It was a beautiful night in destiny city, and beautiful nights meant more of the powered souls running around the city. She could feel the blinks of order, chaos, strong or weak all around the city. Her usual set up on the roofs was more intricate, laced with her special and NEW teaset. A blue and white China that she was unwrapping for the first time and neatly placed on a larger covered table. The view of the city was the best from this rooftop, with its green foliage and garden-esque background.
You'd think it stupid of her to bring something important and special but it was because they were important and special that she brought them. The people she shared tea with the most weren't her stuffed animals or parents, but the nightly patrollers that were out and about.
And she wanted a proper tea set as well as a proper and fancier tea blend to go with it. A rich peppermint tea was seeping into two cups, shipped to her from her grandparents along with the new teaset. The smell wafted from the rooftop to the air about and made her sincerely hope she would attract the attention of a powered soul who'd talk, not beat her up. It was a really fond hope.

The scent definitely attracted someone. Galena had been debating toeing the edge of her self imposed patrol limits in order to pursue it. Once she had gotten up the nerve, her rooftop approach only created more confusion. From the neighboring rooftop, it appeared to be a white moon senshi sitting down to tea. Not matcha in a thermos like Antiope, but a proper tea time.
She crossed the alleyway with an uncertain jump and took a moment to regain her bearings and smooth out her skirt before she began making careful strides towards Mintaka. Galena always made noted effort to move with grace and good posture, but she gave in to the urge to crane her neck just slightly in curiosity.
“You’ve set a lovely table,” She said, stopping at what she felt was a respectful distance and weaving her fingers together to let her hands rest at her waist. “But perhaps it would have been safer without your aura attracting attention?”
Just asking straightforwardly was too blunt, but damn this scene was weird. Pretty, but weird, and Galena had learned several times over that weird could mean very bad things in Destiny City.

Mintaka's head tilted at the voice, turning from her seat to smile politely at the negaverser. She set her tea cup down gently, without the sound of c***k of ceramic on each other, as doing so would ruin the set and stood. "Good evening." Mintaka courtesied, meeting Galena's proper posture with her own, her chin slightly a little more upturned because well...she was still a lady in training.
"Thank you for the compliment. A gift from my grandparents while they were away and something I thought I must absolutely set up tonight." Her hand fell to the edge of the chair, "I'm sorry! I actually use the aura to attract people here...not for nefarious purposes or anything like that." Mintaka kept her smile calm and cool, because it always seemed silly when she tried to explain her thinking.
"You see, I really enjoy tea. Talking as well. I don't like to fight, so I thought I'd combine the two and hope that if someone joins me, they would like to talk...and tea. That'd they like tea as well." She flushed just a little. "Would you like a cup of tea?"

It was terribly unladylike and it managed to break her ice queen mask, which was something not even Cinnabar's companionship had managed, but Galena clutched one hand to her chest with an audible noise followed by a sigh of relief.
She had repeated similar sentiments to allies and enemies alike for weeks on weeks and was only assured she was going to learn to fight. Mintaka was offering her like minded rhetoric and tea, and that was enough for Galena to recover whatever tranquility was lost by the fact she was a White Moon senshi.
Normally that was the only faction that set her on edge. So far the knights had been very kind, the Dark Mirror left her be and her own comrades of the Negaverse had been very supportive. Two different White Moon senshi had attempted to literally set her on fire, though, and one succeeded although the burn had healed enough she no longer favored one foot over the other.
"I would love a cup of tea," She breathed, even taking a grateful bow. "My name is Lieutenant Galena. If I may ask, what are you brewing? It smells like mint."

"An absolute pleasure Lieutenant Galena! I'm Mintaka, Senshi of Origami." Her smile was geniunie and soft as she moved over to pull a chair out for her guest. "Please take a seat! Your nose is good!" Her smile widened as she sat back down. "The second gift of my grandparents is a blend mint leaves, the instructions say to give it a little dash of lime, but I have cream if you'd prefer."
She reached to take a sip from her cup, watching Galena over her cup because the woman was absolutely breath taking and had the mannerisms of a well practiced Lady. It was as if Mintaka was looking at the future self she wanted to be.
"I have found that tea really brings people together.." Mintaka repeated, "And I'm pleased to see that you don't find a new to punch me in the face for being a white court senshi. It seems to be a popular sport to take in, punching of the faces. For all sides." She chuckled a little, "How has your evening been Lady Galena?"

Galena smoothed her skirt and took the offered cup with a small dip of her head in gratitude. "I prefer peppermint tea pure or with a dash of sugar. This is lovely, thank you. If I'm being honest, I am not a fan of mixing something so strong with menthol with dairy, a small personal preference."
She took a small sip and offered a small and restrained smile of approval.
"To that counterpoint I am pleased you have no felt any need to set me alight, as my history with the White Moon has seemed quite typical of." She pulled her cup away from her lips and delicately dabbed one finger tip against them, pulling it away and inspecting any disturbance of the carefully applied red lip color she sported.
"My evening has been quite pleasant, however, you are the only soul I have encountered tonight. Yourself, Miss Mintaka?"

"Understandable! I've found various sorts of ways that people enjoy their tea and it seems the most common is sweetening it with cream, but like you my lovely friend, am not a fan of dairy with mint." She waited, "Unless it is ice cream in which case, all ice creams are delicious."
She waited for Galena to take a sip, watching her face. At the smile, Mintaka's returned and she took a sip of her own tea, adjust herself so that she could look out at the city but still face Galena if she needed too.
"That's a shame really, but I can relate. Of the white court I've met so far, not many are fond of me as well. In particular, they aren't fond of anyone that questions their ideals." She said with a apologetic tone.
"Fantastic, I am pleased to know that I was the first soul for you tonight, hopefully I can start your evening on a good note." She paused, "Quite fantastic really, no complaints here. One night passing where I won't get hurt is a good night to me!" She paused, "Do you enjoy the work you do in the negaverse Galena?"

"Is there anyone who is fond of those who contradict their ideals?" Galena pondered. "What ideals does the White Court hold? You are here, are you not? In what way to your ideals differ from that of your organization?"
The White Moon was the opposition, she understood. Her recruiting had not been entirely wanted and seemed to be more of a game to the officer who had done the deed and corrupted her into their ranks. Why they were sent to fight White Moon senshi had never been explained in great detail, but there was some muttering about invaders and the Moon Queen. After her encounters with the likes of Draconis and Gunn on missions, it seemed to be good enough to justify her presence.
Mintaka's optimistic response to not getting hurt tonight was met with a demure smile tinged with sympathy, but Galena emoted in only subtle notes between sips of tea.
"I don't do much work," She admitted, trying to hide the disdain from her voice. "In many ways I am still in training, although sometimes I feel as though the patience of my superiors grows thin with my inabilities. I cannot bring myself to do battle as brutally as they indulge, and I am not sure I have the capability to even if I was so inclined. Energy gathering seems to be my forte and preference. Yourself? What are the duties of a White Moon senshi? Do you enjoy them?"

"Sometimes I would like to think so, that what makes the world a more interesting place to be. I suppose I would prefer that if conflict were to happen, it would be through words. Or resolved with words. Gotta keep mind sharp I suppose..." She laughed, "White court, from what I have seen and met, is the complete eradication of Chaos as a whole." She laced her hands, "And it is mostly through revenge, there is no goal. Senshi are loners, with no leadership but their own."
"Apparently there was a war started because the moon queen and earth prince fell in love and the moon queen was seen as invading. It happened in the past, so far in the past and yet it continues today?" Mintaka shook her head. "That's all I've learned though, and that comes from both Negaverse and White court. I've talked a lot to both sides."
She cocked her head, "That is not bad, but I guess coming from me, not so much help. After all, it's not me you want to impress." She meant it very politely and understanding, "I don't have any duties. I just....talk to everyone." She shrugged, "Like I said, for a court meant to be order, we aren't very orderly...."

"I see," Galena said with a nod and adjusted her cup. Her thoughts lingered on what she had been told about the senshi invading, about their dead homeworlds and how it was the Negaverse's job to eradicate them.
She was half tempted to ask Mintaka about her homeworld and the state of it, and if she had ever been there, and the lieutenant looked to her with feverish curiosity before looking back down into her tea, deciding it was gravely impolite.
She only sipped at the tea and kept her lips pressed closed instead.
"I hope you do not take offense, Miss Mintaka, but it does not sound very much like a court to me at all," She concluded after some pondering. "If it is not you who I should want to impress then whose eye would I strive for? I have found your company to be more agreeable than the majority of senshi I have met in the opposing court."
She finished off her tea and set the cup on the table, purposely positioning herself to that she mostly had her back to Mintaka.
"I have heard the story that senshi are invaders," She said finally. "It has always seemed very farfetched to me. When I joined the Negaverse it was in preservation of my own life. I am uncertain if I approve of either side of this war, but I do try my best to pick the option that will best lead to survival."
She made a short pivot turn on one heel to glance at her hostess with a faint hint of a smile on her lips. "So I am glad we have met under these circumstances rather than on opposite ends of a battlefield."

"If you have a question, you should just ask me?" Mintaka smiled as she noticed the burning look of curiousity in Galena's eyes. If Mintaka could share information, and if she had an answer for Galena, she was more then happy to share. Nothing too personal...well besides her civilian life but she was pretty good about not sharing that.
Besides, Merlinite was the only one of the negaverse who knew she was just a senior in high school. And he had taken it like a boot to the head, and was obligingly her older brother of the negaverse whether he liked it or not.
"Negaverse seems to be playing the side very well." She nodded, "My kind, as we are referred too, are called terrorist and invaders. It's kind of sad, I didn't even know I was a senshi till I was awakened....otherwise I was just a normal girl, going to a normal high school. Part of earth." She shrugged, "This is my home, even if I have a-" She brought her fingers up, "Homeworld."
She set her cup down as Galena voiced her sentiments, agreeing with her completely. "I'm always grateful to meet someone like yourself. For a moment I thought you might be like Merlinite, and though I am fond of him, he has...his moments...."

"I see," Galena said, pausing in her motions. She filed the information away for later, considering the fact that the senshi started out as typical people interesting. Asher had said there was no recruiting process, that it was a trait they were born into. There were a lot of flaws in what she had been told by her own side, assuming Mintaka was truthful.
But she knew that was something of a big assumption.
"I was curious about your... homeworld," She said, mimicking Mintaka's hesitation. "Have you seen it, then? If your origins are here on earth? What is it that makes it yours?"
Her skin suddenly crawled at the mention of Merlinite and while Galena very obviously did her best to keep her emotions under control, her eyes suddenly burned and her nostrils flared.
"Oh. Him."
It would have been impolite to articulate further thoughts.

Mintaka had known at least, that she was offering the knowledge the origami senshi knew 1000% truthful. By her standards though. As far as Mintaka knew, Senshi weren't recruited or turned. They just...were.
"I don't mind telling you!" Mintaka smiled, "You aren't the first to wonder about it, and of course, it is out of a yearn for knowledge that if you ever wish it, I can take you to visit my homeworld! I've offered Zinkenite too, for the information he gave me." She hummed thoughtfully and then squinted.
"If I was to put in words? There is a connection I suppose, A...memory of where the power I have now originates? My homeworld? It's a forest of bamboo and ruins of a civilization from way before our times. 1000 of years you see. But I go to my home planet, and sometimes I see past memories of a the Mintaka before. It's hard to explain..." She shrugged..."My planet seems to restore itself now that I am active. But that's nothing I am concerned for? If I want, I can go to my planet, but I don't feel anything lingering there, or anything I really want to connect with."
She blinked, then laughed, honestly and truthfully laughed.
"Not fond of Merlinite are you?" She waved her hand, "I can understand, he does have a certain...thing...about himself. He's like a annoying older brother."

"Your power originates from the world..." Galena didn't say it so much as a question as she was just repeating what she'd been told, but in a wistful attempt to understand. It brought more questions than answers, but questions she didn't think Mintaka could answer.
If knights drew their power from wonders and Senshi from their worlds, where was Galena's power coming from when she didn't have either of these things? The organization itself was not a source, but rather the structure built around one that had to exist but was never fully explained to her.
She furrowed her brow in thought, but seemed to tense up at the mention of Merlinite.
"He is my superior officer I have had the pleasure of encountering multiple times," She said with restraint that bordering on a weird intensity. "To speak ill of him would be direly improper."
