The young lordling was nearly prancing in place by the time the sun had risen, his golden hooves pounding the dirt beneath him excitedly as he waited for Father to return from his morning patrol. His blue eyes blinked and scanned the sky every few seconds. Father had said that he would take Valdemaras on a small excursion today, just him and Father and that in itself was excited but then Father added that they would be meeting someone very, very special and that made the young colt nearly dance out of his skin.
He normally wasn't this excitable but with several siblings and finally getting the chance for alone time with a parent, well it meant for a great deal of excitement. Valdis had taken very, very easy precautions to make sure his siblings hadn't followed, he couldn't have them trying to tag along on his alone time with their father, and perhaps this would be one of the most selfish things he indulged in... spending time with Father.
Finally he heard the snap of wings and felt the woosh of air against his fuzzy coat and he grinned up at his father, his own tiny wings flexing out in his excitement as he danced over to the Lord. "Good flight, Father?" He asked, his young voice ringing out clear, the high notes seeming to dance in the wind as he spoke.
