It was interesting to fly above the place that had been her home as a foal. To see the places she had lingered in her youth. There was the glade she gathered flowers in as a filly, dancing among the scattered petals with her sister. There again was the river where she had waded, dancing in the shallows as she played tag with Ash. There were the trees they played hide-and-seek amongst, the briar patch they had learned to navigate, the razor vines they had long-ago known to avoid...
She dipped a wing and tilted, spiraling about their playground as she let the memories rise and fall. There she had told Ash what stories she knew of unicorns and healing, and convinced him that even without the ability to heal like his mother he could still be a warrior like his father. There she had challenged Ty to see who would be the first to fly. There she had sang to her friends for the first time... On and on and on...
Kaishara shook her head, dismissing the memories that threatened to distract her from her current course. She knew where she had been in her life, but it was who she was that she was trying to get back to. Not that that was such an easy feat to accomplish... But still, she would do her best. She'd made enough mistakes to know that it wouldn't exactly be easy, but the steps to make a fair start were well enough behind her. She'd fallen for the words of one who turned her from her course, and when she had discovered her mistakes she'd stepped away from him... Thrown herself into freedom and wandering after they had parted ways.
She had just recently returned to her home, having spent time in the cold company of the mountains and even visiting a distant forest or two. While she somewhat missed the mountains already, it was good to be in her homeland again. She had not had the courage to make many new friends, but visiting with her family and renewing old acquaintances was as good enough a start as any.
Which brought her to this place, where they had forged so many happy memories in her foalhood. And while what had followed was less than ideal, she would not let those sorrows tarnish her early memories. She would not regret the friends she had made, only the events that threatened their loss. And she couldn't say just when everything had gone to pieces, but it surely had.
And strangely enough, the first soul she had sought out after her relationship had ended... Well, she didn't want to think why she had gone to Ty to mourn her choices, the loss of good years, the waste and the confusion and the shadow on her heart. It had been foolish and sentimental and while he had been a good friend to her, he hadn't deserved that. But perhaps she would get a chance to thank him, and apologize...
Spotting the "runway" she swooped down to land, taking a few prancing strides before she halted. With a flutter of her wings she folded them to her back, shaking her mane out of her eyes and smiling at the sight of a familiar figure drinking at their favorite lake.
"Well, I confess I did not expect to find you here..." She murmured with a grin.
