Riley couldn't help but to smile. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and his trainer had promised him a movie night with snacks and a blanket fort!
That wouldn't be until tonight though. For now, Riley was off on a hike. Maybe he could find something interesting to bring back? His boy did like collecting bugs~

Walking through the woods had become a normal thing for Kenna now. Sierra still didn't know how to react to the presence of a small girl rather than pokemon in the home and Kenna felt the need to get fresh air instead of putting up with the awkwardness between them. Plus in the back of her mind a memory still lingered of a pumpkin. If she could just figure out what happened to the little guy then maybe she could finally just let it go.
As it was right now the litleo focused on jumping up on a fallen tree and walking the length of it rather than the path. Paths were cheap and easy anyways. It was much more fun to see what she could get into off in the real woods rather than the public paths.

Hovering over a thicket of rose-like flowers, Riley stooped to pluck a few. Maybe he could find a vase for them back home. Put them into the bedroom to make it smell nice!
When he heard the crunching of nearby feet, Riley stood straight up and turned to look. He couldn't see anyone though. "H-hello?"

As she noticed another pokemon Kenna couldn't help but to blink. Once...then twice...then one last time to make certain. Was he glowing? Even as he heard her the litleo couldn't help but to have the urge to pounce. Sneaking through the trees she suddenly made certain to keep quiet before jumping out towards the other.
Gaze flashing, teeth bared it looked like she was going to attack. But then suddenly Kenna twisted on her feet and landed instead a few feet away from Riley, "Hey~" Shaking some stray dirt from her skirt the girl stood and placed a hand on her hip while watching him. Was he picking roses out here? What a girly thing to do...

Crimson eyes darted around nervously. Well, maybe he'd been hearing things...
There was the rustling of the underbrush as Kenna pounced, and a shriek as Riley ducked and covered his head with one arm as the other brandished the flowers like a weapon. When he realized he was still standing, and heard that relaxed voice, he blinked and looked up over the protection of his arm.
"Oh, um... hi," he squeaked back, clearing his throat as he straightened up. So.. she wasn't attacking him?

Smirking Kenna only shook her head at the boy, "You really shouldn't be out here alone if that's your only weapon." She wagged a finger at him, "If I really was going to attack you then game over."
Still the litleo was curious, "Why are you picking flowers out here?" She frowned thinking of all the wasted flowers at pageants and in the house, "All they do is die anyway." Even if they were pretty...it was still..she scrunched her nose. That was something far too girly for her to consider!

Riley felt his face heat up sharply. "They didn't start out meaning to be a weapon," he said meekly, giving the flowers in his hand an apologetic look.
His ears perked at the question, and he actually smiled. "Because they're going to die anyway. If I bring them home, I can enjoy them. There are lots out here for the bees and things to have, so I'm just taking a few. They make my room pretty and smell nice and everyone else in the house can enjoy them before they fade." He looked back at the bush, and then to the girl. "There're plenty left if you want some~"

Kenna laughed, "I'm glad to hear that then. Would've been an easy defeat with that on your side." Amused at his reaction towards the flowers Kenna just shook her head. So strange how different others could be.
"That's morbid." Kenna shook her head, "Still they would have lasted longer out here I would think." She shrugged, "Your call though. As long as you don't take all of them like you said..." At his suggestion her eyes widened, "Should I? I don't think flowers are my style though...."

Head cocking, Riley felt himself blush again. Was it so morbid? "I'm not allowed to grow flowers in the house, so this is the only way I can get them inside," he said with a small pout, remembering the last time he'd tried to make a flower garden in the bedroom. That hadn't gone over well with his boy's parents.
When she questioned his suggestion, his brow rose curiously. She seemed interested... "I think you should!" he said happily, turning to face the bush again. "You gotta be careful of the thorns on the stems. They're pretty sharp. You gotta pluck them from the bottom down here." He plucked one up and turned to hold it out to the female. "When you get home, trim the bottom at an angle. It'll last longer that way. Put it in water, and a sunny spot. It should last a while for you to enjoy. You can choose the other flowers you want~" He held his hand back out toward the bush like a display, inviting Kenna to choose what flowers would end up in her bouquet.

"Really?" Kenna wrinkled her nose, "You do know flower pots for indoor ones exist right? Sierra has some in our house." The litleo frowned, "Unless those aren't allowed either."
"Are you a flower expert now?" She teased lightly though admittedly Kenna did admire the rose in her hand. It was awfully pretty...and since he was already cutting flowers it should be okay to grab some too, "Alright fine." Kenna smiled, "I'll grab some I suppose."
Maybe it wouldn't be too bad to decorate the house for when Sierra returned. Perhaps Riley did have the right idea after all...not that she would stop teasing him for liking flowers, but still...it was pretty relaxing to do these things. Only occasionally of course since she would never admit to liking flowers personally. So just this once she would let herself do something girly like this. No one had to know after all.
