Finley was nervous. Not a whole lot, but just a bit. The poster she'd put up in the Mist Lounge had actually paid off, and after a quick text exchange (during which she'd heavily censored her rambling, reading and re-reading and re-re-reading texts before sending them off - just to make sure she didn't seem extra weird in them or anything) here she was, waiting at one of the training grounds for her sparring partner of the day. Who was a fellow Mist. Which probably meant that the person was utterly fantastic, but somehow her nerves were acting up anyhow. Maybe it was because she was meeting up with someone she'd never met before; the feeling, she thought, was probably akin to waiting for a blind date to arrive. Just, you know, without the whole 'date' aspect to it. Either way, Finley shifted on her feet, fiddling anxiously with the slave bracelet that Zayde's de-summoned form. Any minute now her partner would arrive, she was sure.

Nellie needed to get stronger and more adept at wielding Niflheim so that they would all be fine whenever they needed to fight.
That was the recurring litany that Niffy had been going on and on about as of late in Nellie's mind. Even more so than ever after she per chance came across a poster in the Mist lounge from another Mist trainee who was looking for a sparring partner. Niffy had initially allowed her to get away with putting off texting Finley for a few days and then taking to harassing her incessantly until she finally caved on the condition that he helped look through the texts she typed before sending them.
The other Mist huntress had seemed nice enough over the texts they had exchanged. That plus the amount of time she had been spending on Twitter exchanging tweets with the other Hunters these days kind of helped to allay her fears and nervousness some though she could feel them returning in full force now that the day had come for the both of them to meet face to face for the prearranged sparring session minus the anonymity that came with text messaging.
Niffy reassured, a comforting presence in her mind that Nellie couldn't help but cling desperately onto as she made her way across the training ground towards the other female who was already there and waiting. "... um... Finley?"
It wasn't the most eloquent way of approaching someone but it would certainly have to do for a start.

Oh wow, Nellie was super pale! Finley blinked slowly, staring at the other girl for a long second before breaking into a huge smile, "Nellie! Yes?" Head cocked slightly to the side, she squinted at the newcomer who might or might not be Nellie (not yet confirmed either way), "or did I get that wrong and you're actually just some random person who happens to know my name and where to find me? Although I guess finding me might be a coincidence. But knowing my name can't be, can it?" Okay, she might be slightly rambling. And getting off track in any case, as a mental nudge from Zayde reminded her. "Oh! I forgot to say, yes, I'm Finley. Lovely to meet you, whoever you might be!" Her hands were slightly sweaty, but a quick rub on her coat and that was fixed. :: Now you just need to fix the verbal diarrhea, :: her weapon added dryly. :: Who knows, maybe you'd even be able to pass for confident. ::

Smiling likewise at the sight of the huge smile that Finley was greeting her with, Nellie nodded quickly a few times. "Yes. This is Nellie." Niffy was right. It was apparent that the other Mist was at least equally, if not even more, nervous about this meet-up compared to her.
< Didn't I already told you so? >
Nellie nodded again, grinning now at Niflheim's words as she stretched a hand out to Finley. "Nellie's pleased to meet Finley too. Has Finley ever done this before?"

Oh thank god she'd just wiped the sweat off of her hands; with a beam, Finley grasped Nellie's hand and gave it a few shakes. "Ah, sparring? I've sparred before! But I've never solicited someone by poster for it before, if that's what you're thinking of." Finally she let go of the other girl's hand, "I'm a bit nervous to be honest. You might've been able to tell." Laughing slightly, she wiped her hands on her coat once again; as they say, if you can't play it cool, at least play it honest! No? Okay, maybe that was just her. "Have you sparred before?"

"Nellie was actually referring to sparring." Nellie confessed sheepishly, giving Finley's hand a small squeeze before releasing it as well. "Nellie's kind of nervous too but Nellie's glad that Nellie and Finley are finally able to meet in person." She shared, seeing no harm in doing likewise given that the other Mist was being upfront and honest with her about her feelings on the meet-up and all.
"Not really. So what are Nellie and Finley supposed to do? How long has Finley been around for?" She asked after quickly shaking her head in response to Finley's question with regards to her prior experience in sparring.

"Me too!" Okay, so at least it wasn't just her being nervous. That calmed her nerves some, and Finley sent the other girl an encouraging smile. Well, it was supposed to be an encouraging smile, but maybe it was just a bit tinged by nervousness still. Oh, she'd have to explain sparring then. Rocking back on the balls of her feet, she thought for a moment before speaking, "well, first we start by deciding who goes first. I don't mind if you start! And then we just, fight?" She looked a bit quizzical. "Oh, and we can set limitations too, like no charged attacks or I don't know, stuff like that." As for how long she'd been here, well, "I haven't been here long at all, so I'm probably not the most experienced." Her smile was sheepish. "But I'm sure between the two of us we can figure it out!"
