"The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first..."
PostPosted: Wed Aug 27, 2014 12:17 am

The arena lights turn off, except for a few of them going to a strobe effect as the opening of Head Like a Hole by AFI starts up. Xavier X walks his way out of the curtain with the usual bounce in his step as he got to the center of the stage as the crowd starts to rise to their feet, giving their usual big reaction towards him. He stood as the theme goes into the pause. During the pause Xavier X raises his arm into the X, roaring out to the audience as the sides of the stage shoot out pyro, the crowd giving another reaction to it. Xavier drops his arms down and starts to walk down to the ring.

Xavier got to the steel steps, got to the apron and stepped through the ropes. X walked to the camera side and raised up the X once more, before backing to the side opposite of the ramp. After the theme died down Xavier backed to the ropes opposite the ramp and took his tank top off and tossed it to the crowd.

As said in an earlier vignette, a new Jake Roman was ready to unfold or evolve tonight. Not because this was Bad Blood Wrestling's one-year anniversary show, but because he had just had his heart ripped from his chest after losing such a close series with a man he had grown to resent, Aiden Covell. Five weeks in the making of clawing and biting towards the top to prove himself, and it had all been for nothing except a nomination for match of the year. But what fans didn't realize, was that in such a closely-contested match, the pain that came with being on the losing side had left an impact on Jake Roman that could not be quenched by exhibition matches. The loss at Solar Slam was devastating to his psyche, to say the least. He could not expect to do the same things over and over while expecting different results; he might have been a bit crazy, but not to that extent. Change was inevitable if Jake was going to be recognized as an established victor, one who walked away from wars and didn't have the bitter taste in his mouth to ever look back. Xavier X would learn; everybody would in due time. After Xavier's entrance, the lights went completely black, something that wasn't accredited to Roman's entrance. The music was completely different, too. After copyright issues thanks to his original "Immigrant Song" by Led Zeppelin, he had to replace it with something new. That song also played before his inevitable defeat to the hands (and feet) of Aiden Covell. Jake Roman's battle cry wouldn't be to a losing effort. How bittersweet his former theme songs had left him. It only increased the big man's stress levels. Even the appreciate cheers of the fans around him couldn't put the man's woes to rest. He expected them to cheer. He was Jake Roman, after all.

What's that metronome I hear?
Perhaps the end is drawing near.
You never hear the shot that takes you down...
Now your dreams a memory,
And seems more true from far away.
Just like smoke that fades and makes no sound...

The lights came back on to their typical settings, and in perfect synchronization, Jake began his strut. There was an extra pip in his step of cockiness or just a bit more confidence than he had displayed before. As much as his loss hurt, he figured people saw him as a big deal for the beating Aiden went through as well. But Jake's nose was taped from last night; the amount of punishment given to his face from his most recent bout had warranted that. With daggers shooting through his lenses and eager adrenalin pulsing through his veins, Jake marched down the ramp. This time, the hands of fans excited to congratulate him on putting on a "great effort" last night weren't met. The focus was kept on the breathing victim in his way on his path towards personal redemption and glory that he had wanted so much of.

"And his opponent, from St. Louis, Missouri! Weighing in at two hundred seventy pounds... JAKE, ROHHHHHH-MANNN!"

Jake didn't stop at the foot of the ramp; instead, he slowed his pace and circled the ring towards his right, keeping his attention on the high flyer in the ring. He had a similar style to Aiden, one of those vanilla midgets that could do flips with ease, voluntarily and involuntarily. Once he reached the side facing the camera, it was only fitting Jake would pull himself onto the apron and walk towards the middle of it. After he decided to stop staring the smaller man down, the Kid looked towards the camera and shook his head with an incredibly cocky smirk. It was to signify he didn't think Xavier had a chance. Where did all this pretentious behavior come from? It wasn't as if Jake had shown these traits before. Perhaps he convinced himself losing that series was a fluke, and he wouldn't fall victim to any miracle like that ever again. He swung his leg over the middle rope before climbing into the ring and walking toward the opposite set of ropes. Momentarily, Jake crossed his forearms in an 'X' with his hands flat before quickly throwing them down. Not only was it his trademark of showing that the his opponent's wrestling journey would turn an interesting corner, it was also symbolic for how he would break Xavier X down. His music faded into obscurity once he took his jacket and shades off, handing them to the timekeeper without minding him much attention. Roman would then pace back and forth between the ropes, keeping his focus on Xavier. No more Mr. Nice Guy. It wasn't getting him anywhere and hopefully that surprise would earn him a redeeming victory tonight.

Xavier stood across the ring from Jake Roman. Thus far he's gone through with an impressive Best of 7 Series with Aiden Covell. Thus far it is noted that he can keep patience and can scout an opponent like the best of them. The bell sounding to start the match, Xavier moved around circling Jake Roman, not wanting to make a mistake.

There wasn't a chance Jake would let himself fall victim to speedy feet once again. He had to be the aggressor in order to keep Xavier grounded. He slowly moved towards his adversary, raising his arm and wiggling his fingers in the air in order to signal for a test of strength. If Xavier obliged and inched near his reach, Jake would try to sneak under his extended arm and go for a waist lock on the high-flyer.

Xavier saw the hands go up, and thinking of possible ways to use this to his advantage. Unfortunately as he moved his hands up for the Test of Strength, Jake's quick movement and being a better technical wrestler than Xavier, the waist lock was wrapped in on Xavier. The only thing Xavier would try to do is push Jake's hand off him, hoping to loosen the grasp.

As Xavier tried to slide his hands in-between his waist and Jake's grasp, the Kid kept focus on not only his opponent, but his primal instincts. Don't give him an opportunity to get out of this. Jake went to lift Mr. X up into the air and throw him back down belly first. If successful, he's release the waist lock and go for a side headlock on the downed aerialist. Again, he had to keep his agile opponent downed in order to keep Xavier from utilizing his innovative, high-impact moves.

Getting picked up, turned and dropped right onto his face, Xavier didn't have any time to react as he bounced off the canvas, he immediately was pushed down by the side headlock of Jake Roman. Being stuck in the hold, Xavier kicked the mat in the frustration, trying to think of a way to get out of the hold.

Looking to show his myriad of ways to convey his mat dominance, Jake looked to slide over Xavier's back, pull the high-flyer by the chin to have his back touch the mat, and get him in a side chin lock. It was natural to try to keep the Oakland native off of his feet, as a previous aerialist had destroyed the Kid with his boots the show before. He had to approach matches like these differently.

Xavier felt Roman go over his back, and tried to push himself up to his feet, until he was pulled back by the chin, but went to use his momentum to try to pull his legs up and wrap them around Roman's head, in a type of head scissors to try to get a release.

Roman wasn't agile to leap to his feet like a retired Heartbreak Kid. But being able to make the motions with his legs would loosen the head scissors and have him turn his head to slide out of the grip. When he stood up, Jake would look to go for a somewhat short-distanced clothesline to send Xavier back to his feet.

Xavier turned over to snap himself back up to his feet and ducked the Clothesline at the last second, looking to hit a Spin Back Kick to the back of his head.

"Thrown off by the elusive little man" was the fragment that essentially defined Jake Roman's career up to this point. The kick created a flashing sensation in his vision that was followed up by him being caught up in the middle rope by his neck. Rey Mysterio would capitalize on this, but surely Xavier X was much more of an athlete than the man with no knees. How would the X-Rated Extremist exemplify his excellent abilities?

Xavier hit back first to the mat, rolling to his knees, seeing that Jake Roman was neck first on the middle rope. Fortunately for Xavier, he still had the use of his right kneeeeeeeeeee. Xavier run to Jake, looking to jump over the ropes, turn his body in mid air and catch his leg across the back of Jake's head, looking for a modified Guillotine Leg Drop.

The incredibly innovative maneuver proceeded to make Jake's throat gag from the lack of oxygen he had for a brief moment. The back of his head also began to throb from not only the spin kick, but the wonderfully-executed leg drop. Jake fell backwards immediately and held onto his neck with both hands, coughing violently. He rolled on his side, continuing to cough from Xavier's wild offence.
