 Determined to do better than his last attempt (which, he admitted, he had felt desperate to try and turn the tides of the battles and had rushed things), Diesel was soaring his way over the clashing battles below, searching for anyone not involved in a fight. Finding who appeared to be a death follower, he swooped down, tucking his wings to increase speed as he tried to bowl him over. HP: 20

 Lured into a state of complacency by it being so long since his last fight, Aeron was taken completely by surprise when the cursed attacked, knocking him to the ground in a cloud of dust, breath stolen completely. Trying to regain his senses, he pulled out his scythe and aimed a downward swing at his attacker.

Diesel swooped up as soon as he hit the death follower, to do his customary light landing, but felt the scythe in his back from the quick reaction, causing him to stumble as he landed -- glad that thing didn't take off a wing. Wincing, his own scythe was quickly in an arc aimed at Aeron as soon as he steadied himself. HP: 17

Somehow the sight of the scythe appearing in the other's hand caused a knot of rage to flare up inside Aeron. It was as though the abomination in front of him were mocking him and the god who had been kind enough to take him in despite his shortcomings with the concept of death. The scythe found its mark in Aeron's shoulder, scoring a deep gash, and he brought up his own in angry retaliation in a horizontal swoop.

Diesel backed up, taking a gash across his stoach, but his own scythe was already arcing up and around; he brings it down diagonally aiming it at Aeron's hip. HP: 15

The attack was sudden and powerful; Aeron felt the scythe striking bone as it dove into his hip and caused him to stumble. Fighting to keep himself upright, he starting swinging wildly, trying to cover himself as he found surer footing.

Diesel kept his heavy weapon in motion, though it partially caught on his opponent as it dug in; it took him too long to avoid the wild slashes and his chest and side got sliced deeply as he wound up his next swing and went for Aeron's knees. HP: 11

Feeling his strength ebbing away faster than he thought possible, Aeron was unable to block the slice to his knees, causing him to cry out and crumple just as soon as he had gotten his bearings. Angrily he swung out with his scythe above his head, hoping to score a hit on his opponent if he dared to move in while he was down.

Diesel didn't try to avoid the scythe, he brought up his own to deflect it, though he took a gash to his wing in the process as he moved inside Aeron's reach to aim a kick up at his chin. HP: 9

The kick that came at him seemed to evade his scythe and connected squarely on Aeron's chin. Blinking back stars and tasting blood in his mouth, he gripped the handle of his scythe with hands far apart and tried to hit the other on the head with the thick handle. HP: 4

Diesel juked back as he tried to brain him, then tried to bring up the butt-end of his scythe, with its sharp curved point, up into Aeron's chin. HP: 8

Aeron felt another hit to the chin, this time strong enough to almost make him black out. Having a hard time believing that he was almost down for the count, he lashed out with all the leftover strength he could muster and slashed at level with the other's face. HP: 1

There was no way for Diesel to avoid that slash; even though he was surprised his last attack didn't knock out his foe, Aeron put a lot more speed and force into his swing than he expected, and he couldn't move enough in time. He brought his own weapon up but all it did was change the direction of the slash -- instead of going across his eyes (phew), it went diagonal -- gouging a deep furrow from one jawline over his nose to the opposite temple. "********!" Diesel shouts, the first words he's said the whole fight as blood pours down his face. He squints one eye shut to keep the stream out, even as he rushes in to smash his haft into Areon's face. HP: 4

The exclamation the other shouted was music to Aeron's ears, slowly lulling him to oblivion as the haft came crashing down into his face and ending his thoughts, even as one lingered like a puff of smoke; the question of the other wreaking vengeance on him for that last blow to the face. Good thing his god cared little for such things..... HP: 0 ((Good fight. ^_^))

Diesel cared little for such things as vengeance, really.........he didn't personally care about scars; he was more worried about making his girlfriend upset when he got home. Grumbling as he meandered back to camp he resisted the urge to touch his bloody face, and hoped the healers could fix it up properly. (*snickers, couldn't resist, and yes, good fight smile )
