffled and rubbed her snotty nose on the crook of her elbow before handing the phone over to Kenna so she could see.

Raising an eyebrow the litleo stared at the phone with a sigh. Maybe it was a good thing that Sierra had forced her to learn to read a bit. Tilting her head Kenna slowly mouthed the words and frowned, "So your friend was a jerk to you then?" Blinking she looked up at the other pokemon, "What's the deal? The guy probably was freaking out over his changes, trust me I know how he feels about that one, and what more could you do? You tried right? And attacking is an instinct...it's how we stay alive silly. What else could ya do?"

Ever so gently she tugged on the other girl's arm, "As it is if you want to help your friend out still try again later when things are calmer. Right now though gettin' sick isn't gonna help ya in anyway, right? Shouldn't ya be healthy so you can recover and try to find him again?" She paused and gazed at Edith, "if he's truly that important to ya then ya shouldn't let a fight bother ya like that. Though if he hurts you more..." She frowned, "Ya don't look like a tough cookie, no offense, so if he's just become a bully then maybe you should learn to hold your ground better. Don't let him bully ya like that. Who needs a jerk as a friend anyway? Might be good that you attacked him...teach him a lesson not ta mess with ya like that."

She patted the girl's head awkwardly with her other hand, "Come on now. Stap beatin' yourself up and let me treat ya to some cocoa. Something to warm up your spirits from this."

She shook her head. Edith hadn't been a fan of technology to begin with, but with this little thing she was able to talk to others alot more easily than she would have with sign language. She held up a finger and typed out, "Not just changes. Something else. Something bad." Edith desperately wanted to convey how terrifying the entire experience had been, but she couldn't think of the words. Nothing would be able to do it justice, anyway. There was some logic in this girls tone that had her sighing in defeat. Standing in the rain wasn't good for her health, and it wouldn't be for his, which is what she worried for. Hopefully Kole had found a dry place for the night. So she turned her dark eyes to the girl and nodded. She would stand up for him, even if it scared her. Edith smiled and looped her arm around this girls so she could lean in. She knew she was dirty, wet, and clingy but Edith needed to know that there were still good people in the world. That and she was so cold that the shaking wasn't just from her wild emotions.

Kenna frowned. Something bad? Could changing really destroy a person that badly? The litleo worried for the girl clinging to her arm, but said no more on it. Right now she just needed to get the other pokemon somewhere warm where she could rest, "I guess then we'll have you stay the night with me. Storms too bad to really leave...or at least stay a bit. I'm sure there's a dress or two I can give ya that's dry." Not minding the mud or the wetness one bit Kenna kept a tight hold on the girl to support her as she starting leading hte way to her home.

Stay the night with her? Edith wasn't so sure about that, surely her brother would worry, but then, she couldn't let him see her like this. Better to let him think she had run off with a friend then been found by a stranger in the woods. Edith nodded fervently and gave a little smile, grateful beyond words for the others kindness. She slipped her phone back into her pocket, and took a deep breath. There was still a lot that bothered her, that frightened her, but she was ready to take steps into a better direction.

"Good deal." Kenna smiled, a rare thing, towards the other pokemon. "We'll get you cleaned up in no time and have some hot coco. I also can raid Sierra's movies and we can watch something." She laughed softly. She had never offered this to anyone before, but with Sierra gone for the night and with the way this girl's state tugged at her heart....why not?

It couldn't hurt to be nice to someone for once.

And whoever had hurt the girl like this definitely deserved a good punch in the face. Kenna could probably provide that if the jerk ever came her way...she smirked. After all eve n if he was the scariest thing for the other girl there was nothing to scare the litleo. Right?
