Shu: *sits down without any real care for Di and his hermit-like nature* Perseus is busy, and you're going to become rooted to the ground if you dont get up and move eventually right? It might just hold you hostage and keep you there for eternity. So instead of becoming a plant, you should get up and at least walk with me. I would be willing to do at least that.

Di :: Looks up at him and huffs before shaking his head. "No, that is physically impossible, you know this right?" He stated before slowly pushing himself to his feet, arching carefully as he did so his back popping in several places. "Just what is Perseus busy doing? Playing around with a new friend I presume?" Di grumbled before shaking himself off slightly. "Fine, I will walk with you but only for a small amount of time. I haven't got all day to spend in idle walking with you." It probably takes a while, but since you rarely leave one spot it could conceivably happen!" He said, a grin lighting up his face and pulling the shine to his eyes as Diax actually got up from his groove in the ground. "What else would he be doing?" Shu asked, tail wiggling a bit. His good mood had worked its way from the tips of his ears to his paws despite his brother's flighty personality. It took everything Shu had to get that little ulaya to focus on anything, even now. "And what else will you be doing with your day then? Lazing about like a broken machine?" *noses the dark fur between Di's ears as he pushes his face into his shoulder*Quote:
Diaix :: He gives a soft groan and shakes his head before starting off at a slow trot. "It isn't possible, it wouldn't make any sense you would be changing your genus completely and that isn't possible. You can't go from mammalia to plantae and that isn't possible so no matter how long you waited it wouldn't work!" Diaix stated rather loudly at the end as he pranced taking only minor note to see if Shu was following. "I suppose you have a point, though he would do well to stick around and keep you entertained so you wouldn't annoy me." He stated softly walking closer and closer to Shu until their sides were rubbing against each other. "Did you really just call me a broken machine?" He asked lightly offended as he bit the other's ear. "No, actually doing something more than muscle bound training." Quote:
Shu: Gives a small, undignified snort and smiles at Di, shaking his head at his incredibly no-nonsense nature. "I know it wouldnt change your DNA Diaix, but plants could begin to grow over top of you and eventually pull you under with them. Now, stopping questioning my logic if you will." Shu pulled his paw up and poked Di lightly on the nose, his grin never wavering as the smaller one pranced in front of him. Shunsuke padded up along beside him, keeping pace as their sides rubbed and fur mingled. "You wound me Di, are you telling me you dont love my company? How will I ever go on?" He asked, a dramatic tone sneaking its way into his voice. "And yes, I di-hey!" he yelled, tugging his poor defenseless ear away from Diaix's teeth. "I doubt it. You have no muscle mass Di." He retorted slipping around behind the little geared ulaya and tugging at his tail. His movements swift and agile compared to the sluggish churn of Di's. "You should really do something about that though!" he said, voice a few notches louder than it had been as his tail twitched playfully, his paws carrying him back and forth in a playful bounce. DI :: He gave a soft snort before rolling his eyes. "Very well, you are incorrect, it can't happen, but I am not fighting you on this point any longer. Just know that you are wrong." He stated mildly before squeaking and whipping around to look at the offending male. "You just bit me! I dare say I don't enjoy your company after that!" He squeaked again scooting away from Shu and glaring mildly. "I don't need to do anything about my muscles, they work just fine and that is all I ask of them. Shoo, be gone with you." Diaix stated waving a paw at him. "I'm not playing with you Shu. I'm really not." The smaller male stated turning his nose up and sitting back down. Quote:
Shu: "I will agree to disagree." He finally relented, taking much pride in the way Di squeaked indignantly. "You bit me first." He countered, which was most certainly the truth. "And unfortunately for you, I know you enjoy my company so I'm going to keep annoying you." He stopped for a moment, but only a moment, as Diaix waved a paw at him like he was some buzzing bug and sat down, as though he were exhausted just from the mere thought of playing. Shu smirked, and it was an ominous sort of smirk if someone managed to see it before it vanished. There was a split second of still, sharp air, like the calm before a storm, before Shu tackled Diaix to the ground he so desperately loved and licked his face, nipping at his shoulders and his ears and tugging at the gear patterned fur. "Are you sure about that? Because it looks like playing to me."

Diaix :: He had but a moments pause before he was being tackled to the ground and physically assaulted! He gave a squeak and squirmed trying to free himself from Shu's clutches. "This is not play this is assault and battery!" He exclaimed before snapping and swatting at Shu. At his eventually escape he bolted running like a mad man to get away from the deranged monster chasing him. "This is really very childish of you!" He called over his shoulder as he ran, showing he was more nimble and agile than first expected.

Diaix :: Diaix gave a soft huff over his shoulder at the other's cockiness. "You are so full of yourself sometimes." He stated in a easy drawl. "You might think you are going to catch me but unlike you I have a brain." He stated as he switched course and bolted for the trees easily maneuvering his smaller form over and under branches and bushes. His ability to pivot his smaller girth coming in handy at this point. "Just what is it you plan on doing with me had you caught me?" He called back over his shoulder as he ducked under a fallen tree easily fitting through the small space without really having to slow down. Quote:
Shu followed Diaix's quick movements with ease, though dodging and weaving his way through the narrow openings in the trees, which he had long since decided had obnoxiously large trunks, proved to be a bit more difficult. "I have a brain too Di, though you never want to admit it. I do wonder if you always use yours, when you're lying there, becoming a plant with each passing day. Plants dont need brains." He called, though his quick retort shifted to a loud yelp as a thick and sudden branch caught him across the nose, knocking him between his eyes and sending him curling into a ball. It had been a while since he had endured pain quite that severe and sudden, a pain he had not been expecting from such a simple game of play. It was dizzying, and so he blocked out the world for a moment to gather himself. There had been times when he would push through such a little scratch, a minor knock to the head or push through as blood poured from his wound. He had gotten soft however, and just this once allowed himself a moment to endure the pain and work through it instead of pushing right past it as though it did not exist.Quote:
Diaix :: Di had been running along at a grand pace before he stopped suddenly at the sound of Shu's yelp. He knew he probably shouldn't go back cause it was probably a trick but what if the dumb had actually hurt himself. "I thought we were going to drop the whole you being wrong about people turning into plants thing?" He stated as he came prancing back to look at the other who was clearly in pain. "Shu?" He questioned softly before stepping over to press his nose against the black and pink male's head gently. "You should be more careful." Dia stated softly as he gently licked Shu between the ears in a rather loving manner. "I told you we shouldn't play. Not look, you are hurt." He grumbled softly as he nosed the skin once more. Quote:
Shu laid his ears back against his head, the fur ruffling in the wind as a light breeze swept past. He could vaguely hear Diaix speaking to him, the words, however, were jumbled and confusing, like an ancient language being spoken. He could feel the warmth then, the warmth of Di's nose against his head and then the loving lick to his barely exposed fur. Slowly lifting his head, Shu squinted, the light filtering down through the trees stinging at his eyes and leaving a swelling headache there. "I'm fine." He said as words finally began to make sense in his ears again. "I'll be okay." He whispered, moving his head slowly, cautiously to press his nose into Di's shoulder. There was a small river of blood dripping off his nose from where the branch had torn the skin with its sharp edges, though he brought his paw up to clean it away. "Thank you." The words were spoken softly and under his breath, however, he had managed to blink his eyes open completely and was now watching Di with gratitude. "For coming back." Quote:
Di :: He gave a soft snort as he licked the other's nose as well. Knowing full well that it would help it heal better than if he didn't; that whole anapestic in their spit thing. He shook his head as the other spoke. "Rest awhile, and you don't have to thank me for that. You are my friend I suppose." He said with a slight roll of his shoulders as he sat down beside Shu nuzzling his ear slightly in a rather gentle way. "You should probably train a bit more. You seem to be losing your edge." He teased lightly as he pressed his face against the other's. "Otherwise you are never gonna be able to catch me."
Of The Epidemic
Shu leaned happily into the physical contact, as soothing and calming as it was on his nerves. The fall had rattled him a bit, more than he would like to admit to himself. Pressing back against the warmth of Dia’s body, Shu settled for uncurling himself and simply resting there while Di poked fun at him. He snorted, the small movement of his nose sending a jolt of pain up between his eyes to settle somewhere at the back of his head. “I should train more.” He groaned, agreeing whole heartedly. If something as simple as a knock to the head could keep him down, he was no longer in his prime. He was aging with the best of them. With Di’s next words Shu pulled his sight from the root littered ground beneath them and up into golden eyes. Such a bright, expressive color for someone whose demeanor was always so indifferent. Diaix smiled then and edged forward to press their noses together in the most gentle of ways. Di was definitely a muddled puddle of complexities. “I could have caught you if not for your trickery. Always playing dirty.” He smirked, pawing playfully at the other’s ear. He was trying now to push past the pain and get on with their game, tired though he might have been. Perhaps he should have taken a page from Diaix’s book and simply rested for a while. “You don’t win.” He finally said, a glint of challenge in his eyes.
