He'd asked for information on horsemen, and it was more voluminous than he knew what to do with. There was a lot of material to sift through, even if it was little more than vague suspicions. But... Kostya hadn't expected to see one so swiftly, not while doing routine rounds on an abandoned base in the southwestern united states, all red clay and kicked up dust.

Shaheen had been sent to the human world several times over the past few weeks, charged mostly with undertaking small missions focusing mainly on observe and report. She was to seek out bases that were thought to be abandoned and make sure that they indeed still were. Humans sometimes had the nasty habit of reoccupying space that was previously scoured of their presence like some horrible affliction that never quite went away completely. This area, however, did appear to be quite devoid of life. She was about to turn and leave, wings drawn around herself like a cloak, when the smallest hint of movement caught her attention. She didn't take time to investigate, her weapon summoned to hand with barely a thought.

Kostya stared down the barrel of his arm cannon, grimacing. It had wings, huge ones, and a weapon. The likelihood of this being a student was slim, given America's past encounters. Taking on a horseman alone had not been in his interests-- best or otherwise-- but it looked like that was what he was in for. Without a word, Kostya fired off a shot, electric blue crackling through the air, arcing high before descending on his target. hp// 50 dmg// 8 charge// 1/3

She hadn't quite turned to face her target fast enough, her wings spreading out behind her in a menacing manner even as she whirled, with a ready snarl on her face. She had caught the glimpse of white, could practically smell the rancid scent of human on the air... She was jolted by an arc of something blue that barreled into her, the snarl didn't diminish but her eyes were forced nearly close, her head bowing under the sting of the attack, her teeth gritting tight, and her fingers wrapping tighter around her weapons hilt in a white knuckled grip. She pushed through it, shook it off, and went running at him with a growl that tore out of her throat, slashing at him with her short sword the moment she was near enough to do so. HP: 42 Damage: 6

She struck swiftly and with great efficiency, in a way Kostya might have appreciated in another context. But, for now, he did not. The sword cut at his shield, and the startling growl that tore from her throat sounded like that of a vicious animal's; wild, untamed, vicious. Kostya fired a blast at close range, a quick pulse of electric-blue. "Horseman," he grunted, staggering back but not enough to clear himself from harm's way, "of course." hp// 44 dmg// 8 charge// 2/3

"Rancid stinking hunter. Of course." She spat in reply, letting out a small grunt of pain as yet another bolt of crackling blue energy hit her, jolting her to the tips of her wings. Again she pushed past it, and again she swung at him, this time grunting in the effort that she put behind the blow. She really despised hunter weapons, almost as much as she despised the hunters themselves. HP: 34 Damage: 8 cherno astra wooops omg I thought I filled this in my b my b

Kostya hissed as her blow struck true, slicing into his shield with a merciless cut. "Rancid is inaccurate," was his toneless reply, "if ve are being accurate, you are vun that is rancid. I have cleaned self recently." Despite the sarcastic deadpan words, he was carefully lining up the barrel of his weapon, until the muzzle was pointed directly at the horsemen's ribs. He was unsure if they had hearts-- the literature was incomplete in terms of horsemen biology. Kostya supposed that, much like students, if they had a heart, it was not their actual source of existence. That did not make it any less satisfying to release a blast at point blank range. hp// 36 dmg// 12 charge// 3/3

Shaheen's nose wrinkled in disgust as the little white maggot decided to debate her choice of contemptuous slander, though before she could correct him further, a blast took her full in the chest, and downed her, wings twitching, muscles twitching, a loud and pain filled gasp escaping her, her mouth working open and closed even as her fingers dug into the dirt on the ground, her wings falling around her. And then she began to chuckle. She didn't need to answer him. Her utter contempt for hunters should have been enough to strike them dead with nothing more than a glance. She was suddenly back up in a crouched position, her movements quick, her insanity ridden hand reaching behind her even as her other re-summoned her notched short sword, which began to glow, a dull yellow at first, but hotter, brighter, until it was as if human sunshine had been made into a blade. And from behind her, the opposite. She pulled free from it's scabbard a sword that's blade was dull, blackish grey, fissured and swirling with a fog that matched that which shifted away from the broken tips of her wings, it's hilt glittering with a few multicolored gems. Rage and hate distorted her features, and a long loud shriek pierced the air as she opened up her mouth and let loose her battle cry, running forward, leaping, baring down with both swords at once. HP: 22 Damage: 19 + 6 (insanity sword) 25

It unnerved him, to see how so little phased her. She was a creation of something unholy and unnatural; of fear itself, and it was so easy to remember that fact in the heat of battle. Syntax's warning bells went off the second that white-hot sword raked against his shield, throwing him backwards with huge force. He felt himself skid backwards, sliding along the ground with a grunt. Pushing himself backwards with his feet, Kostya struggled to aim Syntax at the ground beneath the horsewoman's feet, grunting as he fired off a huge blast (but not before mentally recounting the secret code to appease his childish weapon). The last time he'd done this, he'd taken Obadiah out. It looked like he might do the same to himself-- debris flew right for Kostya in a way he couldn't dodge, simply endure. hp// 15 - 10.5 = 4.5 dmg// 25 charge// 0/3, 1 used
