Mintaka's patrols were quite uneventful in the terms of battles, but in meeting people well? She hadn't really NOT met people. In fact, it seemed the more she went out, the more new people she met. She was gradually meeting more of the white court, in the terms of Goretti and a couple of others.
And the Dark Mirror court was never shy in talking to her either. Canopus and Chariklo were dear friends to her. Even the nega's seemed to want to talk to her. She laughed, because it just seemed so silly that she went around TALKING to everyone.
She just wanted to keep meeting more and more people, learn about everything and anything. More order people, more knights like Nysa or Senshi like Pen. Maybe that's why she went to patrol, to meet people instead of fighting things.
Whoops, spoke too soon as a youma jumped her. She made a loud scream out of reflex as it took her to the ground. xxxxKyuseisha no Hikari Hey you know that rp that i was suppose to start yesterday....

Arias had not been powered up when he heard the scream, but he had certainly not stayed powered down after it. He had been out, taking a walk--a normal, after work walk to reacquaint himself with the outdoors. He hadn't even really been thinking of powering up tonight, but now he couldn't avoid it. Immediately after donning the garb of Newgrange, he bolted towards the sound.
There was a Senshi aura, but he wasn't going to relax until he knew that she wasn't in trouble. It took less than a minute to find her; he appeared behind her and held out a hand, eyes on the youma to make sure it didn't try to jump them while they were distracted. "Are you all right?" He asked, trying to assess if this youma was something they ought to be scared of--or if it was like the last youma he had encountered: a pudgy slug youma that oozed around and fell asleep in odd places at odd times.

Mintaka had gotten a good kick in at the youma, and though she felt the aura of order coming towards her, reacted out of pure fear. Her arms spread out before she even got a look at the guy as her super senshi attack.
"Origami flurry redux*..." She squeaked, pushing who she thought was the Youma into the wall as if to end him..
It was actually Newgrange. "Ah...ah oh dear. I am so sorry." She apologized as the paper shapes fell, starting lightly until they blanketed the surroundings around them. "D...Don't move yet, It'll end soon." She hadn't gotten a look at the Youma, and looked to the wall. She had been jumped, acted in fear, she wasn't really alright and was ashamed that Newgrange, this new knight she had never met before had seen her act so childishly. She could at least protect him from her own attack. Once the cranes stopped falling, she pulled back and looked over her shoulder. Her attack was useless in the fact of actual attacking, so the Youma still being there shouldn't have shocked her.
Unfortunately it wasn't a fat blob, thin and willowy with claws and a hungry look into it's eyes. It reached for them and had Mintaka backing away. Stupid, weak. One attack from them and she was suddenly a coward. Or was it because she had been taken by surprise and reacted so unladylike by it?[[ Super Sailor Scout Attack: Origami Flurry Redux With the upgrade, she can now summon 500 Cranes, Stars and Flowers in her flurry. This attack last up to 30 seconds, though the same effects still arise. Blinding is still the main idea but the amount of damage from paper cuts have increased. Newgrange had absolutely not been expecting the cranes but froze at her instructions. "That's... Impressive," he said, just as the attack faded. He had no magic himself and might have though just about anything would have been more helpful to him; he had his fists and that was about it. Well, that and whatever was lying around.
Which, right now, it would have been incredibly useful to have something lying around. Some branches weren't going to do much bu he toed at one resting on the ground near to his foot before he slowly crouched and picked it up. It didn't look incredibly sturdy or like it was really even capable of doing much damage, but...
Every little thing was important in a battle. "I, ah...don't suppose you've got an idea for knocking this thing out or any magic to help get rid of it, do you? Or are we going to have to get...a little physical?"
Or a lot?
That thing didn't look like it was going to go down quickly...or easily.
But Newgrange didn't seem to care. He neither judged Mintaka nor seemed to think about her poorly; he didn't want to leave her here and risk unnecessary harm. But...that youma looked like it could hurt.
He cleared his throat and cast a quick look at her. "...Unless you think it might be best to get some help first?"

"Impressive for getting away..." A small part of her really apperciated the compliment, the other part wished it did something MORE so they wouldn't be facing a youma. She moved to his side, looking at the Youma that was circling..no prowling? Like Scar from Lion King, watching them carefully. It was very unnerving since Mintaka never really face a youma that was so...predator like.
"The smart thing to do..." She whispered, "Is to run. My magic is only good for getting away, and I don't think I'm strong enough to...punch his lights out." She hissed, "Unless you are, which wow, that'd be amazing." But she was looking down at his branch. "Y...You are a page right? You're more at risk then I am right?" She moved instinctively in front of him a little, drawing the Youma's attention back to her. "I'll draw it away. You can get help or...or escape. As long as your safe." It wasn't that Mintaka was a matyr or whatever, but it seemed more rational to send Newgrange to escape or get help since he was the weaker of the two. She could take more blows then him, if it came down to it.....
Just not the face, she pleaded to any deity in the universe. Just don't ruin her face.

Newgrange sucked in a breath and wished he could have told her that he could have done some serious damage to the youma; he wished he could have told her that he was confident enough to take this thing on, but he wasn't stupid—or cocky.
But he wasn't the sort to just leave her there to fend for herself.
"I'm a page, but I'll be fine. I promise. I'm sturdy, so you don't have to worry about me. I'd get help but…to be honest, I don't really know who I'd call. And it doesn't really feel like anyone else is in the area, so…I guess you're stuck with me. But this is no big deal, right? Just a youma. I'm sure we'll be fine."
He flashed her a quick smile, hoping to reassure that this wasn't something he was worried about…even if he was just a bundle of nerves inside.
"…Besides, better that we deal with it than let it hurt someone else, right? Let's just try our hardest and if it's too rough, we'll do a tactical retreat and come back for round two, right?" he asked, focusing his attention back on the youma. He gripped the branch more and stood up a bit straighter; he was either preparing for a blow, or…
Preparing to attack.

It'd be probably better if Newgrange had. Because Mintaka was the type to run if she was feeling overwhelmed. Already she was thinking of some way to get the two out of there, but it meant leaving a youma to wander free, and she wasn't quite happy with that idea. Not even a little bit. Especially with the way this one prowled.
"Not stuck." She sighed, "I'm more then grateful you are even here, just sad at the lack of my inability to do-" Her gaze went from his face to behind him where emergency stairs for the building laid. Maybe... "Behind us. Do you think we could use them for a weapon?" Meaning she wanted to use the ladder that was attached at the higher then them, but bottom of the emergency stairs as a weapon. It mean drawing the youma directly under the ladder with someone being bait, while the other waited at the top. And they had to do it quickly before the youma even knew what would happen. "We've just met, but do you trust me? I have a plan, and I think it will greatly benefit us if we work together?" She flashed him a quick smile. "I was told once that using the surroundings is the best weapon we have." And if all else failed, they could escape using the same stairs.
As quickly as she could, she relayed the plan to him. "Stairs, drop the ladder. I'll be the bait, so I need you to get up there as quick as you can. I can only distract it for a little, then I'll draw it close and you can drop it on the thing." She breathed out, "Ready?" She couldn't wait for a response as the Youma attacked.

Newgrange did not have time to argue, and even if he did like the idea of using her for bait, her plan...was the best one they had. And even if they had just met? He trusted her. He just hoped he wouldn't let her down.
He bolted to the ladder, grabbing onto the side and springing up several bars at a time. He wasn't wry careful but that didn't seem to bite him in the a**--tonight. He reached the platform and pulled the ladder up as quickly and quietly as he could; he didn't want to ruin Mintaka's plan by attracting its attention while she was working so hard to keep its focus. He was reluctant to call out and let her know that he had finished, so instead he waited, holding his breath.
He hoped she was more aware of her surroundings than the youma was; he was primed and ready to do whatever he could. Just as long as poor Mintaka could hold up as bait and get the youma close enough for him to strike.

They didn't even get a chance to say break, Man she really wanted to do that once in her lifetime. It was something a Lady never did, then again ladies didn't go about being bait (intentionally). She felt the swipe of its claws at her arm, sending her stumbling away from Newgrange and holding her hand against the deeper then scratches on her arms.
"You know it's really rude to interuppt a lady in the middle of a plan." She looked at the Youma, moving around it and bringing her leg up in a sort of roundhouse...kick thing. She saw Antiope do it once, and managed to get a good kick at the youma. She couldn't use her hands now that she was holding the wound.
She let herself one brief look at the stairs where Newgrange was, and thank goodness for the Knight as he remained calm and collected, she could see his hands held the ladder up, waiting for her to get the target in place.
"Coming~" She tried to say cheerfully, drawing the youma closer and closer until it was right under the ladder. No time now, she'd move right as it was dropped..."NOW!" She yelled, turning her body to dive away from the Youma and falling ladder.

Newgrange did not simply drop the ladder--he slammed it down, right when the youma was beneath it. He used all the force he could muster, and beyond just the initial impact, he held it there, trying to keep it trapped beneath the ladder. He was unaware if Mintaka was hurt, but he knew that if the ladder didn't knock the youma out, at least he could try to hold it there so she could get in the finishing blow.
Judging by the yowl of pain from down below, Newgrange assumed the creature was not yet dusted, but he couldn't see just how close it was.
The ladder had hit spot on--pinching at the nerves on the youma's neck. It was dizzy and in pain but it thrashed and tried to claw at the ground, the ladder--and Mintaka. It's movements, though erratic and desperate, we're every bit as dangerous as the calculated slashes--only now, they had the upper hand.
Newgrange continued to grip the ladder, shoving as much as he could. He didn't think he had the strength alone to break its neck (did that even work on a youma?) but he was sure as hell going to try.
"Can you hit it?" He called, planting his feet more firmly as the youma's thrashing tried to pull the ladder from his grip.

Mintaka was groaning slightly in pain as she held the injury on her arm, and she was pretty sure gravel was embedded in the wound thanks to her rolling out of the way. Lovely.
She got up, looking at the trapped beast and flinching back as it made it's desperate attempts at furthering injuries on her. Newgrange had it stuck pretty well, and though she loathed to do it, she brought back her fist, squarely hitting the youma in the face with enough of her senshi strength and watched as it crumbled away into black flakes of chaos energy.
"Hit it..." She sunk to her knee's, gripping her arm and staring up at the night over her. "Hit it...." She half chuckled, half cracked a sob. She just needed a moment, and she'd pull it all together. "You were great, you did so well. Thank you so much." She tried to praise him, she was trying to a little. "I don't even know your name, but I owe you so much. Thank you for coming."

Newgrange's eyes were wide with concern long before he hit the ground; with the youma dusted, he gripped onto the ladder and dropped down, moving hastily to Mintaka's side. "Newgrange," he introduced quickly, though names were the last thing in his mind. "It hurt you--are you all right?"
She didn't look all right...
He reached a hand down to help her up and tried to look more reassuring than worried. "I have a place nearby, if you want to power down, I can wrap that up, we can get some painkillers and relax for a bit--or I can get you to the hospital if you need."
He seemed to want to help but was reluctant to push her into anything, and while he praise had been sweet, he couldn't fully appreciate it knowing she was hurt. "I mean, it's the least I could do, you're a really brave girl. Destiny City is lucky to have someone like you looking after it."

"Oh...A pleasure Newgrange, I'm Mintaka, senshi of origami." She added as he dropped down to her, and his concern was voiced. she only blinked as she brought a gloved hand up to the cuts on her arm, just touching it hurt like hell. She didn't have a problem with it in her powered form but if she went home in her civilian form with the wound, questions would be raised, and her activities at night under scrutiny.
She was just a little more paler, she felt, just a little more tired then she thought. "No...No hospital." She gritted her teeth. She was underage and they'd ask for her parents, and that was not okay. But to force her company on Newgrange, and in her civilian form? "Sorry, Fear of them and such." That was a lie but easier then saying she was underaged teenager running around.
His own compliments made her smile and helped her decide the next course as she powered down, Mintaka's pristine uniform was replaced with Fai's reserved blouse tucked into shorts, her soft white hair pulled back into a ponytail. Her hand came up to the sleeve where blood seeped through and sighed.
"My name is Failyn Namgung." She gave him an off smile. "If you don't mind helping me get cleaned up and wrapped, i'd be indebted to you twice over. But if you have tea and food instead of painkillers?" She cocked her head, "I think the pain is only worsened by no calories to help?" She looked around the alley, "I'm in your hands Newgrange."

Newgrange nodded and almost immediately after she powered down, he did the same. "No debt," he insisted. "I'm Arias Hunter. It's a pleasure to meet you, Failyn. I mean, I wish it had been under better circumstances, but…" He gave her a sympathetic look when his eyes landed on the blood-soaked shirt. "It's absolutely no problem to get you cleaned up. And if you want tea, I can brew you some. Or hot chocolate. Or anything you can think of. I'm sure I've got some food lying around," he said, wishing that he had a better mode of transportation than just walking.
If there was something he could be grateful for, it was that his bakery wasn't so very far away.
"If you can make it just a few blocks, you can rest. I promise you're in good hands."
He hoped.
Taking the opportunity to ensure that there were no more dangers—no youma, or hiding Negaverse agents, or anyone spying—he promptly began to lead the way. He didn't want to keep Failyn out any longer than absolutely necessary—and the faster they got to the bakery, the faster they'd be able to relax.
