Sabra Knight Staring at the waves Talise sat in the sand. It was a beautiful image, the moon slinking slowly up in the sky after a radiant sunset, and the lioness enjoyed watching as the skies changed over. Maybe it was just a srange quirk from her mother, but Talise had always enjoyed watching nature change around her. Even the sky with its constant days and night could have slight changes making it just as random as the next wave. She laughed at the thought, “I think I might just be avoiding diving right now.” The petite lioness sighed before standing to stretch. The moon would be up soon and since it was so full there was plenty of light. Her mother should definitely make certain to give her plenty of payment for the flowers she was wanting. Rare undersea plants that only shimmered at night…Talise was one of the few who dared to dive into the darker depths for them. Her mother used to…but ever since her leg had been injured Talise insisted on going in her stead. The last thing she wanted was for her mother to be alone in the waters at such a time…the thought sent a shiver down the lioness spine. Nope, nope. She would much rather do it herself. Paws touching the wet sand Talise stepped towards the water’s edge and let the cool touch of the current calm her mind. After the harsh storms that had come through all too recently, Zephyr was happy to see a blissfully calm evening. The Winter season was one of the harshest she knew, but she was all to happy to see it. The fish would be plentiful, the buffalo wild...and love was in the air. Her tired body walked slumped against that of her mate as he murmured sweet nothings into her ear. It was rare to hear him be so openly affectionate, as he was a much more reserved male, but after her day of heavy hunting it was absolutely perfect.
She saw her sister on the sands and didn't have to wonder why she was out. It was late, later than most would call safe, but for the girls this was a time of great activity. "Meeting with the waves again, Talise? Where's that mate of yours? You shouldn't be swimming alone this late."
Of course the way she said it meant the two would be there with her. They might have been tired from their work, but they weren't exhausted.
Koukakala gave a great heaving sigh that reverberated through his large frame. There was little he wouldn't follow his mate to, but he had thought they were on their way to the den for a little late night activity that definitely did not involve her sister.
"It is nice to see you again, Talise. How do you fare?" Still, he gave a small smile to the other female. She was as much family to him as any of his blood and he couldn't just leave her to her own devices this late in the evening.

Sabra Knight Talise’s ears perked up at her sister’s voice, “Oh Zephyr. I’m certain he would die if he even imagined what I do at night here.” She teased lightly. Though admittedly the lioness still wanted to get some moonlit swimming in with her mate. As silly as the thought might have been the idea of being in the ocean with the moon above over her and the one she loved was truly romantic in her heart. She winked at her sister, “But it looks like I’m not alone anymore. Even if you weren’t here the ocean is with me.” Blinking over toward Koukakala Talise grinned, “I’m faring well sir. How do you do?” Her tail swished a bit as another cold wave washed over her paws and the lioness had to shuffle a bit to avoid being completely splashed, “I was going to do some diving by moonlight. Would you two care for a swim? I’m not going to drag you deep with me though.” Talise smiled teasingly, “But a splash about might be nice.” Snorting, Zephyr shook her head. That Zaid of hers needed to loosen up! He was wound so tight he would snap like a squid when flung from a cub's paws. Admittedly he was getting better, but Zephyr didn't understand what her sister saw in such a male. "The ocean is a worrisome place this time of year. It isn't safe to be on your own."
Hearing her own mate snort beside her, Zephyr moved to step on his paw with enough force to cause him to hiss. She knew he thought her a hypocrite for saying such things, but it was the truth! ...Even if she didn't follow it.
"I am well." Though he was a man of few words, Kou's air of ease spoke volumns. He bumped into Zephyr, motioning her in his own way to go forward and join her sister as he made his own way towards the waters edge. The cold liquid after such storms chilled down through his fur to his bones, but it felt nice after working so hard that day.
"I will dive with you, if Zephyr keeps watch." He knew his mate would not be able to because of her condition. Should the salt water enter her open eye socket...he could not imagine.
"Only if you bring me a shark." She winked and went into the water, splashing and making as much noise as a bull elephant.

Sabra Knight The lioness had to resist the playful urge to roll her eyes at her sister’s warning. Though her gaze did gleam with appreciation that even Kou called Zephyr out on the statement, “Don’t worry sister. I was planning on being really careful. Promise~” She wouldn’t do something that even their mother wouldn’t do…which actually…well maybe that wasn’t a safe thought either. Iara did like to push limits after all even now. Still despite having to be ‘careful’ now Talise was thankful for the company. Besides their mother the lioness felt the closest to her sister and would never reject the notion of hanging out with her and her mate. Though the thought made her own heart miss her dear mate. He wasn’t far away, yet still she wished that he was right there with them. Her thoughts cleared though with Kou’s offer, “Are you certain?” She looked over towards the bigger male, a faint grin upon her maw, “I tend to dive deeply.” Zephyr’s comment made Talise laugh, “Depends on if you want it alive or dead sister.” Still the lioness followed them into the water. Watching her sister made the lioness smile happily. Even Zephyr could still play in the water like a cub. If it hadn’t been for her goal Talise herself would have quickly joined in next to her, “Well here we go.” There was no hesitation as the lioness kicked her way down through the waters and into the darker depths. It was completely dark save for a few feet when the pale blue glow lit by moonlight showed her the plants that she was looking to collect. Bingo Zephyr pushed through the cresting waves that came in heaviest on the shoreline. They pulled on her as they receded, as if beginning for her to join them. She had taken great joy in swimming as a cub, though it had waned since then. Her love was always by the ocean, in it's caves and coves, but not as much inside of it. Still, she did love to splash around when she could, especially on warm days.
"Alive, of course. What good is it to me dead?" There wouldn't be any fun in eating something that had been killed for her. Zephyr had always been one to play with her food. As she moved to deeper water she knew where her personal limit was, and halted there, content to swimming and lounging, watching the sky for any changes.
Koukakala was more meaningful in his approach to the sea. He moved into it like a stone cutting through a raging river, and slipped down to his shoulders. At hearing Talise's quip, he merely nodded. There hadn't been a time in his life near the ocean that he hadn't been able to dive deep. He had to much muscle to float, so sinking aided him a lot in the venture.
Pushing himself off he gathered a large lungful of air and dove down. The lack of open light was an adjustment, but under sea life held it's own particular charm. He moved, skirting from alcove to alcove until he found his goal. Little young sharks moved about, just large enough to make a meal and he dove for them.

Oh sister of mine.
As Talise pulled her body further into the depths the lioness began to fill the change. The air she had swallowed could only take her so far down without jumping in from a higher vantage and it wouldn’t be long before she would need to breath. Frowning the lioness then settled for a clump that was near her left paw. Soon she was expertly tugging away at the strands and as bubbles erupted around her Talise kicked off with her prize in her maw.
Where was Kou though?
Probably looking for some sharks. The thought amused her. How fortunate that her and her sister had both found such wonderful mates. Kou really would do anything for Zephyr and for that Talise was glad. But that definitely meant it looked like sharks would be their late night meal then. Emerging from the waters Talise spit the water herbs against a rock hanging above the shore. Picking up a small rock she tucked them beneath it for weight before turning back towards her sister, “Do you suppose I should help him with his shark quest?” She smiled teasingly though her gaze was intent on the waves. Even though she felt confident in others it still didn’t hurt to take care of their diving time. Already her body was braced to enter the ocean depths again, but this time to help in the shark round up for her sister.

Zephyr would her body around the waves before giving into a lazy float. It felt nice, just coasting on the waves when the moonlit sky in front of her. When she held her paw to the sky it was almost like she was swimming in the heavens instead.
Kou exhaled from a small opening in his lips just enough so that the pressure wouldn't get to him. The burning had already started to settle into his lungs, but it wasn't anywhere near critical yet. Using a reef to his advantage he grasped it with his claws, swinging himself downwards. At the last moment he opened his mouth and in a rush of bubbles clasped his fangs around one of the sharks.
It thrashed in his paw, turning and spinning, but sharks could only breath so long as they were moving. Unfortunately Zephyr would have to deal with a dead one, as the act had caused this one to perish and he didn't have time to find another one. With a great kick he pushed off to the surface.
Shifting so that she was now on her stomach again, Zephyr paddled in the water as she thought. "It couldn't hurt? Depends on how hungry you are, I suppose. I mainly wanted him to do it just to see if he would." She laughed, openly and a little maniacally. "I'll just let him eat whatever he catches. Being a huntress has it's perks...like first dibs on chow."
And boy had she filled up earlier! As Kou surface some distance away from her, Zephyr waited patiently as he swam over, but the limp shark in his jaws caused her to groan. "Oh whhhyyyy?" Pouting she saw the little sat look to his face, but she only grinned. "It's alright love, you did it for me, and it's perfect. Perfect for you, that is. I'm stuffed. You need the extra energy though."

Talise smiled as she shook her head at her sister’s whims, “That poor mate of yours. You should have known he was going to.” It was obvious to the lioness how much her sister and her mate had love for each other. May the gods bless Kou for his dedication to the whimsical lioness, “Then I suppose we’ll just wait and see what he brings up.”
Laughing softly beneath her breath at the interaction between the two Talise moved around them, “She’s horrible, but you’ve gotta love he some days.” She teased lightly giving her sister a slight bump as she walked around, “But as it is I’ll leave you two to your fill as I have Zaid waiting on me and herbs to lay out to dry.”
She smiled towards them, “But take care and maybe tomorrow night I’ll have my mate convinced that we need to have a moonlit splash together.” As she turned to disappear through the darkness the thought made her smile. There was just something about having her family so close to her that such play could happen that warmed Talise’s heart. And with Zephyr and Kou about there was fun a plenty. Not that she was completely innocent herself and as Talise thought of her mate back at the den a mischievous smile promising play lit her maw.

"You say that as if he wouldn't have done it if I hadn't told him." Zephyr grinned, flashing a toothy smile in the moon light. It reflected off her ivory fur, bouncing out and around the shell covering her right "eye". There was an alluring grace to her in the night that was sadly missing during the day time hours. Her fur was course, and thick, thanks to the sea, but out here she looked luxurious.
Kou rolled his eyes, and turned his head so the tail of the sharp hit Zephyr in the face. His short lived chuckle was quieted by a splash to the face, which only served to make his already drooping mane cover his dark eyes.
The larger lion moved towards the shore line after Talise, though his eyes were constantly going back to the form of his mate. She pranced for him, swimming on her back like a seal before sliding up to his side. The way she looked at him...it melted him from the inside out.
"Say hello to Zaid for me, dear sister! Tell him I want nieces and maybe, just maybe, a nephew." Winking, she let loose a horrendously dramatic cackle. It wouldn't seem right for her family to be swamped in males, seeing as even their wayward sister had birthed two litters of mostly females, after their own estrogen based litter. Maybe she would visit her brother some day, but tonight, she had her mate.
She gently pulled the sharp from his maw and snatched it with her teeth. The brief contact between the two spoke volumes and when she went towards their den, he was soon to follow.
