With the change of templates, we understand everyone is eager to get recolors of their pets. You may post as many characters as you'd like to have recolored in this thread, but please house them all in one post. Colorists will pick from posted pets at their leisure. Keep in mind that Shaoilin produced hundreds of wolves and familiars over the years, and that recoloring every single pet would be completely unreasonable, given staff is also tasked with breedings, customs, RP events, and their own real life responsibilities. Therefore, some pets may never be recolored. In addition, rules have changed to adapt to a the new world's realistic setting and return to Shaoilin's founding roots. Please be sure to read these and everything else in this post before requesting a recolor.
Recolors are currently free due to a generous donation. Please read the rules before you post.::Rules:: All recolor requests must be for adults. You will not receive recolors for adolescent or baby stages.
Post all the characters you'd like recolored in a single post regardless of who colored them, if they have edits, or if you add them in at a later date.
You may post familiars for recolor. However, at this time only bear and crow templates are completed. We will inform you as other templates are finished and available for recolor.
For wolves without packs, you may choose lone or vagabond or pack ranks beta, gamma, and omega. These are allowed because they are often allowed in multiple types of pack ranks and it helps us from having to recolor new ranks quite as often.
If your wolf is in a pack, please see that pack's information to find the lines on which your wolf should be colored.
You may have a wolf recolored on alpha only if they are a current alpha of an approved pack. If you previously had a wolf on alpha lines but they are no longer in charge of a pack or the pack has been dismantled, they must be colored on a different set of lines.
If your wolf was originally on seer/shaman lines, they will once again be on seer or shaman lines. You may not post a non-seer or non-shaman for either of these lines.
According to the new rules, pets exhibiting product logos, human-like clothing markings, detailed faces (whether human or animal) or text (unless highly stylized; ask if unsure) are no longer allowed. You may have this pet recolored if you state you understand the existing design of the characters will be recolored to fall into the new standards of the shop and the old character will be ruled as 'defunct' (meaning the original design of a logo will be changed to look less like text and more like random color markings).
Note: If you own a pet with the above markings, the wolf is still playable and can act as any other wolf in-game. They are 'grandfathered in' and will not be limited in any way, other than any offspring from them will not show markings like the above.
All edits must comply with the new edit rules listed in this thread, or they will not be recolored. Currently Kaelyndra and Dovaxy (items only) are the only one doing edits, so these will be taken much less frequently. If you'd like a character who originally had edits to be recolored without them, please state so in the "additional notes" section.
You may not request additional edits--only pets who were edited originally may be edited in a recolor.
The new templates cause color variation from what was originally done, so your pets may change in appearance. Similarly, any colorist who is willing can recolor your pet, so markings may change simply due to style difference, preference, or execution. If we are concerned a difference may be too drastic, we will consult you before proceeding.
Colorists are taking these on a CC basis, but are under no obligation to do these. It is possible that pets will not be taken from the recolor thread for several months. Do not whine, pressure, or otherwise harass any member of staff about when recolors will be taken. Recolors are not required to roleplay or use your character, so there should never be any reason that a player needs a recolor.
Staff will be spreading the recolor love as much as possible: taking recolors from people that do not yet have any, or those who have not received a recolor in a long time. To help keep track, whenever they take a pet, they will cross out the pet, put their name next to it, and edit the date* at the top each indivudal's post stating when they last received a recolor. Do not, for any reason, change this date unless you are staff. Doing so may result in a ban from future recolors. If you think a date is incorrect, please PM the Shaoilin mule.
* This date indicates the last time you received a recolor. This should only be found once in your post, at the beginning. The very first time you post, please give the date you received a recolor. If you cannot remember the day, please give the month. If you have not yet received a recolor please write the word "None".
