Ariel Evangeline was sitting in a corner table at her favorite tea shop, she frequented it so much that she had come to think of this table as "hers".the shop was quite quaint, done in a victorian style, with lace table cloths, matching china, and waitresses in maid outfits.Gentle classical music played in th background mixing with the gentle hum of conversation. She was sipping on a delicate earl gray tea at the momemnt, with rose and lavendar added. She held the cup to her nose and inhaled the scent letting it carry her away. Distantly she heard the bell of the door ring as another partron walked in and was seated, near enough to her that she could hear the ensuing conversation.

Amaterasu saw a tea shop that looked very up scale and had a nice vibe to it. She walked in and was seated at a very fancy looking table. She traced a hand over the lace patterns of the table cloth as she waited for a waitress to come over. There was a lady at the table near hers and this lady was very brightly colored. She was very careful to make sure her long fluffy tail was out of the way. When the waitress finally came she smiled politely up at the lady but this lady shot her a bored look. "Um excuse me ma'am I'm not used to place like this. Could you please recommend a good tea here?" The waitress just rolled her eyes. "Well lets see there are so many teas here why don't you just pick one. They are all good. Doesn't matter to me. But how about that?" She pointed at one and it was a strange sounding name. "Ok I'll have this tea." She said the name of the tea. "Thank you."

Ariel had been lost in her revere until a set of colors caught her eye. She glanced over to see a lady entering with a long fluffy tail, and colors not unlike her own. She went back to her tea as the waitress approched, then did a quick double take to see who it was. Noting the face she was glad it wasn't the lady serving her. Bored already she returned to her tea only to be interupted by the waitress being rude to the apparently new lady. This was not ok, but not her problem now, she made a note to tell the hostess and went back to her tea- until she heard the words "Lapsang Souchong" and a shudder went through her. She looked pointedly at the waitress waiting for her to refer this obviouly tea newbie away from that particular tea. Instead seeing the waitress writing down the tea name she couldn't take it. With a sigh she set her cup down and stalked over to the waitress. " Excuse me, but what do you think you are doing? This is obviously someone new to tea, and you do not start them off with a lapsong souchong tea. THat is riddiculous and you will scare them off tea forever. Where do you get off doing that, huh missy? *she was getting a bit up in the face of the waitress* You are here to be a guide to the wonderful world of tea, not to terrify people. How dare you! You have no bussiness, none what so ever. Now! Appologize to the lady and bring her a pot of the Earl grey, with rose and lavander, and don't forget the cream! GO, NOW!~ *and feeling she'd done her piece she turned to go back to her table, still not having adressed the lady herself, but only the waitress.*

Amaterasu smiled as the waitress wrote down the name of the tea. It had such an odd name but then again a lot of teas did. Hopefully it would be something good. She wasn't a fan of bitter things. She was a bit nervous too since she was still so new to tea. And the last time she'd tried some it had been really bitter. No amount of sugar or cream had been able to help that flavor. A flash of color caught her eye and she turned her head. It was the lady at the table next to hers. What was this lady doing? Had she done something rude to offend? Oh that would be just her luck. She was shocked when the lady addressed the waitress and said all that. She stared in shock as she listened to everything this lady said. The waitress shot her a look then looked back at the new lady. "Yes ma'am right away." Then turned and walked off with out apologizing. She sat in stunned silence then slowly got up and walked over to the lady. "Thank you that was very kind of you miss. I don't know much about tea. But some can be so bitter."

Ariel went back to her table and picked up her tea cup, inhailing the steam comming off it and closing her eyes in pleasure. Then hearing movement she looked up just as the other lady began to speak. Ariel's eyes narrowed slightly and she deliberately looked the other woman up and down, clearly sizing her up without saying a word. She felt a slight thrill as she did so, but ignored it, as her gaze raised to unflinchingly meet this strange lady's gaze." Lapsong souchong is a campfire in a cup, bitter doesn't beging to cover it, it is as though you are drinking liquid smoke. Very poor choice." *disdain dripped off her words as she spoke* As for kind, don't fool yourself, I did it for the tea, not for you.

Amaterasu stood her ground as the lady obviously looked her over. Part of her wanted to flinch away from scrutiny like that but she would not let herself do that. She would not be intimidated by something like this. Her eyes locked with the lady and held them not looking away. Her nose crinkled in disgust. That sounded awful. "Ewww that sounds so gross. Why would anyone make a tea like that? Why would anyone want to drink that?" Shrugged slightly. "It was still a sweet thing to do. And what do you mean you did it for the tea?"

*Ariel noted that the other woman did not flinch from her rude sizing upl, and it made her want to smile, perhaps this young upstart had some back bone, and then her nose crinkled and Ariel wanted to smile more, but she stuffed the urge down.* Its considered a rare and posh tea. But its not anything a begniner should drink. As for doing it for the tea, it is a lost art that is just beinging to come back into favor, I want as many people as possible to enjoy tea to bring it back. SO while you may have been an indirect recipiant of my kindness I did it for love of tea, not you.*

Amaterasu watches the lady and looked at her. This lady was gorgeous and had such lovely bright colors. She kept her nose crinkled for a bit at the thought of such a nasty tea. It just sounded like it would make her want to throw up. She arched a brow at that. A posh and rare tea? Maybe rare because no one wanted something with a description like that. She sat at the other chair at this table. "It's not anything I'm ever going to wan to drink. Even if I stop being a beginner I'm still never going to what to drink that. Why do you love tea so much? It's a nice art and it's sad that it has gone out is fashion a bit. But still. Regardless of why you did it I still want to thank you for doing it. It was kind."

Ariel watched the womans delicate brow raise and it made the urge to smile grow. Then it was chased away completely as her hackles went up as the other lady sat down, at HER table, without invitation. " Clearly you are very new not only to tea but to manners as well. When joining anyone at anything it is polite to ask for an invitation" *she gave the woman and the chair a very pointed look* You have thanked me, then insulted me, apparently you are quite confused.......*she trailed off giving the woman a chance to defend herself*

Amaterasu smiled at the lady and then frowned as she saw the look on her face. She looked at the lady confused. What had she done? All she had done was sit down. She wanted to talk and was tired of standing. She blushes at that. "Oh. I wasn't thinking. I just wanted to sit and chat also I wanted to get my tail out of the way. I would hate for someone to trip over it. Especially if they were carrying hot tea. It'd be such a shame for that to happen. Someone could get hurt and a pretty tea pot could be destroyed. That's just too sad to think about." He didn't even see the pointed look that was shot at her. "Guess I have to say thank you and I'm sorry. Just wasn't thinking."

least the noodle had the grace to blush. She sighed a long put upon sigh, Clearly this woman lacked manners. She tried again, trying to dumb it down." while it was nice of you to think of your tail being in the way, the fact remains that you sat at my table without being invited. Ergo you should stand up, and while you apologized, and thanked me, you have yet to stand up. Thus even though you apologized you continue to insult me.

She frowned at that. And pouted when she was sighed at. That was a bit rude. No need to sigh like that. Technically this wasn't the lady's table but there was no point in saying that it would probably just sound rude. She arched her brow again. "May I please join you?"

Unbeliveable, This woman had no sense. She pouted like a three year old,and apparently had the manners of one. But again she sighed and tried to control her impulse to give this child a good tongue lashing. She literally bit her tongue and counted to ten. Now it was her turn to arch a delicate brow. " You said you merely wanted to thank me, which you have done, so why do you want to join me?

It was hard sitting there and waiting and unsure of a response. Would she be allowed to sit there or would she be told to leave? She watches her sigh yet again. Was this the lady's favorite response? Maybe chatting was a bad idea. "Because I'd like to chat with you. You seem nice and also I'm new around here and don't really know anyone. I'd also like to learn about tea."

Ariel's eyes widenend slightly, She was completely taken aback. This person unerved her. Breathing deep to calm her suddenly pounding heart she nodded slightly* I suppose you may stay then. *she said hoping her voice wasn't as breathless as she felt it was.* I guess I can understand being new. but *she moved on briskly* "First lesson- MANNERS. You are always to be as polite as possible while at a tea house, its essential that you learn to be the Lady and and always be prim and proper"

Amaterasu saw those eyes widening and smiled. What was so shocking? It was a very cute expression to see. She ha to fight back a giggle. She relaxed and grinned when she saw that nod. She beamed at the lady. "Thank you so much. Oh my name is Amaterasu. What's yours?" She forced herself not to purr too. She nodded. She sighed and smiled. "Ok. But I don't know the manners of a tea house are. I've never really been to a tea house before.

Luckily Ariel didn't notice the other womans urge to giggle, she as too busy being shocked. And then the other lady beamed and that unnerved her more. She chose to ignore the rest of it and instead focused on the words. " Well that is fine, just try to think before you do things. Think of anything you've seen in books and movies and such. The Lady is always polite and tries to think of the other people around her first and foremost." Then she realized the woman had given her name, it took her a moment of silence to reply the words then she got it. "Amaterasu, Pleasure to meet you, I am Ariel Evangeline *she pulled herself up tall, folding her wings back and setting down the nearly forgotten teacup and all but preened under the gaze of the other woman."

Amaterasu looked at the lady some more and was glad the lady didn't see her almost giggle. She figured this lady would not like that. She smiled more and was just to happy. She nodded her head when she heard all of that. "Oh ok. Well I guess I can work on being more polite." She watched her and grinned when she heard the name even though it had taken a bit. "Pleasure to meet you miss Ariel Evangeline." She smiled forcing down the giggles again when she arched Ariel preen and get all proper. Too cute.

Ariel sat pretty for a moment knowing just how good she looked and then she turned and motioned to the waitress walking by. " Miss Amaterasu will be joining me for tea, have her pot brought to my table please, and more cream if you will" *once more she turned to the woman and said, " It is nice to meet you as well. Now, you said you've tried some tea before, but have you ever used loose leaf tea or just tea bags?" *clearly tea was a very serious thing for Ariel and she was getting down to bussiness studying the other woman *

Amaterasu smiled and bit her lip to keep the giggles from exploding out. It was just so silly. She looked over at the waitress and smiled happy that Ariel was actually letting her sit here. "Thank you." She grinned and bowed her head at the nice to meet you stuff. She nodded yep she had tried some. "Mostly tea bags once I have a loose leaf tea. Which is better?"

*Ariel fought to not sigh again* " Well you get better flavor with loose leaf usually. But tea bags are more convient. You see, the tea has to expand, and they usually grind it up to fit it into the tea bags, that doesn't really allow it to expand now does it? So you get tiny particles of leaves and flowers, or the actual leaves and flowers. Now the reason I ask is because the tea here is served loose leafed. It means that the tea is floating around in the pot, and when you pour it into your cup you can get tea leaves in it, so you need to use a strainer, its a little silver thing that goes over your cup and strains the water as you pour it. Tea is lovely to drink but not so good to eat"

Amaterasu watched her. "Oh ok. Well then I suppose that loose leaf is better than the tea in the bags. I did enjoy the loose leaf one more than the ones in the bags. I never knew all that about tea." It was so interesting to learn all of this.

Ariel nodded softly as the noodle agreed with her, not that she had doubted but she had wondered with the lack of respect this noodle had shown, and just as she was about to return to the subject of manners the waitress materialized at the side of the table. This waitress ducked a small curtsey as she set out two small pots of tea wrapped in a fabric tea cozy along with a strange little silver bowl like object with handled on the side and a minuiture pitcher filled with white liquid. Ariel nodded gracefully to the waitress, and thanked her in a soft voice for her service, and for the thoughtfullness of her bringing a fresh pot of tea for her. The waitress blushed softly and bustled away. Ariel turned silently to Amaterasu and waited to see what she would do now.

Amaterasu smiled as she watched the lady nod. Her eyes were caught by the tea pat as the waitress returned. It was so pretty. Then she took a deep breath. The tea smelled so good. She smiled as the fabric thing was just so cute. She tilted her head as she saw the waitress curtsy. That seemed like such an odd thing to do but she didn't question it. She stared at the strange silver thing. "What is it?" She tapped at it not sure what it was. She smiled at the cream and was pleased with that. She looked at the blushing waitress. She watched Ariel unsure of what to do.

*a slow smile spread across Ariel's face as the other lady looked to her for what to do next* Very good, *she offered the praise and nod of her head to let the woman know she'd done well* The silver thing you were tapping at is the strainer I'd mentioned, the handles on either side sit on the rim of the cup and then you pour the tea through the mesh part and it strains the flower bits out of it. *she demonstraited on her cup, pouring the fresh steaming tea into the little dish* Mimick what I do, and be careful the teapot is hot. *then she moved the strainer setting it in the small silver dish it came with so the tea didn't drip on the table cloth* Then I would recomend you taste the tea. There are those that will tell you that you need add nothing to a good cup of tea- but it is different for everyone. So taste the tea- don't worry it won't be bitter, it will be quite light and floral tasting.* She blew on her tea slightly to cool it, then took a sip making sure not to slurp*

Amaterasu grinned as she saw the smile. Well is seemed she had done something right. She watched and waited to see if Ariel would show or tell her what to do next. She smiled at the praise and then beamed. It was nice being praised. Though it was an odd thing to be praised for. She watched intently as Ariel spoke and showed her what to do. She took her silver stainer and placed it over the top of the cup. She was sure to keep the handles on the rim so it wouldn't fall into her cup. Watched the lady poor in the tea and then the stainer was set in the dish. She very carefully picked up the tea pot so she wouldn't get burned and poured it into her cup. She breathed in the sweet smelling steam and smiled. Then placed the tea pot back down and the stainer into the silver dish very careful not to spill it over everything. "Like this?" She beamed at Ariel and then took a sip of her tea. "You're right it's not bitter but I still say it needs a bit of cream. I like cream. She poured some into her tea and sipped it slowly. Licked her lips and purred.

She watched as the other mimicked her and then added some cream and she smiled again. Nicely done, alot of people misjudge the pour of the spout and dump tea everywhere. And I agree, it needs cream. *she poured some into her cup, picked up the tiny little spoon and stirred her tea without clinking, then picked up a sugar cube in the gleaming silver tongs and dropped itin her tea* I like cream and sugar, though not too much or it can overwhelm the flavor of the tea. The Earl Gray your trying is a black tea, so cream goes well in it. Now if you have a fruity tea you probably don't want to try adding cream to it, often it doesn't go well. Now, do you like cookies?

Amaterasu smiled as she sipped her tea. It was really good and the cream made it even better. She watched her add some sugar too. "Is it better with sugar?" She sipped at her tea more letting the flavor wash over her tongue. It was very good and not bitter which was nice. It was light and not too heavy. She picked up the tiny spoon and stirred her tea very careful not to let it clink against the glass. Placed it on a plate carefully and goes back to sipping. "I'll remember that if I order a fruity tea. So far this is very good. Amaterasu smiled and nodded. "I love cookies. I love almost all sweets and pastries."

*Ariel laughed gently* Oh your going to love doing tea, there is so much to show you. For starters *she motioned to the gleaming white cookie jar and opened the lid and pulled out a tea cookie then motioned towards the plate holding little dishes of jam, double devonshire cream, and lemon curd that was sitting on her table* This plate here is for the cookies, I like it with the double devonshire cream, and the raspberry jam *and putting words to action she picked up the small knife, and spread some of the cream first, then jam on her cookie, and watched to see what Amaterasu's reaction would be*

Amaterasu smiled and listened to the nice sounding laughter. "What's so funny?" She smiled sweetly at Ariel. Looked at the gleaming white jar and her eyes widened. She really loved sweets. She watched as Ariel took out a cookie. It looked good. She took out a cookie and looked at the jars that were there. They sounded good she wanted to try each and every single one of them. She nodded and tried the combination that Ariel suggested. She tasted it and smiled more. Her eyes light up and sparkled. Her wings fluttered slightly as she ate the cookie. Then she tried one with the lemon curd. It was really good too. "Have you tried it with the lemon curd too?"

*To Amaterasu's question about what was funny she just smiled and shook her head and distracted her with the cookie. SHe waited while she tried it, and couldn't help but smile in response to Amaterasu's reaction* They are lovely, and yes I like the lemon curd as well.....there isn't much here that I haven't tried, I tend to come here alot *she flushed slightly and covered it up by taking a bite of the cookie again* So your first time in a tea house, having tea and cookies- a pretty special occasion.....*She looked over her tea cup at Amaterasu*

Amaterasu tilted her head when Ariel didn't answer her question but she didn't press it. No need to be too pushy yet. She blushed and ducked her head when Ariel smiled at her reaction. Reacting that much was probably rude or something someone without manners would do. She nodded. "Yes they are lovely. I like them a lot." She purred as she ate one of the ones with the lemon curd. "What haven't you tried here?" She tilted her head as she saw the flush. Was she blushing? Why? She nodded. "Yes my first time. Yeah but it's special because someone was here to share it with me and teach me."

*The reaction of Amaterasu piqued something inside of Ariel, she was starting to look at the woman across from her in a different light but she didn't realize it yet* I'm pleased that you like them, and glad you're enjoying the tea as well....As for what I haven't tried, anything with Fish in it- like the mini bagles with lox- *she shuddered delicatly* I can't stand fish...And then she stopped as Amaterasu said what she said. She couldn't help but swallow almost convulsively and then she feel back to her old ways and began to preen, ruffling her wings and settling them, wrapping her tail about her and posing in the light*

Amaterasu could feel the way that Ariel was looking at her change. But she couldn't place her finger on why it was changing. She wanted to ask but wasn't sure if Ariel even noticed it. She giggled as she watched the shudder. "Yeah so far so good. I like them a lot. And it is fun to enjoy tea with someone. I doubt I'd have had this much fun on my own. Also I'd have been drinking camp fire smoke." She teased. "And yeah fish can be strange if it isn't made right. I'm not the biggest fan of fish." Her eyes traveled to Ariel's throat as she watched that swallow. How odd. She bit her lip to hold back the giggles as she watched Ariel preen and pose. It was just too cute watching those wings ruffle and the tail wrap around herself. She smiled.
*Ariel watched Amaterasu bite her lip and it made her curious. So deciding to be a little rude she settled herself in her chair, tilted her head slightly to the side and and asked " WHy did you bite your lip like that?"*
Amaterasu felt Ariel watching her and frowned. Why was Ariel watching her so much? She sipped her tea some more and closed her eyes letting the flavor wash over her. She opened her eyes and looked at her. "Hm? Oh well it's just a habit. Why do you ask?"
*Ariel looked pensive* Becuase you seemed to do it in reaction to something I did, so I was curious.....*she trailed off and let the question drop. Something about this woman was un-nerving her and she couldn't figure out what, it made her uncomfortable. She moved on though, in true lady-like fashion, to the tea* " Have you ever had a true tea lunch before?
Amaterasu looked at the pensive look. "Oh that. I just thought your reaction was adorable. That's all." She shrugged not seeing how that was important. She sipped her tea more and then looked back at Ariel and smiled. "Nope. Never had one before. What is it?"

*Once more Ariel's eyes widened slightly in surprise at her open response and fought to not say anything at the woman being so open* My! Well then, a tea lunch *She completely skipped what made her uncomfortable* A tea lunch is wonderful. They serve little quarters of a sandwich that have the crusts cut off, of many different varieties. Such as cucumber and cream cheese, tomatoe and cheddar, and ham and swiss, they are all quite delicious. Then they serve a crumpet or a scone with more of the cream, often a flavored scone of some type, and then comes desert*

Amaterasu watched Ariel a she spoke. Odd the lady seemed to have reacted to something he said. But she wasn't sure what it was she said. She watched the widening eyes. But then shrugged as Ariel moved on to something else. "Oh that sounds interesting. But I would hate to go to one of those alone so I guess I'm just never going to get to go to one of those. And desserts? What kind of desserts?" She had a huge sweet tooth and loved just about any sweet that there was. And dessert were some of her favorites. "Are flavored scones good?"

*Ariel couldn't help but chuckle slightly and shake her head at the innocence this noodle displayed. It was quite odd but ariel did what she did best and kept setting it aside.* " Why do you say that you'll never getting to go to one of those? As for deserts there are many kinds, Pettie fours, little delicious delicacies, bits of chocolate cake, carrot cake, just about anything you can imagine. And the scones are lovely, the cinnamon sugar ones are my favorite."

Amaterasu pouted when Ariel chuckled. "Are you laughing at me? I don't think I said anything that funny." She looked down and away then back when she was asked that question "None of my friends are here. So there is no one to go with. That's why I'll never get to go to one. Though I would love to go to one." Her eye lit up even more as Ariel spoke. As she heard about all the desserts that were there we eyes got bigger and bigger like a kid in a candy store. "Those all sound amazing." She grinned and looked so eager. "That sounds yummy. I want to try it."

Ariel found that the pout made her....feel things...and she stopped her chuckle, yet ever the lady moved on smoothly as Amaterasu continued the conversation. She found herself wanting to comfort the other woman, which was very strange indeed for Ariel, and she was pleased that talking about the sweets had distracted her. "Well dear, you know you are at an establishment that serves not only tea, but luncheon and sweets....?" She waited to see the others reaction, and belatedly realized her words could come off as mean as she hadn't let the noodle have time to look at the menu yet.

Amaterasu watched the lady not sure what to make of her. She was so strange. She smiled when Ariel stopped chuckling. "What was so funny?" She did want to know why the lady had laughed. She looked and saw that there was indeed a menu. "Oh.... I didn't know that. But it would be rude to order." Sips her tea more and looks down at the menu. "I don't even know what is good here." She shrugged her eyes losing the sparkle they had had.

Ariel watched the noodle closely then gave her some serious eye contact." I was laughing not at you, but with you I had hoped. I was enjoying my time with you and considering inviting you to join me for luncheon today, not meerly for a cup of tea as was my original intention. But you are going through disseperate emotions so fast that I'm afriad I can't quite keep up" Ariel held back the fact that she was being affected by this other woman and wanted her happy, for some strange reason. But Ariel continued as though that thought hadn't occured to her. " Miss Amaterasu, would you care to join me for lunch and desert today?"

Amaterasu looked back at Ariel and smiles. She tilted her head at the serious eye contact she was getting and waited. She frowned she hadn't asked if Ariel was laughing at her just asked what the lady was laughing at. Her eyes widened in shock and she blushes scarlet. She smile softly. "I didn't think you were laughing at me. I just wanted to know what it was you were laughing at. If you invited me for that I would be delighted to accept I have been enjoying my time with you too." She beamed at the lady and her wings fluttered softly. She beamed more and wiggled excitedly. "Yes yes yes. I would love to join you for lunch and dresser today miss Ariel."

Ariel smiled as she waited. then was rewarded for her honesty by Amaterasu's blush and subsecuent smile. It was contagious, her own smile widened to match the glowing woman. Untll she said her name, and as this was the second time she had done it her smile faded and became a soft dissapointed frown. " I'm glad you accepted my invitation, but I simply must correct you on one thing. It is Ariel Evangeline, two names together for this Lady." 'After all it takes two names to reference someone as wonderful as I' she thought, but didn't voice.

Amaterasu smiled back at Ariel and then pulled her tail closer since it had slipped out from under the table with her wiggles. She had been so excited. She blushed more. She liked seeing that smile widen but then frowned as she saw the frown. Why was the lady frowning? What had happened to make her frown? It was so strange going from smiles to frowns. She saw the disappointment there and looked down and away. "I'm sorry Ariel Evangeline I just thought that was a first and last name. I didn't know it was two first names. I just didn't know. I'm sorry ma'am I meant no disrespect."

*Ariel nodded gently. " I understand that you meant no disrespect, though I thank you for clarifying. It was an honest mistake and I corrected it accordingly. No need to feel bad now is there? You shouldn't feel bad for not understanding, when I suppose I didn't make it clear, but after all, how could one name contain someone with all the force of personality I have? *she beamed at the Amaterasu*

Amaterasu watched her nod gently and listened to what the lady had to say. She shrugged slightly and sipped her tea more. She swallowed her mouth full of tea fast so she didn't spit it out or choke on it. She forced down her laughter. Had she heard that last bit right? Or had she hallucinated that? Who said stuff like that? It had to be a joke. She smiled at Ariel and looked at that beaming smile or maybe not a joke.

*Ariel just continued to beam, pleased that this lovley woman recognized her radiance* So onto lunch and desert......what sort of things do you not like, so I know what to guide you away from dear. Any allergies?[

Amaterasu saw the lady beam more definitely not a joke. Even if it was very funny. She crinkled her brow as she thought. "Well I don't like bitter things very much. I much prefer sweets or tart things. And no I'm not allergic to anything. What do you like?"

*Ariel Evangeline laughed softly, a sound like the chiming of bells* I like just about everything they serve here, except for the fish as I said before. But there is a whole new world of flavors to open you up to, so much for you to try! Its so exciting *she was nearly vibrating, and in fact rusttled her wings to settle them* How would you like to go about this? Shall I give you some suggestions and then let you chose? Or shall I just order for the both of us?

Amaterasu watched and smiled as she listened to that pretty laugh. It was so cute and delicate. "Yeah I remember you said you didn't like fish. Why is that?" Giggles softly and beamed. "I'm glad you are so excited Madame." She watched the lady shake and the wings rustle. It was just so adorable. "Well I think it would be best for you to just order. I'll trust you and surprises can be a lot of fun. Just please nothing really bitter."

*She made an icky face* I don't know something about the fish just tastes bad to me.....then *smiling broadly she felt something slight shift inside at the other lady giving control up of the situation to her, it felt different.* Very well I will order for us *she tipped her head slightly in acknowledgement to the lady and called the waitress over, and rattled off an order* We'll have the milady's respite and the duchesses delight meals, with another pot of earl grey and the royal wedding tea as well. We'll swap out the mushroom pastry on the respite with the garlic puffs, and take the ham and cheese quiche with the delight. As for deserts....*she beckoned the waitress down and pointed on some things at the menu* We'll have this, this and a selection of these... *she looked at Amaterasu and grinned* that way desert is a surprise

Amaterasu smiled back at Ariel and giggled. It was so cute listening to that. And seeing her face. "Ah ok. Well everyone has different things they like and don't like." She smiled back at the broad smile and relaxed. "Thank you." She watched the lady and the waitress. Listening to everything that was ordered. It all sounded so fancy. She looked at the menu to see what everything was and grinned. Sounded good to her. She chuckled as Ariel whispered the desserts to the waitress. "Sounds like fun to me."

Ariel nodded and the waitress bobbed another curtsey and left to put their orders in. "Very true, and fish and I don't get along. So there will be no fish in this lunceheon. Her eyes sparkled as Amaterasu chuckled, " so glad you approve. Oh, and watch your lovely tail, when the waitress comes back with the tea, hot tea spilling is not fun"

Amaterasu thought it was so strange that the waitresses curtsied. It was like nowhere she had ever been before. She vowed her head to the lady. "That's fine. Everyone has things like that. I'm ok with no wish in the lunch. Doesn't matter to me." She watched the eyes sparkle and grinned. "I do. And ok I will. Though I've been being very careful with it." She pulled her tail in closer.

Ariel nodded " sorry if that came off as rude, I was just concerned for your saftey. I've had waitresses dump hot tea in my lap before, its not fun" She paused in thought for a moment then spoke again " so what sort of things do you do for fun?"

Amaterasu shrugged. "Not rude. Thank you for looking out for my safety. I would hate to get hot tea on me." She tilted her head and waited. Then thought. "Well…" Amaterasu smiled. "Well I love to read. And also drawing is fun. But exploring new things and places is one of my favorite things. I have other things I do in my free time but what about you?"

Ariel was glad that Amaterasu didn't think she was rude, even though she wouldn't know as much about it as Ariel herself did being the lady that she was but it was still nice to know no offense was taken. "Oh my!" Ariel was a bit taken aback. She took a sip of tea to recover her equanimity. " Well, your very, progressive arent you?" She winced slightly at her wording. " what I mean to say is that your very modern, very up to date I suppose I"m a bit more old fashioned. I like to do embroidery, and cross stitch and the like. As well as singing and playing the piano."

Amaterasu watched Ariel unsure of what would happen next. Or what the lady would say next. This was a very strange day. She shrugged. It wasn't that modern or progressive. So what if she went out on her own? It wasn't that strange. And she could keep herself safe. She didn't need a man to go anywhere. "Yep I do. I can take care of myself. I don't see any reason why I have to bring a guy along anytime I get the urge to go out exploring. But I understand why some do. I just don't. Thank you for being worried but you don't need to." She frowned. "I don't know tea that doesn't mean I can't keep myself safe." She frowned even more. "Did you come here on your own?" Amaterasu "I'm sorry if that sounds rude. I'm not trying to be rude."

Ariel Evangeline looked slightly offended. " Well of course I came here alone. Because I know the place. But Oh phooey, I've upset you. I'm sorry I didn't intend to do that- * She paused as the waitress showed up with pots of tea.* the continued. You'll have to forgive me, I am rather old fashioned as I said, it is part of being the Lady I was raised to be, but you, your different, and I kinda like it *she said the last bit rather shyly and without her usual confidance*

Amaterasu watched the lady and bit her lip lightly to stay calm and not blow the situation out of proportion. No need to take offense where none was meant. She shrugged. "It's alright not that big a deal. You're just saying what you believe. And everyone believes so drying different." She turned and looked at the waitress and was very careful about her tail. Her ear flicked when Ariel started to speak again. "No need to forgive you. You didn't do anything that needs forgiveness." She tilted her head. "You like it? Why?"

Ariel Evangeline had the grace to blush slightly, and it wasn't feigned in the least. " Honestly, I don't entirely know, its so different than what Im used t. But you seem so happy, so free and so vibrant! *she spoke softly but genuinely, and then she paused, looking as though she had suprised herself* I am not one to speak so freely, but you bring things out in me, this is bizzare.....
Amaterasu watched the lady and noticed the blush. That was shocking. And very pretty. She listened to what Ariel said and tilted her head. "You don't know why entirely but you know you do?" Is curious. She blushes as she hears that description. "Oh. I didn't know you thought that. Thank you." She grinned. "I like that.

*Ariel looked very uncomfortable, but was still blushing as Amaterasu spoke, she seemed to get more agitated as she watched her companion and her eyes began to wander as she wasn't able to keep eye contact* Yes I don't know for sure, its different, but I do think that, and I...I....Oh look Lunch! *the last was said in a totally different tone- a Lady steppign back into control* and the waitress showed up with a three tiered tray holding an array of little delicacies. there were sandwiches surrounding the bottom, scones and crumpets on the second tier and tiny deserts on the top*

Amaterasu looked at Ariel and smiled. She frowned when the lady just looked away from her. Waited quietly for her to have done reaction other than that. " And good I'm hungry." But she just didn't understand what was going on. Looked at the waitress and the food. Pulled her tail out of the way.

Ariel knew her companion was uncomfortable but she was uncertain within herself, She felt quite sad about this fact but didn't know what to do. She dismissed the waitress with a nod." Well" she paused and looked at Amaterasu trying to read her expression, " Shall I walk you through what is for lunch" she frowned. " or would you rather talk first?"

Amaterasu watched her and waited. She sighed unsure of what to do or say. She looked at the food the waitress had brought and said thank you. Her eyes trailed over everything not looking at Ariel. Not knowing what was going on. "Whichever you would prefer."

It was quite clear to Ariel that her companion would not be able to set emotions aside and enjoy the lunch. She paused for a moment considering, then she shifted suddenly and pulled her chair around close to Amaterasu and said " Lets talk" and then she lowers her voice " I am.....feeling things, I don't understand exactly what Im feeling. But, I know that I am confused, and that it centers around you"

Amaterasu flicked the tip of her tail back and forth. Her wings flared a little then were folded up again. She fidgeted a little trying to hold still and not draw too much attention to her distress. She let out a startled sound as Ariel scooted so much closer. "Me? What did I do? I'm sorry."

Ariel winced and tucked her wings even tighter to herself. " Nothing my dear, you are not in trouble, i am not upset, meerly confused. I think I might be.....feeling.....things for you" Her voice had dropped a little, and she looked down and the ground as she spoke. " I know its terribly impropper, I am sorry, perhaps I should go" but she made no move to leave
