The username was the run of the mill sorts, the kind one would expect from a conspiracy theorist nutjob with a Youtube account. Foilcap42 had posted a video earlier in the day, with no explanation of how this video was obtained and with a brief but cryptic message, and whoever this Foilcap42 really was, they were wise to disable the comments in the video. The message left on the video was no more than a sentence long, but it was certain to leave an impact to all who watched it, knowing it would have been the perfect bait for views and Tumblr and Twitter discussions for him, or her, to scour for later. For now, there was no need for a lengthy description, only a single sentence that read “this video speaks for itself.”

Quote:
The video quality isn’t all that great and it’s clear that whoever took the time to set up the video couldn’t afford or shell out for a separate microphone, but thankfully, he managed to lean close enough to the computer so that he could be heard. The one on the screen was a young man, bright green eyes and blonde hair, though the most notable feature was his mustache, as they were twin slivers that outlined his mouth. A laughable appearance, but there was no joy or mirth on his face, only a serious expression. A tired expression. To match the tiredness of his voice, but there was still conviction there as he spoke.

“I’m Scott Erlea, and I have a confession to make… I haven’t been completely truthful with you, and I’m sorry for lying to you, but… trust me when I saw it’s for the best. I’m not actually going to France, as I’m sure you’ve already figured out. I mean, really, who would be desperate enough to think that I’d be accepted at a college OVERSEAS. Uh… sorry, if you thought I was implying you were desperate, Mom and Dad. But… here’s the truth. About two years ago, I was confronted by an organization, the one that some of you might know is the Negaverse. I was told that there was a war going on in the city, and that they needed all the help they could get to repel a great evil, the Moon Queen and her invaders. The senshi… of the White Moon Court.

I was told that they were evil. They had plans on invading Earth and conquering it for their Queen, and you know, I believed them. For a long time, I really believed them. I joined and I took on a different name, with powers and abilities to protect this city and Earth. Turns out I was a senshi too, but I was one of their senshi, so that was okay. Except… it wasn’t.

The Negaverse was wrong about the Moon Queen. They claimed she tried to take over the Earth centuries or whatever ago, but I’ve spoken with the White Moon members, and none of them could confirm that. Yes, I know, they could have lied, you’re thinking, but I’ve talked with them, and… they’re not evil. There might be some darker ones in their ranks, but either they don’t exist or they’re no longer a part of that court. I suspect they gave in to the darkness that was already in their hearts and switched sides, either part of the Dark Mirror Court or puppets of the Negaverse.

When I was- heh, sorry, I am, since I’m still part of them for a little while longer- when I’m part of the Negaverse, I feel as though I was tricked, that instead of enlightening me they only shared their fears and paranoias and placed them onto me, and that turned me into… well… their puppet. Their dog on a leash. Their monster. I know I shouldn’t beat myself up and maybe the dark deeds I’ve done are nothing compared to others that welcomed the chaos into them, but… there’s still blood on my hands, and there’s always a guillotine in the corner of my eyes. I was told that if I failed, then there would be consequences. If those consequences were just against me, fine, I was the idiot that believed the rambling of what I now know as an insane cat… but it wasn’t just that.”

He paused, glancing around, as if he had heard a noise or a voice, and after confirming that he was the only one conscious or there in the dark room he was in, the speaker, Scott, continued. “Your lives were threatened, too. If I failed or disappointed her, then she’d hurt you too, and I couldn’t risk that. So I continued fighting. I continued doing their bidding, because I didn’t want anything to happen to you guys. I love you all so much and so I used that as my fuel, but… it couldn’t block out the fact that what I was doing, what the whole NEGAVERSE is doing is wrong.

“The Negaverse is the real evil… okay, maybe that’s not all true. There are some good individuals in the Negaverse and maybe they really believe they’re doing what’s right for Destiny City, but they’re just puppets. They’re just being used, lied too… maybe they’re being threatened by the Negaverse or maybe they feel threatened by the White Moon Court, but I know the Senshi aren’t evil. There’s some that have been trying to help me, even before I realized what I had become… and I regret not listening to them back then. Had I listened, maybe… I could have prevented this. Had I not been taken in by the Negaverse’s lies, maybe you would have never been put in harm’s way. I’m sorry… I lied to you and put you all in harm’s way, and I know… you guys would never want me to become a burden, to me or to anyone…

“But you won’t be a burden anymore. Maybe it’s selfish of me, maybe it’s cowardly of me, but I’ve been talking to the senshi and knights, especially these last few months, and I’ve decided that the only way to keep you all safe is by switching sides. Don’t worry- you’ll be safe. I have a plan… maybe not the best of plans and maybe you won’t like them, but plans. You’ll be safe, but the cost of it is that… I’ll no longer be a part of your lives.”

Again, he grew silent, but it didn’t last long. He was smiling, but it wasn’t a broken one like earlier. It was genuine, rare, shining in the darkness and perhaps adding a creepiness factor to his confessional, but he didn’t care. He was too happy to care.

“After the 27th, Scott Erlea will be no more. I’m giving up my life with you and with everyone I knew, so that I can go over to the White Moon Court, to the side I truly belong, so that I can fight to defeat the evil that plagues the Negaverse with as clear of a conscious as possible. You might think it’s selfish- I know my brothers will- but I do it because I love all of you and I can’t stand the thought of your lives hanging in the balance because of me. You’ll be safe. I won’t know it because I will no longer be me, but you’ll be safe, because I trust the White Moon Court. I trust the senshi, and the knights, all of them. I’m just going to ask that you understand… you don’t have to like it, or even like me, but I love you. All of you. I’m sorry it had to be this way, but maybe… maybe once this war’s over, maybe I can… you know what, don’t worry about it. I can’t make that promise, but I will promise you that I will fight the good fight. Even if Scott Erlea dies that night, he did it because he loved you with all of his heart and he’ll be happy to know… I’ll… be happy to know that you’re all in a better place. Just promise me you’ll never give in to the Negaverse and their lies. Keep yourselves safe.”

It looked like that was the end, but then, without warning, the man sitting in front of the video changed. He had been holding onto something off screen and he muttered a phrase, and now, sitting in front of the monitor was a senshi, donning black and yellow uniform and a bright, multi-colored visor that glistened in the dim computer light. The figure smiled, still, just like Scott’s had.

“I’m Eternal Sailor Vespa, soon to be former Negaverse senshi of Wasps… and if you see me out there, though in a different color scheme, you know, more white I hope, then you’ll know that Scott’s sacrifice wasn’t in vain. I’m Vespa, the senshi of Wasps, and I just want to say thank you… for everything. Don’t approach me, if you ever see me- I won’t remember you, but know that I’ll be protecting you and the rest of the city from the evil that controls the Negaverse. That’s my duty now. To protect and save Destiny City. I love you, and… good bye. Forever.”

Then, the video ends.

Foilcap42 was pleased with what was posted, but it was short lived. Thirty minutes later, Foilcap42 received a message, and to his, or her, surprise, the Youtube admins had removed the video. Apparently there was something visible in the background that had violated copyright protection and the video was requested for immediate removal, with a warning to never post the video again.

For a conspiracy theorist nut, this was all the proof that was needed that something wasn’t right! It would be unknown if he, or she, would ever post the video again, or if anyone had even seen the video at all, but only time could tell. Why did Foilcap42 decide to wait until August 27th to post this video, perhaps it would forever be a mystery, because the account was banned shortly after…
