It might have seemed odd to carry on in the manner she had decided to, but Jun could not resist the urge to test her balance upon the thin brick rim framing a fountain in a nearby shopping center. It wasn't like she had planned to buy anything in the shopping center, seeing as she had a lack of shoes. Most stores required she had shoes on before entering.

So instead she lined up her foot between the bricks and took on a stance that required one foot in the air. The aim of the game was to keep the position as long as she could. She had plenty of practice with the Crane stance on a level ground, but upon the thin base of a fountain was a different issue. It required plenty of concentration, maintaining a sort of focus with deep breaths.

Of course, people passed by. Some stopped to stare, some laughed at her efforts, but Jun didn't mind. It required discipline to practice the martial arts, so all she considered the odd looks to be were another series of tests.

What had once been runs through the park with a gerrymandered cart with weights attached had at least evolved into a more expensive weight-training vest with accompanying backpack. He was still adjusting to another new increase in the weight and the blazing summer heat- it was so hard to make the distances he usually made when it was spring and fall. Running in anything over 80 degrees took it out of him anyway with how hot his body usually was, but the extra 200 lbs between the two implements carried instead of pulled was killer.

He liked the fountains as break stops. At the right angle, on a day with a breeze, the spray was enough to feel cool but not enough to drench a person.

Not that it would matter as he was. He was already drenched head to foot.

Björn pulled up to a walk, pacing slowly to the fountain and checking the breeze to find where he would panting-pace while he swallowed air into his lungs and tried to convince himself that he really did need to hydrate by drinking a water bottle from the backpack instead of diving into the fountain to just be still. The small body making the circuit of the ledge didn't register at first.

Then as he finished fishing out the bottled water and took a long draft from it, looking at her progress again he almost spit. The strongman just baldly stared- It's that girl! The one the senshi saved.

One could only stay in the Crane stance for so long, given the challenge of her location. Having a bit more grace than a novice, she lowered her leg down, ensuring that she would not tumble into the waters of the fountain. Drawing in another long breath into her lungs, she once more glanced to her surroundings.

Jun was not disappointed with what she found.

A huge man was there, arms that looked as if they could be registered weapons, looking directly at her. Jun was familiar enough with sweat to know that the stranger was covered in it, but that wasn't the important matter at hand.

With a big smile creeping upon her face, she pointed as she stated "You look strong!"

It might have been the understatement of the year.

If she had never gained a senshi form, she might have considered challenging him to a fight right on the spot. However, gaining that new strength meant she would not waste such a challenge unless she was at full strength as well.

Which meant that there was another option for this man.

"You look like an excellent set of pull-up bars!"

Björn shifted in a startle with the point - DOES SHE RECOGNIZE-

no...not so much. Does....she always point at people when she talks to them? and always at very large persons?
There certainly wasn't any need to look behind himself or thing it was some other 'strong' person nearby that she was addressing so boldly.

"I....am a person, not a pull up bar..." He lifted an eyebrown uncertainly. "But yes, you do not look very heavy. Your weight would be easy to hold an arm steady with. "

"What are you practicing for?" He already knew she could, having seen her doing as much- "You look like you can do a lot of pull ups."

Jun did not seem deterred by his statement about being a human versus a set of pull up bars. She stepped closer, seeming to judge his height compared to her own. If he straightened out his arm on one side, there would definitely be enough room for her to do pull-ups if she bent her knees slightly.

"I train for Wushu," she announced once she was immediately before him. She was not very discreet as she held her arms out, as if still mentally measuring herself to his arms. It was almost as if she was considering jumping up and clinging onto the arm in an effort to continue her exercises.

"...And it seems as if you train for something as well..." A brief up-and-down, she added "...but I doubt it is for Wushu." His body structure seemed to lend itself more to strength, but less to formal fighting formats like martial arts.

Woo-shoe? Maybe its a kind of Kungfu like those old TV shoes and movies. He'd seen from across the weight rooms some tai chi classes in the mat rooms before plates , yoga, Tae-bo, Zumba and whatever other strange things were scheduled in the dawn slots at the gym. He looked vaguely concerned at her measuring, suspecting that he MIGHT just get jumped on after their last encounter. If nothing else, she was reinforcing the impression of Boldness.

"Strongman sports, power-lifting, and Highland Games. " And how to not die sparring against an insane, sword-wielding lord.

"I've never heard of Woo-shoe...you go to a school for it around the city? It is a martial art?" It followed it must be, with the pajamas they always wore. "Are you going to jump on me?"

Nothing like asking the obvious.

Jun laughed.

It was an amused laugh as she firmly planted her hands upon her hips.

"Yes... though the question you should be asking yourself is when I will jump... not if!"

If anything, she was at least honest about her intentions.

Bringing her arms down again, she resumed her blatant measuring of the large man. "It makes sense that you are into strongman sports... you have the physique for it! Work with what you were born with, yes?"

Jun was keenly aware of her own stature, and though she did what she could to improve her own abilities, there were some things she could never accomplish due to stature.

"Wushu is a sport, actually. It is a competition showing off various martial arts skills as well sparring... depending on which discipline you prefer. I mostly practice on my own these days, but I used to take classes and compete in local competitions." She neglected to mention she got sent to a certain school as a result of her hobby.

It wasn't relevant to the conversation.

"So you say 'power-lifting' and then I say 'how much can you lift...'"

There was a brief pause.

"...you have a name, yes?"

I should be? But if I was asking when, and you never did, then it would have been an if? Or is she saying that she's the sort of person that always jumps on people, so it is always a yes to if. So When is the more important because you do know its going to happen?
Maybe that's right. It seems right.

He gave a slow nod, at least appreciating the 'honesty'. Honest that was better read as 'warning', in such a case. The explanation that she wasn't in classes, and possibly not in local competitions anymore, was a little sad to hear. The reason not immediately given meant it might be a touchy subject. No money, no time, having moved locations, trouble with others at whatever school- there were many reasons a person might have to switch to self guidance that they didn't want to just tell every person they jumped onto on the street.

" Björn. The how much depends on what lift. It isn't just how much, but agility and speed while doing the lifting. Some general stats that the forms ask for are like Bench press max weight, Dead lift, and Leg press. 400lbs, 850lbs, and 1400lbs so far. "

"What is your name?"

The girl's mouth popped open into a small O shape before she started to clap her hands at the figures presented to her. "That is quite impressive, Bjorn! I could only wish to get that strong!" True enough she did work out to strengthen herself so that her punches could pack more of a wallop, but she definitely was far less intimidating when it came to her weightlifting abilities.

She continued to clap until the newly introduced Bjorn as her the name she went by.

"Oh, yes! I suppose it is only fair!" With a grin, she quickly crouched down just enough to spring up into a rather impressive jump into the air for her height. However, she only did a straight jump rather than something blatantly attempting to latch onto the tall fellow.

"I am Jun!" With that same big smile, she waved at Bjorn at what was almost his height before gravity took effect and she was going back to the ground level.

Well...just strength is not everything. But even smaller people can be very strong. Mariusz Pudzianowski is only 6'1", and he has been very great in strongman with five titles. He does mixed martial arts now- you just need a regular weight regimen and meal plan. You...look like you have speed and accuracy training already worked out." And something of some sort of meal plan to manage powering the sheer amount of caloric enthusiasm.

"Joo-n...it is good to meet you, " he thought. Maybe. A senshi wasn't going to appear out of nowhere again, he didn't think, so it couldn't be too dangerous to know the girl's name. It might help for being able to make use of it if he found need to. Maybe knowing her name or not, and using it or not, doesn't matter so much in convincing her to do or not do things. "You have a good standing vertical. You are in school? Do you do track training for a team...I haven't heard of any of the schools having teams competition martial art?"

She looked young enough, accentuated by her energy, to be in one of the middle schools or high schools. Or maybe first semester in college? It was hard to tell exactly. He was never good at guessing ages.

"No!"

After landing, the girl stood up as tall as her small frame would allow before extending a pointed finger at Bjorn yet again. This girl truly had a thing for pointing.

"The name is not 'Joon!' The name is Juh-n... rhymes with FUN!"

It was a truly tender subject for her, ever since she started school. Stupid Americans being stupid!

Pulling her hand back, she clapped her hands together as if dusting them off of the subject before heaving in a sigh and responding to his other questions.

"I am at Mags... senior year. baby!" With an overly confident gesture she pointed to herself with a thumb. "School activities get in the way, so I train on my own. I can create my own work out regiment!"
PostPosted: Sat Sep 13, 2014 4:21 pm

Rhyming with 'fun', a simple and well used word, made her desired outcome very clear. Björn nodded, considering the finger thrust at him again. Her displeasure with a name mispronunciation seemed comical in juxtaposition with her either not knowing or not caring about the fact that pointing was considered rude.

"Jun," He offered in correction.

Mags was initially hard to follow. flipping the jangled Rolodex of his brain through leaves to try to come by what the abbreviation meant. He didn't come up with the answer, but the follow up commentary had answered enough- yes she was in a school of some sort somewhere. No, she was not on a team of any sort. And as a senior it would mean she was close to graduation, unless she ended up a second year senior.

He'd found working the schools' support of a regular power-lifting regimen as useful for his personal training as anything he did on his own time. He wasn't sure how she though doing track or gymnastics would be completely useless. Maybe 'Mags' didn't offer them and wasn't willing to set something up for a single student?

"Aren't you supposed to have a master to train in things like that?"

The girl's mouth formed a thoughtful "o" shape after Bjorn asked his question about masters. Had circumstances been better for her, there was a good chance Jun would still train under a master of sorts. It was hard to get parental assistance when one got in trouble for picking fights in the first place.

Though there was plenty of truth in the words she chose, she was still very careful to choose her words wisely.

"I have been participating and training in the sport since I was very little. Times have prevented me from formally continuing the proper training, but I still have plenty of books on the subject. Plus there are all sorts of resources online which can assist someone who is quite familiar with the genre of Wushu."

Seemingly done with this potentially serious aspect of the conversation, the girl once more jumped up, but this time seemed to have a bit of arc to her jump, attempting to land herself upon the large man's shoulders.

His arms weren't out enough for her to try getting the pull-ups in, but perhaps she could persuade him after she had already claimed a spot.

The serious nature of the answer had unfortunately worked as a distraction and stall for getting his 'guard' down as far as expecting the previously declared intent to leap on him.

He didn't startle or move out of the way of it. There was definitely enough space on his shoulders each individually for her, and especially if one foot was on either. Charles Atlas had had plenty of room for regular sized people on his regular sized shoulders and arms- Björn was a bigger man in muscle mass, training regimen, and sheer frame.

Now with a feminine accessory to his fashion statement he'd never planned for the day, the strongman looked up at his passenger. Holding still- "What...exactly is your plan from there?"

"Are you familiar with hand-to-hand acrobatic work?"

Rather than use her legs to clutch onto Bjorn's body, she relied solely on her arms to hang from the man's broad shoulder. Initially her arms were straight so she was simply hanging off his frame, but eventually she curled her arms up in a practiced motion so she could be a bit closer to the man's earshot for a response.

"...I was planning to ask you to straighten out an arm now... if you wouldn't mind!"

With a grin, she slowly let herself sink back down to a more straight-armed position. The other question was not nearly as important to her, so she didn't really care if her response was audible to the giant man.

"...I have heard of it, but I am not overly familiar with it... if that makes sense?"
